23 Jul 2013The PodKast that Wasn't at SDCC00:43:30

Curious things took place at the K Towers virtual studio this week, resulting in an hour long podKast that somehow went unrecorded! Being the passionate Doctor Who fans that we are, of course, we pushed on, recording an approximation of the original that attempts to be as honest and genuine as possible.

Sadly, one key result of this is the minimal presence of Brian Terranova, who could only hang around as long as the intro. However, we think you'll agree that his intro is perhaps one of our best yet, and is one that sets up the rest of the show perfectly. This week, we cover the San Diego Comic Con, namely the trailers for An Adventure in Space and Time and the Doctor Who 50th anniversary - and the crucial matter of Karen Gillan's newly-shorn locks.

02 Aug 2013PodKasting the Eighth Doctor00:43:51

This week we discuss the Eighth Doctor’s post-TV Movie life on audio, in books and in the Doctor Who Magazine comic strip (one of the strips creative high points).

While we also address the question of whether McGann is involved in some way in the 50th anniversary (although he says not), we’re chatting really about the creativity of the books and audios during this era, where strong stories were created and somehow injected the supposedly dead TV show with enough off-screen life to successfully return in 2005.

05 Aug 2013PodKasting the Peter Capaldi Twelfth Doctor Who Reveal!00:58:04

This week's podKast was a live event, streamed through Google Hangouts and YouTube to offer our commentary and live reaction to the announcement of Peter Capaldi as the new star of Doctor Who. You can listen to it here...

14 Aug 2013The Peter Capaldi ReaktionKast00:57:05

...in which we get excited about the prospect of Doctor Who starring Peter Capaldi and look at some big names who apparently didn't get picked over the years...

22 Aug 2013TARDIS building PLUS: Spearhead from Space gets Blu-ray release00:52:09
Usually on the podKast (with a "K"), we talk about stuff then squeeze the recommendations in at the end.

This week, we're flipping it around, talking about a little bit of stuff at the start (transforming TARDISes, time lapse videos of police box builds, etc.) and filling the rest of the episode up with a massive recommendation - the new Spearhead from Space Special Edition on Blu-ray!

Interestingly, James McLean hasn't yet seen the new upgraded high definition version, which means that he can be your way in, asking the questions of Christian and Brian as they discuss the upgrade, the extras and the remarkable impact the serial had on Doctor Who back in 1970.

04 Sep 2013PodKast with a Bonfire01:07:28

Among other things, this week we discuss new Doctor Who Peter Capaldi's revelatory confession that he destroyed all of his youthful fandom in a bonfire!

11 Sep 2013A Masterful PodKast!00:56:34

On this week's Kasterborous podKast (with a "K") we're discussing the classic era versions of the Master, namely Roger Delgado and Anthony Ainley - plus a little bit of Peter Pratt, Geoffrey Beevers and Eric Roberts!

19 Sep 2013Doctor Who Animated Missing Episodes Discussed!01:09:06

This week's podKast, "PodKast with some Animated Recons" discusses the BBC's use of animation to reconstruct missing episodes.

Over the past few years, BBC Worldwide have released several Doctor Who DVDs from the classic era with animated episodes to replace those lost to time. These have been well received on the whole, but we thought we'd mull over some of the differences in approach from the animators, in amongst discussing some of the recent 50th anniversary and Christmas special news.

25 Sep 2013Awesome Doctor Who Fan-made Opening Titles01:07:49

What might the Doctor Who opening titles for the Peter Capaldi look like? We discuss a superb fan-produced effort this week, as well as some other recent news.

02 Oct 2013PodKast: Should Peter Capaldi's Prior Doctor Who Roles Be Explained?01:07:56

This week's podKast covers a trio of topical Doctor Who news items AND gives you the chance to win a copy of Doctor Who: The Vault from BBC Books!

James McLean, Christian Cawley and Brian Terranova are on hand to offer their thoughts and discuss the recent #SaveTheDay teaser, the sad tone to the rediscovered William Hartnell interview and Steven Moffat's suggestion that Fires of Pompeii's Caecilius and Torchwood: Children of Earth's John Frobisher resemblance to the Twelfth Doctor (for obvious reasons) will be written into the show.

We'll leave you to listen to the show rather than challenge you to guess as to what we thought about these topics (although the word Atlantis is uttered with derision...) but note that the competition is towards the end. We need you email your answer christian@kasterborous.com.

09 Oct 2013PodKast Live Discusses Doctor Who Classic "The Three Doctors"01:19:08

This week's podKast was a live event on Google Hangouts. If you missed it or can't catch up on YouTube, have no fear, the standard friendly audio-only version is here for you to enjoy! Listen as Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova recall 1973's The Three Doctors.

16 Oct 2013Doctor Who Missing Episodes Interviews00:30:00

This week's podKast brings a selection of interviews from the recent #doctorwho missing episodes event in London. Thanks to Gareth Kavanagh you can expect to hear from Frazer Hines and Deborah Watling - who both appeared in the recovered episodes of The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear - and writer Mark Gatiss, who tells us something about an upcoming #Sherlock episode...

24 Oct 2013PodKast Discusses Doctor Who’s Awesome 50th Anniversary Trailer00:47:43

This week the podKast team cast their eyes over the ridiculously brilliant #DoctorWho 50th anniversary trailer that aired last Saturday evening.

Musing over the quality of the body doubles, voice over work, the intricacies of the various props that were included and the prospect of a seeing a 3D version.

31 Oct 2013More Doctor Who Missing Episodes? The PodKast Discusses...00:47:02

The possibility of yet more #DoctorWho missing episodes being unveiled has tickled the podKast team and so this week Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss the current rumours concerning the BFI and Marco Polo, as well as spending a few moments to reflect upon the amazing story behind Philip Morris.

06 Nov 2013PodKast with a Muted Doctor Who 40th Anniversary00:53:17

In our continuing but loosely-defined run up to the #DoctorWho 50th anniversary, we cast our minds back 10 years in this week's podKast to the 40th anniversary. Yes, there was a 40th anniversary of our favourite show, but you'd be hard-pressed to recall anything particularly significant about it.

Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova give it a go, however, mentioning Big Finish audio Zagreus, Scream of the Shalka and even 35th anniversary novel The Infinity Doctors by Lance Parkin.

12 Nov 2013Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Events Galore!01:13:19

This week's Kasterborous podKast (with a "K") covers a lot of ground, so gird your loins dear listener and prepare yourself for a journey through time, space and vague grasps of copyright law!

We kick off this week's show with a chat about the wonderful new trailers for The Day of the Doctor before focusing our sharp legal brains at Stef Coburn's claim that his father Anthony Coburn - writer of the first #DoctorWho story - invented the TARDIS and could the BBC kindly pay up.

