Israeli spokesman Eylon Levy has been the global media’s #1 address for understanding Israel’s perspective in the October 7 War with Hamas. In the brand-new State of a Nation podcast, Eylon brings his idiosyncratic blend of “eloquence and ability to transmit outrage” (The Times) and “rhetorical tour de force” (The Guardian) to his exclusive channel, to explore the most pressing questions facing the Jewish state – and all with patience and panache.

Israel: State of a Nation takes you into the spokesperson’s briefing notes, delving into the real stories and their surprising details. The series invites listeners into insider conversations with thinkers, policymakers, and media personalities — conversations that take you between the lines and beyond the headlines.

18 Mar 2024Ecstasy and Amnesia | Shany Mor on how the Arab World deludes itself into endless repetitions of tragedy00:41:38

Send us a text

In this episode, Eylon Levy is joined by Dr. Shany Mor to discuss a recurring pattern in Arab history, which sees the launching of a war against Israel accompanied by intense jubilation and excitement.

The terrible defeat which then follows, time after time, prompts the immediate adoption of a victim narrative, and, most concerningly, a total re-writing of history: forgetting why there was a war in the first place, and clearing the slate for the next attack. Without lessons learned, can we ever break free of this vicious cycle of ecstasy and amnesia?

Elon Gold: the Leonard Cohen of the October 7 war, a title he vehemently rejects and, well, we don’t disagree.

In this special unfunny Purim episode, Eylon & Elon sit down for a cringey pre-game discussion (Elon had an actual comedy show to get to) about the Jewish ability to make jokes in dark times, the differences between Israeli humor and Jewish humor, and a competition on who can interrupt the other more: Eylon or his guest.

Elon also test-drives his Douglas Murray impersonation alongside his seasoned Trump impression which needs no prompting.

02 Apr 2024From Intersectionality to Jihad | Rep. Ritchie Torres on how BDS Perverted The Progressive Cause00:31:03

Send us a text

US Representative Ritchie Torres could easily be a multiple card carrying member of the intersectional Left: a gay Afro-Latino son on a Puerto Rican father, he grew up in public housing in the Bronx, the very Borough he now represents in Congress.

Yet Representative Torres is one of the most poignant critics of this corrosive movement that has taken over larges swathes of the Democratic Party, and consistently and proudly takes its proponents to task for their hypocrisy and antisemitism.

Torres has an impressive track record of fighting corruption and the economic exploitation or workers. He is a vocal and unequivocal supporter of American Jewry and of Israel.

Eylon was invited to give the keynote address, and while there, he took the opportunity to engage in a discussion with three distinguished student leaders—Charlie Covit from Harvard University, Talia Dror from Cornell, and Maya Makarovsky from MIT. Their conversation delved into the current state of Jewish life on campuses enthralled with identity politics, and the concerning associated trend: the demonization of Israel and Jews.

12 Apr 2024Manufacturing Contempt | Melanie Phillips on UK Media's Anti-Israel Bias and Outright Lies00:33:37

Send us a text

Why does the media seem so hostile to basic facts about Israel?

UK journalist and author Melanie Phillips has spent decades among the top echelons of British Press, writing for The Guardian, The Times and the New Statesman, and she’s been calling out mainstream media bias against Israel long before October 7.

But the PR war that Israel is battling isn’t just hurt by media bias; the onus is also on Israel to dispute a propagandist narrative, and call out lies when it hears them.

Melanie Phillips makes the case that Israel and its supporters need to do far more to win the hearts and minds of ordinary, decent people who will otherwise support the side they’re being told is moral and just.

16 Apr 2024A Third Lebanon War? | Miri Eisin on the Risk of War with Hezbollah and Iran00:59:03

Send us a text

Somewhat overshadowed by the Gaza war, Hezbollah has been consistently firing rockets at Israeli towns since October 7, forcing the mass evacuation of more than 60,000 Israeli civilians, and a no-man’s-land security perimeter inside Israeli territory.

