15 Apr 2021 | #52 My Opinion On Pornography - Part 1 (with Cam Fraser) | 01:23:30
This is a special episode of the #mensexpleasure podcast. Today’s episode celebrates a year of “Men, Sex & Pleasure.” It has been such an amazing year and I feel really grateful to have spoken with 51 incredible guests who have all taught me so much. To celebrate a year of the podcast, I decided to record my first solo episode. When I reflected on what I wanted to talk about, a lot of things came to mind. However, there was one topic which really stood out to me. I get asked on a daily basis about pornograhy. Without fail, everyday someone, somewhere asks me something about porn. I have a lot to say about porn and having to respond every single time with my myriad of thoughts is usually impossible. So I had the idea to record an episode about my opinion on pornography which I can share with people when they ask me for my thoughts. Like I said, I have a lot to say and this ended up becoming a two part instalment. This episode is part 1 and is released alongside part 2. If you’re interested in the nuances of the porn debate, hopefully you’ll find these two parts interesting. I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything, just have a conversation. Thank you for supporting the podcast for a whole year. I look forward to bringing more interesting conversations in the year to come. Key Points:

08 Jul 2023 | #171 From Pleasure to Politics: Sex Work and Autonomy (with Pomma) | 00:49:05
On this episode of #mensexpleasure, I chat with Pomma. Pomma does various forms of sex work and is a huge advocate for decriminalizing and destigmatizing sex work. They make educational content about sex workers’ rights in hopes to humanize sex workers and their needs to people and systems who commonly overlook sex workers. It’s very important to Pomma that sex workers’ voices are at the forefront of legislation and conversations that affect their lived realities since they’re often excluded. Pomma likes to keep their feminism and politics intersectional, because, at the end of the day, what affects them affects you, and affects all of us. When they’re not raising awareness about censorship or decriminalization, Pomma is crafting cosplays and traveling for conventions. Key Points:

Quicky #19 is from Season 2, Episode 10: The Seed Bearer: Conscious Conception for Men (with Josh Fairleigh) On this episode of the #mensexpleasure podcast I chat with Josh Fairleigh. Josh grew up on the east coast of Australia, surfing, skating, boxing, fishing, loving all the outdoor active lifestyle this environment allows. School was very low on the list; this resulted in a early school drop out and the introduction of his first job in the surfboard industry. Surfing being Josh’s life passion; he shaped custom surfboards for about 15 years until his Saturn return when he began to see the environmental impact of the industry and pictured his own health in another 15 years. This was the time when Josh became very interested in health and natural medicines. After an awakening during a yoga course in Thailand with some influential teachers Josh began studying Ayurveda, Yoga, Reiki, Pranic Healing and Shamanic Crystal work and finally found the passion for academic education that he could not find in the earlier school years. Josh now teaches Breath workshops and does energy and Shamanic Healing’s. Josh became interested in Feng Shui as he spent many years traveling the world and Australia, through this travelling from town to town, country to country he was aware of his own moods, perception and reality changing; which made him curious as to how much our environment has an effect on our reality, from the weather, the land forms, water quality, different beliefs, colours, shapes and the spiritual energy. Josh has studied Feng Shui and Environmental studies with the Australian College of Environmental Studies. He now emphasises Breathwork as a tool to facilitate spiritual, mental, physical and emotional health. His work includes 3 components: developing masculinity, working on the root cause of insecurities, and learning what he calls "conscious pick-up.” After recording this episode, Samuel wanted to add a disclaimer for listeners. Though he shares his criticisms of the Western mental health system in the interview and why he stopped practicing therapy, he wants listeners to know that he is still a huge advocate of therapy and recommends everybody try it for at least 6-months with a therapist they really like & feel a connection with (he emphasizes personally liking them and feeling a connection as a prerequisite to successful therapy). Therapy has been instrumental in his path of growth & healing, and he believes there is nothing like it. On this episode of #mensexpleasure, I chat with Euphemia Russell. Euphemia, (they/them) is a full spectrum pleasure coach and bestselling author of Slow Pleasure. Euphemia is trained and certified in somatic coaching, international coaching federation, sex-positive education, sexual violence counselling, trauma-informed facilitation, and has a background in Community Cultural Development. Their work, which aims to support people to flourish and feel pleasure, despite our collective crisis of pace and disconnection, has been featured in Elle, Cosmopolitan, Vice, Harper’s Bazaar, and multiple national radios and newspapers. They are particularly dedicated to resourcing and cherishing people who are distanced from their pleasure and bodies – usually because of holding minority identities and being socialised to be people-pleasing and appeasing, defaulting to others, overgiving, and/or playing small to be safe and liked. Euphemia is of Scottish descent, born a settler on unceded Kulin Nation lands (AKA Melbourne, Australia), and a migrant to Tongva land (AKA Los Angeles, California). They hold the identities and experiences of being white, queer non-binary, able-bodied, born middle-class, and a trauma survivor. ‘Slow Pleasure’ is both the name of Euphemia’s best-selling book and their theory of change. Euphemia believes that by accessing the full spectrum of pleasure, drip by drip and microdose by microdose, readers and clients can feel their own aliveness and reestablish a nourishing connection to self, others, and the land. They see pleasure and somatics as a journey of creating moments to pause, listen and remember, rather than ‘fix’ or accumulate knowledge. Key Points
