Today I have a test drive, to test drive, Cupra’s First Electric Vehicle, the Cupra Born, a Bespoke pure-electric vehicle, now available to order in New Zealand.   

There’s a demonstrator travelling around NZ, so I’m booked in at Farmer CUPRA, in Tauranga  for my test drive.

The plan was to  cover as much as I could about the car, including - performance, interior features, and looks...but then I got stuck in traffic!!!!

Fonterra's electric milk tanker was on display at Fieldays 2022 in New Zealand. Adrian Maidment interviewed Fabian Lloyd from Fonterra on this first of its kind tanker.

Tesla Model 3 Highland has been out for a while but today I finally got to check it out.  And for more review, reviewing I brought along my dad. But you won't be seeing him much on camera. 🤣

Updates included the reworked nose, new headlights, new body panels, updated taillights, redesigned rear face sheer. Does look better than the previous model and the deep blue metallic paint is a winner.

We're both impressed by the more aerodynamic exterior styling. ✅

I was just arriving at the Garden Centre to buy some potting mix - spotted a Kia EV6 entering the carpark just before me...Got to chatting with its owner Keith….Then we are off for a drive!  A big surprise. Fantastic.

I'm testing out a hybrid for this review, not a full EV. It's a small SUV hybrid, the Haval Jolion Ultra Hybrid. 

The first thing you'll notice is the price, with the base model starting at $34,990, the Lux Hybrid at $37,990, and the Ultra Hybrid I’m driving today from $40,990 plus on-road costs.

Other SUVs to consider in this category include the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid and the Hyundai Kona Hybrid. 
Note that there’s no built-in Sat Nav, so you'll need to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for navigation.

Luxgen is a car brand you may have never heard of. 
But the Luxgen n7 is a big deal. It’s the first EV launched by Luxgen. 

And the n7 is developed by Foxtron, a joint venture between Luxgen parent Yulon and Taiwanese company Foxconn. Foxconn is the company that  makes the  iphones for Apple.

There are 3 models of the n7 available. 2 are 5 seaters, plus a 7 seat option.

The Luxgen n7 is built on the MIH  (Mobility in Harmony) platform, an open-source, modular electric vehicle architecture that allows for various driveline layouts, including single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive.
