Rethink Diversity with Todd Corley on this weeks episode.
This week I interviewed Todd Corley. Todd is the Senior Vice President of Inclusion, Sustainability and Community at the globally iconic brand - Carhartt. He was recruited as the first officer in charge of diversity and inclusion at Abercrombie & Fitch, where he spent almost a decade.
Todd recently penned his first book, FITCH PATH, a book about how to navigate generationally-driven shifts in beliefs and values. It goes inside the iconic brand, Abercrombie & Fitch, and explores how Millennials and iGens reshaped the self-conscious symbol of American youth and coolness and forged cultural transformation. Todd offers solutions to help prepare today’s leaders and organizations for the inevitable reality: transparency is the new normal.
Todd Corley is an incredible leader. We spoke about diversity, equity and inclusion. These are conversations we need to be having as parents, leaders, siblings and friends.
Todd Corley is also the creator and catalyst of The TAPO Institute, a think tank and strategic advisor advocating inclusive leadership. Todd is passionate about societal and organisational change.
This is an episode we all need to listen to.

I recently hosted a Leadership event called High Performance Leadership with James Laughlin. It was a day long event that saw 50+ people commit to living a life of purpose. I was honoured to have a special guest join us for a LIVE interview on stage, in front of an audience. That special guest was none other than Former All Blacks Captain, Kieran Read.
Kieran played for New Zealand from 2008 to 2019. He is one of the most-capped players of all time, and the third-most-capped All Black in history, having played 128 tests, scoring 26 international tries. Kieran captained New Zealand 52 times.
In our chat, Kieran covers everything from early life influences, to running a successful team that won World Championships. Kieran is a wealth of knowledge and this episode is not one to be missed.

This week I was excited to sit down and talk to the co-founder and CEO of the amazing organisation - One Year No Beer, Ruari Fairbairns.
This organisation is very special to me. I have been alcohol free for the past 2 years, and OYNB was the challenge that set me on this amazing path. I have achieved things I never knew I would over these past two years, saved a ton of money and lost quite a bit of weight. Being alcohol free is something I am incredibly passionate about, and I have OYNB to thank, in part, for this!
OYNB was launched in 2016 by Ruari and his friend - Andy. They wanted to challenge themselves to a year without alcohol, and quickly learnt that it was a complete game changer for them! They then came up with the concept for OYNB to encourage others to take on this challenge and connect with like-minded individuals who were doing the same thing.
Ruari shared his story in this episode, as well as the inspiration behind OYNB. He shares with us why and how taking a tactical break from alcohol for a while could be the best thing you do for yourself!
I cannot recommend this challenge enough. It has changed my life and my relationship with alcohol.
Please share this episode with anyone you know who might benefit from listening to it!

The Hiring Formula for Success with Lou Adler is where it’s at. Lou Adler is The Sherlock Holmes of Recruitment, CEO, and founder of The Adler Group – a consulting and training firm helping companies implement "Win-Win Hiring" programs using his Performance-based Hiring℠ system for finding and hiring exceptional talent.
Lou got a good whiff of corporate BS and turned the recruitment industry on its head. He’s been a nuclear missiles engineer, ran a manufacturing company, financial analyst for the 37th largest company in the world, director of business operations for the first handheld calculator company, and GM for an automotive manufacturer.
Lou realized that the hiring process was broken so he invented what’s now famously known as the ‘Performance-based Hiring' model. We are so excited to publish our 100th episode! This could not have come at a better time, with Father’s Day in New Zealand this Sunday - the timing for this episode couldn’t be any more perfect! Peter Mutabazi is an absolutely magnificent human. This conversation is one that I won’t forget and it is filled with inspiration and hope.
At age ten, Peter Mutabazi ran away from home in rural Uganda to escape his abusive father. For five years Peter survived on the streets of Kampala, a city of 1.5 million, until one man saw potential in him. This one person not only supported Peter through school but altered Peter’s outlook on life in every possible way. Since then, Peter has served as a relief coordinator during the Rwandan genocide, worked for the International Committee of Red Cross during the Sudan conflict, immigrated to the United States, fostered countless children, and became a single foster and adoptive parent. He speaks seven languages and has traveled to more than 100 countries as an international advocate for vulnerable children.
Now I Am Known is Peter’s inspiring true story. In it he reveals the transformational power of taking risks, learning to forgive, overcoming self-doubt, breaking negative patterns, and believing in a better future. He becomes a friend in this must-read, encouraging you to propel forward into a purpose-driven life marked by hope and meaning.

Today we have the privilege of hearing from Transactional Lawyer from the Ukraine - Roman Shulyar, however, he is no longer practising law. He is now enrolled in the Ukrainian Army. He is currently fighting for the freedom of his loved ones, and his country. He is a normal person, just like you and I, who was going about his life believing that Ukraine was a peaceful country. He thought about war as being something that happened far-away in uncivilised countries. He thought that it would never happen in his country. Yet, here we are.
Roman talks about his beliefs around how and why war starts, and what we all need to be aware of. This is definitely a tough episode to listen to, but Roman shares one of the most important messages in it. Please listen to and share this episode with anyone you know.

I had the absolute honour of sitting down with my friend Matt Brown to talk about his life, the lessons he has learnt and his life’s mission.
Matt Brown, is a New Zealand born Samoan and an author, communicator, an internationally acclaimed barber and hair artist; known for giving great cuts and inspiring great men.
He is a survivor of family violence and childhood sexual abuse and shares his story with the men who frequent his busy Christchurch barbershop, My Fathers Barbers, as a way to foster vulnerability, healing, and connection.
Since 2018, Matt and his wife Sarah, have partnered with the Ministry of Social Development as ambassadors for their ‘It’s not OK Campaign’. Together they co-founded She Is Not Your Rehab and launched the concept in Matt’s 2019 TEDx talk. He says the movement is an invitation for men to acknowledge their own childhood trauma and to take responsibility for their healing so that they can transform their pain instead of transmitting it on those around them.
Please share this episode with everyone you know, and if you haven’t bought it already, please buy a copy of Matt and Sarah’s incredible book She is Not your Rehab.
