03 May 2022 | What Every Parent Needs to Know About Self-Regulation with Dr. Mona Delahooke | 00:39:52
When our kids are feeling upset, many of us have been told that we need to teach our kids how to self-regulate on their own. But if we take a long hard look into neurodevelopment and how that affects our body and behaviors, and our kids' bodies and behaviors, you can see that kids can’t always regulate themselves. But how do we help them learn to self-regulate then?
In this episode, we speak with Dr. Mona Delahook, a Child Psychologist and author of Beyond Behaviors as well as her newest book, Brain-Body Parenting: How to Stop Managing Behavior and Start Raising Joyful, Resilient Kids. She’s a mom to 3 grown kids ranging from 26-34, and is trying to shift the lens and change the paradigm of how our world views challenging behaviors!
We talk about how others can experience certain situations in a different way than others, how we can help our kids by using co-regulation, and what can we do as parents to nurture and build our kids’ ability to self-regulate.

24 Sep 2024 | 302: Your Motherhood Burnout Survival Guide: the 5 Key Components of Relationships with Dr. Morgan Cutlip | 00:48:41
Strap in for a delightful rollercoaster of emotions in today’s episode as we dive deep into the bustling world of motherhood, relationships, and the secret spices (literally) that make or break our daily interactions.
We’re joined today by Morgan Cutlip, Ph.D., who holds a PhD in Psychology, and is the author of the new book: Love Your Kids Without Losing Yourself: 5 Steps to Banish Guilt and Beat Burnout When You Already Have Too Much to Do. Morgan shares the not-so-sparkly side of motherhood and how it's more teamwork than a solo mission. Husbands, take note: "Get in there" isn't just a suggestion—it's a necessity, especially when toddlers turn life into a full-contact sport!
Switching gears, Morgan breaks down her dad’s legacy and her own work—the Relationship Attachment Model. Imagine your relationship as a stereo equalizer with sliders for 'know', 'trust', 'rely', 'commit', and 'touch'. Morgan encourages all moms (and dads) to know themselves and their needs. She offers up nuggets of wisdom on managing personal needs without turning into a walking mom-zombie of resentment. It's about finding that sweet spot where self-care meets care for others, without losing yourself to the daily grind.
This episode isn’t just a podcast; it’s a survival guide, a therapy session, and a coffee chat with a good friend all rolled into one. Tune in, laugh, learn, and maybe even cry a little as we tackle the wild world of motherhood and relationships with humor, empathy, and expert insight.

08 Apr 2025 | 358: 3 Reasons It Isn't Your Fault When You're Afraid to Pursue Your Dreams (& how to overcome it) with Abbi Miller | 00:43:47
Ever wonder why you keep pushing your big dreams to the back burner? What if fear isn't actually stopping you, but is actually a sign you're on the right path? Join Holistic Biz Strategist, Speaker, and WorkWomb™ Founder Abbi Miller as she shares her transformative journey of pursuing bold adventures—from being a professional actress and international travel entrepreneur to helping creative women scale their businesses without burning out.
Abbi reveals that fear is a natural part of pursuing big dreams, and waiting for that fear to disappear means missing out on life's most exciting opportunities. Drawing from her own experiences—like conquering her shark phobia by surfing and launching international teen travel programs in her early twenties—she encourages women to feel the fear and move forward anyway.
The episode explores how women often struggle with imposter syndrome and the belief that they need to do everything alone. Abbi advocates for building a supportive community, hiring help, and recognizing that discomfort often signals you're honoring your true path. Her message is clear: your unique vision is worth pursuing, even when it feels scary or unconventional.
Listeners will walk away inspired to let their "freak flag fly," embrace their innovative ideas, and understand that the most remarkable journeys begin with taking that first courageous step—fear and all.

25 May 2021 | 079 You Aren't Being "Spoiled" | 00:33:54
Why in the world do we have such low standards sometimes? Many of us wouldn’t give someone the time of day if they were to say to us “I like to keep the bar low, so that way when I do anything- you get impressed”. Um- no thank you! Next, please!
And yet, we hear moms say that they feel spoiled when their partner gives their kids a bath (for the first time ever...and their youngest is 3!), or they were able to sleep in one day out of the year. Seriously? When did that count as being “spoiled”?
In this episode, we push against that thought process that as moms, we should be happy settling for cold chicken nuggets as a meal and someone offering (but not actually doing) the dishes one day a year. We dig deep into expectations, why we sometimes settle for less than we know we deserve, and 4 things we can do about that today!

06 Feb 2025 | 341: 3 Things You Need to Know to Heal Your Grief After a Loss with Krista St-Germain | 00:40:14
When Krista St-Germain’s husband was killed on the side of the road, her life shattered in an instant. Left to navigate unimaginable grief, she quickly realized something shocking—most of what we believe about grief is completely wrong. Now, as a Certified Life Coach, Post-Traumatic Growth and grief expert, widow, mom, and podcaster, Krista has made it her mission to help others process loss in a way that actually helps, rather than harms.
In this episode, Krista shares three powerful ways to support a grieving friend or loved one—including why simply witnessing their grief is far more meaningful than trying to "fix" it. She also debunks one of the biggest myths about grief: the five stages of grief were never actually about losing a loved one! Originally developed for terminally ill patients coming to terms with their own mortality, this outdated framework often does more harm than good.
If you’ve ever struggled with what to say—or not say—to someone going through loss, this episode is for you. It’s raw, eye-opening, and will change the way you show up for the people you love.