As unlikely as that might sound, we urge you not to get too upset about his attitude - after all, Brian Terranova will be regaling you with tales of chats with Simon Fisher-Becker, Ian McNeice and Sylvester McCoy at last week's L.I.Who event!

14 Nov 2013The Night of the Doctor ReaktionKast00:19:58

Following the return of Paul McGann to #DoctorWho in the 50th anniversary prologue minisode The Night of the Doctor, Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss the excitement and impact of the 7 minute short

18 Nov 2013PodKast Previews Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Episode & Docudrama00:53:27

What else could we discuss this week other than The Day of the Doctor, An Adventure in Space and Time and some of the other BBC TV and radio programming celebrating 50 years of #DoctorWho ?!

25 Nov 2013PodKast Says Happy Birthday, Doctor Who!01:02:03

James McLean, Brian Terranova and Kasterborous editor Christian Cawley discuss #DoctorWho's 50th anniversary feature-length episode The Day of the Doctor and also spend a few moments on An Adventure in Space and Time and The Five(ish) Doctors – Reboot. We also cover various continuity questions raised by the Doctor’s successful saving of Gallifrey.

(This week's podKast was recorded in front of a live Google Hangouts audience.)

06 Dec 2013PodKast with a Kerb Krawl01:10:02

This week we opted to record live on Thursday evening instead, using Google Hangouts. Although a podKast was "recorded" on Monday, it wasn't actually recorded, something that James and Brian were naturally somewhat unhappy about. So this second attempt was a way for them to try and recall the best bits with Christian also offering his own thoughts and experiences of the week of #DoctorWho.

Along with various post-50th anniversary details, you'll also hear how mild-mannered Kasterborous editor Christian Cawley was mistaken for someone "looking for a good time" outside the BBC Tees building in Middlesbrough...

13 Dec 2013PodKast with a Sonic Legacy and No Series 8 Split!01:11:31

This week’s podKast (with a “K”) gets in an early celebratory mood for Christmas with a selection of recommendations, a chat about Brian Terranova’s latest Sonic Screwdriver prop and a look at new iPhone/Android game #DoctorWho: Legacy, in a section that also chats with the game’s developers.

19 Dec 2013PodKast Previews Matt Smith's Final Episode The Time of the Doctor01:02:25

This week, we set our sights on Christmas Day and Matt Smith's sad departure from #DoctorWho. It is, indeed, The Time of the Doctor, and there is much to discuss...

Also, look out for news of Brian Terranova's new Doctor Who/Torchwood fan film series as well as the latest on our Daleks' Master Plan graphic novel and our usual recommendations. We also take a look back at 2013 and our favourite Doctor Who moments from the last 12 months (with one stipulation: no 50th anniversary stuff).

30 Dec 2013The PodKast Reviews The Time of the Doctor01:01:51

Well, it had to be done - the Kasterborous podKast team got together at the weekend to discuss The Time of the Doctor and offer their thoughts on whether Matt Smith's #DoctorWho finale was a hit or a miss.

Our decision? Well, it's not quite Time and the Rani, but it would seem that we weren't as happy with it as we might have hoped to be...

07 Jan 2014PodKast Special: Andrew Smith and Bernard Padden Recall Full Circle01:03:54

You're in for a treat this week as #DoctorWho scriptwriter Andrew Smith recalls 1980's Full Circle in a special interview recorded at The Lass O'Gowrie in March 2013.

Also featuring Tylos actor Bernard Padden in his first convention appearance, the interview was recorded as part of a Writercon event at the now-defunct public house and cultural epicentre.

Let this week's podKast stand as both testament and tribute to The Lass, and all who sailed in her.

While you're at it, listen out for stories about production on Full Circle, including a never-before told story about Lalla Ward...

15 Jan 2014When the Master was in my Gran's pouffe00:00:48

This isn't a podKast, but a snippet from BBC Tees' The TARDIS in Teesside in which I recall a very vivid #doctorwho dream from the mid-1980s...

15 Jan 2014Capaldi's Costume, Hurt Rewrites & Missing Doctor Who Episodes!01:09:24

Wow, so much to get through in this week's podKast, from Peter Capaldi's first #DoctorWho photoshoot to missing episodes - stopping off at the fascinating topic of "was John Hurt cast to replace Christopher Eccleston or not?" on the way.

The podKast team of Christian Cawley, Brian Terranova and James McLean have an interesting hour of discussion for you, and just because we love you, dear listener, we've left in a segment in which Christian and James BOTH dry up, with hilarious consequences!

We also have a nice collection of recommendations for you, from Wiffle Lever to Full by Bob Fischer to The Beginning from Big Finish.

23 Jan 2014Steven Moffat's "plot holes" & the value of missing Doctor Who episodes01:09:55
is week's podKast features Christian Cawley and James McLean discussing Doctor Who plot holes and missing episodes, specifically how their value has changed from being worth less than video tape in the 1960s to making millions on iTunes in 2013.

We're covering a lot of topics this time around, with topics as diverse as Tom Baker's birthday and Paddington Bear to the amazing reaction to the previous podKast!

28 Jan 2014Peter Capaldi's Doctor Who Outfit Discussed00:10:31

In this brief reaktionKast (with a K), Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss new #doctorwho star Peter Capaldi's striking new Time Lord look, as revealed by the BBC this week.

30 Jan 2014PodKast: Hey, Where's Episode 3 Of Doctor Who: The Web Of Fear, BBC?01:19:55

Join Christian Cawley, Brian Terranova and James McLean as they disassemble #DoctorWho and put it back together again - much like the TARDIS in the Mind Robber, or Frontios if you prefer.

This week, we mull the lack of a real part 3 in rediscovered serial The Web of Fear, the evolution of the Cybermen and how this was influenced by design teams before it became a running theme in the show, and our usual recommendations.

06 Feb 2014Does Doctor Who Need A Female Lead? The PodKast Decides01:09:28

We're in contentious territory this week as #DoctorWho fans Christian Cawley, Brian Terranova and James McLean try to run the rule over the ongoing "should there be a female Doctor" debate.

Yes. We know.

Additionally, there is talk of steampunk in Doctor Who and how it pre-dates the TV Movie, and also a chat about the recent alleged episode synopses for Series 8.

As always, we've got some recommendations for you too.

