05 Sep 2018 | 25: The Reset Rebel talks sobriety with Laura Reynolds | 01:19:39
Todays guest is a good friend of the show and definitely fits our definition of an Ibiza RESET REBEL. She possibly also deserves a gold medal for maximum RESETS!
Hathor creator and all around legend that is Laura Reynolds does not work in wellness - yet.
What is she ON? People may well have asked this before now, but the truth is, right now, it is a very sobering path. A lonely One. A tough one. And One not many others are buying into on the white isle.
So hats off to Laura and the charity work she has put in so far for NACOA. She is returning to her completely stone cold path after giving up the booze for 6 months late last year but briefly got back ON IT for two months recently.
The result? An absolute nightmare for her and a place where she wished once more to reset herself and path in life and choices she was making.
So in a bold move, I have decided to join her and we are launching a Support group in Ibiza to help other through their isms and truely Raise the Bar on the island for those who wish to join us.
Whether that be addictions to booze, drugs, food, anything, we will be meeting weekly to welcome anyone who wishes to swing by and lend an ear and just have a good old sunday Session with our new Project to help and inspire others and keep ourselves in check!
All details are on our www.theresetrebel.com website and on the new FB community page : https://www.facebook.com/raisethebaribiza/

02 Oct 2018 | 29: The Reset Rebel talk 5 Rhythms, dance and meditation with Chris Connors | 01:13:04
Today our podcast hostess Jo Youle catches up with Island resident Christopher Connors on everything from his creation of meditation experience BeBox moments to his sharing of Gabrielle Roth's movement practice, 5 Rhythms.
From living in Ireland Chris got caught up in a Bomb in Belfast and took shelter in a music store and from popping on the headphones to hear a Cafe Del Mar album, in that moment, he was hooked and fully transported. For good.
Dance is what brought Chris the deep healing he needed from PTSD and living in ireland when the streets were full of tanks and danger was a constant.
He spent time in NYC with Gabrielle the 5 Rhythms founder and gives Jo lots of little nuggets of joy, but the pair chew the fat this week on stillness versus moving meditation and also discipline versus rebellion and how it is to live on a island full of Rebels.

The New Yorker famously started the very first juice bar on the island in Benirras called Sejuiced more then 13 years ago and was way ahead of the trend to bring Vegan food to the menus of Ibiza. Cliff came to the island as a traveller and party boy before "crashing and burning" big time. Through Recovery he completely changed his life, fell in Love and decided to put roots down for the first time after many years on the road and stay here to pour his passion into his healthy food and juice projects. He is now flourishing and resetting the path of many who walk through his cafe doors, with his iPurify cleanses and Vegan plates and creating a ethos that leans away from plastics and processed foods. Join us today as we hear his story to settle here on the island and re-create his path and entire lifestyle.

