30 Mar 2021133 Emma Burnell & The Cat Burglar00:55:11

The Drunk Women are, here again, swigging and solving till there's nothing left to swig or solve... this week they are joined by journalist and writer, Emma Burnell!

Emma stars us off by talking about a crime that has many possible culprits, but is the family dog REALLY in the clear? And what should be done about the neighborhood cat burglar? The gang then gets involved with a crime that is as audacious as they come and then rounds everything off with some much-needed atonement from one lucky listener.

01 Jul 202096 Fortune Feimster & The Mile-High Misdemeanour00:46:16

In this week's episode, the team go stateside for their latest recruit: comedian Fortune Feimster!. Fortune brings some serious insight to a crime which would have lesser detectives well and truly stumped. The gang discuss the different ways a crime can be committed in a plane, how long it's acceptable to hide in the toilets to get a break from your kids, and how many typists is acceptable to have with you whilst travelling.

Fortune shares a crime which most people wouldn't be a victim of after the year 2008, as well as accidentally blowing a listener's alibi wide open. Check out Fortune's Netflix special Sweet and Salty, and find out more about her at https://www.fortunefeimster.com/

18 Dec 201970 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE AT CHRISTMAS: With Rachel Parris00:57:35

IT'S CHRISSSSSTMAASSSSS! So what better way to get in the festive spirit than joining the Drunk Women and comedian Rachel Parris for a night of fizz and true-crime-frolics in London's glittering Leicester Square Theatre!

The team also grapple with the theft of a diamond bigger than a Christmas bauble and linked to one of the world's biggest film stars.

Rachel reveals that she's a magnet for anyone wanting to steal a musical instrument and we hear from audience member (and birthday girl ) Laura who is perplexed at the theft of a wicker crate .... no really.

The Drunk Women are taking a break over the festive season (to hone their drinking skills) and will be back to ruin Dry January on 8th January 2020, until then we'd like to thank all our amazing listeners for a wonderful 2019 and wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year.

See you in 2020!

Cheers ears! X

07 Nov 201812 Louise Wener, Real Life Batman & A Fish Called Nutcase00:42:27

Music legend and part-time detective Louise Wener grabbed a four-pack and swooped in to assist the Drunk Women with a case known by many as 'The Bat Man Case' (a side note, those of you cohabiting with a partner might want to check the attic occasionally). Louise displays top sleuthing skills when she helps a listener get to the bottom of what happened to her goldfish and if her student days are anything to go by, her forensic abilities were probably acquired later in life.

Don't forget to put your unsolved crime in a review and upcoming guests may be able to solve it!

19 May 2021140 Sally-Anne Hayward's Imposter Syndrome00:58:57

It's all hands on deck this week, as comedian and podcaster, Sally-Anne Hayward joins the elite force of note-takers, and provides some dazzling insights about the logistics around imposter syndrome, we also hear about the time she felt judged by a thief and what the world was like before suitcases were mounted on wheels (grim).

The gang then get together to dissect a crime which is possibly a more elaborate way of saying 'the dog ate my homework'.

11 Nov 2020115 MEN'S MONTH: Tom Allen01:03:17

As Men's Month continues through lockdown part 2 - what better way to spend it than in the company of comedian, presenter and author, Tom Allen!

The team welcome Tom with open arms and provide some much needed trauma counselling for a wrong he has lived with since his school days - if the perpetrator happens to be listening to this episode, they will surely feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves!

We then hear about a case in which it's more likely you'll know the musical it's based on, rather than the story itself, so listen to this and amaze your friends with some very strong quiz worthy facts.

We then, as always, get to solve a listener crime, which this week, features a lady who has shutters on her windows - which shows that our audience must be of the highest calibre!

See the Drunk Women LIVE on 15th December 2020 at The Clapham Grand in London!