16 Feb 2014PodKast: Doctor Who's Female Scriptwriters & Scottish Independence00:39:07

In this week’s huskier-than-usual podKast (Christian’s recovering chest infection sounding a little Barry Whitesque, quite appropriate for a podKast recorded on St. Valentine’s Day), we discuss the recent speculation concerning Doctor Who‘s supposed return in July, the apparent lack of female scriptwriters in the show since 2005, whether our favourite Time Lord has really been a sexual creature since day one, a case pressed recently by Steven Moffat, and whether the BBC will close the doors on the TARDIS for good should its flagship show suddenly end up being run by illegal aliens following the referendum on Scottish independence (yes, we really went there).

19 Feb 2014PodKast Talks American Doctor Who, Christopher Barry (RIP) and Missing Episodes01:04:22

In this week's podKast with a "K" we welcome Doctor Who fanzine producer Gareth Kavanagh, editor of Vworp Vworp! as a guest for the full show!

Christian Cawley and James McLean are in the hotseat too, with a nice selection of topics under discussion. To kick it off, we mull over the recent Buzzfeed.com list based around the idea of how Doctor Who might have been different had it been created in the USA rather than in Television Centre.

Following this, we spend a few moments appreciating the contributions that the late Christopher Barry made to Doctor Who between 1963 (The Daleks) and 1979 (The Creature from the Pit). Given that we have unofficial fourth podKaster Gareth Kavanagh on hand as well, there's also a bit of missing episodes chatter in there for you lucky people as well, not to mention some updates on the progress of Vworp Vworp! issue 3...

Rounding off the show (yet taking up a greater chunk of the running time than either of the other topics) are our recommmendations, with 1977 serial Underworld getting the lion's share of the discussion.

27 Feb 2014Could Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi Quit In 2014? The PodKast Decides!00:47:25

In this week's podKast (with a "K") Christian Cawley and James McLean guide you through the latest big stories in the Doctor Who world. We discuss Peter Capaldi's jumper - costume or warmth aid? - and also ask whether or not the rumours concerning his planned single year in the role are anything more than ill-advised conjecture. As we recorded the podKast, Samuel Anderson's casting as Danny Pink was announced, so listen out for a bit of discussion on that.

We also turn our attention to the increasing noise concerning the omnirumour, specifically whether or not missing serial Marco Polo has been found, and Matt Smith recently recorded an awesome video for a poorly child.

What a guy!

Oh, and we also try to work out what is wrong with The Horns of Nimon. Someone has to.

06 Mar 2014The PodKast Talks Lego Doctor Who and Even More Horns Of Nimon!01:15:05

This week we find ourselves - for the third week running - discussing the many pitfalls of watching Doctor Who "classic" The Horns of Nimon...

If you're not keen on the Nimon, worry not. We've got plenty else to talk about, from Matt Smith's surprise Australian convention withdrawal to Titan's problem distributing new Doctor Who comic, Peter Capaldi in an old Midsomer Murders and the likelihood of a series of Lego Doctor Who toys.

As ever, there are our recommendations, which include Dark Eyes 2 and Remembrance of the Daleks.

11 Mar 2014Returning Master Rumours & Doctor Who Classic DVD Sales Record00:50:55

This week, we discuss the various rumours concerning the speculated return of the Master in Doctor Who Series 8. Is it Charles Dance? Is it Richard Armitage? Perhaps the new Master will be Steve John Shepherd? We don't know, but we're certainly interested and we'd love to hear your thoughts on this particularly interesting topic.

Also, we spend a chunk of time discussing Mark Gatiss' forthcoming BBC Worldwide junket to Brazil to promote Doctor Who and Sherlock, marvel at the sales figures for The Web of Fear on DVD, celebrate the reunion of the Doctor, Ace and Bernice, and share with you our recommendations!

17 Mar 2014Coming Up On This Week's PodKast: The Doctors! (Okay, John Guilor)00:00:22

A little different to usual, here's a trailer for this week's podKast in which The Day of the Doctor voice actor John Guilor (he voiced the First Doctor in THAT scene) joins us for the full show and chats about the reconstructed Planet of Giants episode for the DVD release, his acclaimed Tom Baker impersonation and getting started as an actor much later in life than usual.

Oh, and then there's the bit when he tells us how that Time Lord war room sequence in the #DoctorWho 50th anniversary special was going to run before the Capaldi shot was added...

To whet appetites, this is the trailer...

18 Mar 2014The PodKast Talks To Doctor Who Voice Actor John Guilor!01:01:39

He voiced the First Doctor in The Day of the Doctor's famous multi-Doctor scene, and now John Guilor descends on the Kasterborous #DoctorWho podKast!

Parental advisory: this podKast features some adult language. There is also discussion of potential spoilers, so please, don't listen if you're easily offended by either.

Chatting to James McLean and Christian Cawley, John tells us all about his work voice the First Doctor in the reconstructed Planet of Giants DVD release, offers some impersonations of Tom Baker and Paul Darrow, and shares a few fun stories. We also get to hear how John came late to acting - at age 35!

25 Mar 2014PodKast Catchup - James & Brian Talk Doctor Who News00:59:19

Following last week's silly shenanigan with John Guilor, the PodKast with a "K" gets down to business with James McLean and Brian A Terranova discussing some recent news without the formatted interjections of lead host Christian Cawley.

The result is a laid back chat about some recent #DoctorWho news. Some items you may have already heard discussed on the podKast, but not with Brian, so you'll be getting some all-new thoughts and a very different feel to the usual show.

04 Apr 2014Doctor Who PodKast Remembers The Late Kate O'Mara, Rani Actress00:45:44

James McLean and Christian Cawley are back with another Doctor Who podKast, discussing the late Kate O'Mara - evil Time Lady The Rani - and the various April Fool stories this week.

08 Apr 2014PodKast With Tenth Doctor Cosplaying Celebrity Brian Terranova!00:47:49

James McLean, Brian A Terranova and Christian Cawley bring you their weekly discussion of all things Doctor Who in the latest podKast (with a "K"). This week, Brian regales with tales of the Louisville WizardWorld Comic Con in which he appeared in his cosplaying glory as the Tenth Doctor for a panel!

We also discuss the latest casting and related rumours about Doctor Who Series 8, and offer our usual weekly recommendations.

Oh and listen out for a few recollections of late 70s/early 80s Saturday morning children's show Swap Shop, nuclear drills and some special post-production horns...

Ready? Click play below to get started!

16 Apr 2014Doctor Who Podcast Discusses Dalek, Cybermen, Ice Warrior Redesigns01:16:55

In this week's podKast, we discuss the many redesigned monsters to have appeared in #DoctorWho over the years, from Daleks and Cybermen to Sontarans, Ice Warriors and Silurians. There's also chat about Tom Baker launching a run of classic Doctor Who on the Horror Channel and some missing episodes #omnirumour talk!

