26 Oct 2022"Taylor ALISON Swift" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:40:09

Dear Readers... it's us. Hi. We're the problem, it's us. But there really ain't no problem here, because today Matt & Bow offer up the Midnights episode of Las Cultch. Call it a review. Call it a track-by-track dissection. Call it what you WANT... to. Much to discuss! Has Taylor or Tayla taken over this time, or is this a new TS musical persona entirely? What, exactly, is the distinction between midnight and 3 AM? Is it just us or is there a lot of LAs Cultch on this album?! Is this a fuck album? So many questions! It's what you've been waiting for... and no we didn't forget about Carly Rae! Listen now! Meet us at midnight (or whatever time it is where you're at).

17 May 2023"Dishing and Kibbitzing" (w/ Andy Cohen)01:29:42

Here's what: Andy fucking Cohen is on Las Culturistas. And this, readers, is THEE definitive Andy-On-Bravo unfiltered podcast episode you have been waiting for! It is ALL discussed. The author of the new book "The Daddy Diaries" goes deep with Matt & Bowen on not only all things Housewives and Vanderpump, but also Andy's relationship with Jimmy Buffett, his iconic first meeting with the legendary Susan Lucci, MetLife as a flop venue for concerts, All My Children as formative culture and Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos "fucking like rabbits". Also, Watch What Happens Live drama with BOTH Matt & Bowen gets cleared up! All this, JoBros culture, Sunny Hostin as a RHONY housewife, and a discussion on Housewives as both the modern soap and a model of how to navigate (and NOT navigate) conflict in everyday life. Read the book and watch all the shows! We loooooooove Andy!

10 Dec 2020On The First Day of Culture... August 18th, 1953: The First McDonald's Opens Its Doors00:30:21

Welcome to the Holidays, darling. Day 1 of our 12 episode series explores the fast food kingdom with those golden arches. Las Culturistas agree; "This was a day of cultural history, this gift." The girls discuss why McDonald's is culturally significant, how it relates to their stupid lives, and play Marry, Fuck, Kill with figures within the McDonald's canon. Do YOU think they should give two hash browns instead of one with McDonald's breakfast? Do you have a go-to meal or do you shake it up each time, order-wise? If you don't listen to this episode? Precious one, you're without.

11 Dec 2020On The Second Day of Culture... November 11th, 2020: Mary M. Cosby Hits The World Stage00:36:51

Well, it's Day 2 of the 12 Days of Culture and Las Cultch is discussing The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Mary M. Cosby-- OH WAIT SORRY, we meant Mary M. Culture. That may as well be her name, Bowen declares. Her style. Her presence. Her immediate impact. Your hosts map a Barbra Streisand-esque rise to fame narrative onto Salt Lake City's Great White Hope, and discuss how she has Bethenny potential. To put it bluntly, the boys believe that she could become an international mover and shaker from a leadership perspective. All that, gift-giving, collecting vinyl, and Matt tells a detailed story about a real life experience he had watching a star-making moment. Hey, have you consumed today? How seriously did you take that consumption? Are you doing this? Just some things to think about. See you tomorr(ow)!

14 Dec 2020On The Third Day of Culture... June 10th, 1752: Ben Franklin Flies The Kite, and Girl, Makes A Shocking Discovery00:30:30

The 3rd Day of Culture has arrived and we are celebrating that day when Ben Franklin, whilst flying a kite, discovered electricity. Chaotic good, much?! Bowen walks Matt through the fascinating timeline of Benj Frank's life, and the girls spin off based on one of his other inventions (bifocals!) into a conversation about Bowen and Matt's respective lifetime eye struggles. It gets really, really emotional as Matt accuses Bowen of being a "Tina Fey about glasses" (lying about needing them), but the two immediately reconcile. All this, the boys choose their favorite founding fathers, the "beauty myth" during the American Revolution is explored, and a brief word on how poop can sometimes get in your eye during lovemaking. Have you checked in on your girls? They doing crazy shit like flying a kite during a storm? Ever seen a straight guy's ass up close? Anyways, we'll see y'all again tomorrow! xo!

15 Dec 2020On The Fourth Day of Culture... March 25th, 2003 - Celine Dion Makes Vegas A Thing00:29:14

Celine Dion. The name alone conjures certain imagery. A lightning bolt shooting out of a finger during a performance of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now". A huge ship sinking. A mom crying. On the Fourth Day of the 12 Days of Culture, Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang exalt the one and only Celine and share Vegas memories, lift up the bops we've come to know ("That's The Way It Is" really does come out of nowhere sometimes and slay you! HO!), and talk about the underground Celine smashes ("Imperfections"? Heard of it?!) while navigating a space where their own Hot Engineer Doug, a straight man, claims to have been unaware of Celine's importance during the time he worked with her on her huge album Let's Talk About Love in the 90's. It's a lot to get through and says a lot about what a long way we still have to go as a human race. All this, how "goofy" and "silly" are different, Bowen reveals that he does not know who Ava Max is, and the boys resist sharing the ages of their mothers on the podcast. More like It's All Coming Back To YOU Now! 'Cause this podcast episode? Is available to listen to, darling dear. See ya tomorrow!

17 Dec 2020On the Sixth Day of Culture... May 2nd, 1952: Birth of Christine Baranski00:28:33

There was Before the birth of Christine Baranski, and there was After the birth of Christine Baranski. And, God? Las Culturistas is so happy we all live in the After time. The two hosts of Las Cultch, Bowen and Matt, discuss Baranski's impact on both regular and Christmas culture, and run through her seminal work as Mary Sunshine, Martha May Whovier, and as whoever she plays in Mamma Mia! This day, Day 6 of the 12 Days of Culture, is one that will go down in history as the day a true consummate professional thespian was given to the world, and we are damn grateful. Name another legend! Also, isn't it fucked up that the person who is gonna do your autopsy one day is gonna see more of your body than you ever will? Have you been spicing up your quarantine with candles and scents? How's your skin? All this, and Matt and Bow find out where they stand in the vaccine line, on this celebratory and revelatory (hello!) episode of Las Culturistas. Listen....now! Augh!

18 Dec 2020On The Seventh Day of Culture... June 20th, 1975: JAWS Eats The Girls00:29:06

This episode, which is really a prayer, is a time capsule recorded just hours before the release of Tayla Swiff's evermore. It is also going to go down in history as one of the most thought-provoking discussions of all podcast time. The central question? Is it weirder that Bowen hasn't seen Jaws (despite having once played him/her on stage) or that Matt hasn't seen The Sound of Music (despite being Matt)? What was intended as a discussion on the cultural impact of Jaws eating, nay, devouring the girls quickly turns into an exploration on pop culture's impact relative to location and broader cultural exposure. Also, the famous score of the blockbuster film as a "sexual call to the dance floor", how the hoopla around the movie took sharks to the top of the charts, and the reveal that neither of the boys have seen The Godfather. All this, Disney's recent announcements, the incumbent "stan" vs. the challenger "simp", and a brief, tasteful moment of appreciation for Carrie Underwood. You're gonna need a bigger...hug :)

21 Dec 2020On The Eighth Day of Culture... September 9th, 1999: Diana Ross Jiggles Lil Kim's Tit From Below at the VMA's00:31:00

On Day 8 of the 12 Days of Culture, Matt & Bow discuss a whole host of what-not-to-do's, such as attending large sex parties during a pandemic, attempting to organize a large sex party during the pandemic via subtweets on Twitter, and invading someone's space during an awards show! While discussing Diana Ross's well-meaning yet infamous boob-jiggle of Lil Kim way back in the late 90's, our hosts also delve into other problematic instances of awards show onstage indiscretion, such as the famous Halle Berry-Adrien Brody of it all, and the less famous (but pretty jarring) Jim Carrey-Alicia Silverstone *moment*. If you don't know, you will know. Also, some re-litigation of Day 7 of the 12 Days of Culture, and how we must honor the music of the pandemic in the Great After, whenever that comes. We're looking at you, Ms. Lipa! See you tomorr0w!

