Every week I come on this Podcast and talk to you about mental health. I began to feel like a hypocrite coming on here sharing my growth journey, while, secretly, every night I would be “unwinding” with my buttery Chardonnay. Realizing something had to change in my life, I decided to give up my nightly vice and it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made!
With the last month's sober journey under my belt, it is no surprise that the universe chose sober coach Casey Davidson as this week's guest on the show. Casey is a Certified Life Coach and a Master Practitioner in Core Energy Leadership who helps other successful women who’ve gotten into the habit of drinking too much or too often, reevaluate their relationship with alcohol, get out of overwhelm, and create lives they love. How amazing is that?!
Casey has given me new found inspiration to continue on this path and to no longer hide my personal relationship with alcohol with the world in shame. I invite you to open yourself up even more through this insightful conversation as we all work together to feel happier, more in control, and at peace.

02 May 2023 | Surviving a Mass School Shooting 25 Years Later with Actress Mary Hollis Inboden | 01:01:23
Since the 90s mass shootings have continued to rise in numbers. This year alone, as of April, there have been 179 mass shootings in the US, 16 of which have been school shootings. Fear and anxiety have become the default for our children as we send them to school everyday knowing that their schools are not safe. Change needs to be made, and it’s so important that we continue to speak out on this pressing issue. In this episode, I discuss the heartbreaking reality with a survivor of a shooting which took place in 1998. Mary Hollis Inboden talks about her horrific experience at Westside Middle School when she was only 12. The aftermath of this shooting has traumatized her and her classmates to this day. Mary Hollis lost her best friend Paige,a teacher and classmates on that horrific day. The sad fact is that I had never heard of this particular shooting. Columbine put school shooters on the map and today it’s as if Americans forget each one so easily and move on. These people all have names and families and friends that love and miss them. This episode is heavy but I could not be more proud of Mary Hollis for sharing and hopefully her story will instill change.

08 Aug 2023 | 9/11 Survivor: Living a Life of Service with Will Jimeno | 01:16:05
NOTE: This Revisited Series is the re-release of my favorite most important episodes.
Today's episode is one I will never forget. Will Jimeno recounts his story of 911. If you were old enough you will never forget where you were on that horrific day. Will tells the story of walking into the towers knowing that a plane had hit the building. He says he and his fellow Port Authority Officers knew what they needed to do. It is nothing but a miracle that Will is still alive. He lives his life in service to others.
It was an honor to talk to Will, a true hero.
ABOUT WILL:
At the time of the attacks, Will Jimeno was a rookie cop assigned to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. He saw the shadow of American Airlines Flight 11, the airplane that seconds later hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center. He rode to the WTC site with 20 other Port Authority police officers in a commandeered bus.
The collapse of the South Tower trapped Jimeno and two other Port Authority officers, led by Sgt. McLoughlin, under the Concourse between the twin towers. Only Jimeno and McLoughlin survived. Dominick Pezzulo survived the initial collapse but was killed by the collapse of the North Tower while he was trying to free Jimeno.
A USA Today account observed:
Sometimes they yelled for help. But mostly the 48-year-old sergeant, a 21-year veteran, and the 33-year-old rookie talked intimately, sometimes revealing personal things — about kids, families, feelings — that they had never shared with anyone. Jimeno asked the Sergeant to deliver a message over the radio to his wife, Allison, who was seven months pregnant. They had received no response earlier, but he thought maybe their radio call would be picked up on a police tape recording. "Attention," Sgt. McLoughlin announced, "Officer Jimeno requests that his baby girl be named Olivia." His wife had liked the name. He hadn't been so sure. Now, as he prepared to die, he wanted to think of his baby girl, Olivia.[
The two men were located and extricated after former U.S. Marines Sergeant Jason Thomas and Staff Sergeant Dave Karnes heard their cries for help. Both survivors, especially McLoughlin, were severely injured. They required several surgeries and months of hospitalization for recovery and rehabilitation. On June 11, 2002, McLoughlin (with a walker) and Jimeno (with a limp) walked across a stage at Madison Square Garden to receive the Port Authority's Medal of Honor.

