New Missouri laws that passed in the 2023 legislative session went into effect on August 28, 2023. In this episode of MOmentum, MOCADSV’s Chief Public Affairs Officer, Matthew Huffman, and Partnership Development Coordinator, Sammie Jurado discuss developments in Missouri law and the impact on survivors of violence and communities throughout the state.

The state of Missouri now recognizes the third Saturday of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Day. In this "minisode" of MOmentum, Bran-dee Jelks, Program Director at Diamond Divas Empowerment Foundation and Representative Chantelle Nixon-Clark discuss their efforts to establish Domestic Violence Awareness Day in Missouri.

The Missouri Battered Women’s Clemency Coalition, also known as the Missouri Clemency Project, launched in 1999, and remains an important part of the Missouri movement’s history. The Children's Division of The Missouri Department of Social Services launched their Family-Centered Services program to connect families with resources and prevent children from being placed in foster care, when possible.
