24 Dec 2023 | S7 E41: Luton 1 Newcastle 0 - Instant post-match reaction and player interviews | 00:15:02
We promised you some instant match reaction, seeing as the Christmas schedule means we won’t be able to record a full length podcast episode in the studio like we normally do. Instead, Kev and James got together inside Kenilworth Road after the final whistle to talk about an emotional and very memorable day as Luton beat Newcastle 1-0 to end a week that began with captain Tom Lockyer suffering a cardiac arrest. We discuss which players stood out to earn a third Premier League win of the season and how they did it before James headed off to interview some of the key Hatters for your listening pleasure. You can hear chats with: Hatters manager Rob Edwards Goalscorer Andros Townsend Ross Barkley Teden Mengi Alfie Doughty. Let us know in the comments if you like this sort of short form content and we'll see if we can do more of it in 2024, alongside our regular studio sit-down discussions. The next one will be a preview podcast of the Boxing Day match at Sheffield United. Make sure you subscribe so you get notifications when that drops. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Find us at: https://www.lutontownsupporterstrust.com Find all the latest news and features about Luton Town at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Still images of Luton match action are by Liam Smith Photography. 24 Apr 2024 | S7 E87: Wolves v Luton preview: While Everton and Forest whinge, Wanderers don't get enough credit | 00:43:18
Let’s do this again shall we!? Luton Town go in search of a huge three Premier League points when they head to Molineux on Saturday afternoon to face injury ravaged Wolverhampton Wanderers. Sound familiar? Kev is once again joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look ahead at a match which could see the Hatters escape the bottom three for at least 24 hours and hopefully more. The lads look at what is happening at Wolves in terms of their injuries and poor form, but overall how they've shown the likes of Everton and Nottingham Forest what can be done when you play by the rules. They reflect on who Hatters boss Rob Edwards could have been alluding to as potentially being back for this one and how Luton might line up as a result. There is also a discussion on who the key men will be on both sides before the podcast concludes as always with the score predictions. All this as well as plenty of laughs throughout the latest episode of the only podcast to go from League 2 to the Premier League! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Find us at: https://www.lutontownsupporterstrust.com Find all the latest Luton Town news at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Still images of Luton match action are by Liam Smith Photography. Luton Town go in search of successive wins on Saturday afternoon when Sheffield Wednesday are the visitors to Kenilworth Road. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Town fan Dan Barratt-Davis to look ahead to the clash with The Owls. Luton Town head to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon for a huge game of Premier League football and Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look ahead to what many will describe as a must-win game. The boys show respect to the opposition the Hatters will face by praising their recent form and some key decisions that they have made before picking out three dangers that the Town will need to contain in order to have the best chance of getting a result. The attention then turns to how the Hatters will line up and who will replace Marvelous Nakamba in the centre of the park as well as a possible surprise at the heart of the defence and maybe one up top as well. You don’t just want to hear our thoughts so we get the early impressions ahead of the game from three members of the Town squad. 15 Aug 2024 | Luton 1 Burnley 4 reaction: Is this the definition of insanity? | 01:02:41
Well that didn’t go to plan did it!? The Town kicked off another season in the same fashion as the last one with a 4-1 defeat at home to Burnley on Monday night. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to assess the disappointing contest and dissect the fallout from the heavy loss. The boys discuss some concerns which have merit to them, some that don't and also look to see if there were any positives from the match to take forward into the next set of games. 21 Dec 2023 | S7 E40: Luton v Newcastle preview - Cheers for Tom Lockyer, jeers fears for sportswashing | 00:47:42
Newcastle United head to Kenilworth Road for the first time in 29 years on Saturday afternoon and Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to preview what is set to be an emotional day. The boys begin the podcast by sending their best wishes to Tom Lockyer and Glen Rea before congratulating the Luton Ladies side on their recent FA Cup win to set up a high profile clash against WSL side Brighton in the next round. A look back at the last time the Magpies played at Kenilworth Road follows from there. When the attention turns to Saturday, James refuses to separate football from the sportswashing efforts of Newcastle's owners. But we still manage to pick out three dangers in the opposing side that are beset by injuries. The focus then goes onto the Town, who will obviously be forced into one change to their starting XI. Replacements for Lockyer are discussed as well as any other switches Rob Edwards could make to his team. The boys then look at who in the opposition can be targeted and the potential key performers over the course of the afternoon before finishing with their score predictions. All this and a lot more on the longest running Luton Town podcast!
