Mama, I see you, sitting on the sidelines, putting everyone else first, yet yearning to know when it will be “my turn” to be happy.
“I will ____ when ____”.
“I will take that dance class when the kids are older.”
Have you uttered a statement like that when talking about something that you are interested in doing for yourself that would give you happiness and joy? I have. Yet, recently, I’m learning that delaying and denying have only led to resentment and overwhelm.
In a world that overloads women with guilt, this conversation with Amber Trueblood is my guilt-free gift to you. My hope is to give you the space to grant yourself the permission to discover what makes you smile and to just do it already!

11 May 2021 | 31. Plant-based diet and meal prep tips for the curious beginner | 00:28:19
“What’s for dinner???” Does that question make you want to run and hide??? For a non-cook like me, the answer is an emphatic “YES!!!” It’s too easy to go to a nearby drive-thru, which I’ve done more times than I like to admit. But what if it was possible to prepare healthy meals quickly and efficiently?
In this episode, I had a great conversation with Faith VanderMolen, whose simple yet tasty recipes give me so much hope! Also, if you are curious about what it takes to incorporate plant-based foods into your diet or maybe even transition into a plant-based diet, this episode is for you!
Faith has a growing YouTube channel, Conscientious Eating with Faith where she has value-packed and simple how-to videos featuring her delicious and healthy vegan meals. She also has a recipe book available for purchase on Amazon called Plant Biased: 90+ Easy Recipes and Essential Guide for the Plant-Based Beginner.
What I appreciated most about Faith is how she encouraged me that it is possible to prepare healthy meals quickly and efficiently even if you work 40 plus hours a week.
I hope you enjoy this conversation with Faith.
More about Faith: Faith is first and foremost a wife and mother. For the past six years, she and her husband have lived as ex-pats in various countries throughout Southeast Asia. The challenges associated with living overseas forced her to become creative with her cooking, and thus The Conscientious Eater was born, a place where she shares her passion for healthy, plant-based recipes and food photography. Now with two young kids, her focus has shifted to creating a holistic approach to not only her own diet but that of her entire family.

15 Apr 2023 | 74 | Getting Organized Is A Form Of Self-Care...Do You Agree or Disagree? | 00:29:32
Today's special guest is Professional Organizer Holly Perez, owner of H.A.P. Organizing Solutions. Join us as we talk about how getting organized is a form of self-care. Holly also shares actionable tips and her own journey with getting organized. The term "self-care" has been a marketing buzzword lately, and it evokes mixed feelings for many, including myself. An article I found on Yahoo states that the term "self-care" has "become so big and amorphous that it can be difficult to suss out what it really is at its core and why it matters." While we didn't take the time to dig into the history of self-care and how it became so popular, we considered getting organized as a way for us to take better care of ourselves. If you're like me, I feel at peace when I know that my environment is in order. I feel like I can breathe easier when I know I can find things quickly and easily. But if these feelings continue to elude you as they did me for many years, know that there is always hope and help. And the bonus? You get to take care of your overall well-being by getting organized. Are you ready to go from chaos to calm? Pop on those earbuds, friend, and join the conversation.
About Holly Perez: Holly is the owner of H.A.P. Organizing Solutions. H.A.P. stands for multiple things: Happy and Productive, Home and Paper, Harmonious and Peaceful, and my initials, Holly A. Perez. As a full-time work-from-home mom, I know the feeling of overwhelm while dealing with the everyday paper that piles up everywhere in the home office, kitchen, car, closet, and more. I offer group workshops and one-on-one sessions to help solve the problem for good. My goal is to assist you in being happy and productive, while reducing the stress and overwhelm so that you can focus on what matters most. 17 Jan 2021 | 23. How to turn your "SHOULD" into a SCHEDULED ACTION so you can have success with any organizing project | 00:14:40
Do you keep "shoulding" on yourself? How do you use the word "should" when you are thinking about decluttering and organizing your home, your schedule, or yourself?
I found a quote on Facebook that said "Someday is not a day of the week" and it made me laugh. I believe this goes along the same line of thought as this "should" obstacle. See, many of us say things like, "Someday I should clean out my closet".
My hope is that you will stop "shoulding" on yourself after listening to this episode!