22 Dec 2020On The Ninth Day of Culture... October 29th, 1993: The First "Got Milk?" Ad Drops00:30:35

Everyone has bone; a skeleton. And while this may not bring everyone together in the current political and social climate, it does group us all as targets for the milk industry. Today on Las Culturistas, Matt Rogers & Bowen Yang discuss 90's Milk culture, Calcium culture, and the "Got Milk?" phenomenon that saw every A-list actor of the time posing with a little milk stain on their lips, as if to say, "I've just consumed milk and would like more." A revolutionary marketing campaign for the culture, our hosts grapple with how they consumed milk as a result of these ads, and discuss how they affected them and their milk-consuming habits, even today. Matt makes a shocking revelation about the contents of his college mini-fridge, and Bowen wonders if the "Got Milk?" phenomenon was successful in its endeavor to "cure osteoporosis" aka the coronavirus of its day. All this, and a detour into Nintendo culture that can only be described as "completely off theme for the episode". Got Milk? No. But we DO got this episode, bitch. Drink it up.

24 Dec 2020On the Eleventh Day of Culture... Date Unknown: James Cameron Has An Idea. The Idea? Avatar00:34:33

Matt and Bowen catch up on their Big Popstar-Adjacent Weekends and ingeniously segue into Day 11 of the 12 Days of Culture: the day James Cameron thought of Avatar. While the particular date in question is unrecorded, the girls agree that despite this lack of knowledge, Avatar warrants mention. Leona Lewis as the “Celine Dion of the project," Zoe Saldana’s Oscar buzz, what it’s like to take a genuine Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom...it’s all here! Listen now!

12 Mar 2025"We're Gonna Dance" (w/ Lady Gaga)01:13:04

So... LADY GAGA is on Las Culturistas. Somehow, we've reached the moment where the timeless artist herself sits down with Matt and Bowen to sort through the MAYHEM. The three chat about Gaga's incredible seventh album, rain as production value, choosing "Shallow" to perform at SNL50 and just how important SNL is to Lady Gaga and all the musical artists who get the opportunity to guest on the show. All this, dark arts and the poetry of pop music, transitioning from being a student of fame to being a student of entertainment, the role of humor in Gaga's creativity, the importance of the Chromatica Ball, how it really feels to be called "chaotic", and the choice to end her album with "Die With A Smile". Also, speaking up on trans rights at the Grammys, a tiny little preview of Coachella (but not really), Broadway hopes and dreams, whether or not a lighthearted film is in Gaga's future and how community is truly everything. What a perfect day! What a perfect pop icon for us all! And what perfect MAYHEM! Check out the album if you... haven't? But also... who are you? You should be OFF BOOK by now. Xo Killahs

All this, synesthesia, the London rave scene and party culture, clubbing with parents, performing on the Coachella stage, the upcoming SWEAT tour with Troye Sivan, graphic tee culture, Bowen Yang's thoughts on pubic hair texture, superiority towards reality TV, and Dr. Orna Guralnik. Four glowing, radiant and ravishing people gather to record a podcast. We?! Did THAT! Hosts of the Exploration: Live! podcast Charlie Bardey and Natalie Rotter-Laitman are in a small, warm room with Matt & Bowen in NYC to talk sad girl pageant culture, being on INDICTMENT WATCH (and hey...we GOT HIM!), social anticipation, the use, pronunciation and spelling of words, SLUCK's return to nightlife, product placement in porn, identifying as Mommy or Daddy, and the era when Brie Larson was serving "The Sister". Also, Austin Powers and the discourse around "mojo", Heather Graham, Elizabeth Hurley, STAR magazine, the Brad and Jen divorce drama, Fashion Police and the sartorial evaluation of celebrities in the tabloid era, Bowen's mother's intense and storied reaction to a photo of Jessica Simpson, and how we approach Britney nowadays. All this, as well as the following "hows": how straight guys need to realize stand up is theater, how being an adult means nothing (even if you're a teacher), how maybe a capella actually needs instruments, how Madame Morrible is the most crucial role in Wicked, and how Gizelle Bryant just went for it re: the F slur. And!!! There's more!!! Moana, Again?! Harry Potter, Again?! "Skip Ad culture"?! A discussion on "top billing" culture?! Carolyn on Survivor?! You know what? Bye Felicia! Go listen. Sound the alarm and belt to the high heavens because, God?! Today on the podcast is Bonnie Milligan! The star of the incredible hit Broadway musical Kimberly Akimbo joins Matt & Bowen after some quick updates (we did not yet watch #ReFroWeHo, Matt went to Sundance and Disney World, Bowen battled through a cold to play George Santos) to talk working with legends like Victoria Clark, Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay Abaire on this new show, vocal health and making good choices while singing *and* speaking, the value of both being and being *around* a loud laugher, the great diva voices of the 90's, The Rocky Horror Picture Show as an influence on little performances at recess, and the journey that Bonnie (who currently holds the distinction of singing the highest belted note on Broadway) took to finally realize herself as a BELTRESS. Also, the girls witchily predict Andrea Riseborough's Best Actress Oscar nomination for To Leslie and love even more on two It Girls of the moment: M3GAN and Stephanie Hsu (CONGRATULATIONS, FLARGE!) They also get into "snub" culture, "sirens in pop songs" culture, and ask the question on everyone's lips: when the hell can we watch A Diva's Christmas Carol starring Vanessa Williams as Ebony Scrooge?! 25 Oct 2023"You Shook Gaga" (w/ Matt & Bowen)00:57:18

Bowen is a little sickstress this week, so he's invited Matt to his new home to record an episode of Las Cultch and contract whatever he has. Stanley cups in hand, the two discuss, well, pop cultural topics! "Such as?" you ask? Well, Chappell Roan and Troye Sivan's latest albums, RHONY, the "sweeps" TV culture of yesteryear, and an oversaturation of the espresso martini. Also, Bowen MET LADY GAGA, Matt has a haunted weekend in Long Island at the Chambers of Hell, and BOWEN MET LADY GAGA. All this, handwriting vs. typing, earnestness vs. earnesty, a live pop songwriting session, and the naming of the Actress of the Millenium. More like OCTOBER flush and OUR flannel cure (the flannel being this episode). Bye!