01 May 2024 | S7 E89: Luton v Everton preview: Is this must-win and is now the time for Adebayo to start? | 00:35:02
This is it! It is now or never for the Town and their hopes of remaining in the Premier League next season. Everton are the visitors to Kenilworth Road under the Friday night floodlights and Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look ahead to the biggest game of football Luton have played in since the Championship play-off final. The boys discuss what Luton need to do to keep Everton at bay before reflecting on how the team could line up, who could return to the side and where they can hurt this Toffees side once again, having beaten them twice this term already. The podcast concludes with a reinforcement of how huge this match is and the need for everyone to be right at it on and off the pitch before the score predictions. 22 Apr 2024 | S7 E86: Luton 1 Brentford 5 reaction: Yeah, but did you see Notts Forest's EPIC MELTDOWN? | 00:59:11
Five extremely poor goals conceded against Brentford - one scored - which we simply have to accept. But it’s all OK because Stuart Attwell’s one of our own! We warned podcast listeners that Notts Forest fans are whingers before the weekend and they haven’t changed. Our ability to keep a straight face has been tested multiple times. LTST Podcast will now consider its options.... Shall we take the Mick out of Nottingham Forest in just this episode, or forever more? OK, we’ll also briefly discuss another afternoon to forget for the Hatters as they fluffed their lines with a 5-1 humbling at the hands of Brentford. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to take a very brief look at a day nobody needs to revisit. When they have addressed the game then it's back to THAT Nottingham Forest meltdown on Twitter (yeah we know it’s called X now) to really help them over the hump of that result. This, plus reaction from Hatters boss Rob Edwards and we announce the winners of our big prize giveaway…. all included on the latest episode of the longest running Luton Town podcast! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Find us at: https://www.lutontownsupporterstrust.com Find all the latest Luton Town news at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Still images of Luton match action are by Liam Smith Photography. 01 Feb 2024 | S7 E56: Luton 4 Brighton 0 reaction: Adebayo on fire and is Rob Edwards Luton’s best ever manager? | 01:05:20
WOW! Luton Town came out on top on what was a memorable evening of magical football under the Kenilworth Road lights when a inspired displayed by Elijah Adebayo carried the Hatters to a 4-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look back on a night no Luton fan will forget as the Town battered Brighton in ruthless fashion. Listen to the boys discuss the emotional scenes before the match when Tom Lockyer did a lap of honour and that incredible start which saw the Hatters 2-0 up before Brighton had kicked the ball in the Luton half. The chaps then reflect on the remainder of the incredible evening of football and go on to cover how the formation change that was discussed in the preview episode paid dividends. We hear interviews with the hero of the night, Elijah Adebayo, and the man who masterminded the victory, as Kev starts the debate: “When do we start talking about Rob Edwards being Luton’s greatest ever manager?” The podcast concludes with a look at our new signing, Japanese international Daiki Hashioka, and, away from football, some big news for town of Luton as a whole. 21 May 2024 | S7 E95: Luton 2 Fulham 4 reaction: We are proud of you | Ross Barkley to join Aston Villa | 00:55:52
The Premier League season ended for Luton Town on Sunday and fittingly the 90 minutes of the 4-2 defeat to Fulham was very much in keeping with much of the campaign with injuries and poor defending proving to be so costly - but with fan reaction like no other. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look back on an entertaining and, in many ways, special final day as they reflect on the game itself and the wonderful scenes after the final whistle. The boys pay tribute to a couple of key performers over the game and the season and send their best wishes to two great people who are retiring after the season. Hear reaction interviews with manager Rob Edwards, captain Carlton Morris, history maker Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, the man whose goal helped secure Premier League football, Jordan Clark, and the player who tasted Premier League football for the first time in James Shea. We also discuss, if the rumours prove to be true, our player of the season Ross Barkley's imminent move to Aston Villa. Luton Town head to Old Trafford for the first time since September 1991 on Saturday and Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Town fan Dan Barratt-Davis to preview the big game. They discuss Jacob’s recent recall to the Scotland squad, as well as how he has settled in at Kenilworth Road and how seeing so many familiar faces helped with that. The two then talk about how Jacob’s journey has mirrored that of the Town and how he and his team-mates want it more because of how hard they have had to work to get to the Premier League. There is a look ahead to the season as a whole and the fuel in the fire to prove everyone wrong both personally and collectively. All this and much more with the new recruit!

Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and they have a very special guest with them for the January Deep Dive as Luton Town chairman David Wilkinson comes in for a chat. The podcast begins by looking back on the season so far with the high points discussed as well as the chances of avoiding the drop and how a significant transfer deal was actually done. 21 Feb 2024 | S7 E63: Liverpool v Luton preview: Could the Hatters be visiting Anfield at a good time? | 00:43:38
16 years on from the last time Luton Town went to Anfield, the Hatters head to the red half of Merseyside on Wednesday evening to take on the Premier League leaders as Liverpool are the opposition for Rob Edwards’ men. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look ahead to a daunting looking clash, although could Luton be getting Liverpool at a good time in light of the number of home players out injured or doubtful, and a cup final just four days away for the Reds? As ever, the boys pick out the threats from the opposition before looking at how Luton could line up in the big game. Will the Hatters make any more changes to their starting XI? The chaps then look at the ways that Luton can get at this Liverpool side as they look to pick up the first truly big scalp of the season, before the podcast concludes with the score predictions. 12 Dec 2023 | S7 E38: Luton 1 Man City 2: For 17 minutes, Adebayo’s goal had 10,000 of us dreaming | 01:09:13
It isn’t Groundhog Day but once again it was so near but yet so far as for the second time in less than two years Luton Town led the European champions only to fall to defeat as they went down 2-1 to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. Yes we were all dreaming that the seemingly impossible could actually come true for 17 beautiful minutes but it wasn’t to be! Kev is once again joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe for the Man City review episode of the podcast with the boys looking back on how the 90 minutes transpired, how Luton largely held their own and contained the champions for large periods. The boys once again eulogise over a special piece of football that led to the Hatters opening the scoring before dissecting the goals which ultimately sent the Town to defeat. There were plenty of positives and they all get highlighted and the episode includes the reaction of boss Rob Edwards, Marvelous Nakamba, goalscorer Elijah Adebayo and Jacob Brown. All this and lots more on the longest running Luton Town podcast!
20 Feb 2024 | S7 E62: Luton 1 Man United 2 reaction: Gaffes, ref rage, but pay Arsenal what they want for Sambi | 01:13:56
Gutted but so very proud! That was the feeling of Kev and The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe after witnessing Luton give everything they had but come up short to go down 2-1 to Manchester United. Listen to the boys recap the major moments of the 90 minutes including all three goals and the many other chances that came along over the course of what was a pulsating contest to witness. The big talking points include the terrible display by a set of officials who started the game badly and got progressively worse before the key men in a Town shirt were profiled individually, including the best piece of defensive midfield play Kev has ever seen! Listen for all this plus the post-match reactions of Rob Edwards, Cauley Woodrow, Tahith Chong and Thomas Kaminski and much more on the longest running Luton Town podcast! --------------------------------------------------------------- Find us at: https://www.lutontownsupporterstrust.com Find all the latest Luton Town news at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Still images of Luton match action are by Liam Smith Photography. Current club chief executive Gary Sweet was part of the group that effectively forced the club into administration and out of Mr Gurney's control, for a new consortium to take over, headed up by Bill Tomlins. Another change of ownership again brought problems and administration followed again in 2007, until the club was eventually bought out by the fan-led 2020 consortium, headed up by Sweet, which has now helped steer the history-making Hatters from the non-league to the Premier League. The Supporters' Trust is a democratic, non-profit organisation run by fans for fans. The purpose of a Trust is to help fans to join together and strengthen their influence over the way Luton Town Football Club is run, and to improve the links between their club and the community it serves. In a way, we’re like a union, believing that many voices are stronger than one and that the best way to influence the club is to represent many fans, not just ourselves. We have defended the Club in the tough times and maintain a shareholding in the Club to ensure we are able to protect and celebrate the future. We act as custodian of the image rights of the Club – to protect the Club name, kit colours, Club crest and mascot for the long-term interests of the Club. And like our Club, we have integrity. We believe in fair play and are committed to