18 Apr 2021S1 Ep5: Millie Bright - "To be the best, it's 100 percent everyday, or don't bother at all" 00:26:35
This week on Monday Mile, i’m heading to Surrey to meet one of the best defensive players in the women's game. Recently ranked in the Fifa World 11, she’s been a Chelsea player for 7 years, and a vital member of the Lionesses. Humble, hard working, and an inspiration to young females and males alike in football. Yes, it’s Millie Bright, she’s invited us on a dog walk and I can’t wait to meet her pups.

26 Apr 2021S1 Ep6: Dr Ranj - "you have one life, live it, you never know what is around the corner" 00:25:21
This week on Monday Mile, I am heading to South West London to meet one of the most well known Doctors in the game, Dr Ranj. He’s been the resident expert on ITVs This Morning for a number of years and is paving the way with the importance of Mental Health awareness.

He's an NHS Doctor, a dancer, a singer, and an Author and he's even got his own show in the WestEnd, as well as working on the front line during the pandemic. He talks us through the easing of lockdown and how to approach any anxieties around us slowly returning to normality. We also dive into the topic of Mental Health, the importance of being open and how important that support is. I also pick his brain on how best to go about that first tricky conversation, whether it be supporting someone struggling, or yourself reaching out for help, and admitting you are struggling.

Make sure to check out his new show

03 May 2021S1 Ep7: Harrison Osterfield - "As long as I can say that’s the best I could have done...then it’s down to the universe"00:20:17
This week on Monday Mile, I am heading to South London to meet Harrison Osterfield. A young actor making waves, on the big screen. We chat sport, the performance mindset and the resilience it has taken to land that lead role. From George Clooney's Catch-22 and now his recent debut role as Leopold in the Netflix Irregulars. This man is on a mission.

What I found most interesting about this Monday Mile stroll is the mindset required for success as an Actor. Whether it's discipline with diet to look a certain way, or the setbacks, and the motivation to keep pushing. Watch this space.

10 May 2021S1 Ep8: Chemmy Alcott - "I never lose, I either win, or I learn" . 00:33:48
This week on Monday Mile, I  head to West London, Hampton Court to meet Chemmy Alcott who is a 4x Winter Olympian downhill skier, and the first ever British woman to win a World Cup run. Chemmy's been to 8 World Champs, she's a business owner,  wife and Mum of two young boys, and your current BBC Ski Sunday host.  She's also a really good friend of mine!

What I loved about this Monday Mile stroll, is Chemmy's all or nothing approach to life, whether it be the dance floor, looking after her boys or charging the mountain. Her honesty and vulnerability in being open about struggling to balance both her family and working life, is inspiring "I am a swan, and I have my head above water ..... just, but legs are frantic!" This really does make the superwoman that Chemmy is, somewhat relatable. She's got endless energy, and well and truly is the definition of a kind-hearted, supportive soul.

17 May 2021S1 Ep9: Ebony Rainford-Brent - "Laser focus your priorities"00:28:46
This week on Monday Mile, I head to South London, on the bank of the River Thames, to meet Ebony Rainford-Brent, the first ever black female to play Cricket for England. She has hurdled adversity in sport through race and injury and is now paving the way in Sports Broadcast for both BBC and Sky. An entrepreneur in her approach to business (Inspira Tea), this same energy she has taken into her new charity, the Ace Programme.  This Programme focuses on talent identifying the next generation, making the sport accessible to all, as well as focusing on the visibility of the game.  Ebony also sits on the board as a Director of the Surrey Women’s Cricket Club.

What I enjoyed about this Monday Mile is the energy, as well as learning more about the game of Cricket. When I see Ebony she just makes me smile, she is full of ideas, and never takes no for an answer. She is all about doing things her way, and inspiring the next generation. We get into resilience, sport, and the foundations it has set for confidence and being your own energy, and trust me she has a positive abundance of that. Plus she introduces me to the Bucket List.... time to laser focus on that.

24 May 2021S1 Ep10: Ben Shephard - "Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life"00:30:11
This week on Monday Mile I head to West London and the beautiful open space at Richmond Park, to meet Ben Shephard. We chat all things work, the importance of fitness in his life and how he manages to find the best version of himself not only when on our TV screens, but also when spending precious time at home with his family. He's paved his own way from quite literally "dancing in a leotard" to hosting the crowd at the London Olympics in 2012.  Now fronting GMB, hosting Tipping point and of course to where I first met Ben, which was on the set of Ninja Warrior.

What I really enjoyed about this Monday Mile, was learning just what it takes to be at the top of your game in the media space. We as the public get to see Ben working from 6am on GMB, but we don't get to see behind the scenes and the rigorous hours of commitment to his craft. It's inspired me, and I hope it inspires everyone to keep chasing their own dreams.

06 Jun 2021S2 Ep1: Katya Jones - “ My work is my motivation”00:31:09
This week on Monday Mile I head to East London to kick start Season 2, with 2 x World Champ Latin and Ballroom dancer Katya Jones, and let me tell you this one is fire, what a way to start! We chat perception, up-cycling, sustainability, and perceived perception of dealing with the limelight on one of the biggest shows on British television. She's paved her own way onto the Strictly Dance Floor, and this Russian ball of energy brings discipline, great work ethic, and an abundance of positive energy.

Our listeners may be surprised to learn that Kayta is not just an incredible professional dancer, but delving deeper into her interests outside of the dance floor, we learn of her passion and enthusiasm for sharing her knowledge in movement, through her love of Mathematics and as an ambassador for National Numeracy.

This week on Monday Mile I head out of the City to the country lanes of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire to meet a woman who isn’t afraid of pushing herself through the boundaries of pain. She needs no introduction , a 3x Paralympian, and a regular face on our television screens, she’s completed the course on SAS. Yes, it's Lauren Steadman. We chat confidence, mindset, resilience, and explore what it takes to compete in a Triathlon - one of the most enduring sports on the planet.

Our listeners may be surprised to learn that although both confident and strong, Lauren has endured hurdles of adversity when it comes to body image. We learn how she has dealt with this, and her positivity and strength of character is I believe, a key part of her success in doing so. You would never know she had a disability, and it is amazing to watch how this just does not stop her from doing anything, Lauren is proof that determination is key to success.

28 Jun 2021S2 Ep4: Katie Boulter - "Excellence is perseverance in disguise"00:28:39
This week on Monday Mile we link up with Katie Boulter. It's Wimbledon week and Summer is well and truly here, which also means so is one of my favourite sports to watch, Tennis! It’s back and it’s grasscourt time. Strawberries and cream, Henman Hill/Murray Mound, Camping and "the queue", even Centre Court - it doesn’t matter how you do it, it's such a fast moving and exciting sport to watch.

My guest this week is part of the next generation of female Brits dominating the sport in the UK, she’s competed at Grand Slams at all over the World, we chat resilience, what it takes to perform with the World's very best, beating Coco Gauff in Australia, and giving Naomi Osaka a strong run. What you may not know about Katie, is her love for football, a true Leicester supporter, and of course we chat all things tennis and how she warms up on the Court.  Katie, The Monday Mile squad are rooting for you all the way this week at Wimbledon.

We chat Olympics, the importance of routine, and the knock -on effects of a positive mindset.  We learn how that attitude of Olympic greatness, speed skating around corners on one leg at 30mph plus, has translated into the tough business mindset that she has today.

Sarah is quite literally writing her own stamp on the fitness space, and with bespoke tailored one-to-one physical training she is positively changing people's lives. She's humble, innovative and radiates positive energy in all that she does.

Former Team GB double winter Olympian Aimee Fuller is on a mission to find the secrets for Monday motivation from some of the most successful sports men and women of our time and other well-known celebrities which will drop every week.

Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. How do elite athletes find the motivation to kick start their week come rain or shine? How do celebrities deliver no matter what the time of day? What knowledge can they pass on?’

Each episode will drop on a Monday morning and plays out in real time. Aimee will meet each of her guests for a walk and a chat and over the course of the mile she will find out how they cope on a Monday morning - their idiosyncrasies, breakfast routines, alarm noises - and how, when they need to, find the motivation to kick-on through the week.

Dropping every Monday as a bitesize 20/25 minute piece of content and weekly dose of motivation - right when you need it - sharing some of Britain's greatest athletes’ secrets on self-motivation, candid thoughts on what they struggle with and a sideways look at some of their more unusual morning habits.

06 Sep 2021S2 Ep7: Janette Manrara - "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them"00:43:48
In today’s episode I head to North London to catch up with the fun, talented, "tiny" fire ball that is Janette Manrara. She's most famously known for her phenomenal career on Strictly Come Dancing, yes, I am talking about her partnerships on the show with the likes of Paralympic Gold Medalist Will Bailey, Dr Ranj and her finals performance with HRVY! She is electric, not just on the dance floor but In her passion and zest for life.