19 Mar 2025"Huge Fornicators" (w/ Cate Blanchett)01:37:03

Turns out that we, too, can command the winds, sir! Because CATE BLANCHETT, star of the new film Black Bag and (duh) countless other incredible films is here on Las Cultch for a very fun conversation! But first, a culture catch-up! Matt and Bowen run through their experiences at the Oscars, its after parties, and Gaga's episodes of SNL and LAS CULTURISTAS (which we still cannot believe). Then, the true GOAT of acting sits with our hosts to talk about what wearing white sneakers may mean for your sex life, Barbie and doll culture, Sydney's embrace of gay culture, and experiences at Berghain. Also, Cate weighs in on whether there are too many televised award shows, discusses her fascination with ribbon dancing and rhythmic gymnastics, and unpacks her lack of an acting process. And you KNOW that Tár is thoroughly discussed! All this, the word "buddy", the phrase "hakuna matata" and the nightmare of a toilet seat left up. You wanna fuck me, Barbara?!?! If not, it's fine! We hope you enjoy this episode anyway :) Black Bag is in theaters now!

In the words of one cookie-loving mouse… “The bitch is back.” Pat Regan returns to Las Cultch bearing a newfound obsession with breaking the fourth wall and telling people their FYP is showing. Matt comes in to infect the masses with Meghan Trainor’s latest hooks, and Bowen asks a most pressing question in the culture: Who is mother for this? Stick around for asides on Housewives interactions, The White Lotus, and the concept of using acting to win a competition. And you better believe we draw similarities between Robyn Dixon and Nancy Salzman. Rule Number Culture: We made you look! (Sung to tune of Meghan Trainor song.)

05 Jun 2024"Ghost Whisper" (w/ Ben Platt)01:13:04

What's it like to be in love? That question is answered in this installment of Las Cultch with Ben Platt! The superstar takes a break from his stunning run at the Palace on Broadway to discuss making his new album Honeymind, give inspired thoughts on the recent pop girlie landscape, and explain what Nashville is like. Also, a Noah Galvin cameo, the Presidential Fitness Test, being a consistent patron of the arts, and insight into the upcoming film WICK'T (sp?) from those on the inside. All this, party motivators, the combination of LSD and Maggie Rogers, barbecue in theory vs. barbeque in practice and how the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has altered Palm Springs gay bar demographics. Stream Honeymind! We love BEN.

23 Nov 2022"Flarge" (w/ Stephanie Hsu)01:18:47

One of Matt & Bowen's oldest friends, Stephanie Hsu, joins for an episode of Las Cultch that is truly everything, everywhere all at once. Discussed? Everything Everywhere All At Once and how it is truly the essence of Steph Hsu, going to be with the whales, coming up together in college sketch, shaking hands with Hollywood, Jamie Lee Curtis, the Daniels and growing up as an artist and creator. Also, downtown theater legend Liz Swados and the impact she had on Steph and Matt, how to respond to the question "how are you?" over text and Twitter going bye, bitch. This episode puts everything on a bagel. And the most yummy bagel? Is Steph. We love her! And you.

06 Mar 2024"GAYFIGHT" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:02:10

On fair Las Cultch, where we set our scene: It's Matt's birthday, Bowen is straight and there is culture to be caught up on. Traitors is recapped, Kristen Johnston is praised, and what truly makes a great sequel is debated. All this, Beyoncé's acting era, recent Bravo legal drama, and Drag Race thoughts. Also, is "insecurity" being overused as an excuse? Is Boba Fett just a big bitch? Did YOU vote? Much to discuss this week on LAS CULTURISTAS... the PODCAST! It's about to be a-- what?!-- gayFIGHT!

13 Jan 2021"Jester Flop Bestie" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:19:50

As 2021 begins with a flop, America is not the only institution in upheaval. Immediately in conflict, Matt and Bowen rage at each other about recent culture consumption. Ultimately, Matt has promised to watch 90 Day Fiancée and Bowen will listen to the song "driver's license". So, watch this space. Like they do, Las Culturistas immediately put their differences aside to catch up on culture, and there is a lot to discuss: the attempted insurrection, Trump's ban from Twitter, conclusions on this season of Real Housewives of Potomac, and the beginning of a new season of Drag Race! All discussed! Also, the boys declare their two 2021 missions for the pod: to get Natalie Portman as a guest and to "top Marc Maron". All this, Bowen's review of JAWS, Matt's review of The Sound of MusicRise of Skywalker and Star Wars at large as enjoyable soap opera space camp (and not more than that, nerds!), and... finally... thoughts on TaylOR SwifT's newest album evermore. What would Fran Lebowitz think of the culture you consume? Scary question, scary times, fun episode! xo

20 Jan 2021"You Can't Tell Me Anything" (w/ Trixie Mattel)01:48:52

Alright, well! It's a moment in Las Cultch history, readers, as the one and only Trixie Mattel joins Matt & Bowen to discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the traumas and dramas of keeping a pet alive, submitting to the lifestyle that is watching 90 Day Fianceé and only 90 Day Fianceé, the power of Ms. Mojo, the new season of Drag Race, Cyberpunk 2077 and Michelle fucking Branch. That, and obviously more! Watch Trixie as host of Drag Race recap show The Pit Stop on YouTube and check out her podcast with Katya, The Bald and the Beautiful. Name another legend.

27 Jan 2021"Sister Support!" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:28:47

Sisters provide each other with support in this episode of Las Culturistas that explores so much and yet so little. The ladies discuss watching themselves on camera after Matt's recent good news. Bowen questions whether or not it is ethical to wave your finger and scream "yaz" at a woman who is a billionaire from arms deals on Bling Empire. Matt, for some reason, watched Love Life and actually really enjoyed it! And... the culture of the moment Promising Young Woman gets discussed in such detail that we have to warn you repeatedly that there are SPOILERS (17:10 to 27:22 will discuss and spoil Promising Young Woman, so watch it first! Or skip that section!) Readers, the movie has us thinking! Also, Oscar and awards season at large, Gaga's anthem (with a special close-read of the performance by Hot Engineer Doug), Matt and Bowen reveal what they're listening to lately, opinionssssss on the Sex and the City reboot, Cookie Monster, Disneyland making changs to their fiully racist attractions and some good olf fashioned Wendy Williams appreciation. BABY YOU'RE A FIIIIIIIIIIREWOOOOORK!

03 Feb 2021"Neato Skeeto" (w/ Meg Stalter)01:55:44

We think we can all agree that it was time to have Meg Stalter on Cultch. And readers? This ep does not disappoint. Fresh off a, get this, bad car accident, Matt is still alive to record the podcast and ultimately that's good because Meg is the funniest and gives us all her takes on the Sex and the City reboot, meeting up with LOVERS in quarantine (and also not), and the Scorsese vs. Marvel ugh drama!!!!!!! Also, the impact of Grease, auditioning for a Six Flags revue with "Teardrops on my Guitar", dinner theater, when Meg was attacked by Lana Del Rey stans, how trolls online are literal children, how to let someone know you're not down to talk shit, and self-improvement during quarantine LOL. Also, should we start using "bunny" as a term of endearment? Will Bowen eat his toenails? And a shout out to Chicago comedy! RARRRRR!!!!!! Listen lol

17 Feb 2021"Edutaintment" (w/ Sam Sanders)01:50:04

Las Culturistas are joined by NPR correspondent, host of It's Been A Minute and active listener extraordinaire Sam Sanders, who quickly finds out that he is "held in the same high esteem as Regina King" by Bowen & Matt, which is saying quite a lot, okay?! The three show Regina respect, get into Whitney Houston's National Anthem at the Super Bowl (Sam has a great episode of IBAM that is sort of *talking to* our Britney episode, so check it out), react to Justin Timberlake's lil' apology, and get innnnnnnto Janet Jackson's music video iconography and talk favorite Janet albums. Also, the current state of daytime TV is discussed, a discussion on how IT'S A BRANDY MOMENT RIGHT NOW, theories on Clive Davis being the devil, and Sam discusses how pop culture and politics are forever intertwined. What. A. Time. What a man. Listen to and follow Sam!