represent the fans and influence the regulation and its enforcement of football. And to collaborate with other Trusts to share our ideas, learn from best practice and presented a stronger voice to the authorities. Join the Trust for as little as £10 a year (adults) and £5 for children and seniors. We offer exclusive benefits, podcasts and meet the manager and players events and are committed to continually improving the experience of the Hatters’ fans, bringing the team closer to the fans and bringing the supporters’ voice into the boardroom, validating proposed activities and decisions that impact the fans. We encourage the you to get involved, to enjoy the thrill (the ups and the downs!) of supporting Luton Town, and we raise money for both the fans and the community/charity, along with the Club, to help with immediate needs as we have seen during the recent COVID crisis, and to build a better future through significant capital projects.
11 Mar 2024 | S7 E70: Crystal Palace 1 Luton 1 reaction: Like the Terminator, we absolutely will not stop! | 00:48:21
There were absolute limbs in the away end as Cauley Woodrow led a smash and grab to savour at Selhurst Park as Luton Town left it late to come from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look back on what turned into an incredible afternoon in the battle to beat the drop. Listen to the boys pay homage to the Town players who are decimated by injury and literally on their knees but refuse to give up as they look to remain in the Premier League. The chaps reflect on the entire 90 minutes from start to finish, picking out all the key moments. The discussion then turns to just how important that late leveller could prove to be in the overall picture both to Luton and the Premier League table. Kev is once again joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Luton fan Dan Barratt-Davis to look ahead to a clash with the league leaders for the second time this season when this time Arsenal head to Kenilworth Road – on James’ birthday! The historical nature of this fixture isn’t lost on anyone and the boys reflect on the most memorable meeting of the two to date, back in 1988, before looking at some of the threats that will be posed by the Gunners on the night. The lads think they have found a man within the visiting team to target and explain who it is and why before they look into who might and might not line up for the Hatters on the night. Kev is once again joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look ahead to the Yorkshire clash with the podcast beginning by looking back at the last time these two sides met at this famous venue. The boys pick out three threats in the opposition, each of whom we came up against last season, before reflecting on the change of manager in this part of the world. 29 Dec 2023 | S7 E44: Luton v Chelsea preview: Is this the least daunting match of the month? | 00:57:36
For the second time in 21 months, big spending Chelsea are the visitors to Kenilworth Road, only this time the two sides meet as divisional rivals rather than in an FA Cup match. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Town fan Dan Barratt-Davis to preview a match which could very well give an obvious sign of the improvement Rob Edwards’ side have made since losing 3-0 to the Blues in their second match in the Premier League. As always in a preview podcast the boys pick out three main threats in the visitors side, one of whom has already ripped the Town apart this season, before looking at how the Hatters boss could set his own side up and where they can get at Chelsea. The discussion then turns to who might be best served to start for the home side in what should be a great afternoon as the Town go in search of a third straight Premier League win, 32 years after they last did it in the top flight. Back in 1991 that was achieved at home to the Londoners. Can Town do it again? The podcast concludes with our score predictions and then as this is the last full studio podcast of 2023 the boys pick out their favourite moments from what has been a truly memorable calendar year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Find all the latest news and features about Luton Town at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Thanks to the Hightown Club in Luton for hosting our video podcasts. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Town fan Dan Barratt-Davis to react to the incredible evening of football at Kenilworth Road on Sunday as Luton Town drew 1-1 with Liverpool. Before reflecting on the many positives of the night, the boys begin by addressing the ridiculous tragedy chanting that marred the game. The attention then turns to the football as Luton put in their best performance of the season. The boys dissect the match from start to finish and pick out the best performers in an orange shirt as well as rejoicing once again in that fantastic moment when Tahith Chong put the Hatters ahead. The chaps discuss the equaliser and pay tribute to the goalscorer Luis Diaz and the immense strength he showed just to be on the pitch in the first place with all he is going through away from football, while there is also the post-match reaction from Andros Townsend, the goalscorer Chong and manager Rob Edwards and much more! 08 May 2024 | S7 E92: West Ham v Luton ‘keep the faith’ preview: Is this must not lose? | 00:52:44