03 Jul 2024 | 86 | Moving and Downsizing Do's and Don'ts: Secrets to a Stress-Free Fresh Start | 00:39:03
Let's face it: moving is stressful and challenging on many fronts - emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially. Yet, each year, tens of millions of people in the US relocate from their place of birth or current residence to another location within the same city, county, state, country, or abroad for many reasons. (Read more at: https://www.mymovingreviews.com/move/how-often-and-why-americans-move/) During these moves, we tend to accumulate belongings along the way, and the next thing we know, we have more stuff than we know what to do with. In this episode, I chatted with Deanna Yates about this very topic and how minimalism has played a significant role in her life of relocating 16 times in the past 20 years. She provided listeners with practical decluttering and downsizing advice for those who are ready to let go and who crave more space in their homes and lives. I hope you enjoy and are helped by this conversation with Deanna. Deanna Yates is the busy mama behind the top-ranking podcast, Wannabe Clutter Free, where she helps other busy families learn how to let go of the stuff holding them back so they can enjoy more time together, stop spending their weekends cleaning house, and wake up excited for the day ahead. Deanna is mom to one daughter, wife to a startup entrepreneur, and is living her dream life in San Diego, CA. When she's not helping clients realize their dreams, you can find her on her Peloton, searching for the tastiest breakfast burrito, or balancing her love of a good Target run with living clutter-free in her own home.

05 Oct 2021 | 39. Unveiling the impact of workplace burnout and how to take action | 00:53:57
In this episode, I had a conversation with Tumboura Hill, my friend, and former colleague, about his journey in, through, and out of workplace burnout. If you have the slightest suspicion that you are experiencing workplace burnout, this episode is for you. I then found an article titled "The World Health Organization officially recognizes workplace 'burnout' as an occupational phenomenon, " published in May 2019, written by Ashley Turner. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/28/who-recognizes-workplace-burnout-as-an-occupational-phenomenon.html The WHO (World Health Organization) says it is a syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. I cheered this article because I felt that though workplace burnout has long existed, it is rarely talked about and in 2019, it is finally included in the latest revision of the International Classification of Diseases. My feelings quickly turned into sadness and anger because it is indeed a problem that is rarely talked about and often dismissed or minimized either by the person experiencing it or the workplace that refuses to acknowledge it. The consequences and impact are alarming, as you will hear in this episode with Tumboura. May this episode help you stop and assess where you are and bring you hope that there is light at the end of the burnout tunnel.
Here for you, Grace

"I have nothing to wear" is a common statement we make when it's time to get dressed for the day or for an event. But do we, really, have nothing to wear?
Also, did you know that we only wear 20% of the amount of clothing that we have? Is it possible to simply keep that 20% and forget the rest? Asking 4 simple questions can help. Tune in to this episode and find out!

07 Aug 2020 | 12. How overwhelm and high expectations sabotages your success towards a more organized life | 00:12:59
Have you been feeling like a hamster on a wheel lately since the stay at home order back in March? Let me be the first to raise my hand with an emphatic "yes"! In this episode, I share with you the two most common reasons that I believe are blocking us from moving forward with being more organized.
I agree with many who say that organization is NOT one-size-fits-all so I encourage you to not compare your journey to someone else's. Instead, focus just on you, how you have been feeling and I hope to be your friendly guide to help you get where you want to go in your personal organization. Let's discover these two common reasons so we can begin to move through them.