During our Monday Mile stroll, we talk about the power of manifestation, dreaming big, chasing your goals, and Janette's new role as host of BBC Strictly It Takes Two. What I love about this discussion is how open Janette has been with what she wants to achieve publicly, and not through luck, but dedication to the graft. She may be leaving the dance floor, but she is still very much a part of the furniture. Janette we are wishing you all the very best of luck in your new venture.

12 Sep 2021S2 Ep8: Ugo Monye - "You can’t win the game on your own". 00:31:28
In today’s episode, I head to the riverside town of Richmond in Surrey to catch up with a man whose energy and lust for life is infectious. Not only has he had a phenomenal career on the pitch as a former England Rugby Union player, he’s played for the British and Irish Lions. He is now a Rugby pundit and has recently been appointed as a new Captain on the prestigious sporting game show Question of Sport.  And, that's not all  - Ugo has also been confirmed as a contestant joining the BBC Strictly Come Dancing line-up which starts next week.

During our Monday Mile stroll, we chat about the importance of career contentment, and I get an insight into Ugo's relentless work ethic.  We chat about the mental preparation involved in playing for your country, the importance of working as a team unit, and the qualities required to form that strong team. The big takeaway from this for me, is Ugo's outlook on day to day life and it’s inspired me, and I hope it inspires the listeners too. In the words of the Rugby champion himself - “Everyday is an opportunity to be grateful”. So, let’s go get this week! Oh, and of course, we just had to delve into a little Strictly Come Dancing chat, including partner predictions and Ugo's approach to the show.  GOOD LUCK UGO.

One of the great things about recording these podcasts, is that I get to introduce you to highly driven people and today’s guest is no different. She is a self-made entrepreneur who can now call herself a "Dragon", as she is part of the extremely popular BBC TV series, Dragon's Den.  Yes, I am chatting to Sara Davies! I love her energy, and her passion and drive for life, all of which she truly does have in abundance. I had the opportunity to catch up with Sara during a break in her packed filming schedule in Manchester.

We chat all things morning routine, 5 am alarms and 5.30 am runs, juggling a multi-million pound company, and exactly what she looks for in an entrepreneur.   All this, whilst also finding time to enjoy her "extra curricular" activities such as filming for Dragons Den, her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing and of course, presenting Morning Live on BBC1.

Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. 11 Jul 2022S4 Ep4: JJ Chalmers "I've tried not to waste any of the time that I've been given on this little planet". 00:45:40
My guest on this episode is JJ Chalmers. JJ is a TV and Radio presenter who this year has ticked off the BBC’s Winter Olympics coverage and most recently coverage of the Queen's Jubilee celebrations, but this is where his story goes a little further than broadcasting. JJ has been on an incredibly inspiring journey to get to these privileged, and well deserved positions.

As a former Royal Marines commando, JJ unfortunately got badly wounded in Afghanistan, leaving him with multiple injuries. Through amazing strength and determination, he went through rehab and competed at the Invictus Games where he won nothing less than a Gold medal, as well as some casual Bronze medals too!

To put it in JJ's words, he’s “had a nightmare and is now living the dream”. I hope you enjoy this podcast, because it left me feeling incredibly inspired.

We talk about the shocking incident which led to his injuries, what disability means and how we can make that societal change - in his words "equity is what's needed, a reasonable adjustment".

25 Jul 2022S4 Ep5: Adam Peaty "I thrive in pain"00:29:54
My guest on this week's podcast is a guy that lives by the motto "better than yesterday".  He’s a Triple Olympic champion and the first British swimmer ever to retain an Olympic title. His years of dedication to his sport means he is built like a Greek God, his chest and abs are bullet proof, yet he has a heart of a teddy bear. He’s a family man and one of our National Treasures. It's Adam Peaty.

We connect ahead of the Commonwealth Games on his trip down to London and we meet just outside at The Grove in Watford ahead of a rare day off and a day out to Wimbledon. We discuss his mindset going into the games after a long period out of the pool due to his ankle injury, the no pressure approach as well as his relationship with pain. Trust me, it's a different one. He shares some of his secrets to success which clearly showcases why he is unbeatable. This includes his love of music, and how he uses it as an emotional manipulator .... classical music, and ironing (!) are a part of this and yes, I was just as surprised as you are!

This week on the Monday Mile podcast, Aimee travels to Plymouth to meet sailing legend, Hannah Mills, she’s not just TeamGB’s Tokyo 2020 flag bearer, two-time Olympic champion, but she’s a also Two-time World Champion in the Women's 470 class. The Olympic medalist is a passionate environmentalist and an IOC sustainability ambassador and a global Sail GP sustainability spokesperson.

Aimee’s talks to her about the Impact League and how Sail GP, as a global tour is paving the way to retract it’s environmental foot print. Through the sports vision to race both on and off the water in the race to make sport both on and off the water more sustainable.

They also touch on Fear, and how Hannah has taken her sporting mindset beyond the boat and her life experiences including her pregnancy. It's too true that pregnancy can change your body, and as an athlete it has affected her identity, as someone who was once defined by sport, athletism and the strength in her mindset.  Aimee clearly took a lot from this and we hope you do too.

25 Sep 2022S5 Ep1: Oti Mabuse - "There is something greater out there for everyone".00:44:27
This week on the Monday Mile podcast, I head to North West London to link up with Oti Mabuse. It’s fair to say she is one of the most determined and hard working humans I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to. She shares her outlook on progression, “What is the alternative, do I stay in this situation? I have the capability to change it, but if I don’t, what is the alternative?”.

We chat about the importance of preserving her passion for dance, the music that feeds her soul, and Oti even sang us a few lines of her favourite tune to wake up to!   We learn about her unusual breakfast set up, yes we are talking mixing cereals in a bowl, love that…. and how competition brings out the best innovation. What I loved about chatting to Oti is her her passion for learning, whether it’s a new style in dance, or taking a new path on her journey within broadcast. She’s ambitious, she’s got drive, it fired me up and I know it will you too.

And yeah, she’s also a 2x Strictly Come Dancing champion,  a TV presenter, Podcaster, and Judge on Dancing on Ice.

Now this one’s a bit different. This is ME on Monday Mile. Thank you Mr Will Buxton for hosting me on my own podcast. Your kind words and enthusiasm for life make this episode very special.

“I’ll show you I’m not who you think I am, it’s very easy to stereotype”.

We discuss how your average girl next door fulfilled the unimaginable, looking back to my 16 year old self I often ask myself "how did I even make it happen?" 2 Olympics, X Games and a career that was once a distant dream is now something I look back on and call the Degree of my life. In this episode we discuss Fear of committing to the Olympic goal, writing a book, Fear Less Live More and the passion and growth I have for learning on this new path. I am 100 percent living out my second dream and I feel lucky I can say that and share this journey with you all. Enjoy this very special episode brought to you by Mr Buxton.

This time it's a role reversal and Will Buxton takes host seat in this one off episode. He will be probing Aimee for her answers. 09 Oct 2022S5 Ep3: Anton Du Beke “The one thing you must bring to everything, is your best”00:46:15

This week's Monday Mile takes us out into a slightly different environment. You might expect this mile to take us into a ballroom, but no, we are in this particular individual's other happy place. He’s the definition of a Gentleman, he’s a multifaceted entertainer and an all round performer, a singer, an author and is most well known for his performances on the dance floor.  However this particular individual now sits on the exclusive judging panel every Saturday night on one of our most well loved shows - yes you've guessed - it’s Strictly Come Dancing, Anton Du Beke.

We go for a round of Golf at the world famous Wentworth Course in Surrey.  During our walk, we discuss Anton's passion for Golf outside of the ballroom as well as his NTA nomination this week, and what it would mean to him to win.

We tap into the brutality of being knocked out of the competition on Strictly, as someone with a depth of knowledge and experience having had a professional career as a Ballroom and Latin dancer, and 18 years of performing on the show.  Now on the other side as a judge, Anton gives us an insight into his empathy and understanding of what’s going on and how he applies his critique.

Anton also leaves us with some really strong takeaways which can be applied to everyday life, the importance of showing up and being ready when an opportunity presents, and his motto “The one thing you must bring to everything, is your best”.

16 Oct 2022S5 Ep4: Tim Lovejoy - "If you value something show it attention".00:52:14
This week's Monday Mile takes us on a longer stroll in West London along the bank of the River Thames. He is best known for being a TV presenter and Podcast Host, but is more than that. Do the shows Soccer AM, and Sunday Brunch ring a bell?  I have had the honour of being a guest on his show and his podcast so it was epic to flip the switch and host Tim on my podcast. It's Tim Lovejoy.