08 Apr 2025 | Grief, Healing, and the Hole That Remains: A Mother's Journey Through Loss and Life After Suicide with Author Betsy Thibaut Stephenson | 01:13:03
Trigger warning: This episode discusses suicide, depression, and grief—please listen with care.
In this deeply emotional episode, I'm sharing the space with a remarkable guest: Betsy Thibaut Stephens. Betsy is a mother, writer, and survivor of unthinkable loss. Her son, Charlie, was a bright, compassionate, easygoing 21-year-old who quietly battled depression—a struggle that ended in tragedy. In her beautifully written book, Blackbird: A Mother’s Reflections on Grief, Loss, and Life After Suicide, Betsy invites us into her journey of remembrance, heartbreak, and ultimately, healing.
Together, we talk about the raw truth of losing someone who masked their pain behind a smile, the relentless “what ifs,” and the impossible decision to keep living in the aftermath. She shares the quiet bravery of mothering through sorrow—flying across the country to hold Charlie while he cried, learning to speak his name out loud after his passing, and finding purpose through the pain.
This episode is for anyone navigating grief, loving someone through their darkness, or trying to understand the invisible weight so many carry. Betsy’s vulnerability is a lifeline. Her story reminds us that depression doesn’t always look like hopelessness—and that healing isn’t about forgetting, but about remembering with intention.
We cry. We reflect. We say their names. And in doing so, we offer a powerful reminder: you are not alone. Your grief matters. Your love still has a voice. And even on the hardest days, there is still a path forward.
Blackbird is available everywhere books are sold starting April 8th. Please share this episode with someone who needs to know they are seen and never alone.

17 Sep 2024 | From Hurt to Healing: Finding Strength and Healing Through Personal Narratives with Story Healer and Guide Dr. Rick Diamond | 01:02:27
In this episode I’m joined by Dr. Rick Diamond, an expert in the intersection of storytelling and healing, We explore our journeys from being deeply involved in organized religion to embracing a more personal and fluid spiritual path. Rick and I share how our experiences have taught us that spirituality isn't confined to a particular place or organization but is found within ourselves.
Rick recounts his own transition from leading a faith community to becoming a spiritual and story healer. He explains how he discovered that true spiritual fulfillment comes from within, through listening to our own stories and beliefs and making necessary changes. We discuss how this realization led him to create a model to help others explore and reshape their own narratives.
We emphasize that it’s okay to feel anger and that acknowledging and working through these feelings is crucial for personal growth. Rick offers practical advice on reclaiming one’s power and shifting focus from past hurts to creating a new, empowering story.
We also touch on the broader issue of anger and division in today’s world, particularly in politics. We discuss the importance of accepting suffering as a part of life and approaching it with compassion, rather than letting it drive us further apart.
Throughout the episode, Rick and I invite you to explore your own stories and beliefs, and we provide support and resources for those interested in furthering their personal and spiritual journeys.

28 Aug 2024 | Angel Finally Found His Wings: How Community and Compassion Transformed Ron Hunter's Life | 01:13:51
In this episode, I’m joined by the inspiring Ron Hunter, a survivor of childhood trauma and the author of ‘Angel Finally Found His Wings’. Together, we dive deep into a profoundly emotional exploration of survival, resilience, and the extraordinary courage it takes to confront the past. Ron shares his incredible journey, one that began with a childhood marked by unthinkable pain—abuse, poverty, and time spent in an orphanage. Despite the overwhelming darkness that defined his early years, Ron discovered that even in the bleakest moments, there can be pockets of light. He found solace in the compassion of strangers, moments of unexpected kindness that served as lifelines. These experiences, although small, shaped his path forward, allowing him to heal, grow, and ultimately become a powerful voice for those who have suffered in silence.
Through our conversation, we reflect on the transformative power of community and the role that love, faith, and kindness play in healing even the deepest wounds. Ron's story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the belief that, no matter how broken we may feel, there is always hope. As he opens up about his struggles, he illustrates how, in the midst of unimaginable suffering, the smallest acts of kindness—from a mentor, a counselor, or even a stranger—can offer a glimmer of hope. These seemingly minor gestures become the very things that keep us going, the light that guides us out of the darkness. Ron’s journey highlights the idea that “it takes a village” and that even in life’s most difficult moments, we are never truly alone. When people come together, offering support and love, they help shape a brighter future not just for individuals but for entire communities.
This episode is more than just a story of overcoming trauma—it’s a powerful reminder that we each have the ability to make a difference in someone else’s life. Whether by offering a listening ear, providing a sense of safety, or simply being there when someone needs us most, we all have the capacity to be a source of light for others. Ron’s journey of survival, healing, and ultimately, redemption, is an inspiring testament to the enduring power of love and kindness. It reminds us that even when life’s storms seem impossible to weather, we have within us the power to not only survive but to thrive. Through faith, vulnerability, and the support of others, we can find our way back to the light, embracing the hope that is always there, waiting to guide us forward.

