Nate Haller broke out into the country music scene in March 2021 with his debut single “Lightning In a Bottle”. After playing guitar for The Reklaws and Kira Isabella, Nate Haller traded in his fedora for a ball cap and stepped into the spotlight. In our chat with Nate, we talked about a lot more than just slinging guitar and his Nate Hall to Haller evolution. If you’ve had a chance to connect with Nate Haller, you’ll know he doesn’t take himself too seriously. That’s why he suited up as “Chip Wreck” on The Reklaws’ Winter’s a Beach Tour. He shared a little more about his new single, “Ain’t Like Me”, which for him is about how he and his girlfriend ended up together. He blew her away wearing a wine-stained tank top and crocs and socks. Jenna and Nate reminisced on the high school days; they didn’t go to school together, but Nate did tour the local high schools and play for students at lunch hour. Parker Graye first joined us “On the Porch” for Season 1 Episode 4, in 2022. Since then, Parker has solidified herself as an emerging talent in Canadian country music. She’s played Boots and Hearts, earned a Top 40 with her single “Good at Gettin’ Gone”, and participated as a semi-finalist in SiriusXM’s Top of the Country competition. In March 2024, Parker released her debut EP, Lyin’ to Me, which earned her top slots on DSP playlist and her first billboard at Yonge and Dundas Square with Amazon Music. At the 2024 CCMAs, Parker was a featured artist on the CCMA Songwriters Unplugged sessions. We recapped these big milestones with Parker in our latest conversation. We also talked about her transition to Nashville, building her circle, and evolving as a songwriter. Parker has some big goals for the next year - but one thing is certain, she’s ‘leaving room for the magic’. We spent release day with Jess Moskaluke as she celebrated her first single in over a year. Jess recently released her single “Life For Me”; a creative departure that remains true to her evolved sound. She mentioned how “Life For Me” is if her 2020 single “Map Dot” had a cool older sister. We also talked about how “Map Dot” connected with so many people across Canada - whether they were from small map dot towns, or had some small town that was special for them. We talked about Jess’ “eras”, and what that means for her. She’s been releasing music for a long time, and for her, it’s about her own evolution, the things she’s experienced, and being true to herself - no matter the era. For her - that’s pretty important too. She’s received criticism over the years for not being country enough and being too Nashville. We also touched on her venture into the business side and management. After over a decade in the business, she’s got a lot of experience under her belt and has decided to share that with some emerging artists she’s working with.

Lucas Mason grew up in a musical household - so much so that his brother is part of his band. It wasn’t until he was bound and determined to get on stage with Zach Bryan, and it actually happening, that he began to crave a career performing. Lucas released his debut EP in January titled Almost 18, where he dives into the feelings and frustrations of being, well, 18. It all started when Lucas went viral on TikTok for his performance at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto with Zach Bryan on the Quittin’ Time tour. In 2024, he wrote his first songs, played his first live shows, including the North of Nowhere Music Festival, and released his first EP. RELATED: Lucas is one of our Artists to Watch in 2025 … Our chat with Lucas was a reminder of just how long ago high school was for our entire team (sigh). Now, Lucas is working on more music and has released his brand new single “Messed Up Kid”.

We invited Taylor-Rae back to the podcast - it’s been four years since we first chatted with her On The Porch! It’s safe to say a lot has changed since then. Taylor-Rae has since released her EP titled Honest and started working on a brand new project that will be out this spring. She’s won BCCMA Awards for Female Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (If This Is Love). She also made her CMA Fest debut in 2024. Taylor-Rae also made some “Alberta Plan” with tour stops in Calgary and Edmonton in February, where she brought along friend, Antonio Larosa. Her latest single “Bittersweet”, written with Lydia Sutherland, Aaron Pollock and David Evans, is about cutting off a relationship when it’s time and not dragging things out longer than necessary.