It is do or die for the Town as they head to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United on Saturday afternoon knowing that defeat will consign them back to the Championship. Kev is joined once again by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and cycling Luton fan Mark Crowther to look ahead to a game where it really is points or relegation for the Hatters. Before we do that, Kev and James recorded a quick chat at our annual awards bash, where we touch on the news that broke earlier in the day that Nottingham Forest had failed in their appeal against a four-point deduction for breaching the Premier League's profitability and sustainability (PSR) rules. Since we recorded the main podcast, West Ham have also announced that manager David Moyes will leave the Hammers at the end of the season, so Luton's visit will be the Scot's final home game in charge of the east London outfit. Fresh from their first victory in the Premier League at Everton on Saturday afternoon, Luton Town look to follow that up with another under the lights in front of their own fans when they host fellow promoted side Burnley at Kenilworth Road tonight. 29 Feb 2024 | S7 E66: Luton 2 Man City 6 - reaction: Haaland is a monster, but here's the problem we now have | 01:03:16
Ouch! Luton Town bowed out of the FA Cup after a 6-2 fifth round defeat to the holders Manchester City on a night where two visiting superstars completely tore the Hatters ragged at Kenilworth Road. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and the Luton Town Disabled Supporters’ Association board member Steve Moore to reflect on a tough and perhaps chastening night of football. The boys pay homage to the world-class talents of Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne before going through the areas where positives can be taken from a Luton perspective as well as a reminder of the bigger picture. The chaps reflect on a couple of comments from Rob Edwards’ post-match press conference and debate the words in full. We also discuss Jordan Clark, Joe Johnson, Daiki Hashioka and a whole lot more on the only podcast to go from League 2 to the Premier League!

25 Feb 2024 | S7 E65: Luton v Man City - FA Cup preview: Can we do the impossible? | 00:43:28
Luton Town put the Premier League to the backburner for what could be a special night on Tuesday when the best team in the world head to Kenilworth Road for the second time this season as Manchester City are the visitors for an FA Cup fifth round tie. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to have a look at what could be an epic evening under the floodlights as Luton look to end the cup defence of Pep Guardiola and his men. The podcast begins by looking at how Manchester City could line up at Kenilworth Road. Will Kevin de Bruyne, Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland be involved this time or will they be saved? Who will line up for Luton on the night? Do Albert Sambi Lokonga, Alfie Doughty or Elijah Adebayo get risked for the match? Who starts in goal and will we get to see a first glimpse of Daiki Hashioka? The lads look at all the possible options. They then look at where Luton can punch a hole or two into this City side and as ever the preview podcast concludes with the score predictions. Do either Kev or James predict a cupset? 05 Feb 2024 | S7 E58: Newcastle 4 Luton 4 reaction: Pure mayhem, chaos, Adebayo's mojo and Barkley for England | 01:09:08
WOW again! After the incredible night of football at the Kenny to see off Brighton last week, Luton went to St James’ Park and became the first team to score four goals at Newcastle in the Premier League since 2021 on a memorable Saturday afternoon. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to recap on a 90 minutes which nobody will ever forget. Even the day after the game the chaps are still in some disbelief at what they saw! As ever the podcast begins with a reflection of the day as a whole, before a deep dive into the action with all eight goals picked apart and analysed, with one man in particular quite rightly getting all of the plaudits. The podcast also includes a reaction to just how mad it is that Luton are not just prepared to go toe-to-toe with these teams on their own patch but also that they are capable of doing it, before the attention turns to some performances that shouldn’t go unnoticed in an orange shirt. All this and so much more on a slightly extended episode of the only podcast to go from League 2 to the Premier League (where we are staying!!). --------------------------------------------------------------- Find us at: https://www.lutontownsupporterstrust.com Find all the latest news and features about Luton Town at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Still images of Luton match action are by Liam Smith Photography. 29 Apr 2024 | S7 E88: Wolves 2 Luton 1 reaction: Disappointing defeat but don't dig out Hashi... and Eli's back! | 00:59:05
