This episode marks the first 'Ask Niamh' episode, where I dedicate entire podcast episodes to answering listener questions. This week's question is: "How can we deal with feeling like we're never doing enough: not focusing enough on intuitive eating, not doing enough body image work, not doing enough intuitive movement and the guilt that comes with it? I feel like I need to be doing everything all the time; otherwise, I'm failing." I share three steps in this episode that will help with the above; feeling like you're never doing enough. 20 Jul 2024 | S6 E4: In Session | I Have Diabetes. Is Intuitive Eating For Me? | 00:56:44
This week, in another real-life, unscripted nutrition counselling session, I speak with a woman with diabetes who is struggling to rediscover her intuitive eater while managing a chronic health condition.
Having a chronic health condition such as diabetes can feel, as this woman describes, "very unfair", as it adds an extra layer of complexity to food and your choices. There is however, a way to make space for reconnecting with your intuitive eater and managing a chronic health condition, such as diabetes, allergies, coeliac disease, IBS or other health conditions.
In this episode, we speak about these challenges and I also give you some quick-fire advice on diabetes management and intuitive eating. Even if you don't have diabetes, I can almost guarantee you will learn something from this episode.

Thanks so much.”

How to explain IE and the changes in thinking of diets to our loved ones, who are used to us talking about diets or being on a diet? I would LOVE it if you could share some one-liners to close down diet culture talk in a polite way and, on the flip side, some tips on gently introducing the subject of IE in a "planting the seed" kind of way. 19 Jul 2022 | S2 E7: Solo | What to Do When You Feel Stuck 'Eating Everything' | 00:17:27
One of the first steps on an intuitive eating journey is to remove any restrictions around foods that have been previously restricted and to give yourself unconditional permission to eat all foods. Yes, even chocolate!
This can result in an incredible feeling of freedom and liberation, but you may also feel as though you are eating a lot of these foods, all of the time. Although this is a normal part of the process, it's common to get stuck at this stage. If this is happening to you right now, this episode will give you three strategies you can begin implementing to help you through it.

23 Nov 2023 | S5 E2: Real Stories | Becoming Sober Curious with Amy | 01:08:56
My guest on the show today is one of my long-term clients, Amy, who shares her story with us of coming from a place of feeling stressed and obsessed with food and her body, to now feeling completely free and at peace around food.
Her personal journey has had such a huge impact on her life, not only on her relationship with food and her body but also on her relationship with alcohol. As she began to rebuild her relationship with food, she started to question the impact that alcohol had on her life and discovered that she wasn’t willing to pay the costs anymore.
Her sober curiosity has led her to try and help others who also feel the same, by setting up Nolo, Ireland’s newest non-alcoholic bottle boutique. Nolo delivers an impressive collection of delicious no/low alcohol drinks. You can find out more here.

06 Jun 2023 | S4 E6: No Apologies | Living Unapologetically with Laura B | 00:55:22
Welcome to the Living Unapologetically interview series, where I speak openly and candidly with people I connect with about their personal experiences of living their most authentic and unapologetic life.
Diet culture robs us of living our lives unapologetically by teaching us that we need to look a certain way to be worthy and valuable. The more we conform, the more worthy we perceive ourselves to be. But the attempt to physically shrink or shapeshift ourselves can cause us to shrink as a whole. This series will invite you to consider the possibility of showing up as your authentic self, no matter your size, shape or external appearance, with no apologies.
My first guest in the series is one of my best friends, Laura B. This is an open and candid chat between friends about what it takes and how it feels to live unapologetically.
If you want to feel inspired while listening to a relaxed chat, this is for you!
