'I gotta meet this guy, Dr. Bob,' ...and Bob responded. With his fedora hat, Dr. Bob, the eye doctor, lives in Rancho Rancho Cucamonga, CA... "I think that is where he lives?" Anyway, Dr. Bob, the eye guy, is gonna be in New York! So Bob shows up in the studio.

Dr. Bob, is 66 years old, has tons of drive and feels like he is just getting started. Just goes to show ya, no matter what you do, it's never too late. Give a listen.

A Little Snack: Named the Seenager side profile.

Looking in the mirror is always fun, isn't it. Or how bout those old photos from, you know a while back. Things change and you just need to keep your humor about all of it.

This is a little snack about some of it.

‘On Hold’ For Customer Service! Again!! 

 Getting to a Customer Service ‘Human’ these days has become an extreme sport. You could even liken it to a sadistic game show. Your full range of human emotions rear themselves as you make your way through the customer service on hold obstacle course. 

 Dialing a customer service number is easy enough. The mission still feels hopeful and pleasant while you listen to your choice of ‘press number’ options even if you occasionally zone out in this early phase where you must have heard the options but somehow you didn’t pay attention and now you’re in the phone tree do-over. At this point you’re only annoyed at yourself.

 Things start to change with the lead up to the cliffhanger moment when the nice automated lady reveals ‘your expected wait time’. At this point they should just come right out and say;

 “We know this is really gonna piss you off so it's your call if you want to wait”. 

 Charlie and I take it from there, in this episode of The Official Teenagers, can’t make this up

Do you know how you always get the same lines wrong to the same songs year after year and never realize it until one day you do and have a giant belly laugh? Well, that’s what our show is about today. We’ve chosen a few songs that trip us up and have a few laughs about the ones we know others continue to mess up. And then there’s that song “Teenager In Love” that I love because it’s historically been the only song I can get up and sing at karaoke because I know all the words. But seeing as how we’re now ‘Seenagers’ vs. Teenagers, we figured this song needed an upgrade on the words we might relate better to. So I rewrote them. And we dedicate the new version to all the ‘Seenagers In Love’ who are long married, recently coupled or still seeking…Because it’s important everybody knows …It’s great to be a Seenagers in Love! With Billy Sample, former major league baseball player. Billy spent a combined nine years, from 1978-1986 playing for the Texas Rangers, New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves. Billy is a native of Roanoke Virginia and grew up in Salem, Virgina. Billy is known for his funny quit witt. Other MLB professionals nicknamed him "The example, Billy Sample.

William "Billy" Sample, professional baseball player turned broadcaster and filmmaker, has added another feather to his cap in a long history of success: published author.

The former outfielder who played for the Texas Rangers, the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves circa 1978 to 1986, has captured that magical time in his youth and channeled it into an anecdotal book he independently published in June called, "A Year in Pinstripes... And Then Some."

In the book - the cover of which features a retro photo of Sample donning his No. 11 Yankee uniform in batter stance - Sample quips that he attributes his love of English and writing to "good-looking" school teachers. Apart from his baseball career, Sample has always been a writer, taking various broadcasting jobs for the Braves and Seattle Mariners and contributing to CBS Radio, EPSN and MajorLeagueBaseball.com.

He has also been published in slew of newspapers and magazines from USA Today's Sports Weekly, to Sports Illustrated and The New York Times. He even wrote a screenplay for a film called "Reunion 108," a comedy which was released in 2013 about two generations of pro baseball players returning for a reunion game. The work earned top honors in the Best Unproduced Screenplay Category at the 2011 Hoboken Film Festival.

"I think after all these years I enjoy writing more than anything else," said Sample.

And it shows in his work.

In "Pinstripes," Sample sets the stage on a baseball diamond in 1985 and tells the entire story of his eight-year stint in baseball - a sport that he holds dear in his heart and helped shape the rest of his career. The 61-year-old father of three said he was 15 when he made a "conscious decision" he was going to pursue baseball.

"I love its history," he explained, "and I love [what] it means to a lot of people. There's a timeline in baseball that's like none other... My aunt took me to my first game in Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium. [There are] memories as a family or as a care unit that are hard to duplicate in other sports. [The] setting, the pace of the game allows for memories that will be etched in your mind forever."

Sample takes readers back to his humble upbringing in Salem, Va. to his glory days at Andrew Lewis High School where the 5-foot 9-inch powerhouse was an outstanding multi-sport athlete in baseball, football and basketball. He goes on to write about his first draft by the Rangers while attending Madison College (now James Madison University) in the mid-1970s.

"I think no matter what I've done, I've tried to enhance people's appreciation of the game," said Sample of writing the book. "It's easier to do as a player [and] live vicariously through the actions I've emitted on the field." He continued, "As a writer, I have a venue where I can steer you to enjoyable parts of the game in which you're going to learn something you didn't know before... or open up an area

That Joe Namath he's a funny guy. Cracked up when I saw DraftKings drafted him for their Super Bowl Commercial called "Fortune: Life's A Gamble'. First, Joe was lounging at the pool surrounded by admirers back in the day. Then there was Joe in real-time in his signature fur driving a hot convertible corvette with a fab female named FORTUNE. The Goddess of Fortune may have had the ride but not 'the fun conversation' I had with Joe Namath.

Happy Hour the new Blue Plate Special!

We Seenagers still love to party, we just prefer to do it a little earlier than we used to.

Ok, like a lot earlier. Like 4 o'clock works.

Conveniently that's when Happy Hour usually starts at most bars around the country.

That's pretty much the time the ol' time Blue Plate Specials we used to make fun of started too.

Yes, those same Blue Plate Specials that in our minds were for blue-haired old ladies and senior 'shufflers.'

There aren't many Blue Plate Specials left these days, but for us Seenagers, Happy Hour is a perfect replacement.

It works basically the same way, at the same time, at the same price minus the blue plate with compartments for the main dish and some' sides.'

We Seenagers are way cooler than those old blue plate people were. Hey some of us might even have blue streaks in our hair, but that's intentional.

We belly up to the bar rather than shuffle but do hope for comfortable stools. Preferably with back support.

Oh, and we like foot rails on both the bar bottom and the stool bottom because balance is key for comfort.

We order half-priced drinks and appetizers until time runs out like a game show at six or seven and before the 'crowds' come.

Happy Hour like the ol' Blue Plate special, not only helps save a couple bucks but also keeps us from having to drive home too late in the dark.

We Seenagers don't want to drive too far in the dark unless we have to, so local Happy Hours are always appealing.

Now that people are vaccinated boosted and venturing out more, I've noticed more and more of our fellow Seenagers enjoying Happy Hour.

It's a great way to be reminded how much fun life used to be when people weren't afraid to be near other humans.

Plus we still get home with enough energy left to catch up on our latest Netflix binge or if 'coupled' to fool around - which is usually a toss-up decision.

For single Seenagers whether they drink alcohol or not, Happy Hour is always a friendly way to enjoy new connections of all ages.

Basically Happy Hour is the new Saturday night out on any day.

Which is good because every day these days feels like 'anyday,' but that's another show. Enjoy this latest episode.