23 Apr 2014Revenge vs Rise: we talk Cybermen!01:08:36

PodKasting as a duo this week, Brian A Terranova and James McLean give their thoughts on a couple of recent #DoctorWho news items before turning their attention to two Cybermen stories.

Revenge of the Cybermen in 1975 was the cyborg race's first appearance since 1969, while Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel was their introduction to nuWho (a brief cameo in Dalek notwithstanding). Both stories attempted to rewrite the Cyberman legend, with varying levels of success, and also featured a Doctor with two companions.

While it is difficult to establish which story is "best", Brian and James nevertheless have a great discussion about their likes and dislikes about the two stories.

01 May 2014What Would You Wear for Time Travel? 00:55:08

It's #Doctor Who podKast time, and this week we have a nice long chat about the various looks that the Doctor has had over the years and ask: what would you wear?

Faced with the prospect of chatting about a heckuva lot of Doctor Who news, Christian Cawley and James McLean cope admirably with the onslaught of interesting talking points with their usual irreverence and insight before getting stuck into the issue of time travelling attire in the classic and modern series.

With no Brian Terranova this time around, you'll probably find that on this occasion his absence is almost unnoticed. After all, it's a topic that he might have ended up dominating, what with his cosplay tendencies...

Listen out for lots of talk about Jon Pertwee's waistcoat, Peter Capaldi's real-life attire and Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch denying interest in each other's shows. Oh and the recommendations are pretty good too!

06 May 2014Spoons, Terminators, Soap & Doctor Who Missing Episodes in the PodKast00:56:05

Hey, Kasterborites - it's podKast time, in which Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss a few topical items that have been drawing attention in the world of #DoctorWho over the past week.

This time, we've got our thoughts on the latest missing episodes development (if indeed it is related at all) and have a chat abut Matt Smith's casting in the new #Terminator trilogy (also taking a sidestep to chew over the last two movies in that franchise-by-default).

We also spend a bit of time on the matter of whether Russell T Davies made Doctor Who "soapy" - or wasn't it always a bit like that?

Finally, our recommendations - don't miss the moment when Christian reveals who should have been the Doctor's companion in Series 7a! (#spoilers, sweetie)

13 May 2014International success for Doctor Who stars & missing episodes01:05:14

Brian Terranova rejoins the podKast this week with Christian Cawley and James McLean, ready to throw his thoughts into the ring on a number of topics, from David Tennant's US accent to how much healthier Matt Smith is looking since he quit #DoctorWho.

Throw in some now-obligatory missing episodes talk, Brian's awesome TARDIS key collection and mention of his nemesis Paul McGann's Cat (a commenter in these parts) and you'll soon wonder how James and Christian ever manage to get to the end of a show when he isn't around.

Indeed, it's enough to make you wish that Brian Terranova lived here in the UK. But if he did, we'd have to change the time we do the podKast.

So, press play and enjoy!

20 May 2014PodKast Doctor Who Teardown: Pertwee Season 7 vs Bouffant Years01:03:46

Here's a question for you: is Season 7 of #DoctorWho better or worse than the rest of the Jon Pertwee era? We don't know, but Christian Cawley and James McLean certainly had a good go at discussing it in this week's podKast.

Other topics include a bunch of unglamorous weirdos picking of the Radio Times Audience Award #BAFTA2014 for Doctor Who's 50th anniversary episode The Day of the Doctor while the production team is filming in Lanzarote, some talk about David Tennant being described as the "quintessential Doctor" by show legend Terrance Dicks and speculation over the Series 8 start date.

Oh and we start off with the most unusual Kasterborous discussion yet. Believe us, we have no idea how we ended up doing that...

27 May 2014PodKast Time: Doctor Who Teasers, Gallifrey Dreams & eBay 00:57:43

It's the full podKast team this week as Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova look at the recent news and discussions in the world of #DoctorWho. We've got chat and speculation about Series 8 and the role of the volcanic island of Lanzarote, a return to the podKast of The Horns of Nimon, speculation about Colin Baker's rumoured casting in the new #StarWars movie and the very popular film episode from The Wheel In Space that appeared on eBay this week.

If all of that wasn't enough, we also get sidetracked on several occasions, not least by the difference in names of toys and TV shows between the UK and USA, and in what may become a weekly thing, Christian manages to squeeze a mention of his favourite group #LedZeppelin into the podKast.

Hit play to get started!

03 Jun 2014Vworp Vs Kasterborous Magazine: Doctor Who Fanzine Chat!01:19:45

Kasterborous #DoctorWho podKastWe've a special guest on this week's Doctor Who podKast in the shape of Gareth Kavanagh, who joins us for a full hour (and the rest) of news discussion and fanzine sparring.

As well as covering Steven Moffat's recent comments at the Hay Festival, Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova also quiz Gareth on this thoughts about the possibility of Doctor Who ending back in 2008, the recent attempt to shift a 16mm film of The Wheel in Space part 3 on eBay and there's even time to have a chat about the amazing Doctor Who/Rocky Horror Show mashup by The Hillywood Show, which if you haven't seen yet should be clicked immediately in the shownotes below.

After that, we still managed to squeeze in a little preview about Vworp Vworp! issue 3 (which features an interview with #AlanMoore), which is still in production, and Gareth had some interesting questions for Christian and James about Kasterborous Magazine 2, which is out now.

Time to hit play!

11 Jun 2014PodKast: The Underwater Menace Of Sexism In Doctor Who00:57:49

The podKast trio of Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian A. Terranova are back this week with a selection of interesting chats about #DoctorWho Series 8 casting, sexism, the missing DVD release of #missingepisode The Underwater Menace and their collection of recommendations.

17 Jun 2014The Wrongness of Torchwood & Recolourising Doctor Who01:09:34

The podKast is back this week with a spinoff of our hugely popular on-site discussion - thanks to Andy Frankham-Allen - about the inherent issues with #Torchwood, the #DoctorWho spinoff that ran from 2006-2011.

Following this we take a look at the issue of colourisation, and whether it should be used on any classic #DoctorWho serials (or indeed whether any of them should be decolourised!).

Join Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova for an hour of Whoniverse chat and occasional madness.

25 Jun 2014PodKast With A Mortal Enemy01:01:35

In what can only be described as a warm, fireside chat about #DoctorWho, Brian Terranova and James McLean take their lead from a couple of news and feature articles recently on Kasterborous and take them for a walk.

Like a free-form Jazz duet, James and Brian lurch from classic to nuWho, the death of traditional fan meetups vs their modern Internet-driven successors and chat about Philadelphia Wizard World (where Brian was cosplaying the Tenth Doctor), Torchwood and the Master!