27 Nov 2018 | 35: The Reset Rebel meets The Around the Island Walkers | 01:06:02
In Today’s ReSet Rebel podcast one word springs to mind: Community. As the lovely @trewrussellbrand puts it - Our. Common. Unity. The sense of the friendships and support and love created on the Around the Island Walk w/ @walkingibiza over 250km is mind blowingly beautiful. It never gets OLD. It has been going for more than 5 years now and as creators of this RR project, we have been on this journey ourselves. All 252km of it. It is a life changing experience so to be able to offer a FREE space on it thanks to Toby Clarke of the walking outfit to charity, was the highlight of our 2018. Thank You Toby. You have no idea what the gift has meant to us ❤️ and to those who have experience the gifts we have given back with this year. #grateful Today we pop up to the camp fire on this 12 day adventure and meet our Hit and Run road accident Victim @lauralu.fit To hear her FULL story. To say this has been emotional for Laura is an understatement so pack the Kleenex for this listen this week. After being slammed into by a car and losing her ability to move we are so inspired to hear how she fought her way back to full fitness and went into Recovery. For some people that word means so much in this world. To Re-find what we once previously had and maybe didnt fully appreciate or value until it was gone. To Re-Gain and Re-Establish the way we were before something that came along to fuck us UP is Recovery. In so many cases it’s Usually ourselves, but in this case not. Laura lost her freedom because of Somebody else. Someone drunk driving. Battling back to health has been a huge and life changing experience for Laura and we are just honored to have been a part of it. 28 Dec 2018 | 39: The Reset Rebel meets - DAVID SYE TO TALK New years | 01:08:21
It is THAT time of year.....a time of RefLECTION. You know, the one where we move into a space where we ReEvaluate our year gone by and figure out what nest for us and how we are going to make some big changes and get focussed. It's also around about now usually when we realise the levels of the festivities have taken their toll and we start planning and plotting our Witness the Fitness campaign, with draconian measures like DRY JANUARIES, no carbs, coffee, wheat or sugar on the menu and head into our abstinence Phase as we try to get our skinny jeans back on. So we invited the chief celebrator of life, Yoga Beats creator and founder, Mr David Sye back on, to get a little perspective in his usual rebellious yoga ways about what we should really be doing in 2019 and the way we should treat ourselves. We asked him what his REsolutions are and how we can choose better what we wish for ourselves and and get clear on how our year ahead should look. You might not like what he has to say and you may definitely need some potty mouth ear plugs!! Join Jo Youle this week as she want to meet David on Boxing Day at SOHO's FAMOUS coffee and after hours establishment, Bar ITALIA. 08 Jul 2019 | 57: The Reset Rebel Meets OpenLab's Robert Miles | 00:41:17
After the sad passing of musician and composer Robert Miles more than two years ago, we wished to pay our respects, but also massive homage to a man we felt was a radio renegade.
As the founder of Openlab.fm, not only did Robert have a beautiful vision when he started the station - at a time when options were limited - to create an alternative place for us to rest our weary ears upon, but, he gave us hope. A hope for exactly the kind of scene we are starting to experience musically on the island now. Through nights like World Unplugged, SoFar Sounds and little impromtpu gigs from Nick Mulvey at La Paloma. Musically the island is opening up. Changing. We wished to unleash this audio, recorded By Jo Youle the presenter of this show in 2014 in Santa Gertrudis, to remind people what OpenLab.fm is about. Remember its roots, its soul and why even now, it still needs help to stay On Air. Robert is widely known for this track, Children, which exploded in 1996 on his album Dreamland. But his connection to the island through music was also linked to so many other aspects, like his creativity, his love of nature, architecture and design. We wanted to celebrate on this podcast the fact Openlab.fm is back on analogue and FM dial this summer in Ibiza, but also to let you know they need help to keep the dream alive. Please Pop onto their website and donate if you can to keep this incredible radio stations output and sound quality high and on air. www.openlab.fm Come follow us on Instagram @theresetrebel Revie us on iTunes if you like todays show.

14 Aug 2019 | 60: The Reset Rebel Ibiza meets island DJ Jon Sa Trinxa | 01:16:40
How to use music as meditation? The master of Ibiza's Balearic music scene, Jon Sa Trinxa, gives us his full story of finding the legendary beach shack back in the 80's that defined his 8 hour sets in front of that green Pier that anyone who loves ibiza has been to and been fixed by at one stage in the game over the years.
Is he a Reset Rebel? We feel so, as with most other venues cranking out beat infused sessions, Jon's soundtracks cured many a sore head and created a music revolution in ibiza that is still there to be witnessed when he plays on Mondays and Wednesdays. Pop down and hear what we are talking about in todays podcast, as after 25 years, Jon has this down to a fine art by now and if you're popping onto this island this summer - it's not to be missed. www.theresetrebel.com Insta: @theresetrebel Jon's FB Page : https://www.facebook.com/Jon-Sa-Trinxa-46946609989/ #ibiza #satrinxa #jonsatrinxa #dj #music #soundtrack #salinas

26 Nov 2019 | 68: The Reset Rebel meets Pie King and island Chef James Knight | 01:08:37
In Todays show Jo Youle goes to meet island chef, James Knight.