So far, Hezbollah’s aggression has not broken out into a larger war. But Israel now faces a strategic and moral problem. Will it be forced into a full-scale escalation in Lebanon before it can send its citizens home and its children to school? Or is there a chance of a diplomatic solution?
Miri Eisin, a retired IDF colonel, expert in military intelligence, and government spokesperson during the Second Lebanon War answers this question. She’s spent the last few years mapping out this scenario and its consequences.
In a difficult and frank conversation, Miri outlines the genuine dilemmas Israeli leadership faces in the days ahead, what ordinary Israelis should anticipate, and how they can prepare.

29 Apr 2024True Grit | How Lahav Deri and His Brothers Survived the Nova Festival Massacre, and Went on to Fight Another Day00:56:46

Send us a text

October 7 was the moment the music died. Rockets in the sky, death squads on their way. Hamas’ invasion of Israel had begun. The partygoers at the Nova Music Festival, a trance party just five kilometers from the Gaza Strip, were sitting ducks. Terrorists gunned them down as they fled for their lives, burned people alive in their cars as they tried to escape, and lobbed grenades into concrete shelters to blow them limb from limb. Unknown numbers were r*ped, even gang r*ped in the most horrific of conditions. By the time the massacre was over, 379 people had been slaughtered including 15 police officers. And another forty-one were abducted, taken into the Gaza Strip — more than 33 are still trapped there, six months later.

Lahav Deri escaped by the skin of his teeth. He was at the festival with his two younger brothers, who also survived — one of them, only just. And when he got home, battered and bruised, he did the most Israeli thing possible — he grabbed his gun and went to help his reserves unit, still battling terrorists committing massacres across the country’s south.

29 Apr 2024Speaking Truth to Power | Suella Braverman Slaps Down Iran-Sponsored Terror Networks00:51:29

Send us a text

Iran’s massive, unprecedented missile and drone attack on April 13 was a game changer. Iran had spent decades in the shadows working to arm and deploy a global network of terrorists and militias. On April 13, it stepped out of the shadows, putting its true murderous intent on display for the world to see.

The right honourable Suella Braverman was the British Home Secretary when the Iran-sponsored October 7 Massacre happened.

She joins Eylon Levy on State of a Nation during a special personal solidarity visit to bear witness to the horrors of 10/7. To dive into how the UK’s intelligence services are battling Iranian attacks on Britain’s own soil and how the IRGC is trying to undermine the institutions of the West.

06 May 2024In Living Memory - Dr. Arnold Clevs Recounts His Unforgettable Story of Surviving The Holocaust01:09:16

Send us a text

This Yom HaShoah bears a special significance in the history of the Jewish people. In the wake of the single deadliest day for Jews since the Shoah, October 7th looms as an ominous reminder that Jews must remember their past to ensure it does not repeat.

In this Remembrance Day special episode of State of a Nation, we are fortunate enough to hear the living testimony of man who experienced first-hand the depths of human depravity.

Dr Arnold Clevs recounts the harrowing details of his numerous brushes with death, and miraculous survival, as a child navigating the unimaginable horrors of 11 Nazi concentration camps,  and how ultimately, at the age of 87, he was able to make aliyah to join his people, who, like him, survived near annihilation and went on to thrive in their homeland, Israel.

This is story of survival and tenacity, a testimony of kinship of the Jewish people even in their darkest of hours.

This Yom HaShoah it is more critical than ever that the stories of those survivors that are still with us be recorded for posterity for all time, lest we forget the lessons of the past and be doomed to repeat them.

16 May 2024The Special Relationship | Should Israel Break Free? Amb. Michael Oren's Inside View of US-Israel Diplomacy00:56:53

Send us a text

The United States’ support for Israel was considered, to use a phrase of President Biden, ironclad. But that has been thrown into question by the US administration’s historic decision to suspend a delivery of weapons to Israel in order to pressure it not to wage a major offensive against Hamas in Rafah. The announcement sounded alarm bells about the nature of the US-Israel alliance. About Israel’s strategic dependence on Washington and what Israel needs to do to maintain its military independence.