24 Feb 2021"Luke, You Are My Fodder" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:36:12

A sea change in the Las Cultch executive branch! Meghan McCain has resigned from our Board of Directors after blocking us on Twitter and then publicly flopping so absolutely hard that we have to spend our time and energy on it in this episode. That bullshit, WandaVision and how it was Agatha All Along, plus a revisitation of Mean Girls and how Rachel McAdams as Regina George both captured and influenced a generation of social terrorists in our high schools. Are you interested in the style evolution of both hosts over time? No? Well, we also talk about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, so just hit the 15 second skip when we start chatting about how, as teens, we used to rock jeans and flip flops on the regular. Stop when you hear us rescinding our idol worship for Mary M. Cosby. Whatever. I'm getting cheese fries.

03 Mar 2021"The Ol' Bait And Suck" (w/ Rose Dommu)01:58:47

You know how a witch will often cackle? Well, similarly, Las Culturistas and guest Rose Dommu (icon) absolutely DO THAT through this episode of LC wherein witchcraft in media, WandaVision (there are spoilers throughout this ep for the season so far, y'all! So skip 14:14 to 20:15 if you're not caught up!), favorite Aronofsky films and Evan Rachel Wood (who Rose says is "the woman who taught me how to huff") are explored in depth. Also, Rose's love of Buffy and her take on the Joss Whedon of it all, how fan fiction taught us how to write, Dakota Johnson stanhood, Practical Magic, and a look back at ARTPOP. What do we think of Gaga as an Oreo now? Regardless of your answer, you all will be amazing warriors. <3 Follow @rosedommu, who is one of the best guests we've ever had.

10 Mar 2021"SWIFT/SWIFF" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:35:26

The time has come for Matt & Bowen's deep dive on evermore. We know...late!!! But after taking some time to sit with the album, Las Culturistas has takes on the ongoing battle between Taylor vs. Tayla and how it exists in this body of work. The boys discuss each song on the album, and also get into this season of Drag Race UK and how Bimini Bon Boulash is their ONLY winner, the recent Snatch Game on RuPaul's Drag Race, final WandaVision thoughts, and Netflix's I Care A Lot. Also, though this episode was recording literally while Oprah's interview with Meghan and Harry was airing, the royal family is, let's just say, discussed in the episode's closing moments. And you allllreeaaddyy know what that means!!! GRLOO.

17 Mar 2021"Control King" (w/ BD Wong)01:37:11

He IS the blueprint. The "he" in question? BD Wong, babe. After some Grammy and Oscar nom thoughts, Las Culturistas welcome the truly hot king and *decorated* actor to the show to discuss his incredible career and more, darling. Acting in musical theater AND theme park ride waiting lines? Both covered. Jurassic Park AND Jurassic World? Obviously thoroughly discussed. Sitting across from Michelle Obama at a White House state dinner AND insight into Bryce Dallas Howard's leadership capabilities that will inspire you? Yeah, both of those, as absolute WELL! Also, BD talks about how A Chorus Line lit his fire long ago, community building amongst Asian actors, Sondheim's Pacific Overtures, and working with the all Asian cast of Nora From Queens (with...get this...Bowen Yang!). Also, BD's complicated feelings on his Law & Order role, an answer to the question, "was Li Shang attracted to Ping in Mulan?" and THOUGHTS about Donny Osmond singing his character's damn song. LET'S get down to business, indeed! BD is a fucking icon and TBH you're all welcome for this one!

07 Apr 2021"Who's At Village?!" (w/ Kate Berlant)01:33:32

Matt and Bow get raw and real about their physical and mental health (mama, as they say in hospitals, "scalpel!") before launching into an episode truly for the ages with the one, the only, Kate Berlant! Often imitated but NEVER duplicated, this genuine hero and co-host (alongside friend of the show Jacqueline Novak) of LC's Big Money Players sister podcast POOG joins the gals to discuss many cultures: "sending things back in restaurants" culture, "approaching people you admire in public" culture, wellness and "face cream" culture, Cameron Diaz-as-prestige actress culture, Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich culture (oh, yeah, doll, we're going there again), continuity error culture, Oscar-watching culture, awards SPEECH performance culture, and dinner party culture, just to list but a few. This was the great honor and privilege of LC. THEE Kate Berlant!!!!!! Come on, NOW! #PrayForMatt

14 Apr 2021"The Spice of Sisterhood" (w/ Clark Moore)01:41:17

Well, readers, it's our first post-op ep! After a successful surg for Matt, the girls are so happy to welcome the true healing spirit that is Clark Moore, actor and host of the incredible Soul Balm podcast, which is a genuine Las Cultch Pick! Take that, Oprah! We can pick things, too! This episode, dripping wet with water sign energy, features discussions and reviews of Thunder Force, the Netflix College Admissions Scandal documentary, and a full on Godzilla Vs. Kong discussion (with spoilers...skip 25:46-30:19 if you care and also...bless you, child). Also, why Clark had to finally drop reality TV. Discussion Point: in watching Real Housewives, are we complicit in the destruction of these women's lives? All this, and then the real meat and potatoes of the ep: THE SPICE GIRLS. Discussion point #2: was Ginger Spice the leader and is that why it all fell apart after she left? What ARE the best Spice Girls songs? Did you, like Clark, try and recreate the "Naked" tour performance at your SCHOOL with CHILDREN? The words "nude illusion in the round" are used discussing this very scenario. All this, Clark's surprising Jon Ossoff connections, BTS from Love Simon spilled exclusively for the readers, and the Las Cultch on-air debut of Katrina "Damm Bird" Rogers. You, and this episode? VERY "2 Become 1".

21 Apr 2021"The Only Way Is Through" (w/ Molly Gordon & Rachel Sennott)01:52:56

2021 is, of course, primarily the year of the Demi Lovato Froyo Controversy, but that's not all. It is also the year of the incredible film Shiva Baby, which stars the two truly magnifique guests on today's episode: Molly Gordon & Rachel Sennott! The four fools discuss making this lil' indie that could, becoming #sisters during the 16-day shoot, falling in love with a collaborator the way these girls did with writer-director Emma Seligman, the glory that is Dianna Agron and gorgeous Gleek culture, periods of life in which you're going through hell and are reduced to doing poppers on the West Side Highway, seeing R-rated movies as a minor, The Bling Ring and Sofia Coppola's underrated filmography, the ups and downs of peeing in cups for medical reasons, bowel vulnerability, and how there are amazing heroes with their hands up our ass. Watch Shiva Baby in select theaters and on demand right NOW! We can't recommend it ENUF.

