Since Dec of 2020, I decided enough was enough
I was at a low point in my life
30 lbs overweight Working 7 days a week Binge drinking 3-4 bottles of wine per week At a loss in my marriage Feeling like a worthless mom Honestly dead inside about aspects of my career Not feeling "enough"
How the hell did I get here????
I went on an inner quest and surrendered to the realization that I didn't know what I didn't know
That my body was holding on like hell to trauma and old wounds I never slowed down enough to look at
And I was afraid it was going to literally kill me
It was time for me to deep dive heal
And not just put my toe in and attempt to "band aid" things anymore
No more shakes/lotions/potions/pills philosophy
I then spent roughly $60K on all of the things I knew could help
Even though there are quite a few of these things that didn't really work, it helped me to find the things that DID
here is a laundry list
Psychotherapy, grief counseling, online subscriptions, life coaches, psychedelic somatic therapy, breathwork, kundalini yoga studio membership/classes, monthly in person healing retreats, travel to those retreats, microdosing with psilocybin, holistic healers, mindset ancestry, books, online courses, meditation classes, mentors in trauma, videos……….and more I am likely forgetting…….

He was born in England but adopted by and raised as the son of a Midwestern civil servant and a factory worker. As a bookish bi-racial child raised by African-Americans in a conservative rural community, he never encountered others like him to look up to or act as mentors, And so he grew up playing with crawdads and turtles alone in a nearby creek, looking up at the moon from the backroads in wheat fields — knowing there had to be more.
Kids like Scott weren’t supposed to make something of themselves. And on his journey, he faced tremendous — almost overwhelming — odds, including physical violence and obstacles presented by those who did not believe that he could or should succeed. But thanks to a few inspiring teachers who believed in him, a lot of hard work, and a dash of luck, Scott eventually made it to New York City, where he graduated from Columbia Law School, and where he has lived ever since.
Scott’s history and triumphs against adversity led to unlikely and unexpected success as an attorney, government official, nonprofit executive, entrepreneur, and community leader in one of the toughest cities on earth. His journey has flown in the face of those who believed that individuals like him — working folks, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community — could not and should not succeed, let alone lead. His ability to jump over barriers, consistently perform at the highest levels across professional sectors and repeatedly reinvent himself have given his message genuine authority and intellectual heft. If the last name didn’t already give it away, Artem Kuznetsov was born in the Eastern European country of Belarus. After moving to the US in 1993 and without a word of English, Artem quickly immersed his mind in everything and anything creative. His inability to sit still and urge to create made him a natural people magnet. In 2002, he joined Pre-paid Legal, where he gained sales and leadership experience by building a sales organization of 1,500+ people. It was around this time that he had an opportunity to meet Anthony Robbins.
Artem was so inspired that any amount of failure only motivated him more. In fact, he lives by Napoleon Hill’s quote, “every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
From 2002 - until 2016 he has started and operated 7 companies and in 2016 after selling his last company he needed to reconnect with himself, step away from business and decided to exit everything and take 4+ months sabbatical in SE Asia. This sabbatical among many other shifts and pivots put Artem on a path to embrace life that he refers to as Beautiful Uncertainty.
Today Artem is what many refer to as a new breed of entrepreneurs, a Digital Nomad, living in Medellin Colombia while impatiently waiting to hop around new countries when travel gets back to normal.