12 Dec 201817 Sofie Hagen, Half-Hang It Maggie & The Family Jewels00:44:35

Comedian and podcaster Sofie Hagen joined the Drunk Women to quaff unpronounceable beer and kick us off with a crime of her own from Denmark worthy of top billing on ANY true crime podcast.

The Drunk Women then tackle the tale of Maggie Dickson - if it sounds familiar, you probably read it on the back of a pub menu in Edinburgh (which is how Hannah gets most of her historical knowledge).

As always the trio and their beer guzzling guest solve one of your listener crimes. Though in this case, listener David and his family could have solved it for themselves if they'd been arsed to get up from their sun loungers.

29 Jan 202074 Sally Abbott & The Deadly Detox00:56:46

In this episode, The Drunk Women are joined by a lady who has been writing TV crime drama for so long, she's sure to help us get into the mind of any perpetrator - it's screenwriter and super sleuth, Sally Abbott!

Sally talks us through some of the crimes which have coincided with key moments in her life AND tells us about some techniques used to get prisoners to feel empathy for their victims - fascinating stuff.

The gang then hear about a woman who would no doubt have a huge Insta following today, as she peddled a detox regimen - which had deadly results.

This week's listener crime sounds like a very narrow escape for one savvy lady, and her knowledge of what kind of shovel is used for clearing snow may well have saved her life!

27 Jan 2021123 DWSC LIVE: With Michelle De Swarte01:08:59

This episode of DWSC is the second live stream show the team took to the glorious Clapham Grand in London in December 2020.

Although there was no live audience, hundreds of fans joined them on the live stream to watch the action take place - and it's not too late for you to do the same, as the video is now available on the DWSC Patreon, just go to: patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime to see Hannah, Taylor and Catie in all their glory - alongside special guest, actor and comedian, Michelle De Swarte.

Michelle recounts a crime in which the perpetrator saw more than Michelle's soul, the gang then grab another bottle each to get to the nub of a story involving a chancer of epic proportions, and finally we hear from a listener who is still smarting from a false accusation levelled at her during her school days ....

10 Jun 202093 Jo Caulfield & The Self Anointed Saint00:45:08

The virtual fun continues this week, as the team welcome comedian and unreliable witness, Jo Caulfield to help solve a historical crime from the archives.

Jo proves she's no stranger to getting justice served to those who do wrong, but she may have inadvertently had Danny DeVito arrested by mistake...

But her knowledge of the inner workings of the church prove invaluable in this week's story of self-appointed sainthood and psychopathy... so just a normal day in lock-down for our swigging detectives.

19 Dec 201818 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE - With Suzi Ruffell00:44:09

The Drunk Women went back to the Pleasance Theatre in London, armed with a crate of gin, a little festive cheer and comedian Suzi Ruffell - who also lent her considerable sleuthing abilities to the occasion. Guest Suzi kicks things off with a crime against mindfulness, whilst host Hannah presents a case which will never let you view Santa in the same way. To round things off an audience member shares a past mystery, which had it happened in more recent times would have had a VERY different ending!

Suzi is on tour February, March, April & May 2019 - for tickets visit: suziruffell.com.

10 Feb 2021125 Juliet Meyers & The Mail Train Terror01:04:06

It's time for another dose of Drunk Women and this week comedian, Juliet Meyers -with trusty sidekick Homer (the worlds best dog detective) - joins Taylor, Catie and Hannah to sleuth their way through this week's crime, which is set in NEBRASKA of all places, plus there's a connection to a crime featured in a past episode.

Juliet starts proceedings with sharing some past criminal activities, which could very well be down to needing a few more Spanish lessons .. although that's doubtful.

We then round things-off with a listener crime against a mum's cardigan!

01 May 201937 Deborah Frances-White & Fighting Your Way Out Of A Paper Bag00:54:44

In this episode, the Drunk Detectives uncover the dark arts of the plagiarist in a case which leaves you guessing till the last moment.

