A windmill in the desert of Arizona is screaming while the wind is coming. Those windmills are used to pump water, in order to give water to cattle or wild animals for hunting. The groaning is produced naturally by the central mast on a piece of wood (part of the windmill). Recorded during a scouting for an upcoming sound art project in Arizona (to be done in 2022). Histoires de Pierres est une déambulation et installation sonore à la croisée de la pièce sonore poétique, du cabinet de minéralogie et de l’archéologie imaginaire. Une invitation à se balader dans les rues et à découvrir le village de Fitou, pour écouter le chant des pierres et son paysage rocailleux, au son du vent et des récits intimes des habitants. Ils ont tous leur propre rapport à la pierre : celle qui fait la qualité incontestable du vin, celle du mur de leur maison, celle qu’ils charrient chaque vendredi pour restaurer des abris dans la garrigue, celle qu’ils ont ramassée lors d’une balade et qu’ils ont gardée presque machinalement, qui trône maintenant sur un coin de la cheminée. Les pierres qui sembleraient banales deviennent précieuses, ce sont des trésors anciens dont les habitants sont les gardiens. Chaque histoire est singulière et les récits associés esquissent l’histoire d’une communauté. Une invitation à découvrir le village sous une autre oreille. On the top of the mountain, the wind is howling in the old installation of the ski station of Chacaltaya, Bolivia. The station was the highest in the world, and stops a few years ago, because of the smelting of the ice (du to global warming). RESUME: Mexico City: more than 20 millions people gathered making noise! A noisy city for most; I would like to transform it in a sonorous city. The street sellers make the voices of the polyphonic choir, the small bell from the ice cream seller substitutes the triangle from the orchestra, and the hammering of the protesters on the metallic wall are the percussions. In Mexico City, people shout to be heard, they shout their rage against the cops, they shout at the ‘lucha libre’ fights, they shout together ¡ Viva Mexico ! to feel united, and during a demonstration they also shout ¡Viva Mexico ! People shout in church, they pray together or alone, whispering in the silent night. The thunder booms: nobody can shout at the storm, and the rain cleans the silent city. A solo voice after the rain, and the choir resumes gradually. People sing to forget and the shouting starts again, louder, so that the others don´t forget. The water flows under the city, the forgotten lake is mourning; it remembers when the city was an Island… On the top, it is too noisy, underneath, the water keeps in silence the secrets of the past. INTENTION Most of the people in the world live in cities. The daily soundscape is in most of the case a continuous sound of traffic, close or distant. Mexico City has a series of sounds added to the background which make the specificity of the city: the cries and sounds of the street sellers are in most part responsible. In the past, most cities had their own cries (as some classical music can testify, like ‘Les cris de Paris’ from Janequin). In Mexico City, this tradition has persisted until today, but the government and general opinion is not in favour of them: street sellers are each time further away from the touristic center, advertising campaigns are done to make them disappear from the subway, and police operations block their access to the streets. I would like to pay tribute to these Criers through a soundscape of Mexico City, that will become a sonorous memory of a time that sooner than later will disappear.

Sous Sussurrement is a collaborative sound piece that documents the experience of listening to and sounding with Azillanet, a small village in the south of France. Created by nine sound recordists, artists, engineers and dabblers from nine different countries during a workshop with Felix Blume, it attempts to unearth the village's hidden, subterranean and parallel sound worlds. Worlds carried on the back of whispers, murmurs, flutters, whisps, buzzes, footfalls and creaks. A sound piece by Alyssa Moxley, Anne Marie Deacy, Heather Anderson, Jakov Munizaba, Jamie Reinert, Joschka Waibel, Marco Furlanetto, Nino Paton and Ruxandra Stoicescu. La sensación que provoca la instalación cuando se escucha a la distancia busca evocar sonidos que se asemejan a rezos.