We tap into how Tim has utilised his passion for self development and intrigue for learning to read his way out of depression. The different types meditation he has used and learned, one of which includes, (WALKING) and observing, so we did just that. The importance of living in the moment and how meditation can be a tool for that. His 2 self check-in alarms each day... We tapped into the importance of values, how they are learned and instilled within us. "If you value something show it attention, whether it's a friend, a partner, a cat, dog or a hobby" . We also tap into competition and fair game and his lack of empathy for "CHEATS" which comes back round to football. It's a meaty episode with some strong takeaways.

23 Oct 2022S5 Ep5: Wade Eastwood “We're not daredevils, we're stunt performers”. The man behind some of the historic scenes in Mission Impossible. 00:35:49
Today’s guest - Wade Eastwood, is not just your average guy who can fly a helicopter, he’s an accomplished fixed-wing pilot. He can also add skydiver & free flier, rescue scuba diver,  and black belt martial artist to his list of talents.  Oh and in case I forget, he can Box, Fence, and skip an offshore yacht.  This guy is a highly graded horse rider, has advanced weapons skills and he has served his country in the Armed Forces.  He also holds multiple armoured car licenses and he has raced cars internationally, with a string of wins in Formula 3, prototypes and sports cars.

Wade is a stunt coordinator and one of, if not the most reputable men in the industry. Do the films  Mission Impossible, Jumanji and Men in Black ring a bell?  Well, all the action and the stunts…. Wade is the brains behind them.

We headed up to the studio, known as his second home, and walked the woods where Wade has taught the likes of Tom Cruise how to drift. We even got a sneak peak in the 'stunt department'. Aside from chatting pure action, we got into Wade's lifestyle, how he balances work and play, and his passion for supporting the next generation of stunt performers.  We also had to get a little gossip on Mission Impossible 7 ....

07 Nov 2022S5 Ep6: Max Whitlock - "A lot of athletes look at me like I've got it all figured out, and I'm like nowhere near close to that" 00:33:56
Today’s guest is Max Whitlock, he is not just a Gymnast, he’s a father, a husband and a role model to the next generation…….Max is the most successful gymnast in British history, with 6 Olympic medals to his name in the all round team, floor and pommel horse.

This conversation is one that may come as a bit of a shock to many. As the poster boy of not just British Gymnastics but Team GB, it appeared from the outside that Max Whitlock had it all sussed. However, Max has recently opened up about his own struggles with his mental health and he has pulled down the mask about his relationship with the sport. The pressure to always out-perform his very best and the pressure to win Gold in Tokyo and nothing less, was considered a failure.

Having taken a year out, we chat about the highs and lows of Olympic sport, the pressure, purpose and the importance of speaking out. From the outside, Max's decision could look like a quick fix, but in reality it's his chance to take the opportunity to put himself within a chance of achieving the impossible. We discuss life after sport, and the importance of speaking out about what that could look like, not just for him, but for any athlete. It's real, raw and it's relatable. Thank you Max Whitlock for your honesty.

14 Nov 2022S5 Ep7: Chris Stark - "I kinda went into panic mode"00:44:26
Today’s guest is Chris Stark, he’s known for his former days at Radio 1 as a part of the Scott Mill’s show, and now sits in the hot seat over at Global as Capital FM’s Breakfast show co-presenter and exec producer. He also hosts That Peter Crouch Podcast, that casually had a certain Royal on the mic, Prince William.

We dig into that famous Mila Kunis interview,  that acted as a career catapult. You remember that right? In his words he went into "full panic mode, going violently off message". We chat his pathway into Radio 1, parenthood, and juggling the two. Chris opens up about his career,  the selflessness that is required to be a good number two, working alongside the likes of Scott Mills, and now Roman Kemp.

The podcast also took an unexpected turn, when it comes to the discussion of finding balance in life and Chris opened up about the current state of imbalance and struggle he is experiencing. A very relatable discussion, about the routine life gives you, if you let it.

21 Nov 2022S5 Ep8: Alex Murphy “I was imprisoned in my own brain”00:36:46

Today’s guest is Alex Murphy, one of the Professional dancers from the very popular Dancing on Ice TV show.  Alex is a bit of a super human, not only a TV personality and one of the most entertaining content Creators in the business, but she won Dancing on Ice in 2020 with Joe Swash!   She is also the reigning Dutch Dancing On Ice champion.

We dig into the unrelatable out of body moment when Alex tragically suffered a stroke whilst on a cruise ship, and we talk about the impact that this has had on her life. Trapped and encapsulated in her own body, Alex couldn't feel her right side, or speak. The profound positive attraction of Murphy's Law when the unimaginable happens, and the ability to see positivity in the situation is incredible.  We discuss the process of coming back from that, and becoming a force for good to winning Dancing on Ice just 3 months later.

Now as a freelance content Creator, I ask Alex about the importance of creating a routine and structure, a great listen for those in the Freelance business looking to instil some structure to the sporadic pattern of the working week.

Hello and welcome to a brand new season of the Monday Mile podcast. After a little festive break we are back with a bang to inspire you to join us, whilst we walk and talk. This is Season 6 and today we are in central London with a lady who is making an impact on our airwaves.

She’s a rockstar Mum to her beautiful daughter, and a Radio DJ who presents ON RADIO 1 Live Lounge as part of "Rickie, Melvin and Charlie". Yes, you've guessed, it's Charlie Hedges! Charlie kicked off 2023 for us with a set on the decks, seeing us well into the New Year and is proof of the pudding that you can be a Mum, and pave the way in the media and balance the two.

We chat mood boards and manifesting a dream, how to create and chase that vision for the New Year and beyond, and to never take "no" for an answer. Instead we chat about taking that "no" and turning it into a positive. We dig into Charlie making her way into one of the most popular radio shows in the country, starting out as the tea lady at Kiss Radio as well as juggling a degree and becoming one of the youngest ever breakfast presenters this country has seen. This chat is impactful, inspiring and it’s got me fired up, so I hope it does the same for you too. Happy New Year!

What knowledge can they pass on?

Each episode drops on a Monday morning as a bitesize piece of content and weekly dose of motivation - right when you need it. Aimee will meet each of her guests for a walk and a chat and over the course of the mile she will find out how they cope on a Monday morning - their idiosyncrasies, breakfast routines, alarm noises - and how, when they need to, find the motivation to kick-on through the week. Sharing some of Britain's greatest athletes, entrepreneurs, doctors, authors and broadcasters ’ secrets on self-motivation, candid thoughts on what they struggle with and a sideways look at some of their more unusual morning habits.

09 Jan 2023S6 Ep2: Ollie Locke "Be yourself because everyone else is always taken"00:34:08
Today’s guest is Ollie Locke, and we are walking a mile in Chelsea. He’s no stranger to the area having starred in E4’s reality series Made in Chelsea for 12 years! He’s been a bit of a pioneer in fronting the movement in equality, becoming the first man to come out on British television.

He has lived life's journey in the public eye as an actor for many years. We delve into how REAL and RAW the reality show is and how much of it is a front. We chat about getting married to his partner Gareth on National television and this chat takes a deeper turn as we tap into his relationship with being bisexual, and how initially this was misunderstood and seen as unsafe. He's dated women and men publicly and we discuss the power of love, and falling in love with the person, that being Gareth and not the sexuality of the partner.

Ollie and Gareth have been very open about their fertility journey, and how that works in Britain. We also talk about how the law hasn't changed in 35 years, and the process they are currently undergoing for their longed-for baby.  We touch on the sad news of their 3rd miscarriage, but also the continuing belief that one day,  Ollie and Gareth will become parents.

Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. 16 Jan 2023S6 Ep3: Paul Olima "Sport was the only time I was accepted".00:30:32
Today we walk a mile with Paul Olima.  He is probably one of the strongest men I know, a natural athlete, a former International rugby player and now a video creator …. most known for his hilarious skits that go viral on the one thing the majority of us are addicted to, Instagram. He lights up a room with his infectious energy and sense of humour.

We took a stroll around the park in Putney, and discussed the challenges of growing up as a black man in a very white Ireland. Sport created a place of acceptance for Paul, a place that made him feel welcome and a place to channel his aggression that built up through frustration at school. With around 200 fist fights under his belt by the age of 18,  we discuss his attitude towards life now, and how as a Father, he wants to see positive changes for his children growing up.

29 Jan 2023S6 Ep4: Nikita Kuzmin "You need to move your ass, if you want to do anything in life ".00:40:35
Today on the podcast we welcome Nikita Kuzmin, who is best known for his ability to glide across the floor in the ballroom.  He’s a fresh face making a serious impact on BBC Strictly Come Dancing. I’m not just talking about the blonde locks and serious charm, but as a dancer and choreographer his creativity and flare is noted.