This week's guest, comedian, podcaster & writer Deborah Frances-White turned-up with her own bottle of vodka and discovered a whole new way of working! She also demonstrates that she'll do ANYTHING to keep her make-up bag safe.

And we find out once and for all if Hannah's Nan worked in a windmill or not...

19 Feb 202077 Saima Ferdows & A Right, Royal Gem of a Heist00:55:39

This episode welcomes comedy director & producer Saima Ferdows to our ever expanding force and what an asset she is.

We start by hearing about a crime committed against Saima which could unleash a podcast called 'Drunk Women COMMITTING Crime'. It's then of course time to get into the work of a ne'er-do-well from history, in this instance the criminal attempted a confidence trick of royal proportions, hitting the victim in more than just The Crown Jewels - despite some abysmal planning skills.

The gang then solve a crime sent in by a listener, for which both Saima and Hannah can offer some empathy.

07 Jul 2021147 Sajeela Kershi & The Acid Test01:01:38

Welcome to another episode of Drunk Women Solving Crime, where this week comedian Sajeela Kershi recounts just a run-of-the-mill crime that she found herself caught up in, it's hardly a story .... JOKING!! Sajeela's story is the absolute epitome of drama! It's the stuff of films and we are SO lucky to have her on the show to share it with us.

Once you've caught your breath from that, we then hear about a story that is the acid test of our detective's abilities.

We then hear from a listener who needs some clarification of a mugger's intentions.

This episode was released during the Euro Championships on the day England face Denmark in the semis (f'nar) and so Taylor decided that this week's Patreon shout-outs should reflect some sports-ball fever. 05 Aug 2020101 Synchronising With Viv Groskop01:06:23

In this week's episode, the Drunk Women welcome a guest who has ALL the smarts to be a top detective; it's writer, comedian and podcaster, Viv Groskop!

Although Viv doesn't hail from the big city, she grew up having to keep her wits about her on the mean streets of Somerset in order to provide key statements to the local police - as you will hear.

These foundation skills enable Viv to ask all the right questions and get to the nub of it all... whilst the others do what they do best... basically most of the stuff that Viv does but with about 6 drinks inside of them. All together though, they make quite a team and do a pretty thorough job in solving a case which had dire consequences for thousands of people on one fateful day.

We then hear from a listener who needs a mystery solving which only brings home to the rest of us how stingy our Aunties actually are.

29 Apr 202087 An Education With Lizzie Roper00:50:33

This episode of Drunk Women Solving Crime is an education in SO many ways...we find out that Guernsey produces a very, very special type of rum, that almost every adult male who visited Madame Tussaud's during the early 2000s probably has a photo of themselves being inappropriate with the Kylie waxwork, and that this week's guest, the hilarious Lizzie Roper REALLY knows how to enjoy herself in a reclining chair!

The gang then dive into a crime from history which inspired one of the greatest fictional sleuths of all time and shows that no good ever came of a trip to the woods... to find out more check out Daniel Smith’s book- https://blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/product/The-Ardlamont-Mystery-by-Daniel-Smith-author/9781782438458

24 Jun 202095 Jane Fallon: Unreliable Witness00:49:51

It's another day in lockdown, but that's not gonna stop The Drunk Women from smashing a case, whilst getting smashed over Zoom.

Joining them this week is bestselling author Jane Fallon, who despite not showing early promise as a reliable witness, certainly went on to prove her sleuthing-smarts, as she provides the kind of observations worthy of someone at the top of the force.

This week's case involves a 'power couple' of crime and although Jane wouldn't notice them actually committing a felony, she'd certainly be able to spot them in a line up.

The team then go on to hear about a listener crime which also displays some pretty stunning (if rather dangerous) crime solving skills!

Who says you can't bring your A-game whilst drinking?