You may well ask what else they squeezed, but we couldn't possibly tell you. Just hit play to find out :)

02 Jul 2014Don't Like The New Doctor Who: Would You Quit Fandom?00:48:37

Hello, dear listener, and welcome to this week's podKast in which we cover some of the latest #DoctorWho Series 8 news and ask the question: if Doctor Who changed drastically (such as casting a woman Doctor or canning the #TARDIS), would you quit fandom?

It's an interesting question, prompted by the actions of a fellow writer recently.

As ever, we're looking forward to hearing back from you on this topic and everything else we cover this week, so feel free to comment below, tweet us or email.

Sadly there is no Brian Terranova this week, who was sadly caught out with some time travelling freedom fighting on Peladon. Fortunately, Christian Cawley and James McLean are on hand to take your hand and guide you through some exciting, pre-new series news items.

Just to remind you: Doctor Who is on air next month.

Yes, I thought you would like that :) Here's something else you might like - press play to begin!

08 Jul 2014We Talk Leaked Doctor Who Series 8 Scripts & Episodes!01:00:09

In light of the recent leaked #DoctorWho Series 8 episodes & scripts storm, Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian A Terranova are here with another podKast in which we cover the shock leak and the impact of spoilers over the next few weeks.

This leak is serious stuff. Some Facebook pages and websites are taking the spoilers to heart, sharing them with unsuspecting readers - completely unnecessary, you might think, but of course their aim is to increase hits and popularity. It might prove to be a double-edged sword for some.

Remember, these are real spoilers, plot points, dialogue and twists. We're not talking about surprise casting or photos here, we're talking about the actual storylines from five Series 8 episodes.

Also on the agenda today, the latest Doctor Who Series 8 trailer and we have a chat about Brian's collection of police box photos.

Hit play!

15 Jul 2014New Doctor Who Trailer Discussed PLUS Leakgate Update01:00:29

Hey, dear reader, it's podKast time, where we discuss the recent leakgate revelations and chew the fat over the awesome new #DoctorWho Series 8 trailer that cast a Whovian shadow over the #WorldCup Final on Sunday evening.

Recently we've learned that the leaked Doctor Who scripts and first episode Deep Breath were possibly stored on an unsecured drive on an open web server - so who is to blame for this incident?

Meanwhile, we're loving the new trailer and the various shots therein (particularly the shadows revolving around Peter Capaldi's face!). There's also news about the Doctor Who World Tour and a callback to the debunked rumours about Steven Moffat joining a future #StarWars production.

One last word: we recorded this week's podKast on Bastille Day...

22 Jul 2014The PodKast Talks to David Tennant TV Double Colum Regan!00:53:53

How excited were we this week to welcome onto the podKast a man with a voice like a god, who also doubled for David Tennant in various RTD-era #DoctorWho episodes including Voyage of the Damned and Journey's End?! Say hello, dear listener, to Colum Regan, musician, extra, double and novelist, who is here to talk about just how he became the Doctor's Double as well as his upcoming book The Fly Guy.

Along with joining us discussing the Doctor Who Series 8 news, Colum helpfully explains just how he went from working as a musician to standing in for David Tennant! It's a fascinating story, spanning Weevils and Kylie Minogue, and we're sure you're going to enjoy listening to it as much as we did.

Colum Regan will have his first book out later this year, "The Fly Guy" and we'll also hear from him about that.

Oh, and he has a deep, booming, god-like voice. We mentioned that above, but feel it is worth repeating.

29 Jul 2014Peter Capaldi's Doctor Who Flirting Ban & Missing Episodes01:01:35

We're back, and my word what a packed podKast we have, brimming with #DoctorWho news from the past week - because, frankly, there has been a lot.

From Steven Moffat's unusual comment about the Doctor not referring to himself as the "nth" (no one said he did, did they?!) to the recent Peter Capaldi interview in the Sunday Times Magazine, Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova cover a lot of ground and share their thoughts about these and many more topics.

Recording this on Monday afternoon, the heat possibly played a part in some... confused comments from both Christian and James. We'll say it was the heat, anyway, and hope it was nothing to do with some saddening reliance on ginger beer.

So, with all this in mind, it's time to hit play!

07 Aug 2014Sharing the Peter Capaldi Love in the Doctor Who Podcast01:01:38
On this week's Doctor Who podcast, Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss 10 reasons why new star Peter Capaldi is going to be awesome.

The podKast team really think it's time to share the love for a man who is possibly one of the most accomplished performers to take the role (he's got an Oscar, you know!) and in light of the noisy naysayers with their shallow ageist attitude, the fightback starts right here.

We also spend a few moments discussing the Fourth Doctor, with news that both Matthew Waterhouse and Tom Baker are interested in reuniting in a Big Finish drama, and that Tom's Doctor tops the eBay Doctor Who merchandise sales chart.

Along with our recommendations, we've also got an impassioned plea from Christian who is exasperated by the actions of certain fans looking for nude photos of Jenna Coleman and Karen Gillan...

14 Aug 2014We Get Excited About Deep Breath & Peter Capaldi!00:56:58

This week’s podKast reunites Christian Cawley, Brian Terranova and James McLean as they mull over a whole host of recent news items.

We get excited by the enthusiastic press reviews for Deep Breath, have a chinwag about the audacity of the #DoctorWhoWorldTour and celebrate 15 years of #BigFinish producing #DoctorWho adventures (and here’s to another 15!).

Meanwhile, we have a think about just how Steven Moffat can possibly work in a decent explanation for Peter Capaldi’s face having appeared in Doctor Who previously, before agreeing (quite reasonably!) that IT DOESN’T ACTUALLY MATTER!

Finally, we offer you a trio of recommendations, all Doctor Who and each interesting in their own right…

20 Aug 2014Doctor Who Series 8 Preview On The PodKast!00:56:16

Here it is: our final podKast before #DoctorWho Series 8 changes the show forever! Previewing Peter Capaldi's first 12-episode run this week is Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova, who are literally chomping at the bit to watch and enjoy Deep Breath on Saturday!

So, you know the topic - but what else is in store? Well, we cover the full confirmed list of episode titles and writers, the leaking of Robot of Sherwood on Bittorrent, press (and our own) reports that Jenna Coleman is leaving Doctor Who, and as ever we have our trio of recommendations.

Finally, don't miss the details for the big news: next week's podKast will be recorded LIVE on Google Hangouts and we'll be inviting feedback and discussion from our listener(s)!

