29 May 2024The *SHOCKING* Decline Of Erik Swanson: The Reasoning Behind His Struggles |Davis Schneider Legacy Game00:38:59
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 7-2 in the second game of the series. Kevin Gausman did what Kevin Gausman does, giving the Blue Jays another quality start, pitching six innings and only giving up one run in the process. Davis Schneider looked unbelievable at the plate today, having two doubles and three RBI. This team finally did what they should do to a team like the Chicago White Sox, dominating them in all facets of the game. The rain delay could not get the best of the Blue Jays this time, as they were helped out by the rain delay and saved one more bullpen arm for the last game of the series. In a surprising move, The Blue Jays option Erik Swanson down to triple-A, and reinstated Chad Green to the MLB team. It is not news to anyone that Erik Swanson has struggled this season, but what is the reason for his struggles? In this episode, We break down Game Two of the Blue Jays vs White Sox series, individual player performances, the downfall of Erik Swanson in 2024, and all the newest, up-to-date information on the Toronto Blue Jays. 13 Feb 2024Cody Bellinger to the Toronto Blue Jays? / Free agent analysis00:29:03

The Toronto Blue Jays have been linked to Cody Bellinger again in a Jeff Passan interview. Cody Bellinger was rumored to get a huge contract this offseason, however, we are a week and a half away from spring training and he is not close to signing a contract. Do you see Bellinger signing with the Toronto Blue Jays? Why are MLB teams staying away from Cody Bellinger?

Yariel Rodriguez has officially signed with the Toronto Blue Jays! It was made official after his visa was approved and he will arrive in time for the start of Spring Training. What will his role be with the Toronto Blue Jays? Will he make an impact on this bullpen for the 2024 season? Chad Green had limited starts with the Toronto Blue Jays last season as he was coming off Tommy John surgery. Green struggled in his first couple of starts but became a reliable high-leverage arm down the stretch of the regular season. What will Chad Greens' role be this season? Should he be used in high leverage? Low Leverage? A combination of both?

Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah, Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Santiago Espinal, Ernie

Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes.