25 Sep 201958 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Isma Almas00:44:06
In this episode from the Drunk Women's run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the brilliant Isma Almas joined them to dissect a cold case, which took place north of the border. 15 Apr 202085 The Drunk Women & The Duel00:47:18

It's the first episode in the 'brave new world' of recording, as the Drunk Women get their tech savvy nieces & nephews to hook them up to some super smart conferencing software, so the gang can continue to solve crimes whilst drinking in the comfort of their own homes.

There are lots of amazing guests booked in over the coming weeks, but the feeling at Drunk Women Towers was to kick this temporary style of recording off with just Catie, Taylor & Hannah, so we can all get used to it together.

This means we get the added treat of hearing from each of our hosts when THEY'VE been the victim of a crime, proving that crimes even happen to top detectives!

We then get into a case, which you'd need to get up early in the morning to solve ... dawn to be precise (that will be funny once you've listened to the episode).

As these strange times continue, don't forget to check out the Drunk Women on social media;

You can find them as @drunkwomenpod and on Insta @drunkwomensolvingcrime where they do regular live quizzes!

The next one is on Tuesday 21st April at 8pm, so bring a bottle and join-in!

27 Mar 201932 Hannah Dunleavy, Big Bertha & Where There's Smoke...00:49:10

Podcaster, articulate drinker & whiskey fiend Hannah Dunleavy cheated on her 'Standard Issue' chums to help the Drunk Women solve a crime of epic proportions. At least, the size of the perpetrator was epic according to history, hence the name 'Big Bertha,’ who had a silver tongue when it came to getting people to buy whatever she was selling, regardless of whether it was hers to sell in the first place. Guest Hannah also tells a tale of her own in which she got to use some questionable self-defense tactics taught to her by her dad and this week's listener crime sets the team's sleuthing skills a-blaze!

10 Jul 201947 Caroline Mabey Points The Finger00:51:54

It's probably wise not to eat your dinner during parts of this episode, as comedian Caroline Mabey tells the Drunk Women about the time she found something unsavoury in a tent and also shares the best thing to say to a would-be mugger.

The crew dig into a crime which turned out to be the catalyst for a pioneering way of gathering evidence - which is still the first port of how we might catch a criminal today. AND we hear about the time Hannah breathed on the bottom of her neighbours' patio window... but we never find out WHY. 24 Mar 2021132 Nina Conti, Dispenser of Bikes00:55:18

In this episode of DWSC, the gang is joined by brilliant comedian and ventriloquist, Nina Conti!

Nina gets the ball rolling with some tales from her own life, which prove she has been 'saddled' with more than enough true crime already!

She then helps the others crack a rather dark case which ended-up shaping the way the law is enforced forever.

As always, we have a listener crime to solve at the end, but there's some speculation that there has been some embellishment on the story through the years...you decide!

The Drunk Women will be presenting a specially recorded show from The Clapham Grand on Saturday 27th March 2021!

Special guest Shazia Mirza (with added Jayde Adams!!) joined Taylor, Catie, and Hannah a couple of weeks ago to record the show and the Drunk Women will be on the Youtube Chat whilst the show is streamed, so you can watch along together! For info and tickets go to - claphamgrand.com

16 Dec 2020120 In The Dog House, with Sara Barron.00:58:26

When it comes to drunken, true-crime solving, you can't keep a good woman down - something we already knew in regards to hosts, Catie, Hannah and Taylor, but we also now know to be true of comedian Sarah Barron, who agreed to join-in with the semi-sloshed sleuthing for today's episode.

Sara started-off with a warning for any new parents, that the sheer exhaustion of a new baby can invite crime into your life (that and having a word doc named 'passwords' on the desktop of your laptop).

The crew then bit-down into a case in which the perpetrator's life path had also seemingly pushed them into a slipstream of criminal activity, which was so out of character, it's difficult not to have some degree of empathy - especially if you're a a fan of dogs!

The ladies then give some closure to a listener who cannot be sure if they've been the victim of a crime ...spoiler alert, they probably were.

