This week, in another real-life, unscripted nutrition counselling session, I speak with a woman with diabetes who is struggling to rediscover her intuitive eater while managing a chronic health condition. 

 

Having a chronic health condition such as diabetes can feel, as this woman describes, "very unfair", as it adds an extra layer of complexity to food and your choices. There is however, a way to make space for reconnecting with your intuitive eater and managing a chronic health condition, such as diabetes, allergies, coeliac disease, IBS or other health conditions.

 

In this episode, we speak about these challenges and I also give you some quick-fire advice on diabetes management and intuitive eating. Even if you don't have diabetes, I can almost guarantee you will learn something from this episode.

HAES is a weight inclusive approach to health that encourages health promoting behaviours, regardless of their outcome on weight. It is a different approach to the standard weight centric model of care. I explain the paradigm in detail in this podcast, along with explaining why the weight centric model of care is problematic.