Michael Oren was Israel’s ambassador to Washington in 2009-2013, before a stint in the Knesset as a deputy minister in the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.  He is an acclaimed historian, and author of New York Times bestselling books about the history of America’s involvement in the Middle East and the Six-Day War. As an American-born Israeli, he straddles both worlds looking to find productive ways to move the alliance ever forward.

This episode was recorded before the Biden Administration’s bombshell announcement, but that only makes our discussion more timely.

Student radicals protesting on campuses around the world, Israel condemned for everything that’s wrong with the world. I hope you’re having deja-vu. The massive anti-Israel protest movement didn’t come out of nowhere, and its accusations against the Jewish state are nothing new. They have deep roots. And for that, we have to go back to Soviet Russia, to see how the USSR planted the seeds of the ideological movement that has captured Western campuses and is weaponizing them against the Jews.

Izabella Tabarovsky is a Senior Program Associate at the Kennan Institute of the Wilson Center and a contributing writer at Tablet Magazine. She’s one of the world’s leading experts on Soviet anti-Zionism, contemporary left-wing anti-Semitism, and what connects them.

Izabella takes us through the history of ideas that has led to where we find ourselves today. She shows us that nothing being presented by today’s cosplaying student radicals in the global Tentifada are new or fresh. Rather, they link back to a lengthy history of anti-semitic tropes that have served the interests of Israel’s staunchest and most powerful enemies throughout time.

29 May 2024GIVE ME BACK MY SON | Hostage Father's Urgent Plea01:13:49

Send us a text

It’s been eight months since the October 7 Massacre, and still the residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz, a mile away from Gaza, have not had time to mourn. This tight-knit community was the hardest hit, with over a quarter of its people massacred or abducted on October 7.

Professor. Jonathan Dekel-Chen and his family were residents of Kibbutz Nir-Oz. He wasn’t at home that gruesome weekend. But his son Sagui Dekel-Chen, 35, a US-Israeli citizen, was taken hostage as he fought to hold back the terrorist invasion. Jonathan is fighting for his son’s freedom, and that of all remaining hostages. In this brutally frank and open conversation Jonathan doesn’t hold back, demanding of the Israeli government: BRING THEM HOME. While demanding world governments to pressure Hamas to LET THEM GO.

This conversation pulls no punches and takes a stark and uncomfortable look at where we stand today as a people. It is painful to listen to and contains graphic descriptions of the atrocities of October 7. But we can’t let the world forget what happened, and we can’t let it forget the hostages rotting in Hamas captivity. You should feel uncomfortable. Because none of us are free, until all of them are free.

There is little doubt that Israel is losing the global battle for the hearts and minds of Gen Z. From US campuses to the streets of London and Amsterdam, the young people of the West are increasingly siding with the death squads of Hamas. And if it’s not some passing radical phase, cosplaying revolutionaries.

With increasing numbers chanting for the destruction of Israel, the need for advocates to tell the real story is critical. To show the journey of strength and resilience in a country facing an enemy that seeks only death and destruction. To highlight the amazing work and battles being fought by our own young people, the Gen Zionists are waking up and fighting back.

Montana Tucker, influencer singer, songwriter, actress and dancer, using her incredible reach to 14 million followers to speak up for her people. The Granddaughter of Holocaust survivors and a fierce advocate for Israel, especially since October 7. Having visited Israel to bear witness in the wake of the massacre, Montana returned to Israel in a show of solidarity with the country she loves.

05 Jun 2024Freedom is a Burden | Bernard-Henri Lévy on what Ails The West, and the Courage We Need To Save Liberty00:52:12

Send us a text

Bernard Henri Levy, or BHL, is a French philosopher, journalist, filmmaker, and public intellectual. He’s a leading member of the Nouveaux Philosophes movement, but not up in an ivory tower, traveling to warzones to bear witness and write history. His latest book, Solitude of Israel, is set for release in English later this year, reflecting on thoughts that have troubled him since October 7.