Tune in today for her life giving story Karen is a travel expert with over 20 years outdoor adventure and travel experience. She left a successful career in IT to pursue a lifelong dream of owning her own business. From that dream emerged her first travel company which launched in 2015. With the events of the past few years, Karen’s driving passion has evolved into helping entrepreneurs create life-changing transformational retreats for their clients.
Karen is a 3-time published author, certified first responder and has achieved a third rank scuba diving certification in Rescue Diving. She hiked the 270-mile Superior Hiking Trail solo, backpacked over 2,000 miles and has traveled to 7 countries and 24 states.
It’s been in the past few years, however, that Karen has faced the most difficult challenges of her life. She went through an ugly, extremely painful divorce, was diagnosed with skin cancer and Lyme’s disease, and lost a successful business overnight. She lost her home, went through a period of homelessness and both of her parents passed away.
She made a life changing/life saving call to Coach Lois on May 26th 2022 and 66 days later, she had a new lease on life She found all the answers within she needed to move forward in life and find/create happiness, joy and transformation that she now can share with her retreat clients
She survived through major depression, a weight gain of 60 pounds and a planned suicide.
Today she has a renewed sense of hope and chooses to live a life she loves. Every day she wakes up excited for the day and is in the process of moving to her dream home on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The Truth About "MidLife Crisis"
Now that I am 46, I finally understand the whole term, “mid-life crisis”
When I was younger, I really didn’t get it
And until I went through, what I would NOW understand as my own “mid-life crisis”, I need to share with you some very important information that may just help you understand better and NOT feel like you are losing your mind
First let’s talk about the definition
Webster defines this crisis as follows:
midlife crisis. noun. : a period of emotional turmoil in middle age caused by the realization that one is no longer young and characterized especially by a strong desire for change.
Others would say this
“A midlife crisis is often seen as a period of self-reflection, questioning, and emotional turmoil that can come in middle adulthood — usually happening for people in their 40s and 50s. The journey through a midlife crisis often unfolds in three stages: the trigger, the search for meaning, and acceptance.”
Calm.com defined it as this:
“The definition of a midlife crisis is a period of transition in life where someone struggles with their identity and self-confidence. It happens anywhere from 40 years old to 60 years old and affects men and women. A midlife crisis is not a disorder but is mainly psychological.”
I can definitely say in my early 40s is when I hit a period of self reflection, questioning my purpose and had a helluva lot of emotional turmoil
I had lost myself, lost my parents, my older brother, many friends….as people started dying, it also forced me to look at how much time I had left on this earth and wanted to course correct
I literally didn’t like the person I saw in the mirror.
While some people might go and buy a ferrari or buy a new home or new wardrobe at this point, I chose to have a spiritual awakening instead 🙂
But here’s the kicker
After I went through 2.5 years of healing and actually DID remember who I truly am and reconnected with my life purpose, I also found out some really important information about roughly WHY so many go through a huge shift or “crisis” between ages 40-60
I saw what I am about to share with you in myself, my husband (who is 7 years older than me), as well as in many of our clients (the average age of our clients is roughly 40-50 years old)
While the definitions above is mostly reflecting on the “physical realm” and “psychological” (although not a disorder or mental illness), I am here to tell you that this mid life crisis is anything BUT psychological in nature
There is so much more to the story

Magdalena and Emmanuel have experienced a LOT of grief
In addition to divorce, massive business failure leading to homelessness, intense traumas, etc., they have lost 12 friends to suicide and many friends/family to addiction (alcohol mostly)
With that level of grief and trauma piled up, they were dead inside themselves and were living lives as shells of people - not REALLY living
With completing immense amounts of healing through sacred plants and spiritual teachers and somatic healers, they now are coming out to share their deepest, tear jerking stories for you to hear

This is the time of year where we reflect and also think about contribution (giving) Hans Parge knows a lot about this and it has driven him to succeed in mind/body and spirit
His background is biomedical research and pharmaceutical drug discovery. His basic training was as a structural biologist and X-ray crystallographer. He did his PhD in Trinity College in Dublin and did post doctorate work in Berlin at the Free University , the University of Edinburgh and then to Scripps research institute in San Diego. He worked at the Scripps research Institute doing atomic structural analysis of proteins, The molecules of life. In 1993 he left Scripps and went to a start up company that was using that same technology to help the drug discovery process. From 1993 to 2009 his career was structure based drug design. In 2009 Dr. Hans took early retirement and moved into the world of wellness, prevention and youthful aging, leaving the world of treatment and cure behind. He now helps people take control of their health and age by design with the goal of dying young as late in life as possible.