We took a stroll around Primrose Hill, before he hopped on the coach to tour the UK for Strictly Come Dancing Live. After 2 successful seasons on the show we discuss his creativity, the importance of inspiration, and taking pride in your work. He has showcased this through his partnerships with Tilly Ramsay and most recently Ellie Simmonds. We tap into his passion for being challenged, his competitive nature and how each partnership has required a different approach. Nikita admits his ability to overthink and we find out how that trait lends itself to to create some really special moments on the dance floor.

As a Type 1 Diabetic Nikita shares his journey with Diabetes and the responsibility he has in being a role model for the next generation. Being diagnosed at a young age, he is using his Strictly Platform to showcase the importance of managing it “well” not just on the outside but the importance of caring for what truly counts, the inside. He see’s it as an opportunity to showcase responsibility, keeping safe now, to prevent suffering in later life. Oh and we also tap into how he's casually signed up for a Marathon!

05 Feb 2023S6 Ep5: Radzi "I want to have a life that’s determined by how I think, and my brain."00:29:01
Today on Monday Mile we welcome a former Blue Peter presenter, and an accomplished broadcaster, from The Olympics , Wimbledon, The London Marathon, The Paralympics, World's Ultimate Strongman, and the list goes on!  He is also an author and a natural athlete.  If you haven't already guessed, I'm chatting to Radzi .

As a man who approaches life with an authentic energy and zest, we tap into his passion for Politics and how he not only defines it, but how he would make change within the UK by speaking out for those who can't, starting with a revolution of the education system.  His desire to create a more level playing field and a space and an opportunity for those with mental health issues to talk. We discuss his passion for the gym, ("it's my sanctuary"),  and how he channels his late Father, and how that spirit allows him to connect with his Father genetically as a result of how his body responds in the gym. For a man who claims to "hate the mornings" we also dig into his hacks, and his passion for optimum performance and his passion for The Olympics.

12 Feb 2023S6 Ep6: Lee Mckenzie "I can fall back on, I'm good at my job" 00:49:45
Today on Monday Mile we head to Holland Park for a stroll with a lady who has been a pioneer in the Pitlane, becoming the first woman to take on the main anchor role in F1 on British TV - it is Lee McKenzie!

She’s worked across some of the most prestigious events in sport, Olympics , Paralympics , Wimbledon and the Rugby World Cup . She’s the consummate professional, one of the greats and delivers when it really counts even under pressure and streaming live into our living rooms.

We have a great conversation about what makes a good broadcaster.  We discuss whether journalism really deserves the paraphrase "dirty word" and as to whether broadcasters are out there to “nail someone to the masts”.  We also chat about how F1 is considered to be an elite profession, and how the athlete's attitudes towards the sport has influenced Lee's professionalism towards her job as a broadcaster - "success and failure is measured by a thousandth of a second" .

We discuss her relationship with the outdoors and the balance it brings, and how she juggles life on the road, broadcasting across multisport events and adapting to different time zones and prepping for one event whilst she’s still mid-broadcast at another. We also talk about the importance of being “good” at the job, and not focusing on what other people might think, and whether it’s true if you put everything into something it leaves no room for criticism. However, Lee does open up about trolling and the effects that can have on her relationship with body image. It’s a great listen, and as someone who is a role model to me, I really enjoyed this walk and talk with Lee.

20 Feb 2023S6 Ep7: Tony Adams "I've been given this gift and I'm not going to let it go".00:41:22
Today on Monday Mile we are joined by a man who recently brought the feel good back to Saturday night television. He’s known best as an Arsenal Icon. However more recently his time on Strictly Come Dancing. He’s overcome Alcoholism, battled addiction and is now a positive advocate for living life sober.

We discuss the "illness" the brutality and loneliness that those who become a victim of Alcoholism face, and Tony shares the importance of speaking OUT, finding acceptance and taking that first step in admitting it to himself "I was 29 and I didn't want to be here, somewhere in the pits of my stomach I went help".

We tap into the process of sharing that with his family, the importance of being open, and how his negative has actually become a positive for his Children, through speaking, and reflecting on his past times, it's acted as a catalyst for them to be aware of issues that Alcohol can cause.

Although his traits with addiction have caused trauma, we also tap into how he utilised his addictive traits with perfectionism, and how that made him the player he was. "If you've got that inside of you, use it".

26 Mar 2023S7 Ep1: “Paddy Mcguiness: Piggybacks, TV career choices and importance of mental health”00:48:35
Today on Monday Mile we launch Series 7, with a man who’s kinda got the triple threat going on. He’s an actor, comedian and television presenter.

To you and I, he’s best known for his comedic persona and presenting shows such as Take Me Out, and one of my favourites BBC’s Top Gear, if you haven’t already guessed it’s Paddy McGuiness.

We take the Monday Mile podcast on a train trip up North to Macclesfield to meet Paddy at his local tea room, for a rather blustery and rainy hike at the Teggs Nose Country Park. I think it has to be one of our most adverse weather situations we have ever had on the mile, which resulted in a new pair of trousers bought in a charity shop for the ride home!

We tap into Paddy’s relationship with keeping active, and how important that is in helping him to find the balance and switch off when juggling being a Dad, and a multifaceted face of broadcast. He speaks openly about his recent documentary Our Family and Autism with BBC, and the difficulty in taking the first steps in opening up to the media in an attempt to help other parents going through the same process.

We chat about how that has impacted on his mental health and his own diagnosis of clinical depression. Paddy puts strong emphasis on the importance of speaking out and finding the right therapist for you.

We also discuss the importance of staying true and humble to his routes, just a lad from Bolton debunking the stereotype of men having to be the bread winner, and removing that mask of no emotion , no tears,. He leaves our listeners with some strong advice on how to manage and juggle criticism in the public eye, whether it be on social media, or in the Press and the importance of not being defined by one moment or a series of events. “It’s a little bit of fun in a moment in time that when we’re all dead, no one cares about it”.

03 Apr 2023S7 Ep2: Caroline De Moreas: Real talk on life after pregnancy. 00:38:11
This week on the  Monday Mile Podcast, we are joined by not one, but 2 special guests. It’s Caroline De More and Isabella. Caz is a BBC Broadcaster and has covered a wide series of events from Football focus, the EWC, The Olympic Games and most recently the Football World Cup out in Qatar. She’s extremely humble, she’s a polyglot (if you don’t know what that means…. she speaks 4 languages),and she is without a doubt one of the most underrated presenters in the industry. She joins me on a rather chilly day in Queen’s Park, London.

Caz is actually one of my best friends, so it’s a funny one interviewing her, however one thing we both love to do is chat. This Mile is a little different as we will be joined by her beautiful baby daughter Isabella to discuss life, routine and the challenges associated with being a freelancer and having a baby. We also discuss the associated stereotypes created….. and the affect it has on work.

We also chat about life after pregnancy, the things that people don’t talk about, as well as the things that people don’t tell you.  Hair loss, bleeding and much more of that glamorous stuff!! It’s real it’s raw and Caz is not slowing down. A total power mum who is embracing every moment of life with Isabella in tow.

16 Apr 2023S7 Ep4: Tanya Franks and Scott Mitchell - Babs Army, Dementia prevention + the legacy of Barbara Windsor00:35:03
Hello and Welcome to a new episode of the Monday Mile Podcast, this week’s guests are joining me in central London for a little stroll ahead of a very big race this upcoming weekend.

It’s the London Marathon, and today I am joined by Scott Mitchell, the husband of the late Dame Barbara Windsor and former Easterners actress Tanya Franks who are two of the pivotal "members" of Babs' Army. We link up on a beautiful sunny day in central London and discuss the  incredible work both Tanya and Scott have done in the fight against dementia, and of course their incredible running feats .

We chat about the highs of Marathon running, the training, and the  Babs' Army squad, as well as the mission they are on to raise £50,000 as they cross that finish line on the 23rd of April. Both Tanya and Scott share personal experiences with the disease, and expand on what it is, and how it has affected them both - Scott as a devoted husband and carer and the pressures associated with that, and Tanya talks about her experience sadly with her stepfather.

Tanya speaks openly about her mission to prevent the disease and shares some of the preventative steps that can be made to put a hold on the number 1 killer in the UK.

23 Apr 2023S7 Ep5: Emily Cambell: On body Image and exclusion - "There are girls out there that are standard size that are made to feel massive"00:30:00
This week on Monday Mile I link up with one of the strongest people I know, in fact she has deadlifted me before! The word inspiration is often banded around lightly but today I will be referencing the term and it’s not to be taken lightly. Emily Campbell, is Britain's most successful Weightlifter. She’s our Olympic Silver Medalist and the current European Champion. She’s a Northern lass that can snatch the weight of a baby elephant… casual eh?!

