Mars will be retrograde from December 6 to February 23. Mars will start its retrograde period in Leo and then move back into Cancer in early January.   This will give the next few months a sense of stalled progress or sluggish movement. In general, Mars retrograde is a great time to review how you express your needs and wants and how you assert yourself. Cards will also oppose Pluto to add some power dynamics to the mix.

This solar, or New Moon Eclipse in Libra is about endings. The influence of the South Node on this eclipse will highlight themes of releasing and purging. This is a good time to end troubling patterns and to move them out of your life. You might find there is a greater ease for you in topics dealing with spirituality, altruism and depth. 

Eclipses are also a time where things can get unstable. Give yourself some space to sit with your uncertainty during this time. ‘Less is more’ is good advice to follow.

Mars cazimi the Sun acts to amplify Mars themes as Mars undergoes a process of rebirth, release and purification.  This is a good time to learn about agency, autonomy and independence. It is also a good time to change your actions and direct them towards supporting new routines, habits and outcomes.

Mercury is the sign of business, technology and communication. These Mercury topics might show themselves a little differently during a retrograde period. Not necessarily better or worse; just differently.

Venus conjunct Saturn often brings a sense of work first, pleasure after.  This is a time where keeping our promises and commitments is important. Venus conjunct Saturn removes rose-coloured glasses that might be tinted your perspective, especially in close partnerships and relationships.  This pattern is just beginning and will be revisited in April of this year as Venus again moves into a conjunction with Saturn.

Mars in Taurus is like a warrior being held back from battle, which allows the heat to cool. Mars is in detriment in Taurus, which might highlight periods of inconsistent motivation but it also promotes an orientation towards peace, unity and common ground.

Venus is currently retrograde and will remain that way until April 12. Mercury also stationed retrograde on March 15. 

Since Venus is retrograde less than any other planet, these periods are more poignant and potent. During this ‘backwards’ movement, you can expect a re-evaluation of your pleasures and desires and tweaks to your existing relationships. Venus moves from Aries to Pisces in late March so expect a shift in the affected Venus areas of your chart, with Venus in Aries likely the more challenging of the two placements.

Mercury is retrograde from March 15 to April 7. Mercury will also move from Aries to Pisces during its retrograde cycle. When Mercury is retrograde, it is a great time for catching up on things. Mercury is more at home in Pisces so expect a little more ease during this part of its retrograde movement.