It is as you were in the race to survive in the Premier League after the Town went down 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday afternoon. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to reflect on the day in which Luton showed a positive reaction from the previous week but couldn’t quite get the result they were looking for. The boys reflect on the key moments of the 90 minutes and look at where it all went wrong and what the Town need to do better if they are to get the points they need over the final three games. Hear the post-match thoughts of Rob Edwards and Teden Mengi before the boys discuss why fans shouldn’t be too critical of a particular Luton player. 29 Jan 2024 | S7 E54: Everton 1 Luton 2 | FA Cup reaction: Last-gasp Woodrow winner but Super Ted the hero | 00:58:03
It was revenge for 1985 and 1986 as Luton went to Goodison Park and won for the second time this season as a 2-1 win for the Hatters earned a fifth round clash with the cup holders Manchester City. Kev is once again joined by a rather happy The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look back on what could be a huge day not just in the FA Cup but also in the survival battle this season. The boys reflect on the 90 minutes from start to finish, eulogise over a key man in the victory (spoiler alert for once it wasn’t Ross Barkley!), sift through the major moments in the game and highlight the big parts of the win. The attention then turns to three men who have been on the fringes of things in the Premier League this season before a look at some transfer news which could see some changes to the Town squad in the coming days. To preview the game Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Trust board member Helen Gatward to look forward to what those with tickets to the game might see. The preview podcast includes three opposing threats that the Town will need to keep under wraps before areas of the pitch where Luton might get some joy over the course of the afternoon. The discussion turns to any potential selection changes from Rob Edwards. Will Ross Barkley start? Will Andros Townsend be involved? Is there a place in the XI for Tahith Chong? All this and a few other positions are discussed. The boys begin by discussing the initial transfer incomings at The Brache before looking at how fans were brought down to earth at Preston after a positive week. The attention then moves towards the Carabao Cup match with QPR where there was so much more to be positive about and a lot of hope restored, despite a penalty shootout defeat, before the chat goes into the latest rumours ahead of the transfer window closing including the confirmed departure of Chiedozie Ogbene and the expected loss of Teden Mengi, the potential exit of Thomas Kaminski as well as some potential new arrivals. 18 Dec 2023 | Stay strong Tom Lockyer and thank you Bournemouth fans - a short message | 00:04:26
We won't be bringing you a full size post-match podcast this week because, frankly, after the cardiac arrest suffered by Tom Lockyer, football isn't important. But we did want to record this short message in support of our captain and our hope that he returns to health. We love him to bits and just want him to be safe and well. But we also want to say thank you to everyone connected with AFC Bournemouth. Your reaction and support on the day and since has been remarkable and we'll never forget it. Also, please do support each other and speak up if the events of Saturday have effected you. Take care and we'll be back when football returns
17 Oct 2023 | S7 E21: The deep dive - Doughty for England? | Ogbene’s introduction | How to solve VAR | 00:56:41
Kev and James are joined by Trust board member and Luton fan Helen Gatward for her debut on the podcast in our monthly episode for October. Different to our regular weekly pre-match and post-match pods, this is where we take a deeper dive look at all things Luton Town. After reflecting on the horrendous racial abuse suffered by striker Elijah Adebayo, the trio turn their attention to a couple of his team-mates to focus in depth on. They are the left-sided pair of Alfie Doughty and Chiedozie Ogbene. Once they finish waxing lyrical over those two men the thoughts turn to VAR and how it can be improved. All three give their opinion on whether it should stay or go and what they would like to see change should it stay. The podcast concludes with a chat about the signing of Andros Townsend and rumours of what might arrive in January before weighing up the current chances of the Town beating the drop come the end of the season. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like this podcast, please like and subscribe. 15 Mar 2024 | S7 E72: Bournemouth 4 Luton 3: Gutting and embarrassing, but here’s why we can’t dwell on defeat | 00:44:09

