27 Apr 2023#119: Dear Competitor Who Thinks I am Copying... (Can I Coach You?)00:23:28

YOU KNOW EVEN BUSINESS COACHES HAVE COACHES DON’T YOU?

I was once where you are, it’s hard.  I do get it.

I can’t tell you how worried I was or anxious at times or how my imposter syndrome, personal trauma and self-doubt crippled me at times.

I know at times I make it look easy, it isn’t.  The grass always looks greener and all.

This business isn’t my first rodeo… My first business despite being award-winning, was unprofitable, left me with debt and the trauma of feeling like a failure. I also had someone copy my trademarked business name and my branding colours just adding a word on the end.

I know there are times when it’s a lot harder than you realised running a business would be…

Down days suck!

I am just a person… like you

I am no better than you…

I am not always right… I don’t always behave well.

I hope you can take something constructive away from this to improve your business. I hope you can see my side clearer now.

It got me thinking about how much my life has changed in that time.

Looking at the cheeky smiles of a 3-year-old Eva, 6-year-old Kayla and me at 29.

From the outside, anyone looking at the photo would have thought how lovely!

That's the thing about photos...

29 Apr 2023#120: OPINION: What can and can't be classed as a competitor copying you?00:11:24

This is my take on what is genuinely a competitor copying you in your equine business and what isn't. It is not legal advice. It is my opinions and feeling to help you decide if you have or haven't been copied and if there is anything you can do.

I hope this helps but please seek professional advice from a lawyer if you need it.

I will discuss in the next episode what I would do if I found a competitor to genuinely be copying me.

19 Jul 2023#135: Boundary Blur - What is it and how to know if you have it!00:12:49

🚫 Do you really have to be NICE and give yourself away to please others because you’re a business? 🤔

Someone pushed a client's boundaries today! They wanted to pick their brains about what they do, using that sly "I’m your friend" tone (despite being a competitor). 😒

You know me! I believe in fostering relationships with competitors, but I draw the line at sleazy...

❤️ "I'm your best mate, spill the beans..." vibe from brain pickers. 😒🚫

(You know the type, right? We may be nice and approachable, but we're not pushovers!) 🙅‍♀️

But hey, sometimes we struggle with setting boundaries...

From day one, women have been conditioned to be "good girls," always saying yes, and prioritizing others' needs over our own!

I'm here for you and my tribe of recovering people pleasers with blurry boundaries! 💪👯‍♀️

How do you know if you have boundary blur in business? 🤷‍♀️

If you:

✅ Say yes to every request, even when your schedule is packed.

✅ Put everyone else's needs before your own, leaving little time or energy for yourself.

✅ Seek constant validation from others, questioning your worth and decisions.

It's not your fault! We've been conditioned that way!

I get it! The pressure of feeling pulled, trying to be the good girl, please and help everyone while screaming "Nooo" inside SUCKS! 😫

When my client faced a cheeky request like that, I asked her 3 questions:

❶ Do you owe this person anything?

❷ What could happen if you give them what they want?

❸ What could happen if you don't?

Is it really worth your time and energy?

Guard your boundaries!

No one will do it for you.

You're in business! 💼

If you don't have the time or energy to deal with this, who says you have to?

Build your walls! (Okay, sometimes they feel more like rotten posts, but keep building) 🧱💪

STEAL my BOUNDARIES! 🚧

My boundaries are tested daily. I don't always manage to defend them, and that's okay! I take responsibility for that.

But as a rule:

1️⃣ No coffee chats for brain-picking! If you want my expertise, book a call and pay for it! ☕💰

2️⃣ Prioritise messages: Clients first, leads second, and the rest may not get a reply unless it aligns with my values.

3️⃣ No phone calls unless there's an appointment or it's from a close friend or family member.

4️⃣ I don't check emails until after lunch.

5️⃣ I limit 1:1 clients to 5 per month.

6️⃣ My core program, Stable Foundations Hub PLUS, runs fortnightly to allow rest and avoid burnout. No live calls during school holidays (except for August, which includes mentoring calls and group support only). The lower price reflects this. 📆💤

Setting boundaries is tough! But if you're struggling with boundary blur in your business, DM me today at @equinebusinessassistant or @jennibushcoaching and let me know! 💌

I may have something to help you break the cycle

🕵️‍♀️⛑🧢👒TOO MANY HATS!

I had a moment this morning when it all felt too much!
Overwhelm, laid heavy in my head and chest. I felt like there were 100 fires to put out and I just didn't know where to start!

I'm sure I am not alone am I?

As Entrepreneurs, we have to wear all the hats!
🌟The Worker
🌟The Manager
🌟The CEO
🌟The Sales Team
🌟The Marketing Team

There is so much! we could work and never stop, there is always more to do!

And then there are all the ways to do things!
All the ideas!
All the tech!
And what is right?

Wow it's a headache isn't it?