Be warned this is not a show for the feint hearted, but we love James and strongly suspect after hearing this episode you will too. Not only is he hilarious, but he is not one to conform and in our eyes fully qualifies as a Reset Rebel. Since moving to the island from London, he has created many incredible pop up dining events and magical culinary events for Le grande Bouffant, but he is not one to admit he has the magic formula: “Everything you do you should guess with confidence. Guess with confidence and you’re there.”
There is only pure LOVE for his passion and intent with his creativity and that is why we decided to take you on a journey into his Pie world and spend this hour in James' Kitchen for this podcast. He has also ditched the booze and as a chef in Ibiza, that is no small thing. What did he replace this with? You may well ask! “Instead of going to yogacise or Zumba, AA that’s my sport. It really is a beautiful community and a very non judgemental community. “
In todays humble pie talk, James is open adn honest about his journey to being booze free, which we admire and wished to share, but also a few of this little titbits of wisdom along the way: “If you spend all your life trying to be perfect, you’re just not going to enjoy it.”
If you hate swearing, are vegan or easily offended, todays show is NOT for you!! Please be warned!!! The next pop up dining event, THE SECRET SUPPER CLUB WITH JAMES IN IBIZA IS 07 DEC. At the close of week number two of Indian lockdown podcast hostess Jo Youle takes a walk to GuruKul - the place where she met Monty a year ago in Goa - Director of the documentary Magic Medicine about the trials of Psychosilibin on patients with depression in London.
On this sneaky lunchtime stroll she reflects about the impact of lockdown in India, where 1.3 billion are being held at home - some without even a lock on their door and for millions, creating a displacement as they battle to get back to their villages across the country. It felt right to introduce todays guest at this moment, Mirella Ingamells, who holds the stance of Strong not skinny for women, which first attracted Jo our podcast hostess to her instagram page, as she holds workout session for Ibiza residents in a bid to knock them physically into shape. What we are noticing from lockdown is that the only way though is to figh the daily mental ups and downs with strong workouts and if anyone does this best it is Mirella, a previous Sports model who has taken to the stage many times, to showcase the incredible physique she has cultivated through pure discipline and strength of will, determination and belief that she will reach her goals. 06 Aug 2020 | 78: The Reset Rebel Homeless edition | 00:32:50
Home.
We all spent a lot of time there during lockdown. Especially in Ibiza with Residents not even allowed out for a walk. But what did this mean for those without a home to go to? For those living on the streets? Those who has no access to sanitation a public bathrooms and refugee for the homeless closed down? In today’s episode we hear the story of Ricardo - an Italian 56 year old living and sleeping rough in Ibiza town. He has been for 6 years. But how was that in this time of Covid 19? We hear the full story from @247ibiza’s Lydie Hampson who has been cooking and looking out for those in her local community in the city since she moved here with her family. She has also documented the lives of those in Sa Penya - the “ghetto” of Ibiza and the roma Gipsys who reside there. Just what changed and how we can help during Covid for those sleeping rough is what we dived into in today’s show. There are many things we can do to help. Just making time and spreading that network of kindness is step one. Please follow us on instagram @theresetrebel Email us : justthegoodnewsplease@gmail.com
15 Aug 2020 | 79: The Reset Rebel meets Sandra Benbeniste from Ibiza Preservation | 00:49:45
What was the effect of Lockdown on Ibiza?
How much did the ecosystems of the island get to breathe a sigh of relief?
How were the farming industries affected?
The fishermen?
Is the Posedonia healthier now?
Is that why there are no jelly fish this year?
Are the environmentalists jumping for joy the clubs are closed this summer?