29 Nov 2022 | Youths Struggle with body image | Learn What to Expect When Going Through Treatment For an Eating Disorder With Jeff and Kathy Long | 00:54:13
As a young girl I struggled with my body image. Starting at the age of 12 I began noticing and comparing the difference between others' bodies and mine. This is an ongoing struggle that so many face, especially teens and young adults, with 95% of people with eating disorders being between 12 and 25. It’s because of this that makes what Jeff and Kathy long do so important.
For years, the media has always showcased unrealistic and dangerous body standards, from models in magazines to actresses on TV. However, kids nowadays have even more exposure to these dangerous standards through social media. With filters, Photoshop, and strategically angled photos, an unattainable and unhealthy body has become normalized and desired.
No one understands this issue more than Jeff and Kathy Long. After their daughters' long battle with Anorexia Nervosa, they decided to write their book A Parent's Guide to Anorexia, which includes information on treatment options, support, and more, in order to help guide parents with a child going through Anorexia. Jeff and Kathy are also the founders of Teens 4 Teens Help, which is a nonprofit organization for young people struggling with mental health issues. Teens 4 Teens Help allows young people to share their experiences with recovery peer-to-peer in order to help others recover as well.

18 Mar 2025 | Standing Up Against Corruption: A Wildlife Biologist’s Fight for Justice with Former DOJ Employee Ben Vizzachero | 01:09:57
Imagine dedicating your life to protecting nature—only to have it ripped away without warning. That’s exactly what happened to today’s guest, Ben Vizzachero, a passionate wildlife biologist employed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) who lost his job in a wave of illegal firings. Despite years of dedication, hard work, promotions, and praise, Ben’s career came to an abrupt halt.
In this eye-opening episode, Ben opens up about his journey of resilience. From following his childhood dream of working in wildlife conservation with the Los Padres National Forest to having that dream crushed by an impersonal termination email, his story is one of both devastation and strength. But this isn’t just about one job. It’s about mass layoffs, political recklessness, and the devastating mental and financial toll of being cast aside by a broken system.
We dive deep into the real cost of these injustices: the fight to reclaim identity and purpose and the bureaucratic nightmare of standing up against corruption. But through it all, there’s hope. Ben’s story serves as a reminder that when the system fails us, we still have a choice—to fight back, to demand accountability, and to stand on the right side of history.
If you’ve ever felt powerless in the face of injustice, this conversation will ignite something in you. It’s time to listen, learn, and take action.

I know first hand the struggles that many women face in order to fit society's standard of beauty. Starting as young as elementary school many girls begin diets, take pills, and create unhealthy habits all in order to lose weight. Unfortunately these habits follow us into adulthood and can have a lasting effect on our health as we age. I’m thrilled for you to hear this episode's guest Christina Watkins.
Christina Watkins is a health coach and wellness expert who like many of us has struggled with her weight in the past. Christina felt the pressure to lose weight from a young age. From taking diet pills, doing meal replacement shakes, and pushing herself to the brink in workouts. She learned these unhealthy habits become a cycle, one that proved to negatively affect her health in the years to come.
On today's episode Christina will talk about her past experience with weight loss. Her coaching method will not only help people lose weight but can also help with better sleep, feel rejuvenated, and a healthy way of life. I learned so much in this episode and am excited for my listeners to learn just as much as I did from the wonderful Christina Watkins, and if you'd like to learn more give christina a follow on her instagram @thewellnessconcierges.