When Hamas shocked the world with the October 7 Massacre, Israel felt embraced as never before. World leaders flew in to bear witness and express solidarity. Parliament buildings lit up in the colors of the Israeli flag. Israelis thought - that’s it, this time the world gets it and will back us as we fight for humanity against Hamas, as we fight to bring the hostages home. That optimism has given way to a sense of betrayal. The knowledge that the world wants to end this war with Hamas on its feet - and undermining Israel’s leverage to get the hostages back. SOLITUDE is Israel’s condition, but must it be its fate?

10 Jun 2024Debating Israel | Internet sensation Destiny on how the conflict takes shape online00:46:37

Send us a text

Hamas is waging two wars against Israel. There is a physical war and there is an information war, which is no less important. Because Hamas has been waging a brutal psyops campaign against Israel, spreading lie by lie to poison global public opinion against Israel. And that information war is designed to make Israel’s friends turn against it, fracture its alliances, and leave it weaker and more isolated on the global stage. And with misinformation running rampant across the internet, now is more important than ever to nail down the facts.

Steven Bonnell II, better known as Destiny, is an online professional gamer turned political commentator. A man who has leveraged his following and passion for research into a career debating politics on the internet. He is here in Israel for the first time, here to learn, here to be challenged, and in this episode we sit down for a fast-paced conversation about why it’s so easy for Hamas to game public opinion.

14 Jun 2024The NGO Racket: Lawfare, Newspeak, and Corruption | Prof. Gerald Steinberg's NGO Monitor exposes the seedy underbelly of "Human Rights Organizations"00:55:24

Send us a text

Since October 7, Israel has been saying it’s fighting FOR humanity, on the frontlines of humanity, but in the information war—Israel’s own humanity is being called into question. And that charge is being led by NGOs with ideological agendas that pass themselves off as great defenders of humanity, with names like Save the Children, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International. They have been active combatants in the information war against Israel. Amplifying some of the worst lies and propaganda against Israel. Failing to stand up for the victims of Oct. 7th. Failing to fight from the hostages. Even allegedly taking funding from the Saudis and Qataris.

Today’s guest is pushing back. Because if sunlight is the best disinfectant, then shedding light on these NGOs’ funding and practices should expose all the dirt. Professor Gerald Steinberg, founder and president of NGO Monitor, has spent his life challenging the global system of anti-Israel NGOs. NGO Monitor has worked for years to hold the watchdogs accountable and warn Israel’s supporters of the damage that they are doing by abusing the banner of human rights. Israel is losing the information war, thanks to the political activities of these NGOs. What can it do to turn the tide?

20 Jun 2024The Power of Satire | Daniel-Ryan Spaulding's FABULOUS videos don't just mock, they de-indoctrinate00:39:40

Send us a text

Comedian Daniel-Ryan Spaulding was living in the heart of Berlin's libertine arts and culture crowd, when a chance encounter with some Israelis, and ensuing visits to the country transformed everything he had come to believe about Israel.

He was back in NYC on Oct 7, and as the details of the Hamas's horrific invasion unfolded, he realized he had found a new calling.  As a self described Power Gay, Daniel took on the mission of communicating the truth about Israel and the erupting war of civilizations to the queer world and beyond.

Drawing on his personal experiences, his education, a healthy dose common sense, and the rarest of human traits -  bravery - Daniel began posting selfie videos that exposed the hypocrisy and ignorance he witnessed all around him.

The videos became a international viral sensation, and his excoriating, withering put downs of those celebrating Hamas atrocities forced liberals around the world to realize:  if you support liberation and equality against violence and oppression, Israel’s fight is your fight.

25 Jun 2024I Could Have Been a Houthi | Luai Ahmed escaped Islamist Yemen to become a pro-Israel peace advocate00:55:44

Send us a text

Luai Ahmed was raised in the most fundamentalist Islamist culture in Yemen, where hatred of Jews, gays, and Kafirs was not only preached, but practiced.  When he realized that he himself was gay, he had to plot an escape.

