22 Jul 2023Role-Play Rumble01:03:41

Introducing the star of our show: Role-play and Skills Training! It's like drama class for the criminally inclined, where they get to practice being law-abiding citizens. We call it "Criminal Improv," where we pretend we're in a real-life social situation, and our participants act out how they'd normally respond. Oh, and trust us, folks, it's not your typical improv show. Our criminals can give Shakespeare a run for his money with their elaborate performances! But here's the secret sauce – it's all about "unlearning" their old, ineffective behaviors. Yep! Just like peeling off those old, crusty criminal layers to reveal the diamond in the rough beneath. By the end of our sessions, these criminals will be giving TED Talks on how to choose pro-social goals! Stay tuned for our next episode, where we'll dive into the world of "Criminal Karaoke" – because everyone deserves to sing their way to redemption!

11 Sep 2022Untouchable Reaction Video Part 301:15:17

Greetings Guerrilla Social Workers! We’re thrilled to bring you another chitchat with your hosts Jeff “Rust Lust” Moore, and yours faithfully, Mace Warren. Jeff and I are both forensic psychotherapists that specialize in treating clients involved in the criminal justice system.  We love sharing our misguided musings with all of you, and we thank you so much for your ongoing listenership.

Today we bring you our last installment of the Untouchable Reaction Video series. When the most powerful lobbyist in Florida discovers that the nanny has sexually abused his daughter, he harnesses his extraordinary political power to pass the toughest sex offender laws in the nation. UNTOUCHABLE chronicles his crusade, and its impact on the lives of several of the 800,000 people forced to live under the kinds of laws he has championed. The film interweaves intimate portraits of men and women who have been branded sex offenders with the heartbreaking stories of those who have suffered sexual abuse. Directed and produced by David Fiege. No infringement intended.

If you like what you hear, pretend like you are going to play airplane with the five-star rating. When the five-star rating extends his arms to hold you, hold one of his forearms with both hands, position your legs so your knees are bent and their arm and elbow are between your legs, squeeze your legs towards their body and pull the arm towards you, and using the five-star ratings chest as a fulcrum, pull their wrist to your chest and apply upwards pressure from your hops, while slightly pulling the hand towards your chest.

This film takes us on a wild ride through the twisted maze of pedophilia hysteria. Strap in and buckle up! Now, we've got some burning questions to tackle. How did society arrive at this mind-boggling conclusion that all men are potential pedophiles? And what on earth are the political and social consequences of this madness? It's a real head-scratcher. Are men becoming the new victims of modern sexism, or is this surge in sexism somehow justified? We're about to break it down for you. Let's keep it real. So join us as we dissect this documentary, share our insights, and maybe even poke a little fun at some absurdities along the way. 01 Apr 2023The Dark Triad01:15:20

Today, the GSW Crew is discussing the Dark Triad. The Dark Triad is a set of three personality traits that are often associated with negative and destructive behaviors. These traits are narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. Narcissism refers to an excessive focus on oneself, including a sense of entitlement and a lack of empathy for others. Machiavellianism involves a willingness to manipulate and exploit others for personal gain, often through deceit and cunning. Psychopathy is characterized by a lack of remorse, empathy, and impulse control, often leading to impulsive and antisocial behavior. These traits can be found in varying degrees in individuals, and while they may provide certain advantages in certain contexts, they are generally associated with negative outcomes for both the individual and those around them.

16 Jul 2021MAN VS. BEAST!00:59:02

The boys sit down to discuss the YouGov America Article Rumble in the Jungle: Which Animals Would Win in a Fight? 1,224 US adults were asked to choose which of two animals they thought would win in a fight in a series of head to head match-ups. On each page they saw two animals with the prompt: “Which animal do you think would win in a fight?” Each respondent saw seven match-ups, and no animal featured more than once. Data was weighted to be nationally representative of all US Adults, 18+. The survey was conducted between April 12-13, 2021. They also link this with the Dunning-Kruger Effect. The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their own skills.

01 Feb 2023GSW Responds to Candace Owens01:13:34

Felicitations Guerrilla Social Workers! We’re stoked to bring you another chitchat with your hosts Jeff “optic scump” Moore, and yours faithfully, Mace Warren. Jeff and I are both forensic psychotherapists that specialize in treating clients involved in the criminal justice system.  We love sharing our misguided musings with all of you, and we thank you so much for your ongoing listenership.

Today, the GSW crew responds to a video made by Candace Owens from the Daily Wire titled, “Therapy is Ruining Western Civilization.” Candace shares her views on why she thinks therapy is causing people to overshare and become overly sensitive, and the boys give their take on the subject.

If you like what you hear, offer to tie the five-star ratings shoes. When you kneel down, reach between their legs with your stronger arm and reach around your back from the same side with your weaker arm before then lifting the five-star rating up over your shoulder. From this position, fall forward to slam the five-star rating against the ground.