05 May 2021"Nomi Malone Muppet" (w/ Shalewa Sharpe)01:42:04

This one's chuck FULL of the good stuff. The "good stuff" in question is, of course, culture and our guest Shalewa Sharpe, host of the new podcast The War Report (new episodes every Thursday!) is a damn expert on it. From the straight camp of Meat Loaf to the pop stylings of Ashlee Simpson and the aesthetic design impact of the recent premium streaming services' logos, there is nothing Shalewa cannot culturally dissect. She and the hosts get into it about Sesame Street and ask the hard questions about the block: Who is the biggest legend on the street? What is the deal with Snuffaluffagus? What is the true nature of the Bert and Ernie relationship? Do we, as a society, tolerate Elmo too much? And what can we learn about impulse control from Cookie Monster? All this, thoughts and reflections on Billie Eilish's new aesthetic, the music videos that had the biggest impact on Shalewa's life sartorially, the culture of clubbin', hideous aughts clothing and why we were dressing in it, The Circle season two, Queen Latifah, and the ancient rivalry between Verizon Fios and Spectrum wireless internet. So, yeah. Did we miss anything? It's Rule of Culture #128: "No!" Listen now, check out The War Report and follow Shalewa @silkyjumbo after you fall in love with her. You understand.

Matt and Bo are honored to welcome one of drag's finest to talk livin la vida Palm Springs, hosting Drag and Drive this year, and Bianca's chosen superpower: being an absolute c*nt. Also, the fall of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the set pics of Nicole Kidman in the Lucille Ball biopic, how it feels to run into Linda Evangelista in a Party City, OG drag performers Charles Pierce and Jim Bailey, the return of BENNIFER, Mare of Easttown and Wawa culture, how fucking good Girls5Eva is, and even more dragging of the nightmare that is Caitlyn Jenner. All that, how Drag Race has changed over the years since Bianca's win in season 6, and memories of the *truly* legendary (no other word) Joan Rivers. Bianca Del Rio on Las Cultch! 19 May 2021"Funky!" (w/ Nikki Glaser)01:43:23

Las Culturistas is proud to say it's the podcast that introduces poppers to our guest on this god damn behemoth of an episode, Nikki Glaser!!! The one and only. Listen, to get into the ins and outs of anal sex and also partake in a full Swiftie convention? We hope that's why you come to Las Cultch! That bullshit, how self-care actually *should* be trendy, the impact of Conan O'Brien on Nikki as a comedian, meeting your heroes and keeping your faculties (or not!) while doing it, and spending money on porn. Also, the following questions: Why the fuck aren't Little Mix big in America? Do we need reboots of Dan Brown culture? Can you be hot and also what is known as a "chuckle fucker"? Did you guys want this episode sweet and slow or funky? Hope it's the latter! Listen to The Nikki Glaser Podcast and get tickets now to see her on her One Night With Nikki Glaser tour! Shit!

Discussed in full, babe. Turn back to avoid spoilers. But spoiler alert for this episode: we fucking loved it. Also, Friends reuniting, the reboot of In Treatment, Legendary's new season, RHONY thus far, Olivia Rodrigo's SOUR and the music it brings back from our youth, how cocaine is not "That Girl" and when to avoid interacting with others (when you are on your molly comedown). 09 Jun 2021"S.O.L. (Shit Outta Luck)" (w/ Celeste Yim)01:41:41

Readers? This episode is gonna be perfect for you. It's a hot, sweaty threesome of an ep with the luminous and hilarious Celeste Yim (SNL), who is a straight up film festival brat, former prodigious torrenter, and low key roast master that Matt and Bow are simply tickled to have on the damn show! On this ep, JUNO as both a script and film, and extended flowers-giving to Diablo Cody, Jennifer Garner and Elliot Page. Also, Jennifer's Body and Whip It! as underrated pieces of cinema, the moments that all the fools on this ep learned that writing was something they could even do, a Top Chef and Padma check-in, occasionally feeling shame about liking, pursuing and doing comedy, wi-fi drama that is actually compelling, and the answer to the question "Where do we stand on 'hamburger phone' being a thing?" All this, anger at reservation culture, how Disneyland is a struggle as of late, and an attack on sunsets by Bowen with one of the hottest takes of all time. 16 Jun 2021"Who Is The Busy?" (w/ Busy Philipps)02:04:02

If you had told Matt and Bowen when they were arguing years ago at the Emmys about "who was the Busy and who was the Michelle" that one day Busy would be on their gay little podcast, they would have eaten their hats! Well yum yum yum I hope the boys have a hankering for their own damn caps because Busy Philipps is here on Las Cultch! Talking about everything! Becoming a goddamn math teacher during the pandemic, raising brilliant gen-z children, how Blake Shelton actually has "the sparkle" in person, the impact of People Magazine culture, what happened when Busy's grandmother came through during a session with a medium, the bangers on the Girls5Eva soundtrack, when entertainment media crosses the line, "freak numbers", Dua Lipa, and the state of produce in New York City. Are you an adult that has had strep throat? What do you think of the name "Mac Rogers"? Are YOU the Busy or the Michelle of your best friendship? Just some questions based on a *thunderously joyful* episode of LC with a true icon: Busy! 23 Jun 2021"Live From An Australian Cave!" (w/ Alan Cumming)01:36:46

Coming to us from a literal underground opal mine in Australia, it's actual icon and genuine world treasure Alan Cumming!!! What?! And! Anyone that thinks you can't pull together a top notch Las Culturistas episode with a guest on the other side of the damn globe?! Eat it! We talk the recent Eurovision victors, what Pride means lately, the need to choose fun over darkness in both life and work, highlights of working on Spice World, Spy Kids, X2, Cabaret and Josie and the Pussycats, how Americans really don't understand camp, directing the amazing new scripted podcast Hot White Heist starring one BOWEN YANG (heard of her?!), being a playable character in the Goldeneye video game on N64, creatively visualizing the upcoming Shmigadoon, going to a nude beach with Ian McKellen, how Los Angeles is sort of like Hershey, Pennsylvania if you think about it, how children's theater changed Alan's life, not wanting to talk about acting or hang out with actors, and the haven that is Club Cumming. Listen to Hot White Heist now!!! You fools!

30 Jun 2021“DEATH! To All of Them!”01:36:51

After this past weekend hit them like a ton of bricks (Bow more so), the jester besties share their thoughts on the chaos of Pride, and how the new tradition may actually be to Be a Bitch to Any Old Acquaintance In Your Immediate Vicinity This Pride. Reflections on the already-historic/histrionic Madonna Boom Boom Room party take up their necessary space as the boys talk about the expectations vs. reality of any situation, but particularly how it hits different when you smoke some wild-ass reefer. After some choice words about quote-tweet culture and on the beginnings of Drag Race All Stars 6, Bowen randomly starts getting emotional about what Conan O’Brien means to him which is probably due to drugs but he still means it. IDTSHs eventually open up discussions about Jamie Lynn Spears’s fecklessness and ice at parties before the boys close on their quick thoughts about “Planet Her” and the new Tyler, The Creator. It’s a wild one, folks. Happy post-Pride!