Emily is in town for a regular check in with the team Physio, so we hit the pavements in Covent Garden for a stroll. We chat about her passion for changing the way women feel about body image, her current work with Nike… and the mass drive for inclusion of women of all sizes. She also gives us an insight into life as an athlete, the reality of the physical work load and the ‘baseline of Doms’ .  She also shares the truth of not knowing what it's like "to not be in pain whilst sitting on the toilet" and "if I've not got something to hold onto, I'm not getting down there“ .

She shares her tips on confidence, “Once you look in the mirror and think damn I look good, it gives you the confidence to go out there and execute whatever you need to do” as well as stressing the importance in physical literacy - “There are girls out there that are standard size that are made to feel massive because the biggest size they can find on the shelf is a 14 or a 16”.

30 Apr 2023S7 Ep6: Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix - On body image, confidence and struggling with eating in an aesthetic sport like diving.00:35:39
This week on Monday Mile I link up with one of Britain's most exciting Olympic talents, not just because she has two Commonwealth Golds in her back pocket and made the Olympic final at the age of 16, but because she’s a role model and advocate for debunking stereotypes around aesthetics and body image.  I'm chatting to Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix.

After one of her  training sessions at the Olympic Park in London, we chat about juggling her A levels as well as a full time diving career, and Andrea talks openly about the mental load and emotional fatigue associated with this pressure, and how she manages it.  We also open up the conversation around her extra studies (an EPQ), which is a personal choice to develop her own knowledge after the struggle with eating and body confidence especially within an aesthetic sport like diving.

She’s strong, she is empowering and everything I admire in an athlete. We also talk about Paris 2024 as the countdown is now on, and the home-field advantage and Andrea's mindset going into it.

07 May 2023S7 Ep7: Ellie Simmonds - “I’ve had people pat me on the head” Difficulties with disability representation and knowing when she was extraordinary00:38:59
This week on Monday Mile I link up with a British Paralympic swimmer in Regent’s Park, a place to her that feels a little like home in the City of London. In 2008 she won two Gold medals for Great Britain and was the youngest member of the team. She then went on to win two Golds yet again, and claim the World record in 2012 and another Gold in Rio 2016.  This week I am talking to Ellie Simmonds!

Ellie received an MBE in recognition of her achievements, and in fact she is,  the youngest to ever receive one, she’s also got an OBE and is an advocate for representation across disability. Ellie opens up about the moment when she did feel different, “as a kid there was, you know when you have this moment, and your friends are all tall” .

We discuss the issues around disability representation, what it’s going to take to change that and some of the issues she has experienced along the way, “I’ve had people pat me on the head, and rub me on the cheek” .

16 Jul 2023S8 Ep2: Phil Tufnell “You're only remembered for your parties” Phil Tufnell on his approach to life. 00:30:06

This week on Monday Mile I head into Central London, to link up with a man who is known as the cat, one of Cricket's greatest all time Bowlers.  He’s been King of the Jungle and has danced on BBC’s Strictly, and more recently is just out of the Legends Jungle in South Africa. He’s got an infectious energy and is known for making people smile on our screens, from Question of Sport to fronting the BBC cricket coverage, and I managed to catch up with Phil during a busy time ahead of the Ashes.

We caught up on all things Cricket, the changes he has seen within the game now as a Commentator on the other side of the sport, from the turn of professionalism, and the awareness and support with Mental health. Phil shares his episode with depression, and lack of support back in the day - “In those days you were just told to roll your sleeves up and get on with it, it was a sign of weakness”.

He shares his experience on “I'm a Celebrity, and his ability to step back and juggle personalities in that environment whilst being stuck in a box, below ground surrounded by snakes. He leans on his experience and time as an athlete “if someone’s down, you pick them up”.

23 Jul 2023S8 Ep3: Oscar Piastri on being more popular than Lando at Silverstone00:19:47
This week on Monday Mile we travel South to Chichester, to link up with one of the most promising young drivers in motorsport at Goodwood Festival of Speed. I’ll give you a clue, he’s not the first Australian driver to sit in the hot seat at McLaren F1. He has spent the last few weekends fighting off Lewis Hamilton for position on track, and is just fresh off his 4th place at Silverstone Grand Prix.  He’s also just secured another top 5 in Hungary - this week I’m talking to Oscar Piastri.

We chat all things F1, from his rise and very successful career through the junior ranks and the importance of that success in Formula 3 and F2, to prepare you for the circuit. From his first experience sitting in an F1 car , and nearly putting his head through the steering wheel to securing his place at McLaren F1.

Oscar shares his passion and competitive nature by doing everything to the best of his ability and how aiming for the top of motorsport was his only option. We also discuss the importance in education and how being a World class athlete does require and element of academic ability to perform your best. “I was competitive academically, we’re all very capable of driving at almost the same speed as each other, in F1 half of the game is having a brain free enough to think about other stuff apart from driving”.

We delve into his new found fame on the grid off the back of his result at Silverstone, and how the British public were chanting his name over Lewis Hamilton. He shares an open account of how nothing can prepare you for the media attention as one of the only 20 drivers in the world to have a seat in F1, and the responsibilities that come along with the job.

30 Jul 2023S8 Ep4: Sonny Jay on how he transformed his life in 6 months.00:35:12
This week on the Monday Mile Podcast,  we are in central London with a radio DJ. Known best for his time at the Capital Breakfast show he now hosts his own Capital Late Show. He’s recently gone through a drastic body transformation and has quite literally turned his life around.

We discuss Dancing on Ice and the mindset learned from that, going in as the underdog with no pressure and the discipline required to progress. “ you can start terrible at something, if you consistently do something you can get really good at it”.

We chat about his former lifestyle covering double shifts on the radio and how it was not conducive to a healthy lifestyle with extremely early mornings and very late nights.  Sonny shares his inspiration behind the transformation and the significant 30th Birthday mark, and the steps he's taken to make some real life changes.

One takeaway I particularly liked, was Sonny's theory on having “peaks in the day, having 2 points of high”. Formerly he would have one peak, that being work, (which exhausted him mentally) and the rest of the day was on a decline, feeling jet-lagged and the day being done.

He chats about goal setting and the time-frame of 6 months and the importance of being able to apply yourself to make those lifestyle changes. One being changing the mindset around food, and removing the mentality of having to finish everything on the plate and learning what being full and satisfied is.

This week on the Monday Mile Podcast, we are in central London with a lady who’s about to hit the Radio airwaves…..she’s one of those that has the voice for radio and the face for TV she’s a double threat, starting out in Children’s TV and being a staple of the CBBC family, she’s a qualified journalist and author. She’s the presenter of Radio 1 Life Hacks, and now a face of the BBC Morning Live Family.

Katie also has her own show on Friday and Saturday mornings and co-hosts going home with Vick and Jordan when one of them is off’ on BBC Radio 1 and we link up with her just as she heads into the studio to discuss life, and we cover the topic of eating disorders. We talk about the importance of therapy, and Katie’s personal development in that space as a person-centred Counsellor.

Katie speaks openly about the challenge she has had with binge eating, and how it is often seen as the forgotten eating disorder.  Binge behaviour is often glamourised  “We encourage people to eat and to binge drink, yet you are punished when you can’t stop. People always think of Anorexia, which has the highest fatality rate of any mental illness”.  She shares her triggers, loneliness, stress, and anxiety, and the moment she caught herself ordering food in a hotel room and then purging and making herself sick. She also shares her tips and tricks and how she is currently working through this mental illness.

We also chat about the pressures around being busy, “everybody is always doing something” , and how social media can be a spiral for feeling like this, and the feeling that it's not OK to be bored.

Katie talks about the way she is treated differently when she is bigger, and her body shape changes, "we are quite a fat phobic society". We discuss role models and the importance of seeing more fuller bodied women on TV, and how it is changing positively.

13 Aug 2023S8 Ep6: Lucy Cork - The Stuntwoman that taught Tom Cruise some moves and how she handles the pressure of comparison.00:32:43
This week on the Monday Mile podcast we are in Surrey, and we are linking up with a good friend of mine.  Have you ever wondered who the face is behind the stunts in the likes of Mission Impossible? Today’s guest is for starters one of the most low key and talented individuals I know.

Known best for being a stunt performer, and one of the top performers in the world today, Lucy has performed in just a few movies you might know - Jumanji, Fast and Furious, and Mission Impossible. We discuss the importance of leaving the "ego" behind when it comes to performing on set, and what it’s like working and choreographing scenes with Tom Cruise. We discuss the famous Pole Hopping scene, which Tom leaned on Lucy for her experience in Pole dancing.

We also open up the conversation and struggles with body image when it comes to performing and moulding to fit the actors, we talk body language, movement and size.  We discuss Lucy’s ability to adapt like a Chameleon, and her ability to mimic movement.  Trust me I can vouch for that - her innate ability to pick up anything she is shown is incredible and that skill set spans from driving, riding motorbikes, diving, gymnastics and  lots more. “If people want to hire me, they hire me for my skills” .