These are all questions that you may have been pondering since the “new normal” emerged on ibiza.
We don’t have all the answers but we attempted to tackle the big issues on this episode of the Reset Rebel, as Jo Youle met up with Sandra Benbeniste from Ibiza Preservation.
We were shocked and a bit sad to learn Ibiza is just 0.3% on target to reach the desired 70% renewable energy goal and this is down to a tax on the sun in Spain which meant people couldn’t install solar power sources and farming tools.
In 2022 two solar parks are being created to help with this, but we are still a long way off and behind the rest of Europe.
We are also talking Electric cars in this episode and why the island has quite a few large snakes on the loose.
Drop in to todays show and mail us on justthegoodnewsplease@gmail.com with any comments and please subscribe, rate and reviews us on iTunes, we would be hugely grateful to keep the show at the top of the charts and more visible to those who haven’t heard is yet.

19 Aug 2020 | 80: The Reset Rebel talks sex and the feminine power with Angharad Owen | 00:54:11
Angaharad Owen is an inspiration and 100% a Reset Rebel.
She has had several brushes with death, but has refused to take the traditional medical route to Re-cover from Cancer. She has taken her own life in her hands and rebelled three times to cheat what felt like a losing battle at times, but she has healed her own way on her own terms. She has lived in ibiza on and off since she was 19 when the first lump appeared, but she turned down the "life saving" operation to take a trip to Thailand instead and after much relaxation, the lump started to shrink, until it left her completely. She tells hostess Jo Youle in todays Podcast, she believes the lump, was caused by the sexual abuse she experienced as a child at the hands of a family member. This took her on a major trip to explore her sexuality and find her path through Tantra, Breathwork, meditation and her faithful Jade Egg. Angharad really wishes to help women find their fire in the bedroom, or heal old sexual trauma as she also did and move beyond into sensation, to be comfortable in their own body and feel sexy again and really FEEL. If you think she can help you, she has a course coming up soon. Drop us a line for all the details, on justthegoodnewsplease@gmail.com www.theresetrebel.com Instagram - @theresetrebel

25 Sep 2020 | 84: The Reset Rebel Around the Island Boat adventure | 01:03:44
It was our childhood dream to be the next Phileas Fogg.
So when Walking Ibiza guide, Simon Reid offered to take us on an around the island adventure, circumnavigating the island on a Sunday Speed boat trip, how could we refuse? Little did we know it would turn into quite an unexpected experience...with a few challeneges along the way. We got so much amazing material, we had to split the podcast into two parts....the rest is coming next week, including Es Vedra and and a unknown "secret underwater Es Vedra." In Part One, Simon speeds us around the Island, just like Jo did a bit more slowly 8 years ago on the very first Around the Island walking and camping trip with Walking ibiza founder and previous podcast guest, Toby Clarke. Simon and Jo take off from Talamanca Bay, hit playa Den Bossa to discuss the islands history of salt farming, the residence and attack of the Moors and also touch on the island bruish with the criminal underworld back in the 70's when Simon arrives in 1972. They then head to Salinas for breakfast at Sa Trinxa, stop off at Cala Llentrisca and finish by taking in the story of Atlantis - where the building blocks were harvested that created World heritage site, Dalt Vila. Pop onto our instagram account: @theresetrebel for footage taken on the trip....and pop back for Part Two of the podcast next week. Ten years of Walking Ibiza and 60,000 Kms hiked around the coasts, forests and woodland paths of the island as founder Toby Clarke set up his passion project to encourage us to get out and explore the magic mountains and stretches of untouched farmland and magic meanderings.