26 Feb 2023 | 72 | ONE Question You Need To Ask Yourself When Distractions Try To Derail Your Decluttering Project | 00:18:19
Do you find yourself distracted even after you've scheduled a time to declutter a particular area in your home? Something that you deem more important comes up. You receive a phone call or text message that "needs" your attention. Someone needs something from you. Mind you, this happens within the short 15 minutes that you try to declutter, even just a bedside table. My friend, you are definitely not alone on this. No one is immune to distractions (not even a professional organizer), especially in this day and age where everything and everyone are vying for our attention. Take a listen to this episode as we explore an important question we need to ask ourselves when distractions come DURING our decluttering time.
***Grab your DECLUTTER GUIDE by clicking HERE and you will receive helpful tips and strategies to get started TODAY.***
Click HERE to read the blog post I referred to about defeating distraction written by Erin Pavlicek. As I mentioned, it's spiritual in nature. Don't feel like you have to share the beliefs of the writer (or mine) for the content to be useful for you.

Receipts. Legal documents. Paper bills. Magazines. Work papers. Random notes you wrote on Post-Its. Grocery lists. To-do lists. All. The. Paper. With these ongoing incoming papers, it can really become frustrating when they pile up and you hardly know what to do with them. We then stash them away while we hope they would disappear on their own, except, they don't and they leave us frustrated and overwhelmed. Can you relate? I've been there too! Join me and my guest, friend, and fellow professional organizer, Emily Lowry, as she walks us through how to tackle these papers so that you no longer have to feel stressed out, especially when you can't find that one piece of paper that you need right away. 01 Mar 2022 | 50 // Celebrating 50 Episodes With Real-Life Working Mom and Top Listener, Danielle Esbit-Ayala | 00:34:55
In these challenging times in our world, it seems more difficult to celebrate, even our smallest wins. I sometimes get into "self-guilt" mode and think, "How can I celebrate when people are suffering?" I quickly realized that this helps no one, especially myself. Instead, I have been shifting my thoughts and words into, "I care and will do my part about what is happening currently AND express cheer and gratefulness for life, accomplishments, and personal wins (large and small)." My podcasting journey has not been an easy road with a couple of starts and stops but I am thankful to still be here, continuing on for you. There is no better way to highlight this milestone than having a conversation with Danielle Esbit-Ayala, my friend, co-worker, and top listener of Organize with Grace. 12 Apr 2022 | 53 // Realistic Minimalism For Working Moms with Littles- It Is More Sustainable Than You Think | 00:22:59
Joshua Becker of Becoming Minimalist defines minimalism as “the intentional promotion of the things that bring you joy and the removal of those that do not.” Years ago, I pictured minimalism as a nearly empty room with just a table, chair, and may one frame hanging on the wall. Boring! It was a foreign concept to me and didn't really care for it. It could be that I had certain fears that if I adopted it, I would have to get rid of my most precious possessions. Hints of guilty feelings about having too much stuff, I suspect, also kept me away from the true essence of minimalism. Today, I am rethinking these beliefs and am excited that it's probably going to be one of the best things to happen to me (or for me to make happen, that is) and I may already be on the path. Hmmmm... Join me and my new friend, Desireé Robinson, as we chat about what she refers to as "realistic minimalism". Desireé is a wife, mom of two littles, a homesteader, and passionate about helping moms live an intentional, mindful, and meaningful lifestyle. She currently hosts a podcast called "Unprocessed Momma Intentional Lifestyle" where moms can find support with realistic minimalism and eliminating toxins. 29 Dec 2021 | 44 \\ Ready to turn your home buying dreams into reality? Here are the right steps and tips from an expert realtor! | 00:19:07
Home buying can feel exciting yet nerve-wracking and many say that it's the biggest purchase you will probably ever make. Ha! No pressure, right??? Have you dreamed about owning a home someday? Hey, it's great to dream because I believe it all starts with a dream!
As you continue to declutter and organize your current dwelling, it may compel you to think "we need more space". Now, that thought may not lead you to take the steps towards home buying, but even if you're still in the dreaming and planning phase, this episode will still benefit you, as we take a bird's-eye view and the right steps towards home buying.
You don't have to feel overwhelmed and definitely don't need to spend your precious time and energy to become the expert, but allow an expert like David to assist you in navigating through the process.
David Gonzales, Jr. is a realtor at Livermore Valley Real Estate with over 25 years of experience in both mortgage and real estate. He owned a brokerage in Pleasanton, CA for several years. Fun fact about David: He loves the holiday season.
****There is one item we didn't get to talk about within the interview, which is regarding the importance of your credit scores and credit card bills, and here is a tip from David:
Work on getting your credit scores up by paying off credit card bills and paying them on time. Even paying off the smallest ones makes a huge difference. A credit score of 580 and above can help.

