01 May 2024 The Journey Beyond Lyme | Meet Your Host 00:28:05

Welcome to the very first episode of Lyme & Beyond with Tanya!

My name is Tanya Hoebel and today in this episode, I share with you my 13-year personal battle with Lyme disease: starting with a tick bite in 2004, leading to a belated diagnosis after years of misdiagnosis, dismissive doctors, and severe symptoms. A journey you may relate to.

Despite moving, treatments, and a diagnosis of mercury poisoning that led nowhere, I eventually received a Lyme diagnosis. My treatment journey took me through various expensive and rigorous integrative treatments, including hyperthermia and detox protocols, eventually leading to remission. However, complications arose again after a traumatic event. Moving to Boise, Idaho, I discovered muscle testing and light therapy, which significantly improved my condition.

In future episodes we'll sit with various guests and comprehensive discussions on Lyme and other related conditions.

Join me in the mission to support and educate the Lyme community one episode at a time.

08 May 2024 Lyme Awareness and Recovery: Sami's Inspiring Story 00:51:46

In this new episode of Lyme and Beyond, we have our first guest: Sami, and she shares her extensive journey battling Lyme disease, starting from an undiagnosed bite she believes occurred in central Wisconsin. Sami delves into her initial misdiagnosis of mono and subsequent hospitalization, which eventually led to an array of worsening symptoms over a decade. Searching for answers, she faced dismissive attitudes from healthcare professionals who often attributed her condition to depression, until finally a standard test confirmed Lyme disease. Sami discusses the transformative treatment she underwent at Clinic St. George in Germany, including whole body hyperthermia, and how it drastically reduced her symptoms from 54 to 8. Despite overcoming Lyme disease, she continues to battle mold issues but remains optimistic due to recent improvements.

Now a licensed mental health therapist and certified brain spotting practitioner, Sami has founded Lyme Warriors, where she offers health consulting and nervous system regulation groups to support others in the Lyme community. This episode is a testament to perseverance, the importance of self-advocacy in the face of chronic illness, and the power of turning personal trials into advocacy and support for others.