She’s doubled for the likes of Cameron Diaz, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby (Hobbs and Shaw),  Rachel Weiz, Cobie Smoulders, Karen Gillan and she has filmed iconic scenes in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. We also discuss the subject of dating and the challenges that can bring due to the nature of Lucy's physically strong and capable ability.

20 Aug 2023S8 Ep7: Emma Gilmour - The first ever Female Driver for McLaren on Hyperfocus 00:28:09
This week on the Monday Mile Podcast, we are in Woking….This Mile is a little different, it’s brought us inside…to a motorsport factory. I’ll give you some clues, well I’ve already said we’re in Woking, but there’s a lot of papaya coloured logos around. The team is steeped in racing history, and today we are Lucky enough to be speaking to their first ever female driver…we are of course at Mclaren HQ, and we’re here to meet Emma Gilmour.

Emma takes us through the famous Boulevard, and gives us an insight as to what it is like to  be a part of McLaren as they celebrate their 60th year. We discuss her transition from horse riding to motor racing, and how from the outside, the sport of motor racing can be perceived as dangerous.  Emma also shares how having control of a car is of course, very different to that of a horse!  “A horse has a mind of its own:” . We discuss the physicality of the sport, and the mindset required to excel, that being extreme focus.

We chat about the opportunity Extreme E has given female drivers as a platform to get more females in seats on the grid moving forward, "on any Extreme E grid, you’ve got 50% male and 50% female, so all these young girls at home can see that women can compete at the top level”.

Emma takes us step by step through the mental thought process, when she is at the start line, and how when it goes wrong, it can really go wrong, “I try to straighten the wheels for the impact with the hay bales, instantly you’re like 90 degrees to the track”.

For me this was a really insightful listen, and interesting to learn more about the process when it comes to taking that first step into a car, and the associated pressures which Emma has embraced and charged forward with when it comes to racing under the flag of McLaren - their heritage being fast cars, petrol and winning.

This week on the Monday Mile Podcast, we are in East London and we are at a racing track, in fact we are inside at the Excel and we are about to link up with Jake Dennis, a guy who is leading the charge for Avalanche Andretti on the Formula E Circuit.  He's also a Red Bull Racing Simulator driver and we caught up with Jake on an insightful grid walk ahead of his home race double header.

We chat about the different formula in motorsport, and how his journey through the ranks, swapping from F3 cars to sports cars, has given him the skill set to drive a formula E car so well. He lends his success to having an adaptive personality and the importance of putting yourself in different situations so you know how to adapt when put under pressure. He shares an insight into how different it is racing an Electric car and the importance of visual reference points throughout a race, "You jump in this and it's like no vibrations, super smooth and just wind".

We discuss how the sport of Formula E is setting an example and part of the bigger picture globally in pioneering environmental technologies.  Jake shares his personal insight and belief on the future of motorsport becoming Electric "You see Formula 1 trying to claim they will be Net Zero by 2030". As we opened the conversation of longevity throughout the podcast, we also spoke about the associated dangers, and the often unspoken conversation on the reality of a bad crash in motorsport and how ultimately your career can end in one serious accident.

22 Oct 2023S9 Ep3: Chris Robshaw on learning to be a good leader, life after leaving rugby and the future of the sport.00:34:00
On this week’s #MondayMile podcast, I link up with former England national rugby union team captain @Chrisrobshawrugby to talk marathons, mental health and forming new routines after retirement.

Chris has had an impressive career, having played for London’s Harlequins and Sdlegion as well as captaining the national team. He announced his retirement in October 2022, and opens up to me about adjusting to life post-rugby; from his shifting identity and physique, to finding new hobbies and challenges. We talk about how he pushed himself to run the London Marathon earlier this year - and why he’ll never do it again

We also dive into the current state of rugby, discussing the recent protocol changes on head injuries and concussion, the stigma around the sport, and how he feels about the future of rugby.

Away from rugby, Chris also reveals a softer side – who would’ve guessed that he loves romcoms as much as I do?

I loved chatting with Chris! He’s chill and down to earth – a real joy to be around. He might not be down for another London marathon, but count me in for a romcom marathon anytime.

Our chat is available to listen to now on all podcast platforms .

30 Oct 2023S9 Ep4: Denise Lewis DBE on becoming an Olympic champion, Damehood, and ‘Don’t Rock The Boat’00:36:36
On this week’s #MondayMile podcast, I have a lovely little chat with Olympian, sports broadcaster and all-round boss lady Dame @realdeniselewis.
Denise is a legend of British athletics. She specialised in the Heptathlon, and became the first European to bring home the Gold medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. She’s received numerous accolades in her lifetime, and became a Dame in the 2023 New Year Honours. We take a rainy walk around Primrose Hill and speak about this impressive career, starting from her humble beginnings in Wolverhampton, to competing at the highest level of athletics.

These days you’re more likely to find her in a studio than on the track, and we talk about it feels to commentate on those who have come after her. We also touch on representation, and how important it is to see diversity within sport.

I ask Denise about her most satisfying physical challenge – an intense rowing excursion on the TV show ‘Don’t Rock The Boat’. And of course, I couldn’t resist asking the honour of receiving a Damehood. I do agree that Dames should get free parking - seems like a no-brainer.

Denise is a pioneer and a complete inspiration to be around - I loved having her on the pod!

When Scott shot to fame in 2016, he was known as a bit of a party animal. In recent years, he’s completely turned his life around after making the decision to go sober. As well as being an obsessive Padel player (like me!), he has several successful business ventures under his belt - a PR agency and a wellness brand, as well as a podcast and a TV series with his brothers Adam Thomas, Ryan Thomas and his late father.

We talk about what drove Scott to finally make the decision to give up booze, and how trading in two-day benders for 5am starts has transformed his life. He talks intensely about his drive to succeed in business, and what he thinks about the shadow of Love Island hanging over him.

Family is a consistent theme of our chat. Scott opens up about his relationship with his famous brothers, discovering their lineage on Mancs In Mumbai, and how much he loves being an uncle. We also tackle the topic of grief head on, as he tells me how his family banded together to process the loss of their father.

Scott's energy and passion for wellness are infectious, and hearing how he turned his life around to achieve his goals is inspiring. Scott, anytime I am in Manchester I'll see you down at the Padel Club in Wilmslow for a doubles match. You and Adam v me and Katya - it's on when he’s finished in the ballroom!

13 Nov 2023S9 Ep6: Mr Motivator on movement, mindset and becoming Prime Minister.00:29:18
On this week’s #MondayMile podcast I’m joined by fitness instructor, television star and all round bundle of energy Mr Motivator.

Mr Motivator shot to fame in 1993 when he joined GMTV, leading fitness sessions for the nation, and following up with a best-selling line of fitness videos. He’s kept up his mission of fitness for everyone in recent years; he joined the BBC’s HealthCheck UK Live during lockdown to help us keep fit at home, and he currently leads regular home workouts on social media.

Our chat is filled with inspirational gems. He tells me how he channelled his positive mindset into success, going from a struggling single father leading classes in his local leisure centre to training celebrities and exercising with the nation on television. We also talk in depth about spreading joy, finding inspiration to move, and his aspirations to become Prime Minister (I’d definitely vote for him!)

A huge thanks to ‘Mote’ for joining me on this week’s episode. It’s hard not to feel inspired when you’re walking around with a man who’s high-fiving people in the street!

20 Nov 2023S9 Ep7: AJ Pritchard on leaving Strictly, watching his brother on Love Island and staying motivated 00:34:34
On this week’s #MondayMile podcast, I take in the sunny sights of West-London with former Strictly Come Dancing professional and TV personality @aj11ace

AJ’s competitive spirit led him from the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent to the ballroom of Strictly for four wonderful seasons. He’s also wowed the judges with his apple crumble on Celebrity MasterChef, and he took on the jungle in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

We chat about his decision to leave Strictly, and why he felt it was his time to move on and say yes to other opportunities. He also opened up about his perspective on his brother @curtisprichard12’s Love Island experience, and the importance of having a good support system after leaving a reality show. We also talk in depth about how he stays happy and healthy, his fitness routine and his daily ‘eggs on toast, a cup of tea and crappy tv’ – a solid combo if you ask me.

Thanks for chatting with me AJ! I loved hearing about your passion for learning and how you stay balanced and healthy - all things we love on the Monday Mile!

27 Nov 2023S9 Ep8: Abi Burton on rugby, encephalitis, and how being sectioned changed her life00:37:59
This week on the #MondayMile podcast, I’m joined by Team GB rugby player and Olympian Abi Burton. Abi shared the incredible story of her struggle with encephalitis, a rare autoimmune disease that left her in a medically induced coma.

