His first two releases in 2006, “Monster” and “Yellow Kitchen” were released on the Berlin label Autist Records. A few EPs later, Boris moved from Autist Records to Harthouse. With tracks like “Die Maschinen Sind Gestrandet” and “Lost Memory”, he combined his unique sound with a maximum of varieties. Consequently, he became the “exceptional Talent 2007” in the electronic music magazine Raveline. Boris also created his second alias called “ANNA” in 2007 and had some groundbreaking releases on Autist Records. After four years of touring, three albums and lots of singles, Boris became a constant favorite in today's club scene. With his ambition and desire for new and experimental musical directions, he shows his audiences over and over again how exciting minimal techno can be - so much more than just a conglomerate of repetitive and puristic elements. “High-Tech Minimal” Boris created his own music genre “High-Tech Minimal” in 2012 which has often been referred to as “the intelligent music of tomorrow”. After seven years of working together with Harthouse and his fourth album “Feuerfalter”, Boris founded his own label called “Fckng Serious”. Together with his best friends Ann Clue and Deniz Bul they want to spread their idea of good music and serious parties around the globe. “Fckng Serious” In the beginning of 2016, Boris came up with his 5th album called “22”. His unbelievable passion for music combined with the longtime experience as a producer for different genres fuses into this exclusive distinctive and very special sound. Beside that, Boris created his own “Boris Brejcha In Concert” show which he first played in Brazil in 2016. These events, a combination of synced visuals, his Joker mask and his music, are a special and unique experience.
Just a year later we also saw Boris making his much-anticipated debut at Tomorrowland, the Exit Festival as well as the legendary Time Warp. A second sold-out bus tour, this time through France, proved to be successful yet again. In General, things didn't get any slower but even bigger than ever before. Boris’ success story received a further boost in 2019. He already enjoys a superstar status around the world, but that’s not enough yet. He sold out huge clubs in the USA within minutes and almost everyone knows him. It is impossible to imagine the techno scene without him and he has earned his place there. Many new singles appeared in 2019 and the number of his listeners spoke volumes. Since 2019 Boris is also under contract with the well-known label “Ultra Music”. His music has also been played on the radio. With his specially created “Boris Brejcha in Concert” shows, he filled huge halls with up to 15,000 people without any problems. In 2020, his success story begins even more promisingly than in the previous year. He started the year with a long-awaited album “Space Diver” and he has already had a talk show appearance on German television. His name already adorns numerous line-ups of the most famous festivals around the world. USA, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Spain, Chile, Colombia are just a few of the countries where Boris will be performing again this year. Teho was born in 1990 in a small town near Montpellier, in the south of France. At the age of 11, a bass guitar in hand, he tries to play all the songs he likes. He discovered the world of electronic music when he was 15 but it was two years later that he decided to start producing music after seeing Daft Punk in concert. Also inspired by the musical universe of the legendary club Bar Live After, it naturally turns towards a melodic techno style influenced by artists such as James Holden, or even Stephan Bodzin. In 2010, aged 20, Teho signed his first EPs, one of them included a remix by Traumer. That year, he also had his first gigs in Montpellier and Paris, playing with a “Live set” format. During one of those gigs, he met NTO who, later, helped Teho in his creative process, notably by making him a remix. In 2012, he went to play abroad for the first time at the "Module" club in Tokyo (Japan), followed by gigs in Germany, Belgium and England. In 2014, after several label signatures, Teho marked a turning point in his career when he released two EPs on the prestigious Stephan Bodzin's label, Herzblut recordings. His career started then to grow, he had increasingly more gigs, and Teho began to make his own name in the world of electronic music. In 2016, in search of greater artistic freedom, Teho created his own label “Labo T”, a sound laboratory where he could experiment new styles and new aspects of his music. In 2017, in parallel of his label projects, Teho also signed an EP on Traum Schallplatten and a single on Agoria’s label, Sapiens. It was also during that year that he participated for the first time on the Cercle show for a Live Set streamed from Colorado Provençal in Rustrel, France. Continuing to assert his musical identity, and joining the line-ups of major festivals such as I Love Techno Europe in 2018 or Panoramas Festival in 2019, Teho had the desire to create a long format album. Entitled « Polytone », this first LP will finally be released in February 2020 on Labo T. He had the support of Joris Delacroix, Joachim Pastor and Ron Flatter, with remixes made by them especially this project. In May 2021, when the pandemic seemed to be fading away, Teho was once again on a Cercle show, but this time for a short format story filmed at Glacier 3000 in Switzerland. This video received an important echo in worldwide medias and TVs such as the Times magazine, BBC, CBS News, or even France TV. Today, counting several millions plays on his tracks, and playing his music all over the world, Teho has found his place in the electronic music scene. One night he was at Arc for Danny Tenaglia's "Be Yourself" party and all it took was one moment and one song set him on the path to become a DJ. Spending the most of that decade learning the art of beatmatching and mixing with vinyl, he eventually started to gain local attention with some promoters. In 2007, under the name "Cheric" he landed his first residency at Rebel NYC. A year later, he went to become a resident for ILoveHouseMusicNYC.com which eventually led to his first big break in 2010 with the Groove Cruise Miami. 