As we approach Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m honored to sit down with Dr. Paul Corona—a trailblazing physician, author, and fierce advocate for mental wellness—whose mission is to transform how we understand and treat mental health. With over 30 years of experience bridging psychiatry and family medicine, Dr. Corona shares his remarkable journey, from being nicknamed “Dr. Paul” as a five-year-old with a toy medical kit to becoming a leading voice in integrative mental health care. He brings to light the vital connection between our minds and bodies, and why true healing must treat both. His newest book, The Corona Protocol, offers a bold, scientifically grounded approach to tackling some of society’s most pressing issues, including addiction, bullying, homelessness, school shootings, and suicide.
We talk candidly about the science behind emotional struggles and why mental illness is not a matter of willpower. Dr. Corona explains how trauma, hormones, and genetics shape brain chemistry, and why it’s time to let go of outdated fears around medication. We also have a raw and emotional conversation about losing a child to suicide—and what we must do better as a society to support one another before it’s too late.
This episode also explores the impact of technology and the mental health aftermath of the pandemic on today’s youth. Dr. Corona offers insight for parents navigating anxiety, depression, and ADHD in their children, while highlighting how healing can be affordable, accessible, and rooted in listening and compassion.

11 Oct 2022 | The Dangers of gateway drugs - Protect Your kids from the Fentanyl Epidemic | Learn From a Mother’s Tragedy with Michelle Leopold (Revisited) | 01:06:08
Today is probably the most important episode I have ever recorded. Michelle Leopold was a mom living her normal life until the most horrifying thing happened to her family - the death of her son, Trevor.
She tells the story of this handsome, outgoing, loved teenager who started out by smoking pot. This didn't alarm her until she realized that the pot we smoked when we were younger is much different than what is sold today. This was his gateway drug to what ultimately killed him.
We learn about how fentanyl is added to street pills to get a bigger high. The CDC estimates that 2 out of 5 street pills include fentanyl that the user doesn't even realize is there.
Michelle shares the story of Trevor’s passing at just 19. She is determined to educate every parent of the dangers of how easily these pills can be accessed. One pill taken and his life was over. Michelle says that she keeps going determined to live in Trevor’s memory and help others.

08 Feb 2022 | Clinically Dead Multiple Times: How Intermittent Fasting Saved Fred Rutman | 01:00:05
My guest, Fred Rutman, started intermittent fasting after several health scares to heal his body. The research he had found dealt with metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance, which is when you have too much insulin floating in your system. Once that gets out of whack, so many of your other hormones get out of whack, including your leptin and your ghrelin, which is your satiety and hunger signals, your estrogen, your testosterone, your adrenaline, your growth hormones, and more. It's a domino effect. When you begin fasting, you give your digestive system a chance to calm down and get rid of some inflammation, which leads to a lot of your other hormones falling into place. He has seen people who IF get rid of their thyroid problems, get rid of their type two diabetes, get rid of sleep apnea, get rid of asthma, and the list goes on and on and on. We discuss the basics of intermittent fasting and how it can be implemented in most anyone's life. Today, I am talking again to the most amazing therapist on the planet. Dr. Nadine Macaluso has put up with me for many years and all of my issues, and I credit her for helping save me.
In this episode, we talk about several topics including. the tragic passing of Chelsea Christ. Chelsea took her own life at just 30 years of age. She was Miss USA 2019, an Attorney and Reporter with “Extra.” We discuss how many people suffer from depression and suffer silently. We also discuss the new A&E docu series, “The Secrets of Playboy.” Many women were lured into this flashy life, only to find themselves victims of the alleged monster, Hugh Hefner.