07 Jul 2021"Speaking of Hailee Steinfeld..." (w/ guest host Joel Kim Booster)01:26:42

Technical difficulties in the Dominican Republic iconically keep Bowen from recording this week, so Matt's other soulmate and fellow Gay Cold Survivor Joel Kim Booster jumps in quite literally last second to co-host a culture catchup that the readers de-SERVE despite the fact that Matt is not one of Joel's favorite friends (because of race). It's a lot of gay nonsense and also deep dives on these topics: RIP to T'Challa Samuels, Erika Girardi's potential guilt, Black Widow, Loki, what we're doing with Gugu Mbatha Raw, Space Jam 2 and Joel's upcoming Fire Island movie based on Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. Also, Matt and Joel call back to their podcast "Matt, Joel and the Search for the Next Elle Woods" to name a Cousin of the Week. IYKYK. See you next week... for a LEGENDARY episode........... aooo!!!

21 Jul 2021"Baroque B*tch* (w/ Cecily Strong)01:40:59

Meet Cecily. She is a 525 lb. father of three and the star and producer of the incredible new musical comedy series Schmigadoon! on Apple TV+. She's also CECILY STRONG, baby!!! Matt and Bowen are joined by one of the best to ever do it who is a recent Emmy nominee for SNL and truly a dream guest for Las Cultch. Cecily shares what it was like to stage and perform the numbers in her new show, work with the fully insane cast (Chenoweth, Dove, hot Aaron Tveit) and sing live, "Les Miz style". Also, RHONY (Cecily does a Ramona and you....must hear it) and RHOBH (Cecily does a Dorit and you......MUST hear it), the impact of Strangers with Candy and true clown Amy Sedaris, Bottle Rocket and Owen Wilson culture, thoughts on All Stars 6 and memories from favorite SNL sketches (AKA the Terrazano's sketch with Ryan Gosling. Seriously, look it up). Do you like shitting in a public restroom? Don't you think Cici's Pizza should stay open as marijuana legalizes nationwide? Big questions. Cecily (obviously a full star on this ep) has a book coming out: This Will All Be Over Soon. Pre-order that!!! And stream Schmigadoon!....you baroque bitch ;-)

Before they get to all that, the two hosts discuss getting sick but not with Covid, Gaga and Tony: One Last Time (we are going!!!!!!!!!!), Ariana Grande on The Voice and as a Disney gay, pop stars as reality show judges, and rumors about the origins of the Taylor and Katy feud. The big event.....begins now! The Las Culturistas Culture Awards....coming soon (we really don't know when)!

04 Aug 2021"Hoopin N' Hollerin" (w/ Sarah Squirm)01:36:35

You'll feel truly ~vaccinated~ after this ep of Las Cultch, in which the boys and the volcanically talented/criminally insane Sarah Squirm discuss literally the funniest things they've ever seen (Reno 911: Miami, some shit from Shrek, news anchor fails, etc.), the power of identifying as annoying, epic fails!!!! (our thoughts are with the grape stomping lady, Scarlet who took a tumble and the two girls who got involved with the shit in a cup), practical special effects, sci-fi make-up and creating body horror, how The Wizard of Oz is the greatest and perhaps only film of all time, the influence of Pee-Wee's Playhouse, the crossroads where RHONY currently finds itself (is this now a Bravo podcast?), flops named Dababy and Matt Damon, how a certain show in the zeitgeist (sorry!) maybe did not necessarily nail a depiction of ass-eating and Edward Scissorhands. Also, is Donald Trump's hair.... kinda cool?! Something to think about. You truly must watch The Sarah Vaccine on means.tv and pay the fuck ATTENTION to everything Sarah does ever because she will make your HEALTH BETTA. Alright, 'til next week! Keep campaigning!

11 Aug 2021"Haus of Cultch: More Categories"01:32:05

Matt and Bowen, at their lowest, fat, nasty and broke, careers in shambles, come on this bitch mad as hell in an apartment with no A/C to complete what they set out to do: finally reveal all the categories for the Las Culturistas Culture Awards (#LCCA). They also dicuss Natalie Wynn's Contrapoints and apollonion (Natalie/Squidward/Rosario Dawson) vs. dionysian (Mila/Spongebob/Daphne Rubin Vega) personality types, how YouTube landing pages reveal what's in your soul and drag you and your interests to absolute hell, Disney's Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser hotel (is immersion in theme parks going *too far*?), THEE Suicide Squad, how Crystal Kung Minkoff's husband Rob created iconic gay animated cultch, the silver and gold binary, Meghan's last days on The View and what it really means to name your daughter Liberty, the historic moment that was attending Gaga and Tony: One Last Time at Radio City Music Hall, reactions to the already iconic Haus of Gucci trailer, and revelations about Matt and Bowen and their nasty, broke, career in shambles lives. Publicists? Get to work. The #LCCA could happen anytime... and the nominees will be announced... soon...

25 Aug 2021"thankyousomuchmama" (w/ Jan Sport)01:50:01

Not this. But actually? AbsoLUTELY this! Bow & Matt are joined by the one true legend Jan Sport to discuss recent hurricane drama, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 6, seeing yourself edited into a reality TV character, Fire Island, receiving adulation from your elders, and what we miss and don't miss about Broadway. Also! After Jan won this year's Rusical as Gaga...the girls have a full on Gaga moment. They talk the many *faces* and *eras* of Gaga. Namely, Jan's formative culture: the "Paparazzi" performance from the 2009 VMAs. Also!! How "Venus" did not get the credit. Also!!! How the year 2010 was the era when the pop girls were really and truly girling. All this, Gaga and Beyonce's impacts on each other, what we expect from House of Gucci and the filmography of Ridley Scott (should we trust him with the doll?), a moment of Vonzell Solomon appreciation, what it felt like to see Laganja Estranja leap out onto the main stage as the lipsync assassin against the incredible Trinity K. Bonet and this question: Shouldn't there be a MIss Congeniality Broadway musical? If there's a Broadway musical of everything else? This episode? Canon. Jan? Sport. Las? Cultch. You're? Welcome!

01 Sep 2021"This Meeting Is Being Recorded" (w/ Patti Harrison)02:00:13

With her beautiful curves and perfect height, Patti Harrison is undoubtedly one of the favorite guests of Las Culturistas. Join Bowen, Matt and Patti for a close read of the "Rumors" Lindsay Lohan lyrics, Patti's impression of the one iconic line in The Kids Are Alright, an exploration what actually happens in the shocking film Life Itself, thoughts on when it's best to Divest from The Conversation, the interesting and ultimately devastating story of what happened at The Ellen Show after Patti's big interview with her, what it would be like if the Blue Collar Comics made niche queer references, tropical vacations, what Harry Potter should try to do with her polyjuice potion, the film Together, Together and what it's actually about, the Spencer trailer with Kristen Stewart, cathartic shit talk vs. needless dragging, sucking dick, eating ass and licking balls. 06 Oct 2021"GET THE GORE OFF THE TV, I'M NOT WATCHING *THAT*!" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:16:02

This episode, which largely tackles fear from both a conceptual and emotional standpoint, has been called one of the "smartest episodes of all time" by both Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. After creating art almost immediately (readers: please send us your pictures!), our hosts discuss The Squid Game and how it excited Bowen and triggered Matt, the insane return of The Morning Show, cartoonish violence vs. grounded violence in film and television, haunted house culture, what the girls are smoking lately and anticipation about what Kyle Richards "is giving" in the upcoming Halloween Kills. Also, ADELE IS COMING, a deep-dive on "what Hoku is doing right now" (there are many red flags), KIM K IS COMING, and recaps of this week's Potomac and Salt Lake City. Have you been enjoying the simple pleasures of autumn? Should it be called "30"? Do you think Bowen's Crystal Kung Minkoff impression will earn him an Emmy next year? Watch this space. And Happy Ethical Streaming, everyone!

