The Exemplar of Demacia seems to have trouble deciding between serving his country or being a reckless dolt, and that didn't sit well with us. Most of his potential lies in the people around him, mostly because Jarvan's lore isn't really about Jarvan. But it did make us excited to learn more about Shyvana one day!

We've been getting through quite a few of the very first champions lately. Apparently Riot had a thing for the letter S! Sivir didn't have much going on until they used her to resurrect Azir and kick off a war between a bunch of Ascended, although Sivir doesn't seem to care about any of that (mood). She's a simple gal with dead parents who just wants to rob people, but also maybe uhhh take away Ascenion from Darkin and uhhh use it for something else. We'll see I guess!

I guess the thing about getting to the end of the alphabet is that we're rarely going to read anything new. Zed is tied up with a ton of other champions in Ionia. Annie's release in Legends of Runeterra provides an opportunity to right past wrongs and go through impressions and her AUs. Probably the most offensive thing about the Rise of the Sentinels event is the visual novel. So we ranted about it for over an hour! And summarize, in case you were lucky enough to miss it. Truly we can't wrap our head around the bad humor, Olaf farting jokes, and Senna's complete lack of personality. And that's barely scratching the surface of why this is so terrible. Reading about Soraka being from time immemorial gave us a warm, cozy feeling, like coming back to a familiar, thousand-year-old sweater. There's nothing about the goat lady that shocked or amazed us, and by the end we really were left wanting more for Runeterra's resident seer. At least we can sift through a bunch of banana jokes, and hear all about the various ways she had turned Warwick into a werewolf in the old lore.

There's not much in the Amumu lore, so naturally John went off on the one short story we had and basically just...told you the entire thing. You're welcome! Our favorite sad mummy was a prince or a yordle, was a sweet boy or a tyrannical young prince. No one really knows, but all of Amumu's legends end the same: A little mummy was left to wander Runterra alone and drown in his sorrows for the rest of time.

Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf: A League of Legends Novel: Arcane was a great look into parts of Ambessa's character that Arcane greatly struggled with. We have mixed feelings about the lore moving forward. Getting stories via games like this feels so cool, but Riot Games has gotten rid of Riot Forge, so what does that mean for future games and lore? Without much lore to his name, everyone's favorite giant, undead, monster man left us to our own devices; devices which include conjecture about Sion being a literal big baby and workshopping Noxian infomercials. It might be nice for Riot to revisit Noxus' most recent revenant, but until then we'll have to hope Swain has been regularly changing out the straw in Sion's cage and feeding him sanguine gerbil pellets.

Draven, the Glorious Draven, is more than just Darius's brother. Apparently. Sadly, Riot didn't give us much more than what we already knew, but this was still a fun look into the only Noxian with a sense of humor. Draven will catch axes and cut down the enemy but put a giant rabbit in front of him, and he's just like the rest of us normies.

Kassadin had about as much as Cho'Gath, truly showing us once again how little attention the Void has gotten from the Riot lore team. This Void Walker certainly looks the part, but his  story paints a different picture, one of a pretty average dude who got a little in over his head. Or became Batman, in Mark's eyes. You've got to doll before you can run! Or at least Gwen, The Hallowed Seamstress had to. Unfortunately, that's really the most interesting thing we can find about her. While she's supposed to be a massive part of the Ruination, Gwen is still full of basic protagonist tropes and not much of a personality to make up for it. As well as being one of many Pretty champions Riot is in love with lately.

We had learned a lot about Graves while going through Gangplank's lore, but now we finally get to talk about it! While Graves had a fairly cliche backstory originally, Riot Games made a few tweaks that ended up making The Outlaw more unique, heart-felt, and exciting.