The lads also discuss the penalty incident which could have turned the match completely around before picking out the leading performer from a night which felt like a real sucker punch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like this podcast, please like and subscribe. 03 Sep 2024 | Luton 1 QPR 2 reaction: Do Luton have a punch-drunk problem? | 01:26:31
What a disappointing evening that turned into! A night which offered so much turned into huge downer for Luton Town on Friday as they were the victims of a smash-and-grab by QPR in a 2-1 defeat. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to reflect on a match which saw the Town do so many good things but come undone due to two horrendous mistakes at the wrong time. The boys pick out the real positives of the first hour of the match before touching on the moments which transformed victory into defeat and then offer their takes on the various post-match reactions. The best bits of the Rob Edwards post-match press conference is also included in the podcast which finished with a shortened deep dive rather than a full one which is usually the case in an international break. All this and a whole lot more on the longest running Luton Town podcast! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Find us at: https://www.lutontownsupporterstrust.com Find all the latest Luton Town news at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Thanks to The Barber Club and The Lower Level for hosting our new studio. 25 Oct 2023 | S7 E24: Aston Villa v Luton preview: Dick Emery or Unai? Here’s how Town can have the last laugh | 00:42:17
It's Sunday football for the Town this weekend as the Hatters make the relatively short journey to the outskirts of Birmingham to take on Aston Villa at Villa Park. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Town fan Dan Barratt-Davis to preview what looks like a tough encounter given the form of the opponents. The boys give the Villans the respect they deserve and pick out three of what could be many threats the Town will have to try and keep quiet over the afternoon. Far from just doom and gloom though as there are areas when Luton can impose themselves on their hosts and the lads pick out where and how that can happen. As ever, our preview podcast concludes with score predictions from the boys. Do they see Rob Edwards’ men leaving the midlands with all three points? Listen to find out and then let us have your score prediction in the comments! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you like this podcast, please like and subscribe. 25 Sep 2024 | Player EXCLUSIVE: Liam Walsh gives the lowdown on the key Luton tactic that is dividing opinions | 00:23:25
Kev headed down to the training ground on Monday to get some insights from inside the camp straight from summer signing Liam Walsh. He joined us for a chat which begins with his arrival at Kenilworth Road and how conversations with the manager went. Kev then delves into the route to the top and how Liam made it through both at Everton and then England before the attention turns to his senior career. The lads talk about Luton’s new style of play (which we spoke about in-depth a few episodes back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVNhSgDeXjU) and the performances so far as well as that fine win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. All this and plenty more on the longest running Luton Town podcast, which is now a finalist in the best Football League podcast category at the Football Content Awards! 04 Jan 2024 | S7 E46: Luton v Bolton: Magic of the cup or ’meh!’? | Andros Townsend - new deal reaction | 00:52:18
The Town park the Premier League action for the magic of the FA Cup as Bolton Wanderers are the visitors to Kenilworth Road for a third round tie on Sunday afternoon. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look ahead of the Hatters’ opening match in the competition with a reflection on the importance of the cup, both to the Town and to the two chaps. But first of all, the news broke hours before recording that Andros Townsend had signed a contract extension to stay a Hatter for the foreseeable future, so we discuss his move and his impact since joining the club. The attention then turns to the visit of Bolton, where two former Luton players were expected to be involved, however that is already down to just one with the news that Carlos Mendes-Gomes is already away at the Africa Cup of Nations. Two other potential dangers are highlighted. The boys then put themselves into the shoes of Rob Edwards to try and come up with the potential starting XI for the game. Will there be wholesale changes or just tinkering to the team? As ever the podcast ends with the score predictions and news of a couple of gifts given to James with big Luton connections attached to them! 25 Jan 2024 | S7 E52: Everton v Luton FA Cup preview: "Give the ball to Ross Barkley" | Ryan Giles transfer exit? | 00:33:47
