25 Jul 2022On The Runs 21 - Mike Beeman Part 1 - 45 Boston Marathons and Counting01:30:01

Sometimes you just happen to get lucky and are standing on the starting line to a local fun race and just happen to be standing next to a local running legend. That is what happened to us a few weeks ago when we met our next guest Mike Beeman.
Mike has currently run 45 straight Boston Marathons and yes that's very impressive, but there is so much more to Mike's story. From walking off  the football team, not telling his basketball coach that he planned to run a marathon in the middle of the season, to tearing both his quadricep tendons at the same time and being told he'll never run again.
Part 1 is here and its filled with Boston Stories, next week Part 2 will have some of Mike's most proudest moments as he shares how he was able to use running to help others.

Plus Eric's little girl Adaline makes a quick podcast appearance, Erika wishes Eric happy birthday and Eric starts to build a plan to his next few triathlons.

Introducing "OTR Classic's"
During occasional off weeks we'll replay a classic from our early days of the Pod. Due to illness (Eric lost his voice) there will be no new episode this week. So we figured it would be a great time to drop our first OTR Classic!

We'll be back next week with out thoughts on spectating the Boston Marathon and soon we'll have multiple runners from the Marathon on the Pod to share their experience just like Denise and Sarah did last year.

20 Jun 2023On The Runs 62 - Karen Jordan - KJ Runs01:06:35

We are excited to bring you our guest this week, Karen Jordan, but many of you call her KJ!
KJ is a local NH runner who joined us to tell us about her journey and what it's like living in Keene NH. She's a bartender, a run coach, a huge Shalane Flanagan and she's willing to give everything a shot, once (Instagram pic).

For our intro and outro we had some audio issues. Even 62 episodes in we're not perfect. We decided to not have our normal intro and outro because the quality was not up to our standards. We'll do better next time and make it up to you, sorry (insert sad face emoji)

01 Aug 2023On The Runs 66 - Todd Pikor - Mega Todd01:56:02

No Dunks, Starbucks only, those are the rules as Todd Pikor (21:50) joined up for a fun episode on the Pod. Todd shares stories about a broken toe, arrhythmia problems, bike bitches and his goals for the 2033 (yes 2033) Boston Marathon. We dive into his social media game on Instagram and how he's all about the pumpkin spiced latte.

Before we get to our interview with Todd. We open the show and talk about Eric's weekend at Mount Washington. But the story isn't so much about the hike, it's about the drive there and the tree that got in the way. We end the show with a little talk about who's the most nervous, what to expect for future OTR LIVE shows on YouTube and a little Anchor Down Ultra talk as it's less than 2 weeks away!

In Episode 67 (oops we said 68 in the intro) we are excited to finally drop our interview with Jeannie Rice (07:00). She shares with us stories of how she got her start, some of her favorite races around the world and her experience at the Boston Marathon in 2013 during the bombing.

We had some audio issues during the recording the the audio on our end (Eric and Erika not Jeannie) wasn't that great. We did what we could to make it better but it's far from perfect. We apologize for the audio issue, but our time with Jeannie was too good not to share. We hope you enjoy the episode despite the audio issue.

During the tros we catch up after having a great weekend. We talk about Marc "the Shark" DuBrick who had a great day at the PTO US Open. We discuss Anchor Down that is coming up this weekend and more!

It's October and for the 2nd year in a row we are brining back our Breast Cancer Awareness Month Series as we'll have on some amazing and inspiring women who's lives were impacted by breast cancer. Running and the Running community played a big part in their story and we hope you'll really enjoy the series again this year.

On todays episode, we welcome Jaye Duncan to the pod (00:22:00). Jaye is no stranger to us over the past year. We first got to meet and get to know Jaye at the 5k for Jaye that her friends Justine and Nicole put on to raise money for Jaye and her family as they were dealing with her diagnosis. Jaye shares a lot with us from her personal life and things she likes to do to her whole breast cancer story. We so happy to have her on the pod and think you'll enjoy hearing her story.

Last weekend Erika completed her first 100 miler and as we spoke about last week, we might need to call in a sub for her co-hosting duties this week. It worked out perfectly that Nicole Bryant was able to fill in for Erika. Eric and Nicole spent a lot of time catching up in both the Intro and Outro. Hope you enjoy our conversation and at the end you'll learn that Nicole has a new athlete she added to her run coaching program, we wounder who that could be?

26 Oct 2023OTR Classic - Best of 2022 Breast Cancer Awareness Month00:55:42

With this being our 2nd year hosting a breast cancer awareness month series talking to amazing women who battled breast cancer, we wanted to take a moment to remember the first few who we hosted on the pod last year in October. In October of 2022 we talked to Nicky, Jackie and Angela. All 3 were like an open book, sharing with us so many details of not just breast cancer, but their life before during and after. We hear about Nicky and the meals program she was a part of and ran for. Jackie shares her story about being an active mom and teacher who had to take a year off to fight. And Angela who wasn't afraid to share anything with us and has had an active ear and friend to talk too for all the women out there going through the same thing as she did.

Their stories and lives are amazing and inspirational, they are some of the most courageous women you'll ever meet. We really hope you enjoy these mini best of clips and if you haven's listened to the entire episode. Go give them a listen.