In this riveting interview, Ahmed recounts his extraordinary journey from his upbringing in Yemen where he was inches from becoming a Houthi himself, and the ideas beliefs his family and friends still hold, to his new life as an advocate for peace and understanding in Sweden.

He describes the shock and fear of meeting a Jew for the first time, the realities of Sweden's refugee camps as Islamists indoctrination mills, the tragedy and perversion of Sweden's support in the Middle East, and much more.

He is fierce critic of Europe's simplistic approach to multiculturalism and immigration, with a unique perspective on the challenges of integration, and the dangers of domestic radicalization.  He eloquently points out the hypocrisy in Western media and political discourse, where issues like the persecution of Jews in Malmö by immigrants are underreported or ignored due to fears of being labeled racist.

Ahmed calls for more balanced and honest discussions about these issues to foster a more inclusive and understanding society, and today he fights alongside Israeli friends for democracy, human rights, and a peaceful future for our region—an activist in the “Builders of the Middle East” movement on social media.

03 Jul 2024Violence Pays - The 1936 Arab "Revolt" | Oren Kessler on what the FIRST First Intifada taught the Arabs00:56:06

Send us a text

Hamas supporters' favorite equivocation is "History didn't start on Oct 7".  While cynical and sinster in its intent, this statement is, of course, technically true. But a closer examination of the full history of the conflict, only further exposes the violent Islamist culture at the root of it.

For this discussion we are joined by Oren Kessler, a journalist, political analyst, and author of the acclaimed book Palestine 1936, recently awarded the Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature. His book explores the much-forgotten Arab Revolt of 1936-1939, a violent uprising against the British Mandate and Jewish immigration that you might even call the real first intifada.

What has changed since then? What hasn’t? And how do the dynamics of the Arab war against any Jewish presence in this land, way back in 1936, still reverberate in the Middle East today?

In this conversation, we'll discuss Israel's withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, the Oslo Accords, the Six Day War of 1967, and the Arab rebellion of 1936-1939 — a pivotal but often overlooked period of violent upheaval against British rule and Jewish immigration.

Join us as Eylon Levy and Oren Kessler unravel how the echoes of past conflicts continue to reverberate in the Middle East today. Gain insights into the untold stories and historical truths that shape the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Don't miss this enlightening discussion on the "Israel: State of the Nation."

24 Jul 2024Can Left-Wing Zionism Survive Oct 7? | Fania Oz-Salzberger on the Israeli Left's vision00:49:12

Send us a text

What’s left of the Israeli left, and what direction will it take now in a post-October 7 world? The Israeli Left, to put it lightly, is in crisis. One of those left-wing figures under attack for speaking up for Israel is Fania Oz-Salzberger, a renowned historian, writer, and history professor. Daughter of the stalwart of the early Israeli left, writer Amos Oz, Fania believes that the Zionist left still holds the keys to peace with our Palestinian neighbors.

Fania discusses her optimism rooted in her kibbutz education and resilience despite the challenges facing Israeli society. She believes that hope is a vital force, particularly in facing adversity. She describes the divisiveness in Israeli society as an illness. She emphasizes the importance of the Zionist left's role in pushing forward towards peace and a two-state solution. Despite the setbacks, including the October 7th attacks by Hamas, she remains committed to this pragmatic vision.

She criticizes both Hamas and Israeli policies that she believes have hindered the two-state solution. Salzberger advocates for a renewed effort towards peace, involving international and regional cooperation, and stresses the need for a political horizon to de-radicalize both Israeli and Palestinian societies.

Salzberger addresses the anti-Zionist left and the challenges posed by their views, emphasizing the importance of a moderate, pragmatic approach to Zionism that balances security with humanism. She also discusses the academic and social challenges faced by pro-Israel voices in the current global climate.

Throughout the interview, she underscores the need for nuanced, informed discussions and the importance of maintaining Israel's right to exist and defend itself while striving for a peaceful resolution with the Palestinians.