21 Mar 2024Toronto Blue Jays send Santiago Espinal to the Reds + Blue Jays Fantasy Rankings00:34:44
After much speculation, the Toronto Blue Jays have traded infielder Santiago Espinal to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for right-handed starting pitcher Chris McElvain. McElvain is a young prospect, being drafted in the eighth round of 2022, and spending the 2023 season in Single-A and High-A. Do you think the Blue Jays should have traded Santiago Espinal? Did the Jays get enough assets in return? With baseball season around the corner, we go into some Toronto Blue Jays Fantasy Rankings, going over where your Blue Jays are being picked, and whether we believe that these rankings are correct. We break down our draft strategy, where we believe Blue Jays players will be picked, and which players we are planning on drafting. 07 Aug 2024Can Alejandro Kirk Be The Top Catcher For The Toronto Blue Jays In 2025? | Blue Jays Win vs Orioles00:37:54
The Toronto Blue Jays win the first game of the series against the Baltimore Orioles 5-2. This was a Blue Jays game that we expected to see a lot more consistently in the year 2024. Chris Bassitt had a very good day, pitching into the eighth inning, having no hitter through over four innings, and only giving up two hits and two runs. Daulton Varsho continues to be one of the best outfielders in all of baseball, robbing Gunnar Henderson of an extra base hit. Joey Loperfido joined in on the fun, making a diving catch in the first play of the game, grabbing momentum for the Blue Jays early on. It has been over two weeks since the all-star break, so we decided to analyze who is hot and who is not on the Toronto Blue Jays, going over who will be important players to watch as this 2024 season gets closer and closer to coming to a close. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Leo Jimenez, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Jake Bloss, Genesis Cabrera, Bowden Francis, Joey Loperfido, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes, Aaron Sanchez, Yerry Rodriguez, Cutter Coffey, Will Wagner. 18 Apr 2024Ninth Inning Nightmare: Erik Swanson Stumbles as the Toronto Blue Jays fall to the New York Yankees.00:30:46
The Toronto Blue Jays lose the last game of the series in tough fashion against the New York Yankees, blowing a two-run lead in the top of the 9th inning. Daulton Varsho had a legacy game, going yard on two separate occasions, leading the Blue Jays charge offensively. Kevin Gausman struggled to find his footing in the first inning, loading the bases, but he found a way to work out of the jam and never looked back. Gausman’s velocity was back to normal standards, throwing the hardest pitch he’s thrown since August of last season. Erik Swanson struggled immensely in his first outing of the season, giving up 3 earned runs and blowing the Blue Jays ninth-inning lead. John Schneider made his first questionable decision of the year, throwing Erik Swanson to the wolves in high leverage after being injured for a month, instead of pitching Chad Green, who was pitching very well as the temporary closer before Jordan Romano and Erik Swanson returned to the lineup. Did John Schneider make the correct decision? We cover all this and more on this episode of Locked on Blue Jays. 17 Jun 2024Did The Blue Jays Gain Enough Momentum To Turn The Tide This Season? Blue Jays vs Guardians Series00:38:18
The Toronto Blue Jays get a massive series win against the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend. At the start of the weekend, we were feeling a lot different about this team than we are right now. The Buffalo Boys had a monster weekend, accounting for ten of the Blue Jays twenty-one hits, with Ernie Clement and Addison Barger leading the charge. The starting pitching performed great, as they have all season, and we got something that we are not accustomed to: The Blue Jays scored runs! They needed all seven of those runs in the third game, as Yimi Garcia did not have his best stuff, allowing two earned runs and forcing Nate Pearson to come in and save the day. Overall, this was a successful weekend for the Toronto Blue Jays, looking at it from the big picture. In this episode, we break down each game of the Blue Jays and Guardians series, look at George Springer and Ernie Clement in-depth, get into some other important moments over the weekend and bring you up to date with the latest news and storylines regarding all things Toronto Blue Jays. The Toronto Blue Jays win the second game of the series against the Mets 6-2. Chris Bassitt had a stellar performance against his old team, only giving up one run over six innings after getting beat up by the Phillies in his last start. Everyone contributed in this game, as every single Blue Jay had got on base by the middle of the third inning. In this episode, we break down the second game from the Mets and Blue Jays series, focusing on individual player performances and the big plays from Tuesday’s win. Alek Manoah made his First Spring Training start of the 2024 season, and it did not go well. Manoah struggled to locate his pitches once again, hitting three batters over one and two-thirds innings. It is still very early in Spring Training, however, these are the same issues that haunted Alek Manoah throughout this past season. Is it time to hit the panic button on Alek Manoah or should we give him more time to improve throughout Spring Training? Bo Bichette explained how he feels that the Toronto Blue Jays are being doubted across the league, and he loves to take on the challenge. Ernie Clement and others had a productive day of Spring Training. We cover all of this and more Spring Training News and Stories on today’s episode. 11 Nov 2024Is Gleyber Torres A Good Fit For The Toronto Blue Jays? Blue Jays Rumors/Free Agency00:36:01
