From Evangelical Missionary to Orthodox Jew: This is Shannon Nuszen's Unbelievable Journey! In this powerful interview, Shannon Nuszen shares her extraordinary transformation from being an evangelical missionary—trained to convert Jews—to embracing Orthodox Judaism. Raised in a fundamentalist Christian family, Shannon later joined the Christian messianic movement, working with missionary groups targeting Jews, but eventually converted to Judaism and now regrets her past involvement.
With over 15 years in the counter-missionary field, she educates Jewish communities about missionary tactics. She founded Beyneynu, an organization that monitors missionary activity and raises awareness among Jewish leaders. Now, through her organization Beyneynu, she works to protect Jewish communities from deceptive missionary tactics. This is an important mission, as the there are more and more Jews converting to Christianity. In 2015, there were 15,000 Jews belonging to Messianic congregations here in Israel – as of 2020, there were more than 30,000 reported. Beyneynu has watched this community grow from 120 Messianic congregations and outreach programs to over 300, and there are currently over 200 websites dedicated to converting Jewish people to Christianity, mostly through media in English, Hebrew, Russian, and Arabic. https://beyneynu.com | |||||

Rabbi Shalom Arush is the Head of “Chut Shel Chessed” Institutions - Chut Shel Chessed’s incredible success is largely due to its leader – Rabbi Shalom Arush, and his unique ability to reach out and touch the hearts of Jews and non-Jews throughout the world. Rabbi Arush is not your typical orthodox rabbi. Born in Morocco, he made aliya and moved to Israel with his parents at age thirteen. After graduating high-school, he served in the Israeli Defense Force’s elite naval rescue unit as an airborne combat-medic, where he took part in many clandestine missions. After completing his three year stint in the service, Rabbi Arush attended university, majoring in economics. During that time, five of his closest friends were killed in a helicopter crash while carrying out an army mission. At their funerals, the Rabbi wondered about the seeming futility of life. This tragedy was the catalyst for a complete metamorphosis in the Rabbi’s outlook on the world, and eventually led to him discovering the truth of Torah and mitzvot. Rabbi Arush studied in several yeshivot until he finally found the teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslev. Rabbi Arush learned with Breslev giants like Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Bender zt”l and Rabbi Shmuel Shapiro zt”l . Eventually, they urged the Rabbi to move to Jerusalem to begin bringing his fellow Jews closer to G-d. With his teacher’s blessings, Rabbi Arush established Chut Shel Chessed Institutions twenty years ago. Sarah Rivkah was 9 years old when she lost her mother. In 2006, she started a magazine for teenagers who had lost a parent, providing a platform to connect with other teens in the same situation and professional mentors.

Mordechai Shapiro was born in 1989 in Monsey, New York. Born into a musical family, his father is a chazzan and his mother has a background as a trained opera singer. He learned in yeshiva in Ashar, Netiv Aryeh, and Yeshivas Bais Yisroel. Shapiro made his musical debut as the star soloist of the Miami Boys Choir. After leaving the choir, Shapiro took a break from music until his voice transitioned sufficiently. He was a student of legendary voice teacher William Riley. He worked in other jobs and was a regular at birthday parties, bar mitzvahs, engagements, and as a one-man-band. Eventually, he began performing at weddings and other Jewish events as an independent artist. Mordechai is one of Jewish music’s hottest and most gifted performers. He also teaches music at HANC. He has been described as having the "ability to do things with his voice no one else in this business can". Rabbi Feinstein was a dedicated and selfless leader for the Jewish people to whom anyone could approach at any time with any problem. Rabbi Moshe Feinstein was one of the last of the great leaders and sages from Europe and was a representative of the greatness the Jewish people had before the destruction of the Jewish communities during World War II. We were greatly privileged to have such a giant here in America. When he passed away in 1986 the Jewish people lost a great and caring leader and one of our last connections to the greatness of European Jewry. Rachelle Fraenkel’s son Naftali was one of three teenage boys kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian terrorists in Israel on their way home for Shabbos in 2014. She was thrust into a public role, exhibiting tremendous courage, fortitude, and kindness.
Recognized as one of Israel’s most inspiring women, Rachelle advocates for Jewish unity before audiences worldwide. She is a legendary pioneer for intensive text education for frum women. She is a longtime educator at Nishmat and the director of the Advanced Halacha Program at Matan. Rachel is also co-founder of The Jerusalem Unity Prize and Unity Day project. She lives with her family in Nof Ayalon.

Rabbi Efrem Goldberg is the Senior Rabbi of Boca Raton Synagogue (BRS), the largest Orthodox Synagogue in the Southeast United States, serving over 850 families and over 1,000 children in Boca Raton, Florida. Rabbi Goldberg’s warm and welcoming personality has helped attract people of diverse backgrounds and ages to the BRS community, reinforcing the BRS credo of “Valuing Diversity and Celebrating Unity.” Rabbi Goldberg’s dynamic charisma, breadth of Torah knowledge, and personal warmth attract hundreds to the shul and his weekly lectures and classes. In addition to his position at BRS, Rabbi Goldberg plays a leadership role in many vital components of the greater South Florida community, and in 2010 he was recognized as one of South Florida’s Most Influential Jewish Leaders. He serves as Co-Chair of the Orthodox Rabbinical Board’s Va’ad Ha’Kashrus, as Director of Conversions for the Beth Din of Florida, and as Posek of the Boca Raton Mikvah.