In the spring of 2022 Abi’s teammates first noticed that she was acting ‘strange’, and she was originally diagnosed with depression. She then began to have seizures and was sectioned with a misdiagnosis of stress induced psychosis. Eventually, she was diagnosed with encephalitis and put into a medically induced coma for 26 days.

Whilst we stroll around West London, we get into the mind-boggling story of Abi’s illness, how it affected her parents and how it has changed the way she views her life now. Abi’s now firmly focussed on balancing her own rugby aspirations with coaching the next generation of players, as she hopes to be able to continue to shape young girls lives. It’s super inspiring!

Abi’s story is fascinating and I hope all you Monday Mile listeners will agree!

You can find more about Abi on the NEW Sporty AF series from Team GB. A group of inspirational female athletes laying all cards on the table.

04 Dec 2023S9 Ep9: Dr Xand on his drastic weight loss, getting married and the effects of Ultra-Processed food00:43:16
This week on the #MondayMile podcast I’m joined by my first EVER return guest - doctor and TV presenter Xand Van Tulleken. In the last year and a half, my pal Xand has undergone a huge transformation after reaching an epiphany about his diet. We discuss his bold new attitude towards health, and how this new lifestyle was influenced by meeting his partner Dolly.
We go deep on diet culture, fitness, and the dire effects of consuming ultra-processed foods that go hand in hand with toxic marketing techniques.

We also talk about his podcast series with his brother @doctorchrisvt and the difficulties of navigating the topic of health and wellbeing within family relationships.

It was so great to link up with Xand again! We had a fascinating chat as always and I am over the moon seeing how happy he is. I’m also ecstatic I’ve managed to convince another guest into a doubles game of Padel! See you and Dolly on the court

22 Jan 2024S10 Ep2: Matty Lee on Preparing for the Olympics, the ‘higher power’ of flow state and powering through Grief00:36:06
With only 6 months to go until the #ParisOlympics ,we thought it was only right to bring back a friend of the #MondayMile podcast – Olympic champion diver @mattydiver!
Matty is best known for winning gold alongside @tomdaley in the 10-metre synchronised diving event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In this episode, we take a deep dive (no pun intended ) into the highs and lows of being a top athlete – from his training routine to his brutal injuries. We touch on the double whammy of going from the Olympics straight into I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, and dealing with the blues that came after that surreal period.

29 Jan 2024S10 Ep3: Gabby Logan on the Lionesses iconic win, her ‘competitive’ household and Strictly disappointment 00:42:16
This week on the #MondayMile podcast, I’m joined by @gabbylogan for a very fast mile, I mean in pace haha. She’s been a dominant force on our screens anchoring some of the countries most historical moments in sporting history. Not only is she a Mother, a wife, she’s former athlete, a broadcaster, author, writer, and fellow podcaster. The word professionalism can be banded around lightly, however this women encapsulates everything that word defines. There’s great and there are The Greats, and Gabby Logan is one of them.

On our (very) brisk walk, I chat to Gabby about her upbringing, including what it was like to have a professional footballer for a father, and how ever-changing lifestyle led her to appreciate change in her adult life and career. We speak about how it felt to commentate on the @lionesses historic win at the 2022 Euros, her iconic sign-off – ‘You think it’s all over, but it’s only just begun’ - and the progress and development of women’s sport
We also speak about her family, and the influence of their ‘competitive’ household. She tells me how proud she is of her fantastically talented kids, twins @reuben_logan and @_loislogan, and how proud she is that they’re pursuing their dreams, as well as how it felt to compete against her husband @kennylogan11 on Strictly Come Dancing
This is a special one – thanks so much for joining me, Gabby! See you at the start of the London Landmarks, Team Fuller and Logan Mum and Daughter half marathon it's on.

We relive his journey into radio, including how he formed a treasured family unit with partners Rickie and Charlie. We also bond over the difficulties of modern dating, including the awkwardness of the apps and dating in the public eye. Melvin’s mantra is to be open to anything, which I love.

Melvin also tells me about his experience on last year’s Celebrity Save Our Sperm, including what he learnt about his own health and how he’s seen it help other men examine their fertility.

We also chat in-depth about the current climate crisis.  Laura describes her first-hand experience of extreme weather events, lays out what our future could look like, and shares some simple ways each of us can help to reduce the impact we make on the planet  It’s a refreshing level of optimism in these bleak times!

03 Mar 2024S10 Ep8: JASON FOX ON MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS, BRUTAL SAS TRAINING AND DEALING WITH MATT HANCOCK ON ‘CELEBRITY SAS: WHO DARES WINS’00:40:26
Joining me on #MondayMile this week is @jason_carl_fox – author, mental health advocate, former Special Forces operative and current SAS: Who Dares Wins Directing Staff.

During an incredibly brave and vulnerable chat, we dig deep into Jason’s life and career. He tells all about his path into the military, and how his natural desire for challenge drew him to the Special Forces. We also touch on the reality of SAS: Who Dares Wins, including how it compares to real SAS selection (it doesn’t), whether he feels bad for tormenting recruits (he doesn’t) and whether he thinks I could handle an interrogation scenario (he DEFINITELY doesn’t). He also spills all about THAT viral Matt Hancock moment.

Jason is also incredibly open with me about the lowest point in his journey – an abandoned attempt to take his own life. After, being diagnosed with PTSD in 2012, Jason was discharged from the military and was left to wrestle with drastically changed personal and professional circumstances, sending his mental health spiralling. He talks about his rock bottom, and the moment he decided to be honest with himself and others, take therapy seriously and do the work to save his own life. It’s powerful stuff, and it’s really amazing to hear it from a man like Jason, who now uses his own story to help others.

One of the most important episodes we’ve ever done – thank you so much for sharing with me Jason!

07 Apr 2024S11 Ep1: CHERRY HEALEY ON MENOPAUSE, MANIFESTATION AND DATING APPS00:40:52
#MondayMile is back! This series we’re taking the Mile to some very special locations – kicking off with a @pandocruises ship! I’m joined by boss chick @cherryhealey, best known as co-presenter on Inside The Factory, and her for own documentaries on @bbcthree. Cherry and I cover a lot of ground, quite literally, as she takes me on an in-depth tour of the ship.

I learn all about her onboard wellness workshops, as well as her own health and wellness journey. Cherry is perimenopausal, and we chat about the stigma associated with ageing, as well as the lifestyle adjustments she’s made as her body’s changed. Cherry also makes sure to pay tribute to the woman in media who paved the way for open discussions about the menopause (@davinamccall, @mariella_frostrup, @penny.lancaster) which is SO important!

I also probe her about the new love in her life, who she met through a dating app. We talk all about the new modern ways of finding love and how staying open is the key – not sure if she’s quite convinced me to redownload Raya yet though. Maybe it’s all down to the power of manifestation; Cherry’s got so much good going on her life, so she tells me how she talked the universe into sending it her way. I think we can all learn from that one!

So pleased to be kicking off this new series with a fantastic chat with a fantastic woman. I’ll see you on a wellness cruise very soon, Cherry!

14 Apr 2024S11 Ep2: GREGG WALLACE ON 20 YEARS OF MASTERCHEF AND FAMILY LIFE 00:35:28

A brand new Monday means a brand new Mile, and in today’s ep I’m joined by British TV legend @greggawallace. You’ll know him as a judge on @masterchefuk,  but you may not be as familiar with his mission to transform our country’s health through his lifestyle platform @greggwallace.health.

I catch up with Gregg in the middle of filming Series 20 of MasterChef, where he tells us how the show has stayed fresh after decades on the air. Television is a mad world to navigate even if you’re not as busy as him, so I ask him about how he manages such a hectic lifestyle. He plans meticulously, and squeezes a lot in - including plenty of time with his wife Anna and youngest son Sid, who has severe Autism.

Strict planning also helped Gregg achieve huge weight loss in recent years. He cut out fast food and snacks and started centring his diet on healthy, hearty meals. Now Gregg helps others do the same through his website GreggWallace.Health, with the mission of halting the fast-rising obesity crisis striking our country. It’s a noble cause!

There’s lots to take away from our chat – which is ironic as I won’t be touching one of those for a while…thanks Gregg!

21 Apr 2024S11 Ep3: LEAH MCCOURT ON MMA AND HER DEVASTATING INJURY 00:31:51
I’m back on home turf for this week’s Monday Mile! It’s exciting to be back in Belfast, and even more exciting to be chatting to world champion MMA fighter Leah ‘The Curse’ McCourt (@leahmccourtmma). She’s the #1 Featherweight fighter in @bellatormma, as well as a Black belt in Brazilian jujitsu and judo. Basically, she’s a savage

Our walk takes us near the SSE Arena, where Leah was due to fight Sinead Kavanagh for the second time last month – but the fight never happened due to a HORRIFIC injury Leah suffered in training. Leah reveals exactly what happened, and talks about the pain of missing out on that opportunity (and also the very real pain of her broken rib!)