05 Aug 2024The False Estate | Lahav Harkov on why the media loves to hate Israel01:11:04

Send us a text

Lahav Harkov, a Senior Political Correspondent for Jewish Insider, shares with Eylon Levy the complexities of media coverage during Israel's ongoing conflict. The discussion covers a wide range of topics, including the international media's obsession with Israel, the challenges Israel faces in the information war, and the unique aspects of the Israeli and international media landscapes.

Harkov offers insights on why the international media seems to focus disproportionately on Israel, often in a critical light, while larger conflicts around the world receive far less attention, if at all. She also addresses the organizational differences between Israeli and Palestinian messaging strategies, with Palestinians appearing more unified in their approach. The conversation touches on the role of journalists in Israel, the skepticism often applied to Israeli sources, and the perceived biases within major news outlets like The New York Times, BBC, CNN, and others.

This episode provides an in-depth look at the struggles Israel faces in shaping global perceptions during the war and highlights the challenges of maintaining journalistic integrity in a complex and often biased media environment.

02 Aug 2024Israelophobia | Jake Wallis Simons on the New Face of Antisemitism and the Battle for Western Values00:51:56

Send us a text

Jake Wallis Simons, editor of The Jewish Chronicle and author of the prescient 2023 book Israelophobia, sits down with Eylon for a deep dive into the latest incarnation of the world's oldest hatred.  Simons breaks down the obsessive hatred of Israel, and the Anti-Semitism that it masks, and traces the evolution of Jew hatred from religious to racial, and now to political forms.

The conversation covers the rise of anti-Israel sentiment, particularly among younger generations in the UK, influenced heavily by social media and radical ideologies. Simons expresses concern over the complacency of Western societies, particularly in Britain, where anti-Israel protests have become increasingly prominent. He warns of the dangers of this complacency, suggesting that the West could face serious challenges if it fails to defend its values against growing external threats from countries like Iran, Russia, and China.

Simons also discusses the potential implications of a Labour government in the UK under Sir Keir Starmer, particularly regarding UK-Israel relations, and the possibility of diplomatic crises arising from Labour's stance on Israel and Palestine. The episode concludes with a game where Simons critiques prominent figures known for their anti-Israel rhetoric, highlighting the impact of their views on public opinion.

This episode provides a deep dive into the intersection of anti-Semitism, politics, and media, offering insights into the challenges facing Israel and the broader implications for Western democracies.

Leah also reflects on the impact of the October 7th massacre, which led to hundreds of new hostages, and how her family has worked tirelessly to support other affected families. Join us as Leah calls on the international community to take action and explains what each of us can do to help bring all the hostages home.

The story of Hadar Goldin serves as a cautionary tale for anyone sufficiently naive enough to think a terrorist army would respect a ceasefire.

Please watch, share, and support the fight to free the hostages.

18 Sep 2024“If Jews were slaughtered, Arabs wouldn’t care” | Rawan Osman, Syrian Activist01:16:20

Send us a text

“If you were all slaughtered the Arab world couldn't care less and yet The Western media outlets celebrated Haniyeh as a peace loving dove” - so says today’s guest Syrian activist, Rawan Osman. Rawan was born in Damascus, to a mixed Sunni-Shiite family.

She came to Germany and encountered a relatively liberal, free society, describes herself as a “recovered antisemite” and when she came to Israel saw everyone of different shapes, sizes and colors, concluding this is a nation to learn from. Having only met Jewish people for the first time while living in Strasbourg in the city's Jewish quarter. These encounters forced her to reckon with the antisemitism she had been taught growing up.

Rawan came to Israel not only to learn but also to make a bit of a rebellious statement. “Once you’ve come as an Arab to Israel, you’ve crossed all the red lines”.