2010 was also the same year he decided he wanted to produce the music and not just play it. While learning how to produce, he created a group called Static & Bass with a childhood friend and Trance DJ. The duo went on to become residents at Pacha NYC and in 2013 they won the Discovery Project and was invited to play his first Festival at EDC NY. Uninspired by the direction his music was taking him, in 2015 he went solo and completely changed his sound. Original Words by Manute Bol It’s great to see John and Nick back together in the studio again! At times it can seem something of an eternity between releases from this now legendary duo. As Bedrock they have over the years become synonymous with releases of the very highest quality. When work began on ‘Gridlock’ earlier this year, the original intention was for it to be the next single release. All this changed however, when the end result clocked in at a mind blowing 25 minutes! The idea was then hit upon by John to include it as a bonus disc on the release of the next in his series of mixes Transitions Vol.3, Renaissance. Select premiers of the track to friends followed and buzzing from their reactions, the duo quickly returned back to the studio to produce club friendly mixes which now form this release. Up first, the main stereo club mix. Taking the atmospheric route, opening with lush string pads, there’s a slightly anthemic feel, but in a clever understated way. There’s an echoing of the duo’s trademark sound, but it’s undergone some slight refinement. The result is an incorporation of today’s more experimental glitch sounds and some more altogether darker twists. A growling staccato bass line drives the track along with the groove, always the integral element for John and Nick in their tracks. An ethereal vocal effect teases its way in and out of the mix and some nice Rhodes piano chords appear to give a softer shading. There’s plenty of crazy synth modulation to keep the momentum flowing and this take us through to around six minutes. Here the strings return in all their glory and these help to produce a euphoric ending to close out the track. This review wouldn’t feel complete without mentioning the full-extended mix version. As I said earlier this clocks in at a breathe taking 25 minutes in length! Not since the heady days of 1995/96 and epic house have tracks ventured into this territory! Back then, a track was labelled self indulgent if it reached the 14-minute mark! All I can say is this simply has to be heard to be believed and for me it’s the essential mix out of the three! Whether this proves to be a rare studio outing for John and Nick only time will tell. There’s a lot to maintain with John’s relentless Djing schedule and successful worldwide Transitions radio show and pod cast. Gridlock’ has certainly wet the appetite for more, so let hope we don’t have to wait nearly as long again for a follow up! | |||

Solace finds RÜFÜS DU SOL charting new territory, exploring deeper subgenres and more potent lyricism for an entirely new side to the group. “It’s about finding a sense of hope in a darker time,” the trio says. From making music on the piano aged 8 to convincing his parents to buy him a keyboard so he could make his own Depeche Mode tracks it was always “just a bit of fun.” However, with his debut artist album set to hit the world this summer, ic’s key loves of house, techno and electro will see him bring all of his styles under one roof for the first time as his underground club roots come to the fore. A bonefide global chart smash in the making, it’s surprising just how far a bit of ‘fun’ can go. Going back to 1994 Eric became the drummer in a synth band called ‘Enemy Alliance’, touring Sweden and dreaming of becoming the next Kraftwerk. He jacked his job in, hooked up with two friends who had a small studio set up making more pop based material and lived the next two years virtually penniless - working on his own hard-hitting, techno-funk tracks and DJing locally when gigs came up. Eric’s first release came about almost by accident. Having made a bunch of new material solely on a Roland MC-505 Groovebox he gave a cassette to a friend who ran a clothing store in Stockholm. Eventually finding its way to the London offices of EMI’s New Religion, in 2000 they released ‘By Your Side’/Mr. Jingles’ and Eric was at last on the hallowed grooves of black vinyl. After the success of that initial release, EMI moved Eric to their flagship dance label Credence. A remix of the boogie bassline driven ‘Mr Jingles’ together with two new tracks followed and ‘EP1’ formed the first of three hugely successful releases. By the time ‘EP3’ came around, Eric had developed into one of the hottest names in house music and the original version of ‘Slammin’ from EP3 became the biggest instrumental tune on Ibiza in the summer of 2003. As an in demand producer the remix offers were flying in. Defining moments like his work on fellow Swede Steve Angello’s ‘Voices’ & Woz Not Woz firmly established Eric’s trademark electronic sound and he went on to remix the likes of The Shapeshifter’s, Alter Ego, Pet Shop Boys and Switch to name but a few. Then things went a bit crazy. A record that he made to play out for friends in Stockholm that sampled a vocal hook from Stevie Winwood’s ‘Valerie’ became a local club anthem off the back of just six dub plates. A year later in 2004 ‘Call On Me’ was out on Ministry of Sound’s Data imprint, topping half the national charts of Europe and remaining at number 1 for six weeks in the UK, generating sales of over 2.5 million units worldwide. As Mouseville Records and Pryda Recordings continue to deliver the dancefloor goods, Eric Prydz is now one of the world’s most in demand underground spinners and producers. It was an unusual way to approach the US market but a life time dream inspired by quite possibly the two coolest chics ever to grace the big screen.