14 Dec 2021 | Do we parent like our moms? with Betsy Stover | 00:35:24
Many of us have good memories of our parents and growing up, but then...there are the not-so good things. Maybe it’s the “My house my rules!” statement that you heard from your parents over and over again, or maybe it’s how your parents never had any consistency with their rules growing up. No matter what experience we had, one thing is for certain- our parents influence how we parent. For good and for bad.
In this episode, we're joined by Betsy Stover as we laugh so hard that we cry as we ask that question…Do I parent like my mom did? Betsy Stover is the host of the podcast “Why Mommy Drinks”. She’s a comedian and a mom that helps other parents feel less alone, by showing them that all of us are a hot mess and reminding them that they are doing a great job.
So listen along, laugh with us and see what realizations you have, like, do you echo-locate in your parenting too?

21 Dec 2021 | Finding your Authentic Self with Ryan Haddon | 00:37:38
So many of us are told that if we were a “good” mom that we would be able to do everything perfectly and be fulfilled solely in our identity as a mom, but guess what- that’s a lie!
Why is it that we get so wrapped up in checking things off our to-do list that we miss out on the things that truly fill our soul and help us be the best versions of ourselves?
In this episode, we’re joined by Ryan Haddon, Life & Spiritual Coach, Meditation Teacher, and Hypnotherapist. She helps women create more happy, healthy, and more balanced lives. She’s the daughter of an international supermodel and actress and had a wonderfully unique life growing up in Toronto, New York, and Paris. She now lives in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and is a mother to 4 kids ages 7, 9, 20, and 22.
We chat about our own struggles trying to let go of that image of who we “had” to be and what we found was our true, authentic self. And the whole bumpy journey that was in between.

26 Sep 2024 | 303: Grab the Stupid Cup, Dad! Why Assumptions Keep Moms from Catching a Break | 00:40:19
In this episode, we dive into the viral “mom marathon cup” moment—yep, the one where the mom, mid-race, is asked to stop and pick up a cup for her kids, while Dad just watches. Brie’s fuming at the dad (like, seriously?), while JoAnn sees it as a teachable moment for everyone involved. We break down the assumptions we make about moms being the default “fixers” and why that needs to change.
But it’s not all about the cup! We also share how to teach kids social skills and guide them to make better choices—without you playing the superhero 24/7. Moms, it’s time to ditch the martyr cape and prioritize your well-being while shaping a more balanced family dynamic.

27 Aug 2024 | Do Enneagrams Help You Parent Better? Harnessing Enneagram Insights for Resilience and Growth with Beth McCord | 00:44:50
Ever felt like someone had read your diary because they understood you so well? That’s the Enneagram for you—equally enlightening and a tad eerie!
In this episode, we’re joined by Beth McCord, who is the founder of Your Enneagram Coach, an Enneagram speaker, coach and teacher for over 20 years. Beth breaks down the basics of the Enneagram, explaining that each of the nine points represents a distinct personality type, each with its own lens (or pair of colored sunglasses, if you will) through which they view the world. These types are defined not only by their actions but more importantly, by their core motivations—fear, desire, weakness, and longing. The conversation takes a practical turn as Beth applies Enneagram wisdom to parenting, drawing from her book "Enneagram for Moms." She emphasizes the importance of parents using the Enneagram to work on themselves first, to better understand and guide their children.
This episode was packed with enlightening bits and real talk, making the Enneagram a tool not just for self-discovery but for fostering deeper empathy and understanding between people. Dive in if you're up for some serious self-reflection and a few laughs along the way!

24 Jun 2021 | 088 Second Child Thoughts: What Changes When 1 Becomes 2 with Lynn Berger | 00:34:07
So many moms worry about whether or not we are giving enough attention to our kids, especially when they outnumber you! We feel guilty for spending what may seem like a lot of time with one child and not enough with the other.
But is that really happening?
Are we really giving some of our kids (often the younger ones) the raw end of the deal?
In this episode we talk with Lynn Berger, a writer and journalist in the Netherlands, covering care, and author. As the care correspondent for online journalism platform De Correspondent, she writes about the various forms care can take, what it does for us, and what we need in order to take good care. Lynn took her thoughts and experiences of being a second child, combined them with her own thoughts as she prepared to, and had her second child, and rounded it all out with what the research says on the subject and put it together in her book, Second Thoughts: On Having and Being a Second Child.
JoAnn, Brie, and Lynn talk about their own experiences both as children with siblings and with their own children and the guilt that we face trying to give each child what feels like is never enough time.

In this episode, we discuss the things that we wish we knew before becoming moms with our guest Robbin McManne. Robbin is a Certified Parent Coach, Speaker, Author of the book, The Yelling Cure, Host of the award-winning Podcast, Parenting our Future, and am a wife and mom to two teenage boys. 22 Aug 2024 | Is Your Kid a Mastermind Manipulator or Just Being a Kid? | 00:38:30
Welcome to another episode where we dive deep into the wild world of raising kids without losing our sanity (too much, anyway). Buckle up, because today we’re here to dismantle the secret life of our little masterminds – or so we think!
Ever caught yourself thinking your child might just be the next Stewie Griffin or Megamind, scheming away in their high chair? You're not alone! Today we unpack why we often credit our kids with more mischievous genius than they're capable of, and what's really going on in those developing brains. Spoiler alert: No, your child isn't plotting to overthrow the government. They might struggle to manage their emotions—because that part of their brain isn't even fully cooked yet! We share some eye-opening insights into brain development, and why your teen's overactive amygdala is winning the battle against their still-maturing frontal lobe. Think Rocky, but less punchy and more moody. And because no parenting podcast is complete without touching on allowance, we dive into the magic of teaching kids the value of money.
By the end of this rollercoaster ride of an episode, not only will you feel a tad lighter from all the laughter, but you’ll also be equipped with strategies to help see through those moments of child-induced panic. Whether it's setting clear, simple boundaries or understanding the financial teaching moments, you’re not just raising a child—you’re guiding a future adult!
