We begin from absolute scratch using no loops or MIDI! To kick this one off we create a low thumpy bass line using the keyboard musical typing. After recording our MIDI we process and engineer the sound to fit our idea of techno music production. Afterward we work on the percussion, some sound design is done to the elements so we get the feel we are looking for. Once we laid the percussion groove we moved on to the melodic part of our techno song with a Brass sound. Recording a simple midi we then add some automation to the reverb effect to create extra movement and a cool transaction effect. In our case the master is in 32 bit at 96000KHZ fidelity. We begin by summing the song with the renaissance Equalizer and adding some body with the Vintage Equalizer. We men maximize using the L2, only a few decibels per plugins to make sure we are not squashing the song and destroying the dynamic range. We setup the BPM to 132 and the refresh rate to 48000KHZ. We begin with a MIDI chord progression we previously selected, we also programmed some simple kick, snare and high hats percussion to get a basic groove. First we edit the chord progression so it is simpler and fits the genre better. First step, we set up the sidechain trigger and sidechain the pad so it responds to the kick drum hits. We then import a part of the MIDI and start creating a bassline, we first browse presets in Sylenth1 and once we have something we like we get to refine the pattern.