We are back with another free agent episode. There have been multiple reports linking Gleber Torres to the Toronto Blue Jays. To end the episode, we go over scenarios for the outfield if Daulton Varsho is not available for opening day. The Toronto Blue Jays lost their series to the Minnesota Twins over the weekend, which is pretty much putting an end to their playoff hopes for good. Bowdin Francis was on another level in August, setting MLB records over that period as he looked unstoppable on the mound. 26 Jun 2024Will Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Be A New York Yankee Before The Season Is Over? | Toronto Blue Jays Playoff Odds00:41:59
The Toronto Blue Jays do the impossible: they actually won a baseball game. It feels like an eternity since the Blue Jays have won a baseball game, and it feels good to get a win even though the Jays are still 7 games below .500. Today was a complete team win, other than Vladimir Guererro Jr’s defense, but you get a quality start from Kevin Gausman, a shutdown day from the bullpen and a SEVEN run third inning that gave the team a comfortable lead early on. Vladimir Guererro Jr. had a great game offensively with two doubles and four RBI on the day but also had two bad errors that cost the Blue Jays a few runs. George Springer and Kevin Kiermaier combined for six hits in this ball game, being major contributors to the offense. In this episode, we break down the first win for the Blue Jays in over a week, big plays from the game, individual player performances, the Blue Jays' playoff chances and an article released by the score about Vladimir Guerrero Jr’s future with the Toronto Blue Jays. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Ryan Burr, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Aaron Sanchez. 21 Aug 2024This *MASSIVE CHANGE* Has Flipped The Script On This Pitchers Season….. | Hit Parade: Reds vs Blue Jays00:32:06
The Toronto Blue Jays beat up the Cincinnati Reds, outscoring them 10-3 in game two of the series. It was a launchpad at the Rogers Center as the Blue Jays hit five home runs in the game, the first time they have accomplished that feat in over two months. Jose Berrios had a dominant day, eating seven innings and carving through a disgruntled Reds lineup. This was a fun baseball game to watch as the offense was firing on all cylinders, the Blue Jays were hitting for power and Jose Berrios pitched long enough that we did not have to use many relief pitchers. In this episode, we break down this wild game from the series, as well as analyze a steller pitcher over this recent stretch for the Toronto Blue Jays, what he has switched up in his game, and what he can do to continue to have success for the rest of the season in 2024, as well as cover all the newest and most up to date Toronto Blue Jays news and storylines. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Leo Jimenez, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Jake Bloss, Genesis Cabrera, Bowden Francis, Joey Loperfido, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes, Aaron Sanchez, Yerry Rodriguez, Cutter Coffey, Will Wagner. 24 Jun 2024Is This The Worst Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Team Of All Time? | Back-To-Back Sweeps | Blue Jays Therapy Session00:43:40
The Toronto Blue Jays get swept by the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend. This has been a week from hell in Toronto Blue Jays land, as Orelvis Martinez has tested positive for PEDs and has been suspended for 80 games, our best statistical player, Daulton Varsho was injured on a swing in the ninth inning of the second game, the Blue Jays have been swept in back to back series, George Springer continues to hit high in this lineup, and the list goes on. This team is lost, there is no direction, the offense stinks, the pitching was not good this weekend, and the management is atrocious. Your hosts Brayden and Carter have a therapy session about Blue Jays baseball, discussing a couple of high moments, and an encyclopedia of low moments from this past weekend of baseball. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Ryan Burr, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Aaron Sanchez. 30 Apr 2024The Toronto Blue Jays scored 6 runs in a baseball game for the first time since April 6th | Addison Barger’s first hit.00:34:23
The Toronto Blue Jays have done the impossible. They have scored 6 runs for the first time since April 6th. This was a Justin Turner legacy game, as he smashed 2 pull-side home runs over the left-field wall. He continues to show his value not only on the baseball field but off it as well, helping Davis Schneider with his approach at the plate. The Blue Jays did something fans aren’t accustomed to, they scored runs in multiple innings and had 3 home runs in a game for the first time since opening day. Yariel Rodriguez did not have his best stuff but fought hard to get through three and two-thirds innings with only 2 earned runs allowed. Addison Barger also picked up the first hit of his MLB career today. Hopefully, today served as a step for this offense, hoping to carry their momentum through the rest of the series. We break down game 1 against the Royals, analyze player performances and cover Blue Jays news and storylines on this episode of Locked on Blue Jays. 30 Dec 2024Blue Jays Fans Are LIVID About This… It NEEDS To Change | Blue Jays Rumours00:37:24