Don't forget to send your crimes that need solving to The Drunk Women ...they certainly won't make it worse: drunkwomensolvingcrime@gmail.com

08 Jul 202097 Dr Nidhi Gupta & The Unfit Husband01:02:21

We all know that crime busting and the medical profession go hand-in-hand, after-all where would Holmes be without his Dr Watson?

The cop in Diagnosis Murder wouldn't solve ANYTHING without his dad, Dr Dick Van-Dyke and don't get me STARTED on Quincy!

Well, this week's episode of DWSC sees our sloshed sleuths welcome their very own Watson in the form of (non-drunken) Doctor Nidhi Gupta to the force.

Nidhi is a film maker and writer and took the unexpected step of returning to front line medicine to work on the Covid 19 wards - contracting the virus herself whilst saving the lives of others. It was during this time that she became victim of perhaps the most cowardly crime EVER committed, as you'll hear for yourself.

Our doctor / detective team then go-on to solve a crime which ends-up implicating those at the very top of society...it's a scenario which wouldn't look too out of place today.

Talking about history repeating itself, Nidhi also talks about her amazing crowd fund project to make a film about how we can learn from past catastrophes, look here for more info:-

04 Aug 2021151 Hatty Ashdown - We Had Her At 'Farmer'01:08:25

To say the gang was excited to welcome this week's guest is a complete understatement, as comedian Hatty Ashdown is a good friend of the entire DWSC team and a cracking detective to boot!

Hatty joins us with a tale in which you can decide if she was the victim of a stealth-like grifter, or whether good ol' English manners (repression) was the real perpetrator?

Either way, this story is an education in many other ways which you are unlikely to forget.

The team then digs deep into a case, the location of which gets Catoe cock-a-hoop and will have you booking a trip to St Albans in a flash ... just watch out for spooky goings-on on the A5.

And this week's listener crime is a story that is genuinely the start of pretty much every horror movie ever made ...

And the girls are back in town! As we reach into December 2020, the Drunk Women once again welcome back the regular all female line-up and joining them to solve some crime and get tipsy is actor Kellie Shirley, who starts-off by giving us all a cautionary tale of trying too hard to impress a prospective love interest.

The team then pour a large one before poring over a case which although had the doctors of the time perplexed, is one our gals can see straight through - some pretty impressive (and drunk) detective work in play here.

We then round-things-off with a listener crime which will leave you feline good.

04 Sep 201955 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Jena Friedman00:47:30

In this episode, the gang enlist a sleuth from across-the-pond, in the form of comedian, writer and producer Jena Friedman!

Jena and Taylor explore the stark contrast of the UK Bobby and the NYPD (definitely not a good idea to invite them into your apartment for a drink!) and the group crack the case of a man who proved (almost) impossible to murder!

Plus, one lucky audience member really earns their DWSC umbrella when he shares a time he was a victim of a rather harrowing crime.

17 Oct 201809 Felicity Montagu , Dr Crippen, Master Of Disguise & A Peacock Called Captain00:43:33
Star of Alan Partridge, Felicity Montagu rocked-up on the eve of her birthday to help our drunken detectives comb-over some astonishing details of the very famous case of Dr Crippen, whose mastery of disguise leaves a lot to be desired . With her no-nonsense approach to criminals, Felicity shows that she's no easy target when it comes to crime and quickly gets promoted when she deftly cracks the case of 'Captain' the missing peacock ...probably the most middle-class crime anyone has ever had to solve.

18 Aug 2021153 Laurita Blewitt's Mime & Crime Masterclass00:59:12

Joining the force today is a lady who appears to be no stranger to solving some true crime, its presenter, podcaster, and campaigner, Laurita Blewitt!

Laurita starts us off with a tale that demonstrates whilst CCTV may be invaluable to catching those up to no good, it also serves as evidence of epic crimes on the dance floor ... a chilling thought.

The team then artfully sift through an enigmatic criminal act using the skill of mime ... which is surprisingly effective on a podcast.