13 Oct 2021"Queendom" (w/ Vanessa Bayer)01:29:44

The essence of Queendom joins Las Cultch today and her name is Vanessa Bayer, alright?! Sure, there are others whom possess Queendom, such as Kim K. and Adele, but neither of them canonically f*cked both Ryan Gosling and Kristen Stewart in SNL sketches. The only real star in the world joins Matt and Bowen to talk SNL shop (read: share what kind of bagels she ordered on Sundays after a show), discuss how exactly her mouth works, and confess to listening to "Suddenly I See" by KT Tunstall as a pump-up song before auditions. All this, feet, Vanessa's new show I Love This For You coming to Showtime next year, the iconic "What A Feeling" sequence from the film Flashdance, sibling culture, and a journey to find a good Meredith Marks impression. More intimacy now! The podcast has received critical acclaim. This ep? Is why.

20 Oct 2021"It's Family Episode" (w/ Greta Titelman)01:47:50

The women who host this podcast welcome the ultimate human being Greta Titelman BACK to the show ahead of her Las Cultch and Big Money Players produced (!!!) character pod Stepmother: The Husband Hunt coming in early 2022. But, listen, if you want a podcast from Greta NOW? You're in luck! She's just debuted Senior Superlatives (presented by Headgum), which investigates the high school lives of Greta and her guests. Matt, Bow and Greta do a lil' bit of that here, as well as talk photoshop SHOP, review a recent trip to Halloween Horror Nights, and discuss being detail-oriented in work vs. life. All this, co-dependency culture, saying no, eavesdropping, candle maintenance, and engaging with people in your life who disagree with you over important subjects. ALSO: a tribute to chopsticks, Daniel Craig and "tributes" themselves ;-) lol teehee! Ya gotta listen to Senior Superlatives because... it's Greta! And no one's better.

The sisters get into conversation with the Las Culturistas Culture Award nominee for Best Asker and try a hand at being askers themselves, specifically about Katie’s new book “Going There” (available now) and swamp ass. Stay tuned for three wide-ranging IDTSHs, including Ms. Couric’s diatribe against a certain filler word. Truths are examined, conflicts resume, and culture is made in this hour and thirty minutes in change. Be interesting by being interested, jester flops.

03 Nov 2021“This Episode Features DOUG!” (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:19:14

After a successful Halloween, costume-wise, and a retreat to Ojai to observe gorgeous purple mountain majesty, Matt & Bowen convene for a sisters-only episode, and you better know that we’re including Hot Engineer Doug when we say THAT! More gems than usual from that man (who used to be a THOT! Wow! But also duh!), and much more, including: memories from classic family vacations, “Easy On Me” thoughts and Adele’s 30 tracklist, The Beatles and their impact, a re-examination of the film Jennifer’s Body after a recent viewing of the film, thoughts on this season of Survivor and Jeff Probst’s symposium on the phrase “come on in, guys”, and Matt and Bowen verbally cum about boy-pop of the aughts before celebrating television’s best music supervisors. Also, a plot update on The Morning Show, well wishes to Dorit and thoughts on the RHOP finale. Plus... Doug does an I Don't Think So Honey!!!! He is getting laaaaaaaaaid tonight! Xoxoxo bye!

Also his twitter is famously known (just ask Bowen!) And on top of all this he hosts the podcast I Said No Gifts! Yes, it's true! The guest is Bridger Winegar! Does he possibly do TWO IDTSH's? 17 Nov 2021"Bravx, Taylora!" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:44:44

Listening to this episode of this podcast is RED. Okay?! Because, get this... Taylor/Tayla has become TAYLORA with the re-release of her iconic album Red and Las Cultch is TALKING ABOUT IT in gorgeously excruciating detail. Also, no big deal but Bowen kinda sorta hung out with Tay a little bit and you will not believe her reaction to the Taylor/Tayla binary when it was explained to her. Matt & Bowen deep-dive on this last glorious ~scarlet week~ and talk "All Too Well (10 Minute Version"), the short film, favorites from the re-release and what this album means to Swifties. Also, Blake Lively as director, Adele's Oprah special, Ego Nwodim's star turn on Love Life season two, new Pokémon on the way, and the fact that Britney is now FREE. And you know we do a deep dive on the latest installment of the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion and wade into the iconic true crime waters of the last Real Housewives of Salt Lake City episode. All this, a The Morning Show plot update, karaoke culture, "having fun" culture, what it feels like to go on a great fucking date, and a live, in real time confirmation of an upcoming Las Cultch guest that will leave readers breathless. Ba-BY... you do not want to miss this one. ~You-ou-ou'lll.... liiiiiiike it.~

24 Nov 2021"Address Her Correctly!" (w/ Dr. Wendy Osefo)01:15:14

An ode to shooting your shot in the DMs, this episode is one for the ages. Because Las Cultch welcomes the one, the only, the zen... Dr. Wendy Osefo! Matt, Bow and Wendy discuss how she got involved with the Real Housewives of Potomac, the experience of pursuing your dreams and negotiating those dreams with the expectations of immigrant parents, Wendy's Nigerian upbringing, and seeing a reality TV depiction of yourself out there for people to judge. Also, Clueless and the icon that is Dionne, Lil Kim and Britney Spears, and putting family first. All that, what it was like to get absolutely dragged by Nicki Minaj, and an I Don't Think So Honey from Dr. Wendy that Matt and Bow agree is one of the finest in recent memory. Pre-order Wendy's book Tears of My Mother: The Legacy of My Nigerian Upbringing now, get yourself some Onyi Home Essentials and tune into the final part of The Real Housewives of Potomac reunion when it airs this Sunday! 01 Dec 2021"Hundred. Period!" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:52:37

The culture catch-up to end all culture catch-ups, this episode has Matt Rogers & Bowen Yang dropping a dramatic announcement about the long-delayed LCCA's, reviewing their Thanksgivings and previewing their New Years, and demanding the readers to send in photos of their fabulous hikes! And then: culture. House of Gucci. Prosthetics culture. Adele's 30. Rebecca Hall's Passing. Nicki on the Potomac reunion. The legendary Stephen Sondheim. West Side Story buzz (RACHEL ZEGLER COME ON THE POD). The flop Grammy Nominations drama. Channeling whilst creating art. Selling Sunset. Survivor. A recap of The Morning Show finale and a celebration of the third graders. And the question: should Bowen be Boq in Wicked? This specnomenal episode pulled all the way up in the Sri Lanka. Also, West Side Story (2021), praise for Steven Spielberg, Rachel Zegler (COME ON THE POD) and Ariana deBose, teachers we feel hated us and the lessons we learned from them, Vanessa Hudgens appreciation, Succession, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and "loyalty" as a personal value, reality TV casting then and now, and searing takedowns of Nyquil and room service.