Especially if you are trying to wear all the hats AT ONCE!

🛑STOP!
Step back, take some time out and lets sort this!

1 - Brain dump all the things that are swimming in your head!
2 - Organise it into which 'Hat' you need on to do the job!
3 - Prioritise each hat list it in order of what needs to be done depending on what is most important ( This is my priority order - 1 - what is needed to keep sales flowing sales, 2. customers and delivering on the work, 3 - other stuff)
3 - Take your planner and block out time to wear just one of the hats at a time (Stop trying to wear them all at once! )
4 - Work on the 3 most important tasks when you are in each zone only!

You can't multitask sorry its a myth!

You can't do everything on the list!

Ask yourself
Do I need to do it?
Can you ask someone else to do it?
What will happen if I don't do it?

Ditch what you can!
Scale back!
Stop putting out the fires first!

Everything can wait for you to be in the right place you don't have to do it all now!

Hope this helps

13 Jan 2021#60: Happiness & Horse Business - The Business Case for Happiness with Matthew Phelan00:35:05

Happiness & Horse Business - Why all businesses should Prioritise Happiness.

We all want to be happy.... but despite the pursuit of happiness so many of us find ourselves falling short or thinking it's unachievable.

We have removed emotions from work and business.

Choosing to push through, stay silent or think we aren't allowed to be happy in our jobs!

And for many of us entrepreneurs we often start our business with the desire that we want our life to be more fulfilled (or at least I did)!

In this episode, I talk with Matt Phelan, co-founder of the happiness index.

Who as Head of Global Happiness, entrepreneur, marketer, Matt who grew up on a farm and understands the challenges of entrepreneurs, corporate business and also rural business!

Having collated, studied and researched the data behind what makes people happy and whether it matters in business, Matt took what was his philosophy and is on a mission to improve business for all.

In his new book “Freedom to be Happy” Matt brings together philosophers, scientists and practitioners to make a business case for happiness and why it makes good business sense.

In the Equine Industry, it's hard!  Physically, mentally and emotionally and while we are often great at reading what our horses are telling us, but humans???? Well we are great at masking it, sweeping how we feel away and ignoring it! It’s time to stop! It matters, If we are happier, we will run better businesses, our clients will be happier, if we focus on staff happiness our horses will be better looked after! It’s not just a philosophy! The Data backs it up!

In a recent survey by the British Grooms Association, there is still much to improve see https://britishgrooms.org.uk/news/482/the-change-is-too-slow

In fact some of the statistics are VERY alarming.

We can do better, we all deserve the freedom to be happy.

24 Nov 2021#80: DISCOVER HOW TO RAISE THE BAR IN YOUR BUSINESS | 5 things to Audit NOW00:13:57

Do you find that you feel like you on a hamster wheel and not making progress?

Or perhaps you are collecting tactics, chasing the next shiny object

If you are new here welcome, I am Jenni Bush, Online business Consultant + Coach, helping you create stable yet galloping businesses on your termsThe #1 Reason You Should Audit Your Business

You deserve to have more time to you!

According to the Pareto Principle, only 20% of what we do is working on the things that move the needle 80% of things don't!  Audits will make sure you get on track, stay on track move the needle and give you your time back!

Now I have a business audit that I run clients through on a 1: 1 Basis, where I ask key strategic questions.  I am doing to take you through those steps

I will talk you through my process what I cover + why,  so you can audit your business

Now as a business consultant I have tools to or if you want to go through it with me and get your prioritised key action strategy I will share at the end how you can grab one for under £100

5  Steps to Audit your business

1 - RESEARCH find out if you have really done your research, are you really clear who your ideal soul fit Perfect Paying client is, do you know where they hang out, do you know how you standout from competitors etc.
2 - STRATEGY - Goals, vision, revenue, Business model, revenue, branding, messaging
3 - MARKETING - how is your marketing plan, does it run on evergreem like clock work, does it yield results
4 - OPERATIONS - do you have a company dashboard, SOP;s do they work, financial systems, team, time management
5 - ENERGY + MINDSET - is there anything else under lying that is stopping progress, imposter syndrome, beliefs, fears straying from mission etc.

Run through these 5 systems now, how do you fare?

This will help you discover what you need to really work on in your business.

Now my Audit Assessment helps to direct me to specific tools I have to help you.

Through this audit, I give you a prioritised action plan, so you can go away and work on strategic things or work with me on things like your stable manager system, marketing menage, transformation mounting block, or which specific energy clearing codes to release old blocks and patterns that haven't been serving you.

Based on your answers I can advise if my one-off leg up sessions will give you the solutions you need, whether Nail It Mastermind is a good fit or if working with me 1:1 in my Spur on Accelerator is the best fit.

Now another way to get a quick audit now is to do my FREE stable business secrets workshop have you got it.

If you'd like to know more about how I can help you with this, head to http://jennibush.com/latest