We thought that was worth celebrating, so we joined him and his entourage of firm favourites to find out a little more about how this adventure business got lift off, but also managed to keep going, when it started in a time no one seemed interested in anything other then the four walls of the DC10 Terrace. Jo Youle, presenter of the podcast, once upon a time walked around the entire coastline of the island in 2012 on a 12 day camping, hiking & once in a lifetime trip. Todays show, includes cave drumming and performance by Cyd, singing at Tannits shrine from Tobys Wife Belinda, a surprise coast guard rescue as one man became ill at Bills Paradise, two birthday lunches, singing from the gorgeous Nell Shakespeare and a few cheeky beers to catch up with the man himself to finish and find out what ;essons have been learned from a decade immersed in nature. www.theresetrebel.com www.walkingibiza.com Follow us on instagram : @theresetrebel & @walkingibiza Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theresetrebel #ibiza #walking #hiking #community #nature #islandlife
22 Oct 2020 | 86: The Reset rebel meets Ms Anatomy aka Yoga's Rebellious Celest Pereira | 01:00:37
This week, we jump on a rare Zoom call, to catch up with London Yoga teacher, anatomy geek and physiotherapist Celest Pereira.
As someone who literally lights up and starts bouncing off the walls when she talks about the human body, Celest is someone who is an absolute passionate sharer of her workshops & learnings and makes everything fun while she is at it. It is fair to say she works hard to bring a lot of knowledge to the table in her classes. She goes deep and that is her unique trait, as a teacher, she really cares about her "art". That is how she sees everything she gives to her students and that is what makes her a little bit different to most people we go to for yoga. She is also rebellious and isn't afraid to vocalise her dislike for much of the "yoga culture". She was born in South Africa, she left her home and family very young to come to London and Reset her path in life which is precisely what qualifies her to be on todays show, because she walked away from everything she knows into the unknown, like all our guests, and eventually found her craft in wellness through her love/obsessions of/with movement. We hope Celests passion shines brighter than the quality of some of this audio - which si why we never usually do a zoom podcast, but, she is special, we know you will thinks so too. For more on her classes and workshops and one day retreats when "normal" life may resume check her website: https://www.celestpereira.com/ www.theresetrebel.com Instagram: @theresetrebel

Food Glorious food...or is it when only 2% if what we eat in Ibiza is actually grown here.
That means, 98% travelled thousands of KM's and was imported to get onto the island and when we heard this we were floored and very sad indeed. The good news is this is changing fast, with a new trend of female farmers coming to save the islands ZERO Km food scene and a lot of work now being done to make positive change. We spoke to Ibiza produce director and founder Gabreille Gambina to find out more about the farm industry in ibiza, and why our own produce isn't getting eaten as much and what we can do to make that happen. www.ibizaproduce.org www.theresetrebel.com Insta: @theresetrebel & @ibizaproduce for info on how to get a map of ibizas organic farms. 06 Nov 2020 | 88: The Reset Rebel meets Martin Davies to talk Island History.... | 01:20:00
In todays episode, we have a beautiful gift on board, for anyone going through it, that needs some Radical Self Care, check out the link at the end of the show notes....
But first we pop to the very tip of Dalt Vila with show hostess Jo Youle to perch beside the Cathedral and hear the iconic bells at various interludes, but also introduce you to city resident Martin Davies, an editor, writer and translator, who moved to Ibiza from North London in 1993. He founded Barbary Press in 2000, and has since brought out a dozen books in various languages which explore the island's little-known cultural heritage. In todays show we hear from Martin about the leanings of belief, that Christopher Columbus was quite possibly from here, how the Romany Gipsies came to reside here, how the island was under siege and at threat of danger in its colourful history and also how it was back in the 60's and 70's before it came to rely so heavily on tourism and barely had a road that ran through the island to connect its colourful community. We hope you enjoy hearing a little more of the how Dalt vila came to be a world Unesco Heritage site and also, how you can lay your hands on a FREE bottle of Ibiza's finest aura mist - www.ibizaessence.com Pop on and take a look and use our RESETREBEL10 discount code or write to use at Justthegoodnewsplease@gmail.com and tell us one thing you love about the island for a chance to get your hands on a much needed little bit of morning magic. www.theresetrebel.com Insta @theresetrebel Mist : @ibizaessence

18 Dec 2020 | 92: The Reset Rebel talks Mindset and how to end 2020 on the Good Foot with The Strength Temple's Richie Norton | 00:53:50
After a year on a roller coaster ride how do we end on a high?