27 Aug 2014The PodKast Reviews Doctor Who: Deep Breath01:18:49

Welcome to this week's podKast, which was recorded live on Sunday, 24th August and features an in-depth discussion on #DoctorWho Series 8 opener #DeepBreath and of course #PeterCapaldi's first appearance as the Doctor!

As a live podKast, we were able to feature and comments from some of the Doctor Who fans who watched Christian Cawley, Brian A. Terranova and James McLean's various musings on Hangouts or on YouTube.

01 Sep 2014The PodKast & John Guilor Talk Into The Dalek (AKA "Up The Dalek")01:19:58

#DoctorWho voice artist and actor John Guilor joins the podKast team this week to discuss Into the Dalek, the second episode of Series 8 starring Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor.

What did we think of it? What did John think? And just what is Doctor Omega? You'll have to click play to find out, but let me warn you first - there's a pleasing surprise that will make you feel warm and giddy and want to tell the world when you press that button.

No, don't rush in, not yet. Take a deep breath, and then LISTEN!

10 Sep 2014Robot of Sherwood Reviewed by The PodKast01:10:52

It's time to sit back and enjoy this week's #DoctorWho podKast, in which Brian Terranova and James McLean consider the events of the past few days in fandom, focusing on the third episode of Series 8, Robot of Sherwood!

17 Sep 2014Listen! To The PodKast Review01:12:58

Instant classic #Listen is the main focus of conversation in this week's #doctorwho podKast, with Christian Cawley, Brian A Terranova and James McLean.

We also cover Philip Morris' recent comments on the show's current status and recent overnight audience drop, and the passing of Angus Lennie and Jane Baker.

23 Sep 2014It’s A Time Heist! The PodKast Reviews Doctor Who S8 E5 00:59:22

Although not guilty of anything (other than crimes against podcasting), the Kasterborous podKast team (with a K) were forced back together by The Teller to review Time Heist this week. Did they enjoy the new #DoctorWho episode? Or was it a poorly cobbled-together collection of tropes and visuals from Hustle? (Clue: we liked it.) There's only one way you're going to find out: click play.

30 Sep 2014Doctor Who Series 8: PodKast With A Caretaker01:11:05

What did you think of this week's #DoctorWho, The Caretaker, by Gareth Roberts? We liked it, and you can find out just how much by clicking play on our latest podKast. Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian A Terranova are your hosts. Look at out some chat about Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, too...

08 Oct 2014Did Kill The Moon Divide The PodKast?00:44:16

n this week’s podKast, we chat about the surprisingly divisive new #DoctorWho episode Kill the Moon. Did Christian Cawley think it nonsense? Was James McLean left spellbound by its magic? Could Brian A. Terranova quit fandom over it?

There’s only one way to find out…

16 Oct 2014Mummy on the Orient Express Gives The PodKast 66 Seconds To Speak01:17:25

It's time to set it straight: was Mummy on the Orient Express the best episode of #DoctorWho Series 8, or has everyone just gone mad, seeing things that aren't there and only living for another 66 seconds?

Christian Cawley, Brian Terranova and James McLean find out...

23 Oct 2014Is The PodKast Flatlined By Flatline?01:05:29
Is Flatline the new Blink? Was the podKast team wowed, or did bad CGI take them out of the moment? Join Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova for a new podKast in which they discuss the latest episode from Doctor Who Series 8 and cover a few recent news items. Look out for their recommendations at the end of the show!

Shownotes

Introduction by John Guilor.

Remember, if you enjoy the show, find us on Apple Podcasts, where your reviews will help the show considerably.

28 Oct 2014In The PodKast Of The Night... Doctor Who Review00:55:19

We came, we saw, we were slightly befuddled. #DoctorWho Series 8 episode In The Forest Of The Night has left fans a little perplexed (although it has plenty of strong aspects to it) and it's now time to find out exactly what the podKast team of Christian Cawley, Brian A Terranova and James McLean thought of Frank Cottrell Boyce's unusual adventure.

05 Nov 2014Doctor Who Finale: Master/Missy Flip Splits The PodKast!01:04:05
A two-part #DoctorWho season finale?! It's like the halcyon days of the RTD era, with Cybermen and the Master wandering around, isn't it?

Except, of course, the Master has a new name, #Missy, and a brand new look, and the Kasterborous team isn't quite unanimous on the gender switching of the Doctor's Time Lord rival. Join Christian Cawley, Brian Terranova and James McLean as the discuss Dark Water, the Master/Missy transition and give their recommendations for stuff to enjoy between episodes.

We need your reviews! Head to Apple Podcasts to leave a rating and review, and we’ll read it out. Deal? Not on Apple Podcasts? Leave us a review somewhere else, send the link over on Twitter or Facebook or podkasterborous@gmail.com, and we’ll read it out.
16 Nov 2014Kasterborous PodKast On Death in Heaven, Missing Episodes00:24:56

Well, dear listener, it's been a tough week. Basically, we lost our #DoctorWho Death in Heaven podKast recording on Monday, thanks to the software we usually rely on to record our Skype call crashing without warning or notice.

The result is a podKast that didn't happen. But did.

So, James McLean and Christian Cawley have this evening put some time aside to record a new, shorter podKast. We can't recapture the magic of Monday's disaster, but we can take a look at a new topic for the evening: Doctor Who #missingepisodes...

18 Nov 2014Rubbertoe Replicas' Nick Robatto Talks Doctor Who Props00:57:48

Hey. listener! It's time to become a viewer once again, as the Kasterborous PodKast (with a "K") goes all visual to talk to Nick Robatto of Rubbertoe Replicas.

Nick's the guy who makes a lot of the original props for #DoctorWho, from the mini police box in Flatline (it was a prop, not a toy!) to the sonic screwdriver, which we reviewed recently.

Unlike most podKasts that feature a lot of James McLean and Christian Cawley with Brian, this time around it's fair to say that other than the intro and outro, it's Brian and Nick's show. Nick was a great guest, and if you're a collector of Doctor Who props or you're keen to build your own, you'll find Nick a fascinating interview subject. Find out more about Nick's prop replicas at www.rubbertoereplicas.com.

25 Nov 2014PodKast Goes Vworp Vworp! With Gareth Kavanagh01:02:00

It's podKast time! This week we again relied on Google Hangouts for our weekly discussion of all things #DoctorWho, with guest Gareth Kavanagh, editor of the amazing Vworp Vworp! fanzine and producer of various Doctor Who flavoured productions in Manchester.

Gareth joins usual hosts Christian Cawley and Brian A Terranova to talk Lego Doctor Who, whether Jenna Coleman is staying or going, and offer some very interesting recommendations.