But it's MUCH more than that We have learned that you can't heal what you don't feel and you can't heal what you don't name! What I learned after Mt. Shasta Broke my heart WIDE open
It has been a while since I had the energy and ability to blog or even do a monologue podcast sharing what I've unearthed lately....the past 30 days have been quite a ride
If you've been following me for a while, you know my story and how I have said I thought I had "5 levels deep of a brick wall" around my heart due to unprocessed grief and trauma
And for the last 4 years, I have been unpacking that 5 layers deep wall, brick by brick and have found more joy and bliss and abundance as I remembered who I truly am at the very core of my Being.
This year I felt ready to level up and go even deeper into my heart - even picked up a book by Marie-France Louvel called "The Heart Brain" to read on the train ride up to Mt. Shasta last month.
For several months, my husband and I felt called to go to Mt. Shasta in northern California
Shasta is known by many who are on their spiritual awakening journey as the sacral chakra of the planet (some argue it is root chakra - but I don't have confirmation on that)
People from all over the world ascend upon this small town and HUGE mountain to heal, to rest and to simply just take in the high vibrational frequencies of the mountain.
Thousands come annually for spiritual retreat, sacred ceremony, healing and recreation as have the peoples who have inhabited and pilgrimaged to the area for thousands of years. This mountain was then and is now regarded by many as a sacred spiritual portal allowing sincere seekers the opening for deep spiritual purification, insights, and experiences. Sacred Spirit Mountain is the Pit River Tribes' meaning of the name for Mt. Shasta.
Purification and a reverent attitude has always been a requirement for the journeys to the mountain
My family and I went there for roughly a week around Father's Day last month - no work-cation, no business plans, no healing retreat.....just simply BEING as a family and unplugging from work
Admittedly, this was our first real family vacation in years since the pandemic and we were long overdue
And, boy, did the mountain deliver.....from day 1
I was so excited to get there around 5 a.m. to greet the mountain on a blustery morning - grab some coffee, grab a rental car and explore.
We were so lucky to have the whole day to explore and we saw lakes and drove up to the mountain to see some of the first "sacred" sites.
But I was not clued in to the fact that that night, I would have my heart broken wide open and go to the deepest level of my Being in that process

What is the difference between microdosing ayahuasca and psilocybin?
Since I have been coaching in the microdosing space for over 18 months, and working exclusively with these two medicines, I have some insights into what the key differences there are (and they are pretty eye opening)
I also have been a medicine woman for over a year with macro dose clients of all kinds, including ancestral trauma, grief and addiction recovery, as well as spiritual awakening If you haven’t noticed, the planet is waking up! Codependency I never understood this word, until I started studying it This was after I suffered with alcohol dependency....but then I realized alcohol was NOT was causing my codependency It was my masculine wound I shut myself down at a very very young age due to trauma Always choosing to be the "good girl" Getting good grades Following rules galore Not making waves (most of the time, ok so I am a real rebel at heart lol) As I grew up and many of those dependencies of good grades, following rules now shifted to adult responsibilities - I threw myself into people pleasing, over giving, starting to get addicted to overwhelm, being ALL things to all people.... Fear of rejection in sales led to people pleasing and over giving to clients and mentors and coaches.... Then in marriage, I wanted to be the "hero" or fell prey to the "Savior complex" because I thought as a mom and wife that is what you did! Before I knew it, I had difficulty making decisions I started feeling compelled to control others and situations Did things I did NOT want to do to keep the peace (which did include over working and over drinking) Was addicted to "drama" and overwhelm in my business associations and dealings (there was never a loss for that, because I helped create it!) It was all a big mirror The Universe kept bringing more and more people and things/events, etc., to send me a huge fat memo I was an over giving codependent people pleasing person I think i could have won a grammy or academy award And I hated myself for it I was miserable I was also 40 lbs overweight as a result One day I woke up and looked in the mirror at my puffy face/eyes and body, slightly hungover (again) and said, "Who the hell are you and how did we get here?" Signs of codependency include: Difficulty making decisions in a relationship. Difficulty identifying your feelings. Difficulty communicating in a relationship. Valuing the approval of others more than valuing yourself. Lacking trust in yourself and having poor self-esteem. AND THEN SOME! Once I got to the root cause of my codependency (masculine wound was #1 cause), I could feel that pain and start to heal it Start to unpack it And I didn't do it alone TUNE IN TOMORROW AT 9:30 A.M. Especially when busy times of the year like the holidays come along, where we see friends and family and have higher levels of stress, as well as seasonal affective disorder (SAD) Today we talk about this on my podcast with Grief Recovery Coach, Catherine Napoli Change is the only constant in life. Without change, we simply stagnate and die. After years in the marketing and business coaching field, Catherine returned to her roots and went back into the healing arts.
Mental health means so many things. Catherine helps her clients find a sense of peace and well-being, while knowing they have the skills and ability to achieve anything they want.