It was a tough weekend for the Toronto Blue Jays, as they missed out on two major free agents they were linked to in Teoscar Hernendez and Corbin Burnes. The Blue Jays offered the most money in both situations, but were unable to offer enough incentive to land either of the stars. This has caused an uproar in the Blue Jays community as many fans are losing patience with the front office and their lack of transactions. We decided to answer questions and statements made by Blue Jays fans and their current perception of the team. Where do the Jays go from here? Is there any hope left within the organization? 16 Aug 2024What Happened To Davis Schneider? *THIS* Is How We Fix Him00:35:13
Since the early weeks of June, Davis Schneider has been in a slump. He is striking out at an alarming rate and unfortunately has taken on a bench role over the last few weeks of baseball. We discuss what went wrong for the young slugger, how pitchers are exploiting his one weakness, and how he can overcome these issues to allow himself to compete for an everyday role going into the 2025 MLB season. We answer another mailbag question on this episode, comparing two Toronto Blue Jays rosters and how they would match up against each other in a four-game series. On this episode of Locked On Blue Jays, we break down Davis Schneider and his rollercoaster start to his career, questions from Blue Jays fans, a series preview, quotes from analysts and bring you the most up-to-date Blue Jays news and storylines as we get into the last quarter of the MLB season. 26 Apr 2024Blue Jays in Crisis: Will Changing the Batting Order Save Their Season? | The Shocking Stats of Springer, Bichette, Guerrero00:37:12
The Toronto Blue Jays have a huge problem with their batting order. George Springer, Bo Bichette, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr are all hitting under .235 to start the season. As a result, it has been 17 games since the Toronto Blue Jays have scored more than 5 runs in a baseball game. Something needs to be done. We discuss what we believe the batting order should be to provide a spark to this offense. The Blue Jays dropped a 2-1 game against the Kansas City Royals as a result of a rain delay, that ended the game after 5 innings. Jose Berrios gets the loss after making one bad pitch to Salvador Perez that brought both runs home for the Royals. The 5 inning rule has always been in the MLB, but it's hard not to feel cheated in a baseball game that only lasted 5 innings. Do you think the MLB should extend the minimum number of innings required for a game to count as being played? The Blue Jays host the LA Dodgers for a home weekend series. This will be a huge test for the Blue Jays offense, as they will need to keep up with the Dodgers if they want to win a series. Will the Toronto Blue Jays win the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers? Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes. The Toronto Blue Jays had their last off day of 2024. With only three games left in the season, the Blue Jays lining looks very different from how it did on opening day. 10 Jun 2024Should Yusei Kikuchi Play In The NFL? | Blue Jays vs Athletics | Kevin Gausman Makes History00:42:22
The Toronto Blue Jays win a massive series over the weekend against the Oakland Athletics. This was a weekend of a range of emotions, from thinking the season was over after losing 2-1 to the Athletics after The Hound On The Mound was absolutely shoving, to a Kevin Gausman complete game shutout, all the way to an IKF legacy game and an insane hit stick from Yusei Kikuchi. The Blue Jays did what they had to do, by winning a series against a team that is not going to make the playoffs, even though it was a lot closer of a series than it should have been. The Toronto Blue Jays are off the Milwaukee for a three-game series against the Brewers, looking to get back to .500 for the first time in over a month and a half. In this episode, your host Carter Fuerst and special guest Skyler Peters break down the weekend series against the Athletics, analyzing individual player performances, key moments and our overall thoughts of the teams' performance in the big picture. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Aaron Sanchez.
08 May 2024Can The Toronto Blue Jays Get Any Worse At Baseball? | Blue Jays vs Phillies Game One Breakdown00:34:23
The Toronto Blue Jays lose another game, this one being against the Philadelphia Phillies 10-1. Jose Berrios got picked apart today, giving up eight runs in his first blow-up outing of the season. The offense continues to be subpar, only manufacturing one run in the game, while allowing the Phillies starting pitcher Christopher Sanchez to breeze through 7 innings. John Schneider got kicked out in today’s game after a botched call by the third base umpire allowed Kyle Schwarber to reach base when he should have struck out. Ultimately, this led to Bryce Harper launching a grand slam into the right field seats. Overall, there is not a lot of positives to take from this game. WE NEED CHANGE. Where would you start if you had the responsibility of fixing this team? Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes. 14 Feb 2024Will Matt Chapman and Whit Merrifield return to the Toronto Blue Jays?00:30:35

