She and I talk about some of the comments we’ve heard about food and body image in the church and how to untangle the mess of food lies that we sometimes run into. You’ll learn how to recognize diet culture red flags within the church (and Christianity as a whole) and how to navigate working through them on your journey to food freedom and better body image. Working towards building a better relationship with your body can be daunting when you feel like you have to take it on alone. Luckily, you don’t have to! In this episode, you’ll learn how much easier it is to trust your body when you let go of the control you think you have to cling so tightly to. In today’s episode, we’ll be taking a look at the third and final component of body trust. This last piece may feel unnatural at first, and like the opposite of everything the world tells us to do. But, when we lean into it and learn to understand the real purposes for it, learning to trust your body and the design the Lord has for it becomes so much easier. We’ll focus on why it's not sustainable to rely on your own strength, reveal some truth about the Lord’s character, and discover how you can turn over your goal of body trust to Him. In this last episode of the body trust framework series, you're going to… 👉 Identify the 3rd and final component needed in order to cultivate body trust. 🔎 Uncover a lie the world’s been telling you 🕊️ See what’s possible when you learn to let go of control Resources mentioned: >>> Download the FREE companion workbook to go along with this series HERE! Food rules may provide an illusion of control and predictability but are often really the thing holding you back from food freedom. Sometimes feeling trapped on your journey to freedom comes from holding on too tightly to the control that you believe you have. True freedom from your burdens is found in submitting your shortcomings and surrendering control to the Lord and His ways. Listen in as I share some of the ways that I’ve learned that freedom doesn’t necessarily go hand-in-hand with being in complete control. In today’s episode, I’ll share with you why submitting to God’s authority is essential to making progress toward food freedom, fighting negative body image, and relinquishing the control that causes anxiety and disordered relationships with food. A few things you’ll hear in this episode are: 📖 Encouragement from a personal story of freedom and Mark 11:24 in scripture 🤲🏽 What surrender truly means and how to apply it to your situation 🔐 Some root behaviors that may be giving you a false sense of control 🏃🏽♀️ How to take the first steps away from control and toward finding freedom in the Lord ❓ A key acronym and questions to help you recognize and overcome the fear of surrendering Resources mentioned:

27 Dec 2023 | 57. What the World Tries to Tell You About How to Find True Freedom and The TRUTH you Actually Need To Hear | 00:30:47 | |
There are lots of voices in the world telling you what “true freedom”, but it can be difficult to know who or what to listen to. The world tells us that the best way to find freedom is doing what you want to do when you want to do it, being “true to yourself”; however real freedom comes when we learn to surrender to God. In today’s episode, we’ll talk about finding freedom from the concepts of Radical Expressive Individualism. I’ll discuss why understanding and grounding ourselves in absolute truth is the path to finding freedom in God’s truth, rather than your own. You’ll learn the importance of placing boundaries on what you believe about yourself and others, your feelings, and finding happiness. We’ll also discuss the necessity of becoming a slave to Jesus rather than sin, giving yourself grace, and abiding in personal relationship with Christ to discover true freedom through him. Topics discussed in this episode include: 🎙️ The four main planks of Radical Expressive Individualism 🧐 How expressive individualism may be showing up in your life 🛑 How REI is holding you back from freedom in today’s culture 4️⃣ Four steps to experiencing true freedom 🕊️ Learning to admit your slavery to sin and inability to fix it and instead surrender to the Lord Resources mentioned: >>> Join me on January 9th or 11th for my free 2024 game planning workshop Become a VIP Podcast Insider HERE to access BONUS resources only available to our VIP list.
