Motherhood is the hardest job of all. To bring a human life into this world - and to raise it into a person that contributes to the betterment of it - is no easy feat. So in honor of Mother's Day and mothers everywhere, we sat with three generations of women to learn all about their experiences with parenthood.  From the inexplicable joy - to the moments that make their hair fall out (literally), we learned of the hilariously raw truths few mothers are willing to share. A special thanks to guests, Moreen and Colleen, for sharing those truths in a way that both enlightens and resonates at the very same time.

A victim of the incredibly rare 'Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum,' Derek was once able to do most normal, everyday activities. Until he wasn't. As a then 14-year-old, complaints of a headache soon meant Derek would never speak, eat, or perform standard daily functions again. Derek's mother joins us, detailing the regression of her son's condition, and how she, as his dedicated caretaker, has managed to get through each new day rebuilding her beloved son. They say it’s necessary to have thick skin; for Fatima, the expression is especially true. Having battled a lifetime of severe eczema, this young mother has tried everything to fight her way through debilitating discomfort. After finding a topical steroid that seemed to cure all, Fatima shares with us the devastating side effects she experienced coming off of it. For her, shedding her skin also meant shedding light on the all-too-real Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW). Today, though Fatima is still healing from her condition, she sits down with Becky and Laura to share the active choices that have helped her find comfort in her own skin. Losing your mother - the person responsible for bringing you into this world, and helping you navigate your way through it - carries a special kind of grief. This week's guest, Mark "June" Allen, Jr., recounts what it was like to lose his at the tender age of 22, and shares with us the healthy outlets he chose that helped him to move forward along the righteous path on which his beloved mother placed him. He reminds us all to chose to LIVE, even when living without someone seems too difficult to bear. The Bible tells us to love. So why is it a problem with that we do? She now joins 'For the Hayters' to discuss her newfound confidence after her accident, and how it's helped her navigate today's dating world: "I used to only swipe right on guys who were over six feet tall...but, uh, my standards have lowered a bit," jokes Jill. This week, we honor Father's Day by honoring no other than the father of 'For the Hayters.' Larry Hayter is a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He also has Primary  Progressive Aphasia, which limits his ability to communicate. In this special tribute, Larry's children - Larry Jr., Kimberly, Justin, Alexsandra, and of course, our Becky, do the talking for him.