The Toronto Blue Jays pitchers and catchers report to Dunedin today. Which players are you excited to watch in spring training? Are there any players that you think will surprise fans during spring training?

The Toronto Blue Jays have two players who have declined their mutual options with the team this offseason: Matt Chapman and Whit Merrifield. Matt Chapman had an unbelievable April, winning Al Player of the Month, but fell off a cliff for the rest of the season. Whit Merrifield was inconsistent as well, posting great stats in July but failing to keep up his momentum in the last two months of the season. Should the Toronto Blue Jays resign Matt Chapman and Whit Merrifield? Which player would you rather have?

The Toronto Blue Jays did not hit a home run with a runner on base after September 1st last season. The Blue Jays could not find ways to drive runners in throughout the 2023 season. Why was this such a massive problem for the Blue Jays? How can the Toronto Blue Jays fix this?

Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk,

It has been reported Vladimir Guerrero declined a contract extension offer from the Blue Jays. With all the reports and confirmations the Jays were willing to send out in a Juan Soto contract, many believed a Vladdy extension could be coming with the money that could have gone to Soto. 28 Jun 2024Is George Springer The Key To Reviving the Toronto Blue Jays Offense? | Ross Atkins Press Conference/Bo Bichette Trade Rumors00:38:46
The Toronto Blue Jays beat up on the New York Yankees in the first game of the series winning 9-2. George Springer has looked unbelievable in the last two games, having three home runs and EIGHT RBI during that period. Maybe John Schneider was right, but we will have to see if George Springer can continue to be productive before we pump his tires too much. Vladimir Guerrero continues to stay hot, with another home run and a double in the first inning. This offense was firing on all cylinders, scoring five runs in the first inning, with their first five hitters all scoring. Jose Berrios did what he always does by giving the Blue Jays a very good chance to win. Ross Atkins had a press conference talking about the roster contruction and the future of the Toronto Blue Jays. We take a deep dive into this as well as some trade rumours about Bo Bichette and the likelihood of him being dealt at the trade deadline. 08 Jun 2018Blue Jays Fan Friday - It's in the Cards Edition00:25:59

The Blue Jays won, and it's calmed the nerves of host Ryan Andrews, just in time for Blue Jays Fan Friday!

This week, Andrews is joined by Stephen Brown of Jays From the Couch to discuss signs of hope emerging from the 5-4 extra innings win over Baltimore.

The fans want to discuss what is to be done with Joe Biagini, and the two pundits oblige with their take on what the Blue Jays should do with him.

In the latter half, praise is heaped upon Randal Grichuk and Aledmys Diaz, and one fan believes this is a huge step in the right direction for Grichuk.

04 Feb 2020The Blue Jays and the One Spot Left to Address00:22:57

It's getting mysterious on this episode of the podcast! Feels like it should be a Halloween thing... Oh well.

A.J. Andrews shouts out her fans and the person who sold her a new iPod before digging into the one sore spot in her mind that the Blue Jays have failed to address with their offseason overhaul. She knows some ways it can be fixed though, internally, through free agency and through other means as well? Why is she being so coy about this episode's ultimate topic? I dunno, boredom, I guess.

18 Sep 2018The Blue Jays and Ryan Borucki's Outstanding Oriole Opus00:22:58

On the night after one Ryan put up an amazing performance for the Blue Jays, it's up to another Ryan to match him!

Ryan Andrews opens the episode with by gushing about the start Ryan Borucki turned in against the already-relegated Orioles, and how the young lefty was able to assert himself on the mound. With performances like this, Andrews defies anyone who tells them that Borucki is not meant to be a fixture of the Blue Jays rotation for the foreseeable future and how important it is for the team to get pieces like Borucki into place.

The middle segment looks at the hitting the Blue Jays have gotten, and Andrews has praise for the likes of Rowdy Tellez, Danny Jansen, and yes, Kevin Pillar. The Nova Scotian notes how important it was for the younger bats to generate early runs without the help of the long ball, and how that approach is going to be crucial to the club's success. Jansen gets particular praise for stabilizing a position that has been a black hole offensively for the Blue Jays.

The final third looks ahead to tonight's second game against Baltimore, and starter Aaron Sanchez. Andrews stresses the importance of Sanchez continue the trends that they have shown in September, avoiding needless walks and getting back to setting up the fastball the way they did against the Red Sox, and how the Blue Jays will use the rest of the month getting Sanchez back into ace form. The lineup, particularly Justin Smoak gets a mention as likely options against Dylan Bundy.

Before that though, Vlad Jr. isn't playing tonight! Sounds the alarms! Andrews explains why Vlad Jr. getting the night off is not only normal, it could be what he needs, before they plead with Aaron Sanchez to not walk four batters in a game this time.