And now on with the show.

20 Aug 2023Amy Daeschel01:23:04

Now, hold onto your thinking caps, because we've got a guest in the house. Amy Daeschel is the name, and let me tell ya, she's like a tornado of wisdom. This gal's been through the trenches, from being a former substance user and homeless individual to becoming a Certified Peer Support Specialist. She's like a phoenix rising from the ashes, pursuing a master's degree at the University of Utah, all while juggling crisis intervention, administration, and more. And if you thought that was all, well, think again. Amy's got her fingers in policy work, advocating for expungement and behavioral health. She's been on more boards than a game of Monopoly! Now, here's a gem from Amy herself: "We are not what we have done; we are everything we overcome." Wise words from someone who's not just talkin' the talk but walkin' the walk. So buckle up, let’s roll.

16 Aug 2020#32 LGBTQ...P???00:39:08

From Reuters: Social media users have been sharing posts online that falsely imply the LGBTQ community is accepting of “pedosexuals”. There are different versions of the posts, but most refer to the claim that the community will add the letter P to the acronym LGBT.   Jeff and Mace discuss the issue and provide a pretty lame excuse for being MIA for so long. Also, we were having an audio issue with one of our mics...take it easy.

21 Nov 2022ATSA Review01:09:17

Today, the GSW crew reviews their recent attendance to the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse. We talk about all the presentations we heard and give our personal takes on the conference as a whole.

If you like what you hear, wait until the five-star rating button lays down for a nap, climb to the top rope and execute a 1 & ½ front flip and land on their chest.

18 Mar 2022Episode 56: Untouchable Reaction Video (Part 1)01:06:33

The boys sit down today and do their inaugural reaction video to the documentary Untouchable. The film synopsis reads as follows: “When the most powerful lobbyist in Florida discovers that the nanny has sexually abused his daughter, he harnesses his extraordinary political power to pass the toughest sex offender laws in the nation. It is a film that pushes viewers toward an uncomfortable place, requiring them to walk in the shoes of those who have survived sexual abuse, but to still bear witness to the experiences of those we revile.” Written and produced by David Feige.

19 Aug 2020#33 Addict II Athlete Weber Chapter01:12:33

Mace and Jeff sit down with Drew Richards and Natalie Whitney (not Stracener) to talk about their personal struggles with addiction, as well as their joint efforts in starting the first Weber County Chapter of Addict II Athlete. Sorry, Jimmy...you took some hits on this one.

06 Jan 2023Hunting for Resolution01:03:43

Today, the GSW posse reviews a large-scale experiment on new year’s resolutions. Despite the popularity of New Year’s resolutions, current knowledge about them is limited. We investigated what resolutions people make when they are free to formulate them, whether different resolutions reach differing success rates, and whether it is possible to increase the likelihood of a resolution’s success by administering information and exercises on effective goal setting.

If you like what you hear, when the five-star rating button twists its ankle, offer your shoulder to help them walk. But before taking your first step, grab a waist lock and lift the five-star rating up while falling backward, causing them to land on their neck and shoulders.

And now on with the show.

What’s up Guerrilla Social Workers! We’re stoked for another gabfest with your hosts Jeff “fanta pants” Moore, and yours faithfully, Mace Warren. Today we record another installment of our Villains to Victory series with our former client Jack. Jeff and I loved catching up with Jack, and we know you will enjoy him as well.

If you like what you hear, please be sure to trap the five-star rating’s arm between your legs and pull back on his head until he taps out.

Today we bring you another installment of our GSW news series, where Jeff and I each bring a provocative news article to the table to discuss and share our thoughts.

If you like what you hear, ask the five-star rating to help you practice a new method for the Heimlich maneuver. But when he ducks his head forward wrap your arm around his neck, grab your choking arm with the other hand, push your hips forward, and pull up on the five-star rating’s head as he nods off.

10 Mar 2025Blurred Lines: When Consent and Confidentiality Collide00:24:46

In this week's episode, we're diving headfirst into the tangled web of ethics, privacy, and professional boundaries—where the stakes are high, and one slip can unravel a whole treatment plan. We're exploring the delicate dance of maintaining informed consent and confidentiality when working with adults and juveniles who've committed a sexual offense. It's a world where secrets, trust, and legal landmines collide—and navigating it requires more precision than defusing a bomb with a blindfold on. Buckle up, because this one's equal parts nerve-wracking and enlightening.

22 Nov 2017#3 Triggers00:41:55

Triggers

Jeff, Justin, and Mace discuss how to help clients beware of their triggers and what situations can be high-risk. The discussion involves how to decide what can be a trigger and how to “zoom out” on the situation and learn more about what events can lead up to a triggering situation. The podcast starts with a bit of a nonsense discussion about eclipses, blizzards, and dieting.