When you think of prayer, what comes to mind? Definitely not organizing your home, right? So why am I bringing prayer up in a podcast for organizing and decluttering? For me, prayer has been integral and important in my journey into a more organized life. In prayer, I get to quiet my mind and heart. It helps me to center around what’s important in my life. It brings calmness to my day. It produces peace in my heart. For me, helps me face the chaos that happens in life. You may experience prayer in other ways, like meditating. You may have a totally different set of beliefs than me. Do know that you continue to be welcome here, you are seen and you are loved, always! Join me and Sonia Cameron, Author and Career Advisor, as we have a conversation about the impact that prayer can have as you navigate and organize your job search if that is the season you are in. 07 Sep 2021 | 37. Your most powerful parenting tool (with Infant and Toddler Development Consultant, Tracy Grewe) | 00:26:59
As a new parent, I sometimes feel I'm living on a deserted island, with no rescue in sight. I survive one tantrum after another while trying to figure out what's for dinner. Can you relate?
Well friend, take a deep breath with me (and exhale!) and know you are not alone, and this interview episode is for you. Tracy Grewe, Infant and Toddler Development Consultant, will help us discover and effectively use our most powerful parenting tool.
Tracy has 20+ years of experience as a Certified Association Montessori International Instructor running a Montessori school. As Chairman of the Board of a non-profit organization for over 20 years, she raised funds to support Montessori education for children. For over 5 years, she has worked with a non-profit organization "Speak Up Stand Up Save a Life" which empowers children to help each other and stand up when they have a friend in need.
Purely out of a passion for helping parents feel more confident and knowledgeable she has shared the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori along with her personal experiences as a Mother through parent workshops, while also gathering ideas from the parents she worked with. Nurture Newbies was created as a digital resource for parents containing the knowledge she has gathered over the years. Not only is it designed to provide parents tools so they can be a step ahead of their child’s development but more importantly practical ideas to help turn overwhelm into confidence, and allow the parents to consciously support the development of independent and empowered kids.

29 Mar 2023 | 73 | This Book Could Solve Our Paper Problems | 00:19:24
Avalanche. Tsunami. Mountains. Oceans. Would these words accurately describe the amount of paper that we process throughout our lifetime? Let me share a statistic used by the book I am about to introduce to you: "The average American household processes a paper stack as high as a two-story house every year." Imagine that! So maybe it's not outlandish to describe our paper as an avalanche, tsunami, etc. Even with massive technological advances and a push for a paperless (or at least less paper) society, paper is here to stay, and it only continues to overwhelm us and our homes. What's the solution? I am glad you asked. Listen in as I talk with you more about paper organization and THE book that could solve our paper problems, written by Lisa Woodruff called Paper Solution: What To Shred, What To Save, and How To Stop It from Taking Over Your Life. Also, check out Episode 68 where I talked with my friend Emily Lowry about how to get your paper organized. She is certified to teach Lisa's Sunday Basket system (mentioned in the book).

11 Dec 2020 | 21. What stories are you telling yourself that keep you stuck? Ready for a change? Listen to this. | 00:11:10
Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny. -Gandhi
I've found variations of this quote from other big names, including Margaret Thatcher and Stephen Covey. What we believe has the potential to become our destiny in life. In this episode, I talk briefly about how we can change the same old stories in our minds that keep us stuck in order to move forward with our journey to a more organized life.