28 Oct 2024State Secrets | Peter Berkowitz on How Foreign Policy Is (Un)Made Inside the State Dept00:56:57

Send us a text

Peter Berkowitz, former Director of Policy Planning at the US Department of State, offers a candid, insider’s view of how U.S. foreign policy is shaped and often hindered by entrenched bureaucratic dynamics. In this interview, filmed at the Hudson institute in Washington D.C., Eylon Levy and Berkowitz reflect on the global implications of the October 7th Hamas attack and critiques the failure of Western diplomacy to adequately respond to the Iranian-backed threat. He discusses the ideological divides within the State Department, the persistence of flawed policies like the two-state solution, and the limitations of diplomatic engagement with Iran. Berkowitz also highlights the West’s dangerous complacency regarding Iran’s influence in the Middle East and how U.S. foreign policy could be reoriented to more effectively support Israel and deter regional adversaries. This conversation sheds light on the complexities of decision-making in Washington and the broader challenges facing international relations.

Many beauty queens dream of world peace, but few literally go out and do it. Noa Cochva was crowned Miss Israel 2021 and represented Israel at Miss Universe 2021, yet just a couple of years later she found herself in uniform again fighting for Israel in the wake of the horrors of the October 7th massacre.

When it comes to fighting for Israel, Noa knows what it means to be on the front lines and now also serves as an activist for the country, taking to the streets of America, where she has been pummeled by protestors and threatened at knife point, just for the crime of standing up for Israel. What is going on in Lebanon today? We speak with a man who has been on the ground in south Lebanon, and has seen with his own eyes the terrifying infrastructure Hezbollah has built there. With entire villages set up to hide the terror army’s military assets, the IDF is now forced to go house-to-house, tree-to-tree to find the whole city blocks that were built underneath.

Major (Res.) Doron Spielman has spent decades working in the IDF spokespersons’ office, helping the world to understand how the IDF operates. He describes in detail what he saw with his own eyes. He and Eylon sit for an in-depth conversation detailing how Hezbollah have been planning a full-blown invasion into Israel’s north.

26 Nov 2024“I was preparing myself to die” - Hostage Speaks on the Anniversary of Her Release01:05:52

Send us a text

[A warning to listeners this episode contains content that some may find distressing]

One year ago, Aviva Siegel, a U.S. citizen, was held captive in Gaza for 51 days before her release under a week-long agreement last November. Her husband, Keith Siegel, 65, remains in captivity. Since gaining her freedom, Aviva has become a tireless advocate, working to keep attention on her husband’s situation and urging international leaders to secure his release. Her journey now embodies resilience and public activism as she balances supporting her family with her relentless campaign on Keith’s behalf.

Eylon sits down with Aviva to discuss her time in captivity, the return of Keith, what life has been like in the year since release and how the US and Israel can fight for the return of hostages. 02 Dec 2024“Most beautiful decolonialist project in human history” - Brianna Wu Calls Out US Progressives00:46:48

Send us a text

In the wake of October 7th the battle lines were drawn not just in the Middle East, but around the world. And while many progressives decided to pin their flag to Hamas, there were those that realized a terror army committing atrocities wasn’t the cause they wanted to fight for.

Eylon sits down with Brianna Wu, the Executive Director of Rebellion Pac, a software developer and Democratic political operative. Trans activist, queer, progressive and in a minority among her circles as a friend of Israel.

Together they discuss the growing madness of progressive causes rooting for the violence and hatred of Hamas. The Queers for Palestine movement and how people can root for a movement that wishes them dead. And the war being battled online for the hearts and minds of the next generation of Americans.

Send us a text

Since 1997, Rabbi Hirschy Zarchi has been the founder and head of the Chabad house at Harvard University, one of the largest Chabad campus operations in the United States.

In the aftermath of the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, Zarchi and investor Bill Ackman organized a showing of Bearing Witness, which showed scenes of extreme violence recorded during and after the incursion, on the Harvard campus. The showing was the first campus audience to view the film.

Eylon sits down with Rabbi Zarchi to discuss the ongoing issues faced by Jews on Harvard campus, Zarchi’s criticism of Harvard's stance on antisemitism and described "an atmosphere of fear for Jewish students" while speaking in front of Harvard president Claudine Gay and that Harvard does not allow Chabad to keep a menorah displayed overnight due to fears of vandalism.