Luton Town return from their winter break with an FA Cup fourth round tie against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to look ahead to the clash as the Hatters head to the blue part of Merseyside for the second time this season. Will Ross Barkley’s return to Goodison see a second Luton win on the ground in a matter of months or will the tables be turned? Who should the Town look out for in the Everton side and who should Rob Edwards select to attempt to win the tie? And will Ryan Giles still be a Hatter as Hull bid to sign him? All this is discussed and much more on the only Luton Town podcast to go from League 2 to the Premier League. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Find the Football 365 article about Ross Barkley and Jordan Henderson: https://www.football365.com/news/opinion-jordan-henderson-ross-barkley-england-boos-make-way-guy-loves-footy Find all the latest news and features about Luton Town at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Thanks to the Hightown Club in Luton for hosting our video podcasts. 28 Mar 2024 | S7 E76:Spurs v Luton preview: Is this a free hit? And will the injury crisis ease? | 00:38:25
Football is back! Enough of that boring international break and let’s get ready for some Premier League football and a huge game for the Town away to Tottenham Hotspur. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Town fan Dan Barratt-Davis to look ahead to the game with the podcast beginning with a look at our opponents and where their threats generally lie. The lads then look at who could line up for the Town in the match in light of the recent injury crisis (with Chiedozie Ogbene potentially added to the list since we've recorded this episode) and just who could hurt Spurs the most throughout the 90 minutes. A couple of key battles in particular are also highlighted. As ever the preview podcast concludes with the score prediction. Is anyone brave enough to predict a Luton win? Listen in to find out! 15 Apr 2024 | S7 E84: Man City 5 Luton 1: Were there positives in this pummelling? | 00:50:00
Thankfully that one is out of the way! The Town went down 5-1 to the world champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a game of little significance to the Hatters’ survival chances. Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe to reflect on a tough afternoon at the office with a briefer than usual look at the 90 minutes, with the boys choosing to offer up more perspective than dwell too much on a defeat to the best team in the country. The chaps do find some positives to pick out though and then there is the reaction from Rob Edwards and Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, who made a 400th appearance for the club in the match. The podcast them concludes with a look at the relegation battle as we get ready to start the run-in. 12 Sep 2024 | Millwall v Luton preview: Do Hatters have a fighting chance at first win? | 00:56:10
The international break is over and real football returns on Saturday as Luton Town head to the capital to take on Millwall at The New Den. To preview the match, Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Luton professional boxer Linus Udofia, who will be fighting for the English middleweight title on Saturday.. The boys begin by reflecting on the international break and the talking points from Kenilworth Road over the course of the week, including the flag row with The FA, before looking ahead to the match with The Lions. The lads then reflect on what we can expect from Millwall and where the dangers might lie before the attention turns to who could line up for the Hatters in the contest. Is this the day we see Marvelous Nakamba starting a league match? Will Tom Krauss start straight away? Could there even be a surprise name in the squad for the game? As always the football chat ends with the score predictions. Can any of the lads correctly predict the score for the first time this season!? Once the football talk is done the attention turns to the boxing ring where Linus fights for the English middleweight title at York Hall on Saturday night. He gives us some info on his fight with Dan Catlin including his preparations and what we can expect. There is a chat about the Luton boxing scene and a shout for Kenilworth Road or Power Court showdown! 25 Jun 2024 | S7 E96: Season review as heroes leave, Barkley still set for Aston Villa switch and will Osho stay? | 01:22:44
Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe a few weeks after the conclusion of the Premier League season to look back on a 12 months that no Luton fan will ever forget. Recorded before manager Rob Edwards penned a contract extension, the boys begin the season review podcast by looking at the released list which came out since the last episode was recorded with particular attention and plaudits paid to three players who will be leaving. The lads then look at some of the rumours which are doing the rounds regarding other members of the Town squad before concluding by picking out some special moments of our first foray into the Premier League and reminiscing on what has been a wonderful 12 months to be a Luton fan and a Lutonian as well as an incredible decade.