15 Dec 2021"Snarky F*ggots" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:16:24

And Just Like That... it's the last new episode of Las Culturistas in the year of our good lord 2021. The iconic two (Matt & Bowen) take this time to lay down the law on spoiler culture once and for all, express their thoughts on cum, and really do a deep dive on the new revival of S*x and the C*ty, AND JUST LIKE THAT! TL;DR: we have some concerns and questions (Is Miranda now a queer alcoholic? How annoying is too annoying when it comes to Charlotte? What's the deal with how they're using the new POC characters? Will Samantha return? Why is Steve deaf? Are the third graders from The Morning Show now on this project?) but we will watch every episode, are thankful for it's return and absolutely love everyone involved. All this, more West Side Story thoughts (Tony Kushner is GOOD), Succession finale thoughts (this television show is IMPORTANT) and an examination and performance of Nicole Kidman's iconic AMC Theaters opening presentation (Nicole is a SAVANT). Also, RHOLSC thoughts, Survivor finale predictions, and a talk about how hands are weird. Fear Peloton! Happy New Year! We love you! Xo!

22 Dec 2021On The Fifth Day of Culture... July 2nd, 2020: Ghislaine Maxwell, You're Under Arrest! (RE-RELEASE)00:27:03

This is a re-release of a CLASSIC Las Culturistas episode:

Las Culturistas becomes a true crime podcast for one episode only as Matt and Bowen finally truly take down the notorious and stupid-yet-British criminal who should rot in Hell named Ghislaine Maxwell on the 5th episode of the 12 Days of Culture series. Finally, a pair of podcasters do a close read on the name "Ghislaine". Every letter is scrutinized as the two girls who host as Cultch peel back the many layers that is this bad and ultimately evil first name. Along the way, Matt and Bow imagine what Vanna White's inner monologue must be like, and the two create a play as a result. Also, do aliens exist? If you're doing anything other than listening to this podcast episode today? "Can it, Missy." Alright, see ya tomorrow!

29 Dec 2021On The First Day of Culture... August 18th, 1953: The First McDonald's Opens Its Doors (RE-RELEASE)00:30:21

This is a re-release of a CLASSIC Las Culturistas episode:

05 Jan 2022On The Seventh Day of Culture... June 20th, 1975: JAWS Eats The Girls (RE-RELEASE)00:29:06

This is a re-release of a CLASSIC Las Culturistas episode:

12 Jan 2022"She Suffered... And She Is Still That Girl" (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:29:21

Bowen Yang (platinum blonde, super-immune, Erika, corn silk-era) and Matt Rogers (still brunette, super-immune, Rinna, still charizard-era) gather together after a fabulous trip to Mexico City to record a "culture catchup" episode of their podcast Las Culturistas (critically acclaimed). And wow, has culture occurred. The name Che Diaz ring a bell? "Hey, it's Che Diaz!" How about now? Also, Mary M. Cosby, exiting the world stage? Major news, indeed. The Elmo-Zoe feud down on Sesame Street? You could say the hosts are bravely taking a side. And oh, the power of cinema. Matt and Bow review The Power of the Dog, Being The Ricardos, The Lost Daughter, Don't Look Up, Free Guy and Licorice Pizza. All this, praise for the final season of Search Party, a celebration of the renewal of The Morning Show for a third season (congrats third graders, you're the real heroes, mamas), thoughts on new Drag Race, Project Runway and Euphoria, and a whole lot of bullshit in between. Las Cultch? Is back. She suffered... and she is still that girl.

19 Jan 2022"Agatha Christie White Mystery" (w/ Fran Tirado)01:54:05

This week Las Culturistas invites a queer latinx stoner podcaster and it's NOT even Che Diaz!!! It's the much less annoying Fran Tirado! And would you believe that Che takes up a lot of discussion space in this episode of all episodes? The gals discuss just WHAT Che is representing, And Just Like That as we barrell towards the finale, white creators confronting whiteness in their work, Spider Man: No Way Home and fan service culture, how Peacock is actually IT, Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, casting queer roles with straight actors and the backlash that occurs when it happens, Drag Race and the Maddy Morphosis of it all, Greek mythology, youth group, how D.A.R.E. made us want to do drugs more, and that thing that happens when you masturbate too much and your dick goes "poof!" like a baby dragon who can't yet breathe fire. Would you introduce yourself to your favorite OnlyFans creator if you saw them at the mall? Can you handle if it Jujubee loses another season of Drag Race? Should Raya end once and for all? Much to discuss! Listen to this AND Fran's new podcast Like A Virgin with Las Cultch favorite Rose Dommu!

The host of the truly world famous podcasts Smartless (out Mondays) and Hypochondriactor (out Wednesdays) joins Matt & Bowen to discuss Will & Grace and Q-Force, share memories of performing in Promises, Promises on Broadway, and confront the fact that the Sean Hayes Cher impression is now THEE culturally accepted Cher impression. Also, Erasure, George Michael and queer representation in all forms of media, iconic medical issues and the dragging of RHOSLC's Jennie Nguyen, one word names AND three word names. JUST CULTCH! 02 Feb 2022“Sense Memory/Stanislavsky/Circle In The Square” (w/ Matt & Bowen)01:10:46

Matt and Bowen convene to discuss the concept of a Night of a Thousand J. Lo’s, deep dive on Lady Gaga’s actor-forward Oscar campaign, perform Lisa Barlow’s hit mic monologue and debut Provincetown’s new theme song. Also, Viva Las Culturistas and ALSO Viva Las Vegas, as Matt prepares to see Katy Perry in the City of Sin for his birthday and Bowen reveals that not only that he has come around on “Daisies” but also exchanged pleasantries with Mrs. Orlando Bloom herself. All this, and the following questions: do we actually want Carrie and Steve to fuck? Would you do Dancing with the Stars? What would you do if you heard your best friend saying that hated you because you’re a “garbage whore”? Disclaimer: “The Woman In The Window...” with Kristen Bell is spoiled in this episode so skip ahead a few minutes from where that discussion begins.

09 Feb 2022"X, Y & US" (w/ Danny Pellegrino)01:32:36

Truly gay podcasts collide in this episode as Matt & Bowen are joined by Danny Pellegrino! The host of Everything Iconic and author of How Do I Unremember This? Unfortunately True Stories (out March 8th) has thoughts on the whole season we just experienced of And Just Like That..., as do our hosts. Guess what? RAVE REVIEWS. The third graders keep winning. Also? Housewives. Rosie. Tyra, Sunny, Whoopi Joy, everyone else that's ever hosted The View, Bethenny, and much more. Danny felt like a third co-host! Get the book. Listen to the pod. Rinse, repeat! So what?! Who Cares?!

16 Feb 2022"Birds of a Weather" (w/ Louis Virtel)01:34:30

To celebrate the fact that Las Culturistas is now being cited in academic work, the owner of popular culture Louis Virtel (Keep It! podcast, Jimmy Kimmel Live) finally joins our women to rant at the table. Readers! This is the one you've been waiting for. A full-on Oscars download as the nominations are reviewed... dissected, even! Gaga's snub?! Did we cause it? Something to think about. Also, Wheel of Fortune and game show culture, the experience of actually competing on televised game shows, an analysis of the stigma around Laura Dern stanhood, Kirsten's Oscar moment at long last and a long overdue discussion of the legendary Gilda Radner. Warning! This episode may contain some spoilers for the Oscar movies we discuss. Keep your ears open for spoiler warnings. Louis is truly a MIND and Las Cultch was lucky to have the bitch. Don't be a gatorade girl xo
