04 Oct 2023When I'm Connected I Feel Alive I Episode 501:00:57

In this episode, we discuss what connection is, the impact of connection, and what the lack of connection feels like. We contemplate on why connection, much like integrity, is a game changer for yoga teachers–and every other human being.

Also, we're thrilled to spontaneously share the mic with our good old friend Saga from Sagayoga.fi. She's so real and beautiful, what an honor to share with you this spontaneous chat we had with her!

We started a new section called "Yoga Myths" in this episode. In each episode, we'll discuss a saying or an attitude you'll often hear in the yoga and self-help circles. You'll hear our take on the saying "We're All One" in this episode. Let us know what you think!

We discuss a current real-life example of "getting outside your comfort zone" (is this another yoga myth we should bust?), and Happy Jack's recent asking for help at school.

02 Jan 2024Who Are You Becoming? I Episode 1700:58:14

In this episode, we discuss the path we create with our choices as we step into the new year. Do New Year’s resolutions really work?

This is the quote Happy Jack shares in this episode:

“..where we are betwixt and between the familiar and the completely unknown. There alone is our old world left behind, while we are not yet sure of the new existence. That’s a good space where genuine newness can begin. Get there often and stay as long as you can by whatever means possible…This is the sacred space where the old world is able to fall apart, and a bigger world is revealed. If we don’t encounter liminal space in our lives, we start idealizing normalcy. The threshold is God’s waiting room. Here we are taught openness and patience as we come to expect an appointment with the divine Doctor..”

- Richard Rohr, Falling Upward

09 Jan 2024Living The Questions Now I Episode 1800:59:55

In this episode, we discuss some insights Jack is working on regarding our relationship. We also bus the myth that says that Yoga Is Expensive.

In the Hot Seat today we have Happy Jack with some amazing reflections on the past year.

The Quote we read in this episode is this:

“I beg you, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”

Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

11 Mar 2025Kishori Gopi | Harvard Bhakti Yoga Conference | Episode 8201:01:58

Kishori Gopi, formally known as Kelly Skinner, is a spiritual teacher who is a conduit of divine love and a vehicle for Divine grace to heal and awaken. In this lifetime, her medicine is to help beings live radiantly and die gracefully through the practices of Bhakti Yoga, Meditation, Reiki, and End of Life Doula Work. She approaches both life and work with awareness, aliveness, and compassion. To her, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing another being remember and fall in love with their own true nature.

As a Bhakti Yogi, teacher & devotee, an integral aspect of her practice is chanting and leading Kirtan in her community in Burlington, VT. She describes Kirtan as group prayer, and a call out together for divinity to manifest in the heart. Kishori teaches weekly yoga asana classes in Vermont, leads international yoga retreats, and offers free Kirtan’s with her Kirtan Band (Kishori & the Kartels). She also runs her own business in which she offers both group and 1-on-1 programs for deepening your spiritual practice, energetic healing, navigating grief/loss/death, and getting clear on your dharma. Through her teaching, she hopes to share the transformational effects of a practice rooted in Bhakti, divine love and devotion. As an End of Life Doula, she supports those who are actively dying, those who are supporting someone who is preparing for death, and those who desire to prepare for their own death (which is coming for all of us, at a time unknown to us). She works with people who are looking for support around their grief, and moving through and managing loss. In addition to being an End of Life Doula, she offers support to those grieving the loss of a loved one, losses of jobs, relationships, and sense of identity/self.

25 Mar 2025Edwin Bryant, Ph.D | Harvard Bhakti Yoga Conference | Episode 9601:09:35

Edwin Bryant received his Ph.D in Indic languages and Cultures from Columbia University. He taught Hinduism at Harvard University for three years, and is presently the professor of Hinduism at Rutgers University where he teaches courses on Hindu philosophy and religion. He has received numerous awards and fellowships, published eight books, and authored a number of articles on the earliest origins of the Vedic culture, yoga philosophy, and the Krishna tradition. As a personal practitioner of bhakti yoga for over 45 years, a number of them spent in India studying with traditional teachers, where he returns yearly, Edwin strives to combine academic scholarship and rigor with appreciation towards traditional knowledge systems. His teaching method is to allow the ancient texts to speak in their own voice and through their own terms and categories. Edwin’s translation of and commentary on the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali is specifically dedicated to contributing to the growing body of literature on yoga by providing insights from the major pre-modern commentaries on the text with a view to grounding the teachings in their traditional context. Edwin’s most recent published work is a sequel to this by the same publisher entitled Bhakti Yoga: Tales and Teachings from the Bhāgavata Purāṇa. This work, too, seeks to ground the practices of bhakti in the traditional Krishna-centered framework of the Vrindavan devotional traditions.
