27 Oct 2023Rallycast: How Edge Sound Research is Changing the Game with New SportsTech — Valtteri Salomaki00:10:43

The average courtside ticket to an NBA game is priced at around $2,000, as reported by Sportskeeda.

While this might not pose a significant hurdle for the typical celebrity or CEO, it often places that premium experience out of reach for the average sports fan.

Valtteri Salomaki is the CEO and Co-Founder of Edge Sound Research, a company that’s bringing realism to sound experiences via vibration.

Edge Sound Research has been making some serious noise over the past couple of years. They've been a part of the Minnesota Twins Accelerator, powered by Techstars, participated in the NBA Launchpad program, and even secured a win at the Rally IN-Prize pitch competition.

During Valtteri's visit to Indianapolis forat Rally, we had the opportunity to sit down and dive deeper into Edge's journey. We explored how plugging into the amateur sports capital of the world can take their business to the next level.

13 Oct 2023Rallycast: Why the Midwest is the Ideal Home for D2C Companies with Mahsa Vazin00:13:15

According to an article on Money.com, dog owners are also spending between $1,390 to $4,095 a year on nonessential items.

This includes everything from the usual collars and heartworm medicine to personal trainers and pet insurance. It seems that in 2023, dog owners are really going all out

Pair that with the rise of plant-based foods, and that is where Mahsa Vazin and the team at PawCo Foods come in.

I sat down with the CEO of PawCo Foods, Mahsa Vazin, Ph.D. to dive into why the Midwest is the perfect breeding ground for D2C companies.

She was an early scientist at Impossible Foods and is now building a company in a similar space

Pawco Foods is a direct-to-consumer subscription brand for pet food made from plant-based meat.

Pawco Foods was part of the IN-Prize pitch competition and was the winner for the Ag & Food category.

07 Jun 2023The Real Secrets Behind Executive Coaching with Santiago Jaramillo00:55:25

Santiago Jaramillo (or as his friends call him, Santi) has only ever had one boss in his career. That was in 2010 when he was an intern at ExactTarget. Since that experience, he has grown and sold three companies for over $50 million dollars, published a book, and been selected as a member of Inc.’s 30 Under 30 list.

Entrepreneurship was instinctively built into Santi. As a young boy he got his start selling produce and water around his neighborhood in Colombia, until a near tragic experience prompted his family to immigrate to the United States.

Santi has an amazing story of resilience, hard work, and incredible self-awareness—which are skills he continues to flex as an executive coach today.

Santiago Jaramillo is a visionary serial entrepreneur and technology leader known for his exceptional contributions to the field of employee engagement and mobile communication.

He founded, scaled, and sold Bluebridge, a mobile app development company. That set his focus on growing Emplify, a company that became a market leader in the employee engagement space and was ultimately acquired by 15Five in 2021 for $50 million dollars.

Santi is now working as an executive coach where he is helping founders and leaders grow their business and navigate key transitions in life and work.

Throughout his career, Santi has been honored with numerous accolades, including recognition in Forbes' 30 Under 30 list and Indianapolis Business Journal's Forty Under 40. 23 Aug 2023How to Build Momentum with Your Startup and Career with Christopher Day and Matt Hunckler01:01:40

Entrepreneurship is not all rainbows and sunshine.

On every epic journey, there is inevitably adversity and failure. What sets successful entrepreneurs apart is how they respond to these challenges.

On today’s show, we do a topic deep dive with Toph and Matt about failure, momentum, and building robust professional communities.