03 Dec 2014Doctor Who PodKast With A Filthy Mouth00:51:00

Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian A. Terranova inadvertently take the podKast into adult territory this week as the #DoctorWho discussions find themselves dwelling on the idea of a sonic screwdriver sex toy.

Obviously there is much more than this within the 51 minutes of this week's guest-less chat, but let's face it, that's the bit you'll be looking forward to so just hit play and wait, okay?

10 Dec 2014John Guilor and Rupert Booth Talk Doctor Who Omnirumour - PLUS Orac Skiffle!01:16:54

Instead of just mulling over the latest missing episodes news, this week's podKast brings in two guests, fans (who are also actors) John Guilor and Rupert Booth to talk about the omnirumour and much more. Brace yourselves, Kasterborites, for a podKast containing lofts, basements, penpals, appreciation society presidents, professional voice work, interactive movies but sadly, no James McLean. Hosted by Christian Cawley and Brian A Terranova.

Warning - there is some adult language in this week's podKast!

23 Dec 2014Doctor Who Special "Last Christmas" Previewed01:05:12

This week, the Doctor Who podKast (with a "K") discusses the build up to the 2014 Christmas special, Last Christmas. Before that, however, James McLean and Brian A Terranova discuss the rather interesting clip from 1985's BBC Children in Need, featuring virtually all surviving Doctor Who stars and their companions... with one very notable exception!

The show ends with sage advice concerning your expectations for Last Christmas. Until next week, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

29 Dec 2014PodKast Reviews Last Christmas, Previews The Highest Science01:09:15

This week, Christian Cawley and James McLean take their critical eyes to Last Christmas, the #DoctorWho Christmas special for 2014, and discover a seasonal treat that stands up well alongside similar adventures.

Although there is one question about Santa Claus that remains unanswered... We also take a look at The Highest Science, a new Seventh Doctor adventure from Big Finish that has been adapted from a Gareth Roberts novel from the Virgin New Adventures range back in 1993.

Finally, we chat as spoiler-free as we can concerning Ripper Street Series 3, which has just concluded on Amazon Instant Video.

06 Jan 2015PodKast Remembers First Doctor Who Series 1 Trailer Ten Years Ago00:54:53

Amazingly it is a decade since #DoctorWho returned, sparked by a teaser trailer on New Year's Day. Interestingly on the same day Kasterborous.com launched.

So, you can guess what we're talking about this week. As well as Doctor Who Series 1's exciting early build up, James McLean, Brian A Terranova and Christian Cawley also discuss the recent Mirror attack over a supposed ratings slump as well as offer their recommendations.

Also, look out for news of next week's special guests...

13 Jan 2015The PodKast Learns More About The Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart Books!01:00:20

We welcome Andy Frankham-Allen, Shaun Russell and Hannah Haisman - granddaughter of one-time #DoctorWho scriptwriter Mervyn Haisman - to this week's podKast to find out more about Candy Jar Books' new series of books about the post Web of Fear exploits of Alastair Lethbridge-Stewart!

If you don't already know about the Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart books, it is a series of four novels by Frankham-Allen, Lance Parkin, David A McKintee and Nick Walters. It's an exciting new range of books - probably the most exciting spinoff news since Big Finish started producing original stories back in 2001 - and we're sure the following discussion is going to answer many of your questions...

21 Jan 2015The PodKast: RTD's Doctor Who Movie & Moments That Made Us Laugh00:57:36

Russell T Davies would write a #DoctorWho movie, we learnt this week - but should we let him? Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian A Terranova are on hand to offer their thoughts on this and several other topics concerning the adventures of the Time Lord we know as the Doctor.

Also, look out for an update on Contradiction, the new interactive movie game starring recent podKast guests Rupert Booth and John Guilor, as well as Blake's 7 star Paul Darrow, which is out now.

29 Jan 2015PodKast: Sonic Screwdriver Props, Police Box Replicas & Monster Redesigns01:07:57

This week's podKast takes the slow road; without Christian Cawley (no voice), James McLean and Brian A. Terranova choose to talk about props, specifically the sonic screwdriver and police boxes, as well as suggesting some redesign tips for the Daleks and Cybermen.

So kick back and relax with James and Brian in a sort of timey wimey fireside chat. Hot chocolate might be in order, it's nice, comfy and warming, just like your hosts.

04 Feb 2015Can The PodKast Escape The Timelash?00:45:13

Taking a turn away from the usual podKast format this week, we head back in time, not to 2005, but to 1985, and the much-maligned Colin Baker story Timelash.

Over the past week, the Kasterborous team of Christian Cawley, Brian A Terranova and James McLean has watched Timelash (in varying degrees of completion) and they report back now, dear listener, for your interest and entertainment. Could it be that Glen McCoy’s script is, in fact, unfairly derided by fans, desperate to highlight a weak point of an already mixed run of episodes?

For those of you who don't know, Timelash - this week's only recommendation - stars Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant as the Doctor and Peri, who find themselves on the planet Karfel were the population are terrorised by the sinister Borad. Guest starring Paul Darrow as the villainous Tekker and including a historical figure in the proceedings, the story has long been lambasted by fans.

11 Feb 2015Big Finish & Christopher Eccleston Chat In The PodKast with a Seal of Rassilon00:58:14

This week we had planned to discuss another classic #DoctorWho serial that has a mixed reputation. However, as it is just Christian Cawley and James McLean, we decided instead to look at some of the more interesting news items of the past week, such as the nuWho/Big Finish crossover in UNIT: Extinction and the lovely sight of Christopher Eccleston helping out with a Whovian wedding proposal. There was also time to talk about the announceent of the Sixth Dotor's final adventure as well as the odd communications within the pages of Doctor Who Magazine between Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat.

We finish off with some interesting recommendations. Ready? Click play.

18 Feb 2015The Time Warrior: An Important Classic Doctor Who Serial That's A Bit... Meh00:56:11

While we to and fro, hither and thither throughout this week's podKast, on the whole the subject matter in The Time Warrior, the opening serial to the 1974 run of #DoctorWho, Jon Pertwee's last season and Lis Sladen's first. Oh, and it also makrs the first appearance of the Sontarans and reveals what the original Boba Fett would have looked like without his helmet.

We'll be honest: The Time Warrior is no one's favourite, but neither is it as bad as, say, Time and the Rani or New Earth (or, for that matter, Kill the Moon). Instead, it seems to exist in a sort of middle rank of the show's stories, neither loved nor hated, just sort of ignored, really, as an event episode that is actually a non-event. Is this reputation deserved? Does The Time Warrior have hidden depths? Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian A Terranova find out...

