Catherine Hardwicke's directorial debut, Thirteen, was definitely one of those films that was met with a lot of backlash thinking it was glamourizing aspects of teenage life that it certainly wasn't. You couldn't turn a corner at the time of its release without hearing the buzz around the movie, whether is was for or against it. We had the opportunity to revisit the film with Catherine whilst also talking about her new comedy, Mafia Mamma, which stars Toni Collette and Monica Bellucci.