Ryan Andrews pulls double duty on the day as the focus in the later half of the Locked on Jays twin bill shifts to the Blue Jays that are not on the field!

Andrews spends the first half looking at a trio of bats, asking if Josh Donaldson and Steve Pearce will be ready in time to prove their value at the trade deadline, and if Troy Tulowitzki will prove he is still an everyday MLB player.

In the latter half, the Nova Scotian looks at Marcus Stroman's rehab start in Dunedin and what the takeaways from his 4 1/3 innings mean moving forward for the Blue Jays.

17 May 2020The Blue Jays and the Real-Life Implications of the Stephen Piscotty Trade00:19:04

Call her Trader A.J.

The virtual Blue Jays have made a trade, but does that mean it doesn't teach us somethings about the real-life team? A.J. Andrews discusses how the move to acquire Stephen Piscotty and Matthew Koehler from the Athletics for Derek Fisher, Brandon Drury and Juan Martinez came about. She also talks about what she learned from the trade, particularly about Toronto's need for a bat that can actually hit lefties as part of the RF platoon. Also, she uses a conversation with @ThaGreatOne99 to frame why, among the many reasons, this trade would not happen in real life.

15 Sep 2021The Blue Jays and the Benefits of a Loss00:23:15

This is why you don't feed the host reality-bending TV shows before she records...

One might expect A.J. Andrews to be a little more frustrated after the Blue Jays recorded just three hits in a 2-0 loss to the Rays. However, she's feeling a bit more philosophical in relation to things tonight, and merely wants to make sure tonight doesn't start a new trend. She brings up reminders of how quickly things can turn. She also discusses the injury that caused José Berríos to leave tonight's game, Reese McGuire's belief in the power of close games, and why hope springs eternal for tomorrow's starter.

11 Apr 2019Blue Jays Promote Vlad and ... Produce Runs Without Homers?00:17:57

It's late night, and everything is feeling all right for once with the Blue Jays!

Host Ryan Andrews emerges from isolation after taking the Jeopardy Online Test to discuss the promotion of Vlad Jr to Buffalo and a cry for patience as the top prospect works on regaining momentum towards the majors.

The second half is devoted to praising the Blue Jays' new offensive approach as unveiled in a 7-5 win over Boston on Tuesday. Andrews praises the sacrifice bunts of Richard Ureña, the timely hitting of Freddy Galvis, and the sharp eye of Charlie Montoyo to take advantage of a wild Chris Sale. The host hopes this trend continues.

30 May 2018The Blue Jays and the Scourge of Caveman Baseball00:21:41

The host of Locked on Blue Jays is in the dark and it appears the Blue Jays are as well.

Host Ryan Andrews battles through a planned power outage at the studio to try and shine some light on what happened in back-to-back 8-3 Blue Jays losses to the Red Sox. The focus is on the starting pitching as per usual, with Aaron Sanchez and Marco Estrada failing to deliver yet again.

Andrews also shows some ire for the bullpen, taking Joe Biagini and Danny Barnes to task and wondering if the trips to Buffalo haven't eroded their confidence to the point of underperforming.

The host also discusses the re-emergence of "caveman baseball" in the second game and how it doesn't serve the Blue Jays at all to engage in such tactics.

The Nova Scotian tries to end with some positive notes about Kendrys Morales and Devon Travis, but comes around to the struggles of Kevin Pillar and sees the happy vibes disappear.

01 Nov 2018The Blue Jays and Charlie Montoyo's Golden Ticket00:24:12

The second half of the doubleheader is complete with this Charlie Montoyo-focused look at the Toronto Blue Jays!

Ryan Andrews spend the first two segments discussing what the front office wanted and found in the former Tampa Bay bench coach, and what changes can be expected to the Blue Jays' clubhouse and playing style. Andrews also uses the first-hand account of All Heels on Deck founder Jessica Quiroli to outline the similarities between Montoyo and the departed John Gibbons.

The final segment is devoted to a pair of options that were determined this week. Andrews discusses why Justin Smoak's option pickup doesn't mean he will be in Toronto next season, and why Montoyo's hire all but assured Yangervis Solarte was headed out the door.