Is it possible? What do we need to to do get 2021 off with a bang and not set unrealistic intentions and resolutions so we can continue to not just rise, but also grow? Founder of The Strength temple Richie Norton, has a lot of good advice on how to navigate to a happy ending this year (and no not like that!) but, how to make small subtle daily changes and movement towards our goals of the New year that is almost upon us and he has had his fair share of Resets in life, especially when he had a three year on and off stint on this very island of ibiza. He now lives in Wales and nature is his number one tool for happiness. Moving, being outside more, cold water morning sea swims , hiking, breath work, yoga, fitness. These are all things we have access to, cheaply or for free, so let his Yorkshire tones wash over you and work their magic - but take notes, as he is a wise man, but he hasn't always been that way, as he shares with Jo Youle candidly, on this episode of the Reset rebel. How do you RESET?? Tag us on instagram and we will you send you, one final surprise FREE gift of this year, with your Reset Tool of 2020. 14 Feb 2021 | 93: ONE LOVE - The story of Bob Marley in Ibiza in 1978 | 01:30:03
Happy Valentines Day...
What better way, when it feels like the world needs a collective hug, to start, with a man in history who did that pretty well with his words, his reggae lyrics and everything he stood for on stage? That man was Mr Robert Nesta Marley, a man who graced these fine white sands back in 1978 for a very special one off gig, which we are lucky to have part of the LIVE recording of in todays One Love Valentines special episode. It was captured in the crowd by a fan at the old Bull Ring in Es Pratet. It is not recorded live from stage or pro style and it has definitely not been captured in the VIP area either. All the interviews have also not been done in quality, due to the circumstances, so today we ARE coming to your ears, raw, rugged and rebellious. But it is the REAL DEAL and thats the number one thing most people admired about Bob Marley. We speak to the man who played a big part of organising the show on June 28th 1978, Jose Pascuale who is Preseident of the DJ Awards. We also hear from Fransec Fabregas - the photographer standng on the tarmac to greet Bob and The Wailers as they landed more then 40 years ago. We hope you enjoy todays podcast and feel the LOVE and Good Vibes We wish to share : One LOVE. 14 Jan 2022 | 101: The Art of Creativity with Author Susie Pearl | 00:52:50
How do we get creative again at the start of a new year?
What tools are there out there to fire those creative juices back up? Are there specific creative chemicals present or that we can actively work on to get that magic back? The good news is, that Yes! There are, and that yes we can work on them. Noradrenaline is a chemical that is associated with being in our fight or flight mode and reducing stress creates more of this. Dopamine plays an extremely important role in the creative process. It is the chemical that allows our brain to wonder and think-up new ideas. Phenethylamine (PEA) is supposedly a chemical that coordinates all of the above brain chemistry. It is released when we are relaxing, having fun and feeling good about ourselves.... and lastly but by no means least? Serotonin is also worth a mention as it evidently plays a vital role in controlling our mood, which also leads to more creative spurts! Today's guest Susie Pearl is an author of a book called The Art of Creativity and talks to me not just about chemistry but how we can organically and quite easily and quickly turn our thoughts and mind towards becoming more creative. She has spoken to many fellow creatives on her very own podcast, Conversations with Susie Pearl and we got deep into subject of her book, so that maybe you can take a few leaves out of it to get back into creative mode in 2022. If making a podcast is on your list of creative projects this year? Pop onto the www.resetrebelproductions.com website to take our beginners guide to makig your own podcast series on the island 25-28th January in Santa Gertrudis, or join us in February online via Zoom, drop me a mail : JO@JOYOULE.CO.UK for details. |