25 Feb 2015Doctor Who Props & Fan Stuff Discussed00:53:31

In a pleasant change from the usual podKast format, Christian Cawley and Brian A. Terranova broadcast this week’s show live on Google Hangouts. We appreciate it was short notice, and so you may have missed it, but worry not – you can watch the ensuing, freeform discussion (topped off with some recommendations). It certainly made a nice change to have the pressure of a live show (albeit for one live viewer!) and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

We’ll have the audio version for Audioboom, Sitcher and iTunes along a little later, but until then, click play above to watch Christian and Brian discuss props, Faye Marsay, #DoctorWho story formats and even Dapol figures…

04 Mar 2015The Ambassadors of PodKast00:58:01

In this week's podKast, things are a little timey-wimey. The recommendations section is first, in which Brian A Terranova and James McLean discuss classic #DoctorWho serial The Ambassadors of Death. Following this, things move towards a discussion on how Missy's return can work, without sacrificing the Doctor (who had little to do in the Series 8 finale) and wasting Michelle Gomez.

Some interesting ideas in there, people. Don't miss it...

12 Mar 2015Daylight Savings Timey-Wimey & Paternoster Doubts (PLUS: A Dozen Summers)01:01:01

We have a packed podKast for you this week, dear listener, as Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova attempt to get their heads around daylight savings time, the 12 (now 13) covers offered by Titan for their Ninth Doctor #DoctorWho #comic mini-series and Steven Moffat's claims that the BBC would do a Paternoster Gang spin-off "in a heartbeat".

The centrepiece of the podKast is probably Christian's chat with Kenton Hall about his upcoming movie, A Dozen Summers, which features Sixth Doctor Who Colin Baker, and look out, as ever, for our recommendations...

18 Mar 2015nuWho's 10th Anniversary: Remembering Doctor Who Series 1, Part 100:46:01

Yay, it’s podKast time! This week, Christian Cawley and Brian A Terranova open the anniversary discussion, remembering #DoctorWho Series 1 and mulling over the first 7 episodes, from Rose through to The Long Game. During the discussion, we recall the Rose leak, an event which had the potential to undermine the return of the show but instead had the fortunate effect of building interest!

26 Mar 2015nuWho's 10th Anniversary: Series 1, Part 2 Recalled00:59:36

Welcome to the second part of our nuWho anniversary podKast, in which we recall the 2005 series of #DoctorWho. After all, it's only 10 years since 2005, not since 2006 and alll the other years since, right? This time, James McLean joins Christian Cawley and Brian A Terranova to discuss the remaining episodes from the 2005 run, Father's Day through to The Christmas Invasion.

Time to hit play.

01 Apr 2015Doctor Who Series 9 Casting & Big Finish Revelations Discussed00:49:49

Lots to get through on this week's podKast, from #GameofThrones' Maisie Williams' casting in #DoctorWho and Big Finish's new licence to a discussion on the return of the hugely influentials #TheX-Files.

09 Apr 2015PodKast Discusses Doctor Who's Future & Communist Writer00:38:52

Lots to get through in this week's podKast, but amazingly we actually achieve it! Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss Steven Moffat's assertion that the show has a guaranteed five more years, the news of the Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart eBook and a chat with Michael Herbert, writer of the Mac Hulke pamphlet, "Doctor Who and the Communist."

Ready? Hit play!

14 Apr 2015PodKast Lands on the Planet of the Daleks!00:54:17

We head back in time with this week's podKast to revisit and reappraise the 1973 #DoctorWho six part #Dalek serial, Planet of the Daleks, starring Jon Pertwee and Katy Manning.

23 Apr 2015A PodKast with Autograph Anxiety PLUS Terrance Dicks Q&A01:07:37

#DoctorWho script editor and novelisation legend Terrance Dicks features in a special Q&A on this week’s podKast, recorded at the Fab Cafe in Manchester on April 19th 2015.

Aside from that, the usual team of Christian, Brian and James will be discussing everything from Crossroads to the new #StarWars movie trailer, and all of the related Doctor Who in between.

28 Apr 2015PodKast Goes Time and the Rani Crazy (No, Really. Oh, okay, no we didn't...)00:56:00
We've been promising it for weeks, and at long last we've finally bit the bullet and given much-maligned classic Doctor Who serial Time and the Rani the detailed rewatch and discussion it deserves. Christian, Brian and James are all dying to tell you just what they thought of it... if they can get round to it.

After all, we've far more important things to talk about, right...?

08 May 2015Learn More About Doctor Who Writer Mac Hulke at An Afternoon with Terrance Dicks00:13:14

This week's podKast is a two-part affair. First, we've got Michael Herbert offering you a summary of #DoctorWho writer Mac Hulke's early career, a great introduction to Michaels pamphlet, "Doctor Who and the Communist" from Five Leaves Bookshop.

Watch out over the weekend for part 2, in which Terrance Dicks recalls Mac Hulke, his one time landlord and friend.

12 May 2015PodKast: Terrance Dicks Discusses Doctor Who Writer Malcolm Hulke (Part 2)01:04:04

We've brought you a lot of features recently about one-time communist Malcolm Hulke, the classic #DoctorWho scriptwriter whose career was the subject of a pamphlet, 'Doctor Who and the Communist', and an event, "An Afternoon with Terrance Dicks". Well, this is the last portion. The podKast team takes a break this week so that you can listen to Gareth Kavanagh (occasional podKast guest, spiritual co-host and 'Vworp Vworp!' editor) interview the great Uncle Terrance about his friend and colleague Malcolm Hulke.

Without Hulke, Terrance would never have been Doctor Who scriptwriter, then editor, then novelist. He has a lot to say about the man, as you might expect.

The full podKast team will be back next week (we expect!) but until then, make yourself a drink, click play and close your eyes and feel the full atmosphere of Terrance Dicks' chat about his friend and colleague Malcolm Hulke.

21 May 2015The PodKast with a Moffat-Inspired F-Bomb00:51:13

It all started off so innocently. Christian Cawley and Brian A Terranova settled down to chat about some recent #DoctorWho news when it all got too much for the American. The news that Steven Moffat had declared the Doctor "not a role model" sent the Kasterborous associate editor over the edge, resulting in a foul-mouthed tirade that threatened to take the podKast off the air.

Forever.

Fortunately, however, the podKast is not bound by broadcasting rules, so click play below to hear what Brian had to say about Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat's very odd statement. Also, please note (if you hadn't realised already) that this podKast contains adult language.

28 May 2015Is Steven Moffat Overstaying His Welcome on Doctor Who?00:52:35

A bit of a low key podKast this week as Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss all manner of topics, from recent casting to stone Cyberman heads, and whether Steven Moffat should really be running #DoctorWho Series 10...