We then hear from a listener whose story has strikingly similar tones to the one told by Laurita ... spooky!

Titley, who takes us on a journey to Funderland when she divulges the details of a criminal act.

17 Jun 202094 Jo Elvin & The Witness In The Family00:59:26

In today's episode of Drunk Women Solving Crime, journalist Jo Elvin brings something to this case that no other guest could.

It's taken many attempts to get Jo on the show and if one of the other occasions had worked-out, this fantastic coincidence would have never come into being; to find out just how she's connected to a bank robbery in 1950s Sydney, you'll have to listen!

Jo also tells us about the time an altercation with a woman who could be The Queen still keeps her awake at night, and the team also solve a listener mystery which proves that there's always an 'evil' twin.

Before everyone knuckled down to solve a case which will have the gentrified inhabitants of a particular London borough wondering if this could affect their house prices, Beth recounted a time she barely noticed she was victim of a crime (although the story was particularly triggering for one member of the DWSC team, see below).

We then hear a listener story at the end of the show, in which the criminals involved certainly made a meal of their misdemeanour!

Come and see the Drunk Women at their London Residency and you can also watch them from home when they do their next two Zoom records on May 5th and May 18th!

MESSAGE FROM PRODUCER AMANDA

Hello lovely listeners, Producer Amanda here.

I'm writing this exactly one week after I came home to find my flat burgled and have since been processing the loss of those irreplaceable items given to me by people no longer here for me to hug.

But, all the support I received from far and wide really has been a huge help, not least the understanding from DWSC fans that we were unable to put out last week's episode, after my laptop was one of the casualties of the robbery.

I was so touched at how fully everyone embraced our famed #FemaleWorkplace along with Hannah, Taylor & Catie, whom I'm lucky enough not to just call colleagues, but three of my very best friends, in fact they were among the first people I turned to when I arrived home that day and they of course showed me the love and support I have received from them countless times since I was lucky enough to start my working relationship with them (I'm still waiting for them to solve it though, maybe it could be a future case).

I've also been so touched at the kindness and understanding from the DWSC family of listeners, patreons and past guests, who have reached out to offer me support - one guy even received a twitter ban for expressing his disgust at my perpetrator - it would appear chivalry is very much alive in our gang, and that we are part of a very special tribe.... which you'll NEVER leave, UNDERSTAND?!

We'll be back with a bang this Wednesday with a fantastic episode featuring the brilliant Beth Morrey, which is well and truly worth the wait.

Once again, all my love and thanks for your patience and if you join us on a live Zoom, or theatre show (dates to be announced SOON) I'll show my gratitude by doing a reverse strip tease for you on an individual basis, I'll start off fully clothed, but will slowly add more layers, whilst dancing to 90s R&B and maintaining eye contact throughout ...it'll be a lot of fun.

Producer Amanda Xx

14 Aug 201952 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Lucie Pohl00:46:26

In this second episode from their sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Drunk Women enlisted the help of US comic and video game star, Lucie Pohl.

Lucie’s crime is brought to you from the mean streets of NYC, where she developed a rather strange relationship with her muggers.

The detectives get to grips with a case from history, which will make all left-handed, redhead, female midwives VERY glad they weren't around during the reign of King James.

And the audience crime comes from someone very familiar to the world of podcasting - and to our Catie.

You can also see The Drunk Women live, along with Deborah Frances -White when they perform as part of the Guilty Feminist Crossover Season.

Drunk Guilty Feminists Solving Crime will appear at Kings Place, York Road, London on Sunday Sept 2nd at 9pm.

13 Mar 201930 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE - with Hannah Witton00:47:12

Recorded as part of The Vaults Festival for International Women's Day 2019, The Drunk Women were joined by author, YouTuber and sex educator Hannah Witton.

As it was IWD, the team crack the case of a Countess, whose gory beauty routine gives a whole new meaning to 'blood thirsty' ... no one tell Gwyneth Paltrow!

