001 - Life Coach Michelle Gauthier introduces herself and her new podcast, The Overwhelmed Working Woman.

In this first episode, I’ll teach you the very first step to stop feeling overwhelmed, which is to get friendly with it. Instead of wishing overwhelm would go away or trying to ignore it, I'll teach you how to get curious about it. When you understand your overwhelm and stress, you can learn how to control and reduce it.

I’ll also introduce myself and tell you about my journey from overwhelmed working corporate mom to calm life coach.

You’ll also learn that I love naps and meditation - and that I’m bossy.

15 Apr 2023[Trailer] Welcome to Overwhelmed Working Woman : Master Time Management, Stop People Pleasing & Find Your Calm Using Mindfulness00:03:16

Welcome to the Overwhelmed Working Woman podcast with me, Michelle Gauthier. I’m a Life Coach, a single mom of 2, and a former overwhelmed working woman myself.

Podcasts were my lifeline during some of my toughest times. They gave me inspiration, insights, and tools that helped me to stay calm and focused even when everything around me felt like it was falling apart.

That's why I created Overwhelmed Working Woman. I want to help you feel less overwhelmed, less stressed and more calm by sharing the coaching, tips, and strategies that I use with my clients. No matter how busy or overwhelming your life feels, you can feel better if you implement what I teach in each episode.

If you have a never ending to-do list, say “yes” all the time to make other people happy, feel guilty for not working enough or momming enough (or both at the same time!) - this is the podcast for you.

If you love the podcast, it would be fantastic if you could review and subscribe. That way, other overwhelmed working women will see the podcast too. I want us ALL to feel better. Thank you for listening. Enjoy the show!

22 Apr 2023#02| How To Feel Less Overwhelmed by Identifying What's Actually in Your Control00:14:06

002 - This episode is all about what’s in your control - and what’s not! When you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed, taking the time to determine what you can control not only makes you feel better, but also gives you a “to do” list and a “to don’t” list.

Your own thoughts, feelings and actions are always in your control. What other people think about you or what they do is always out of your control. I’ll teach you a quick tool to reduce your stress by focusing on what’s in your control.

22 May 2023#07| The Secret Of Shifting From Stuck to Happy for a Less Overwhelming Life00:26:18

007 This week we have a guest on the podcast. I invited my friend and client Lauren Rapaport because she is a shining example of how you can take your life from stuck, overwhelmed and miserable to “the world is my oyster and I can have and create anything I want.”

In this episode, Lauren will tell you exactly how and what she did to create her new, happy life.

Sneak preview: she quit the job she hated and started a new business. She quit drinking and started feeling her feelings. She quit being in “victim mentality” and stopped beating herself up. She accepted her type 1 diabetes instead of hating it. She started loving life and having gratitude for everything.

To quote Lauren “I am just 100% happier than I was before”.

008 - If your home is cluttered, chances are your mind is, too. In today’s episode, I will teach you the simple steps for decluttering any space. Decluttering your entire house may sound very overwhelming, so I recommend that you start with a small space, like a sock drawer, and spend 30 minutes or less.

I’ll also cover the reasons why you shouldn’t keep clothes that don’t fit you, or hold on to items you no longer want but spent a lot of money on. I’ll help you lovingly let go of your great aunt’s table cloth that you never liked in the first place.

Join me and start letting go of what you DON’T want to create space and freedom in your home and your life.

I created a free decluttering guide that you can download and use for reference as you work on clearing out your space. Grab it here

07 Aug 2023#18| Transforming Overwhelmed to Fulfilled Using Mindfulness, with Tara Perman00:33:33

My guest today is my friend and former client Tara Perman. When we started coaching, Tara was feeling uninspired with her successful career of 23 years.

She was the primary parent in her household and COVID had taken its toll - she was frustrated with trying to manage everything. She knew she wanted to change careers, but was afraid to take the plunge.

The first thing we worked on was the idea that the fear of change was real and would always be there. Tara learned to move forward with her business while feeling the fear instead of waiting for it to go away. She stuck with her plan to become a career coach, even when it felt hard.

Things changed at home, too. She put in her notice before a family vacation, much earlier than she had previously planned. She fully enjoyed vacation with her family for the first time. She decided to spend the whole summer with her kids, without the stress of working, for the first time.

She marketed her new business even when it felt scary. When she felt stuck, she would just take one tiny step in the direction of her new life.

She now has a successful coaching business and just took a month-long vacation to Europe with her husband and kids for the second summer in a row.

Tune in and listen to Tara’s full story!

21 Aug 2023#20| Why You Need To Set Realistic Expectations If You Want to Reduce Overwhelm and Achieve Your Goals00:13:13

A big source of suffering in our lives is the gap between our expectations of a situation or a person and the reality of the situation or person - and the bigger the gap, the more the suffering.

The good news is that there is a way to protect yourself from some of that suffering before you even get into the situation or encounter the person. The key: setting realistic expectations.

Join me as we learn to adjust our expectations, allow for pleasant surprises, and side-step some serious stress - even at the DMV.

27 Nov 2023#34| The Truth About Overwhelm In Men & Dads, with Tommy Geary00:26:59

Today on the podcast we’re talking about Dads. (Yep, you read that right! 🤣)

I invited my friend and fellow coach Tommy Geary (who coaches overwhelmed and stressed out Dads) to be a guest expert today in an effort to help us understand the unique pressures that men face.

We dig into the challenges faced by fathers and the importance of their self care. Tommy explains the pressure men feel to be good providers and fathers simultaneously, the impact of that pressure on their mental health, and ways to navigate the journey of fatherhood successfully.

By seeking support, managing anger, and finding balance, dads can embrace the joys of fatherhood while nurturing their own well-being.

ALSO! Tommy and I had an in depth conversation about adoption (we each have 2 adopted children) which will come out later this month in support of National Adoption Month. 💗

25 Dec 2023#38| Building Families Through Adoption with Tommy Geary00:21:47

Welcome to Part 2 of my chat with Tommy Geary! This episode is mostly about our experiences with adoption - Tommy (and his wife) and I are both adoptive parents - but there are coaching nuggets in there as well.

Adoption is an incredibly beautiful, joyful, and heartbreaking journey, and I love to talk about it. Tommy and I share about the profound respect we have for our children's birth mothers and our crazy tales of being matched with our first babies so quickly we didn't even have car seats.

We also talk about the importance of the MGI (the most generous interpretation), feeling your feelings, and connecting with others who have similar experiences.

We hope our stories will resonate with those who have adopted, are considering adoption, or simply have a heart for this beautiful way of creating a family.