16 Dec 2024Empowering Palestinian Moderates | Yardena Schwartz on the Lessons of History00:58:20

Send us a text

The history of modern Israel is so often linked to the founding of the state in 1948. Failing to consider the pre-history of a conflict that many would argue kicked off in force with the Hebron Massacre of 1929.

Yardena Schwartz has had an esteemed career as an award-winning journalist and Emmy-nominated producer and is now the author of Ghosts of a Holy War: The 1929 Massacre in Palestine That Ignited the Arab-Israeli Conflict. A seminal look at the conflict that began what is now almost one hundred years of unending war.

Eylon sits down with Yardena for a wide-ranging discussion on the history of this region and how the repercussions of a century-old conflict are still very much being felt today.

19 Dec 2024Debunking Hamas’ Lies on Gaza Death Toll with Military Expert Andrew Fox01:13:53

Send us a text

How do you count the dead in Gaza? And really when we’re talking about tens of thousands killed does a miscount here or there really make such a difference? The answer is yes, when that misinformation is used to accuse the IDF of purposefully targeting civilians and committing genocide.

Andrew Fox has led the latest report by the Henry Jackson Society, Questionable Counting: Analysing The Death Toll From The Hamas-Run Ministry Of Health In Gaza

https://henryjacksonsociety.org/publications/questionable-counting/

An in-depth analysis of the active misrepresentation of deaths by Hamas and how these numbers are weaponized by international organisations to make false claims against Israel on the global stage.

Andrew is an experienced combat veteran, who served in the British Army from 2005 to 2021, completing three tours in Afghanistan, including one attached to the US Army Special Forces. He served in the Parachute Regiment and the Special Forces Support Group, with additional tours in Bosnia, the Middle East, and Northern Ireland.

23 Dec 2024Tsunami of Antisemitism | Israel’s Special Envoy for Combatting Antisemitism Michal Cotler-Wunsh00:53:57

Send us a text

The Jewish world, both in Israel and globally, has encountered a surge of antisemitism. Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Israel's special envoy for combating antisemitism, is uniquely positioned to shed light on this pressing issue. She assumed this role just weeks before the tragic October 7 Hamas attack.

A former Knesset member with the Blue and White party, Cotler-Wunsh is an authority in international human rights law, specializing in freedom of speech, civil liberties, and multiculturalism. Before stepping into her current diplomatic position, she served as a research fellow at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism and was involved in high-profile advocacy efforts, including campaigns for the return of fallen Israeli soldiers.

In her role, Cotler-Wunsh travels extensively, engaging with global antisemitism envoys, policymakers, and Jewish leaders to advocate for robust international strategies against rising antisemitism. Guided by her personal experience and insights from her father, former Canadian Justice Minister Irwin Cotler, she underscores the intrinsic connection between Israel’s security and the well-being of Jewish communities worldwide. Deeply committed to preserving the continuity of the Jewish people, she views this moment as a pivotal opportunity to address the challenges faced by Jewish communities in an increasingly divided world.

25 Feb 2025Hamas’ Sponsors Exposed | Iran, Qatar & the War Beyond Gaza01:15:58

Send us a text

Everyone wants to know: What will it take to defeat Hamas once and for all?

In this episode of Israel: State of a Nation, Eylon Levy sits down with Michael Doran, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and former U.S. National Security Council official, to break down the bigger war beyond Gaza—and what it will take to end Hamas for good.

Doran argues that Hamas is just a pawn in Iran’s larger war against Israel, and that Tehran is the true mastermind keeping the terror group alive. But is Iran really the key to victory, or do Hamas’s other patrons—Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt—also bear responsibility?

Key topics covered:
🔹 How to take down Hamas—what’s the real strategy for ending this war?
🔹 Iran’s role in the war—does cutting off Tehran mean the collapse of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis?
🔹 Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt—How much power do they really have over Hamas?
🔹 The seven-front war—can Israel afford to focus on one enemy, or is every front a potential disaster?
🔹 What happens if Hamas survives?—the stakes of failing to finish the job.
