17 Oct 2015 | Mariska Majoor on HWTAS - Episode #115 | 01:00:20
The podcast is now officially International! While I was in Amsterdam for my birthday, I talked to Mariska Majoor of the Prostitution Information Center, which she opened in 1994 after she had stopped working as a prostitute. The PIC’s goal is to make it easier for people in general to talk openly about sex work and to create public respect for sex workers (a word used increasingly frequently rather than “prostitutes”). She is also the chairman of PROUD, which represents the interests of sex workers, not just in the workplace, but also in politics, media and society. One of the main tasks is to improve the image of female and male sex workers. "The biggest problem is still the stigma that hangs on everybody in the box, even if you do it with great pleasure. We have to try to do something about it," says Majoor.
26 Oct 2019 | Intimacy Directing w/Olivia Osol - Ep# 161 | 01:05:37
This episode is a conversation I had with a new friend, Olivia Osol, talking about the Intimacy Directing workshop we attended back on 10-13-19. This workshop was for directors, actors, and stage managers to learn about directing/coordinating intimate scenes on film, TV, and on stage. I felt like these were concepts that could just as well be used by anyone outside of entertainment too. So, instead of just talking about it myself, I asked Olivia to come onto the podcast so we could have a conversation about what we learned and how this would help in the real world as well. You can find Olivia's podcast "I Stream, You Stream" on iTunes

27 Apr 2015 | Peter on HWTAS - Episode #102 | 01:14:41
This is truly a conversation with two guys drinking beer and shooting the shit about sex except that the only one drinking is Peter…I just sound like I'm a drunken school kid laughing at all of his jokes. Peter and I discuss drunken sex. “Drunk sex ends up, for me, being fooling around naked, messing around with each others bodies until we both pass out and then we wake up in the morning and have morning sex.” We also ask how many people it takes to make up an orgy. "Is five considered an orgy?" Then Peter tells me he always believes in pillow talk…except when he doesn't.
30 Jul 2014 | Review of "Never Say Never" by Alison Tyler on HWTAS - Episode #85 | 00:13:22
Both of my scheduled conversations got postponed this week. So, instead, I talk about a book of erotica I read called "Never Say Never" by Alison Tyler. It offers "tips, tricks and erotic inspirations for couples."
I love this book and I think you will too! Alison offers thoughts on 16 different sexual kinks from exhibitionism to soft swapping (and more) and then gives you 16 short stories of erotica – one for each kink. She has a very flirtatious way of writing and drawing you into her imagination. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to having her as a guest on the podcast very soon.

18 Mar 2015 | Susan Y on HWTAS - Episode #97 | 00:50:40
Susan was home schooled and received very little information about sex from her parents. She thought that sex seemed "gross" and couldn't understand why anybody would do that willingly. She was brought up in what she calls a "purity culture" - not only is there no sex, but the first kiss is to be at the altar on your wedding day. Susan talks about how she eventually moved away from that and yet still deals with the aftereffects from it. "I wish I could look back on my first kiss without that baggage." 09 Jun 2015 | My Fading Memories of my First Time on HWTAS - Episode #107 | 00:11:55
It’s just me this week as I talk about my fading memory of my first time having sex. I heard Marc Maron on his WTF podcast talking about his first time and it occurred to me that I don't remember as much about that time as I used to, which saddens me.
What do you remember? | |||
12 May 2015 | My Life on the Swingset book review on HWTAS - Episode #104 | 00:08:11
In "My Life on the Swingset," Cooper Beckett throws off the lid and lets you look inside his exploration of not only the world of swinging but also his own personal growth as a lover, a husband and as an individual. He's here to pass on as much information as he can to potential "newbies" and yet he's not afraid to show you the mistakes he made along the way and that's what I enjoyed so much. I knew next to nothing about The Lifestyle before I read this book. I always thought it was an interesting topic, but in my mind it was something that USED to happen back in the 60s, 70s and maybe the 80s. Reading about Cooper's life over a 5-6 year period through the essays in this book is eye-opening and I feel like I finally understand how it all works and why this Lifestyle can be so attractive to a great many people. Do yourself a favor and read this book. It's a very easy and quick read and you'll learn new things and laugh along the way. I highly recommend it to everyone. Who knows? You may find something new that you might like to try.

19 Nov 2015 | Amy Jo Goddard on HWTAS - Episode #117 | 01:01:19
Amy Jo Goddard, author of "Woman on Fire" is my guest on the podcast. We all need to be the agent of our own sexuality. To be the agent is to be in charge – to be the one moving things forward. No one else should be the agent of our own sexuality. The government wants to be the agent of our sexuality. Sometimes boyfriends and girlfriends want to be the agent of our sexuality…and wives and husbands, companions. No one else gets to be agent, but YOU have to claim that. “When we really come into a full and authentic place of sexuality, that’s what empowerment really looks like. We really change our lives and relationships, because we show up very differently when we are fully in our agency.”
