The physical release of the Deck of Many things and Book of Many things have been indefinitely delayed until the production samples are of a high enough quality. MASSIVE crossover announcement from Wizards of the Coast! Magic the Gathering and Marvel will be releasing multiple products and SETS starting in 2025, a proposition we thought not possible given Disney's newest TCG Lorcana having released earlier this year! What are the implications of this newest MTG Universes Beyond project? The elemination of Set and Draft boosters in favor of the new "Play Booster". D&D's next product is actually EXPANDING the Deck of Many things. And as is always the case, we have some MTG set spoilers. This time for Universes Beyond Fallout!

Please allow us to gush about the amazing Magic the Gathering set spoilers for Lord of the Rings Tales of Middle Earth! We go over some of our favorite cards from this upcoming set, talk about leaks for the bonus Lord of the Rings x MTG set in November, Pathfinder 2e Remastered removing the Drow, and the Critical Role RPG systems for Daggerheart and Candela Obscura

We may have just gotten the biggest commander banlist update we've ever seen. Mana Crypt, Jeweled Lotus, Dockside Extortionist, and Nadu, Winged Wisdom all caught the Commander Rules Committee ban hammer. Dockside and Nadu were somewhat expected. Mana Crypt and Jeweled Lotus on the other hand were a shock.

 

Many are now very upset with the massive loss in value of their collections, many decks in cEDH are now simply no longer viable without access to this form of fast mana, and nearly everyone is upset with the commitee's very poor communication and are asking for change in how they go about discussing bans.

 

We also dive into the collection of Secret Lairs that have been recently announced, and Daggerheart going into pre-orders!

So the moment we posted the last episode of the Dungeon Bros Podcast, Wizards of the Coast posted some articles on D&D Beyond, saying they wanted to survey the audiences opinions about OGL 1.2. And due to Twitter being a cesspool of garbage, the would be Rules Committee was disbanded within two weeks. Does cEDH even need a Rules Committee? Were the issues levied at them fair? The Bros are not happy. But we do like the newly announced MCDM RPG crowdfunding campaign that met its goal in only 2 hours! Also, Amazon signs a deal with Games Workshop to create Warhammer 40k shows and movies being produced and starring the illustrious Henry Cavill!!!

OOOOOOOO BOY. Was anyone really surprised that the Secret Lair website only lasted 6 minutes before crashing for the Magic x Marvel drop? We certainly aren't. But there is much to discuss about the Limited run model for Secret Lairs, a brief recap of all the announcements out of Magic Con Las Vegas, and laughing at D&D Beyond for posting nearly all of the new Dungeon Masters Guide for FREE!

Wizards of the Coast President Cynthia Williams has filed with the SEC that she is resigning from her post effective THIS WEEK, and interestingly enough, right before the next quarterly earnings are made public... We go over her tenure and time with the company as well as discuss who would be a good replacement. We also have updates to Daggerhearts Beta systems, Larian Studios moving on from Baldur's gate, Modern Horizon's 3 Flip-walker leaks, Cowboy Bebop Promo cards for Standard events, D&D Converse collabs, and answer questions from the audience!

So have a tumultuous week for Magic the Gathering, the Commander Rules Committee has given over control of the commander format to the design team of Wizards of the Coast! This of course is a massive change to how the format is run, but is the community concern reasonable, or are they as usual overblowing the negative impact of this change?

We also get a look into the Competitive Commander Collective, also known as the second attempt at a cEDH rules committee. The D&D 5e 2024 Dungeon Masters Guide is being previewed, and PETA makes D&D subclasses now???

The controversial return of TSR seems to have finally come to an end, as they have filed for chapter 7 BANKRUPTCY after only having $621 in revenue for 2023 so far! Economists are saying that the TTRPG industry is going to DOUBLE in value by 2028, There is a new D&D cookbook, a Secret Zelda TTRPG, and Dimension 20 is going DRAG!

In a surprise to literally nobody, we find ourselves having to discuss a misinformed outrage, courtesy of an article on Wargamer! D&D Beyond is updating their content to reflect the new changes to the 2024 revision of the game. Despite the fact they are not, and never were, going to deleted the 2014 content, the people have been led to believe they were!

Magic the Gatherings yearly "State of Design" is in and much is what we expected. "Bonus Sheets good" "Detective mysteries on Ravnica bad", but we did learn something interesting! Universed Beyond Lord of the Rings cards are legally able to be reprinted?!?! Where is our One Ring?!