She’s both fearless and friendly, which I discover as she opens up about her tough path into MMA, including her training AND working full time while raising her daughter, and being early to the game in women’s MMA. Leah’s keen to share why she thinks it’s the most exciting sport in the world, but also what might need to change about the sport – specifically when it comes to those brutal weight cuts -

Thanks for joining me, Leah!

28 Apr 2024S11 Ep4: EILISH MCCOLGAN ON HER RECORD-BREAKING WIN AND FOLLOWING IN HER MOTHER’S FOOTSTEPS00:33:53
We’re sprinting into a new week as I’m joined by @eilishmccolgan for another #MondayMile episode! 🏃‍♀️

Eilish is a 4x European Championships medallist and 3x Olympian who became the 10,000 metres champion at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, breaking her own’s Mum’s record that she’d held for 31 years 🤯  We chat about that amazing moment, and she tells me how it feels following in her incredible mum’s footsteps 🏃‍♀️

We also look forward to this year’s Olympics, delving into what it takes to qualify and the tough process of her recovering from an injury to get back to peak fitness 💪

Running is a tough sport, physically and mentally, but Eilish is fortunate to have her partner Michael along for the ride wherever she goes. They travel 11 months of the year to train for competitions, and she tells me how incredibly lucky she feels to have that support system with her through those long weeks of training.

05 May 2024S11 Ep5: KATYA JONES ON THE POWER OF FEMALE FRIENDSHIP, BEING SINGLE, SHARING HER LIFE ONLINE AND HER PASSION FOR SUSTAINABILITY00:37:24
Monday Mile goes Down Under! This week, I’ve brought the podcast to sunny Sydney, Australia, and I’m over the moon to share the experience with my best friend in the world – returning Monday Miler Katya Jones. You’ll know her best as a professional dancer from Strictly Come Dancing – and, you know, being generally all over my feed 💃

We spent an unreal three-week adventure together, hitting five different places in India and then Sydney. Of course, we had to squeeze in a pod. We chat about the strength of our friendship, looking back over the impact we’ve had on each other’s lives since meeting years ago. Katya and I really do have a transformative bond, best shown by how her passion for sustainability has influenced me. We share clothes, we shop second-hand – things I never would have done years ago!

Katya’s a special person and I’m lucky I get to see the real her 💕 We talk about whether she might want to show more of that to the world too, reflecting on her choice to be private online. Though we’re both single and thriving independently, we also chat about aging and our ticking maternal clocks – right before we hit the town to meet our husbands, of course.

This episode is so special to me. An open honest and raw conversation between two best friends, with us taking a moment to appreciate each other and celebrate our learnings. We’re each other’s cheerleaders and to have that unconditional support from a friendship is very special ❤️

We’re back with another #MondayMile and this week I’m joined by personal trainer, fitness influencer and health and wellness She-EO @shona_vertue

This week, we’re in sunny Australia, and where better to discuss health and fitness than on the gorgeous Bondi Beach? Shona and I chat about the adjustments she had to make when moving to the UK from Australia, not only with the way she keeps herself fit, but how she helped to keep clients motivated and inspired on those rainy and cold mornings…

We chat about her rollercoaster career - from being a competitive gymnast, to working in an office, and then reigniting her passion for fitness to build a huge, passionate online community.

Shona also opens up to me about how her newborn baby has changed her day-to-day, dropping the absolute truth bomb that ‘balance is a lie’. It’s one of many great pieces of wisdom she drops on me, including the importance of staying mindful everyday and being adaptable – words to live by, I think!

19 May 2024S11 Ep7: WOODY & KLEINY ON THEIR CAREER; FROM BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT TO INTERNET SENSATIONS 00:43:25
Things get very WAK-y on this week’s #MondayMile, as I take a trip out to Hertfordshire to meet YouTube LEGENDS @woodyandkleiny. They were some of the first big content creators in the UK, and I go behind the scenes to find out the secret to their longevity

Woody and Kleiny are definitely known as jokers, so I’m surprised to see just how professional their operation is. As we take laps round the garden of their base of operations, the WAK Pad, they tell me about their journey from freestyle football performers on Britain’s Got Talent, to internet sensations with billions of a views and a robust content creation machine powering them.

Across an inspiring chat, they share advice for aspiring content creators, their proudest moments of the past decade, and their belief in the law of attraction and manifestation – something we can definitely agree on!

26 May 2024S11 Ep8: SPENCER MATTHEWS ON HIS INCREDIBLE ULTRAMARATHON CHALLENGE, FAMILY AND FINDING BALANCE00:56:35
We’re finishing Season 11 of #MondayMile with a big one, as this week, entrepreneur, TV star and podcast host @spencermatthews joins me for a stroll.

It’s 3 miles around Battersea Park, which is light work for the man who’s currently prepping for a frankly SUPERHUMAN challenge – 30 marathons in 30 days across the Sahara Desert It’s never been done, and if you’re not convinced that it’s possible, you will be by the time you’ve heard our chat.

Spencer talks me through his motivations for this world-record attempt. He’s got ambitious fundraising goals for a noble charitable cause, which he speaks passionately about, but there’s something personal in there too. Spencer is driven, and it’s illuminating to hear how he’s managed to take a complete U-turn from his self-destructive, boozy lifestyle to one of routine and discipline. From his fears, his family and finding balance, we cover it all, and I’m left feeling really inspired.

Thank you Spencer, and best of luck!

We delve deep into Kye’s childhood, growing up in Peckham and how BMX ‘kept [him] on the right path’. We even discuss that iconic moment that appeared in every British newspaper, where he picked up his friend and teammate @bethanyshriever after she clinched the gold medal

Kye is a true champion of the people, and I can’t wait to see him smash it in Paris. Fingers crossed for the gold!

28 Jul 2024S12 Ep5: SUE BARKER ON HER BROADCASTING LEGACY, FUTURE ‘QUESTION OF SPORT’ TOUR PLANS AND ANDY MURRAY’S RETIREMENT00:41:42
I’m joined by a literal legend in this week’s Monday Mile – the one and only Sue Barker. She’s an ex-professional tennis player turned world class sports broadcaster, best known for her coverage of Wimbledon, the Olympics and Question of Sport. She’s a huge role model for me, and I’m so proud to call her a friend.

Sue tells me the story of how she broke down barriers to succeed in the male-dominated field of sports broadcasting, landing several prestigious presenting roles. She’s synonymous with Wimbledon, and she returned to Centre Court just weeks ago to say an emotional farewell to Andy Murray, whose final professional matches take place this week.  Her rundown of his career is a fascinating insight from someone who had a front row view of it all.

With her legacy cemented, she’s keen to see others thrive in the positions where she made her name – including me! She’s helped me immensely, and I’m so happy to be able to give you all a taste of her wisdom too.

04 Aug 2024S12 Ep6: PIZZA RESTAURANT OWNER AND PODCAST HOST MARK WOGAN ON HIS ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY AND HUGE WEIGHT LOSS TRANSFORMATION 00:49:04

This week on @monday_mile_series, it’s me and @markwogan13 – the culinary legend behind @spooningwithmarkwogan and @homesliceldn It’s a chat full of food and fitness this week, and there’s no better man to do it with.

As a person with a self-described addictive personality, Mark has lived a life of extremes. These days, though, he’s all about balance: he treats his body well with ice baths and exercise, but he also fuels himself with perfect pizza from his restaurant Homeslice. He only eats the whole thing occasionally.

And of course, we chat about his hit podcast Spooning, which is NOT about cuddling in bed, I discovered. Head over to Mark’s page to see my episode with @katyajones – right after listening to Monday Mile of course.

Thank you Mark for such an interesting and introspective chat!

11 Aug 2024S12 Ep7: CHAMPION ROWER ERIN KENNEDY OPENS UP ABOUT COMPETING AT THE PARALYMPICS, and CHEMOTHERAPY 00:39:13
This week on @Monday_mile_series I’m taking a stroll through Henley on Thames with a lady who knows these waters very well…@erinmwj, a Paralympic rowing gold medallist and breast cancer survivor.

At 29 Erin was diagnosed with breast cancer, which has led to her now being an advocate for early detection and diagnosis. That diagnosis didn’t hold her back though as she competed in the Rowing World Cup, winning gold just four days after her diagnosis and then going on to win the 2022 European Championships whilst on chemo – what a superhuman!

In this down to earth chat we delve into what it takes to be a coxswain, how she learnt to find the boundary between friend and leader with her fellow rowers and how this helped them to win gold. We take a deep dive into her cancer diagnosis, how she tackled the news with a resilient and incredibly positive attitude that carried her through the rest of her treatment.

Erin’s story is so inspirational, it was such an honour to hear it!