Detective Witton proves herself to be not only a brilliant sleuth, but slippery when pursued by an assailant, the international crowd lend some much needed expertise in pronunciations and we debate the ways a person can be sown onto a horse.

Many thanks to Child.Org and Team Mum for a great night - you can still donate at:

And thank you so much to Hannah Witton for being a tremendous guest:

17 Apr 201935 Jenny Bede, A Wild West Murder & Chicken Trauma00:47:53

In this episode (which no one can remember recording) the evidence of some brilliant crime cracking and an epic evening at Drunk Women Towers is here for you to... errr... hear.

Comedian, actor & writer Jenny Bede showed what a pro she was, by doing just enough pre-drinking to ensure she wasn't behind the curve of her fellow sleuths and for helping the others get-to-grips with some grisly murders, Wild West style.

Jenny also shared a crime, which is unusual, harrowing and will make you think twice before having the window view in a restaurant and this week's listener crime will have anyone called 'Alan' looking over their shoulder.

Also the Drunk Women are going to the Edinburgh Fringe 2019!

06 May 202088 Laura Lexx & The Case of The Gun Wielding Granny00:56:23

The Drunk Women are back with an epic ride of a story which takes-in a landscape ranging from incompetent intruders, to prohibition, with adventures across land and sea and a debate on whether turning a women upside down and shaking her is less humane if she's of retirement age...I mean it probably is, but we'll let you decide for yourself.

Helping to make all of this happen is comedian Laura Lexx who recounts a tale from her youth involving the most time efficient flasher in history!

04 Dec 201968 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Kerry Howard01:04:03

Although at the time of release we're all gearing-up for Christmas, the team at Drunk Women Towers invite you to cast your minds back to Halloween 2019 when our tipsy trio boarded the ghost train to foggy Corsham so they could bring Drunk Women Solving Crime to the West Country.

You just need to know that because they all talk about being dressed up at the start, but other than that it could be any drunken evening, as the team dive into the life of a confidence trickster whose story became a blockbusting film... don't try to guess what the film is at this stage, because it's really annoying - all will be revealed.

As usual they enlist the help of a star super-sleuth and so the wonderful actor, writer and right good laff Kerry Howard engaged her little grey cells and pretty much solved it (along with a woman in the audience who clearly LOVES the film of the story).

Huge thanks to all at the Pound Arts Centre, Corsham for supplying a fine wine cellar and for their hospitality.

Don't forget to check drunkwomensolvingcrime.com for show listings (some in Spring 2020 to be announced) and for exclusive Drunk Women Solving Crime merch!

16 Jun 2021144 Vix Leyton & The Cliff-Hanger01:07:53

This week's episode sees Taylor, Hannah and Catie welcome a guest, who has been on the force since the very start, it's comedian and honorary Drunk Woman, Vix Leyton!

Vix gets us going with a couple of tales that every female who happens to be listening will be all too familiar with, plus we hear about what has to be the WORST opening line to a date EVER. We are then taken on a gripping journey of a crime, which although seems to happen mostly in the pub, also has to be the very epitome of the term cliff-hanger.

The listener crime then takes us to Canada to help find a missing phone.

The Drunk Women are on the verge of a VERY exciting announcement, so keep watching this space - but if you want to know what all the excitement is before the rest of the world, then sign-up to their Patreon page patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime - where you can sign-up for extra content, videos, and shout-outs!

12 Feb 202076 Iszi Lawrence & A Daughter's Revenge00:56:08

The Drunk Women welcome comedian, writer and broadcaster Iszi Lawrence to the force this week and what a stroke of luck that she happens to be a natural detective .. even after a carafe of vino. In this episode, the team delve into a case which sees a daughter take some pretty gruesome revenge for her dad's rather gruesome end (although did he not bring that on himself?) and we learn once and for all, that history is 'really much worse than you can imagine'...

Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE throughout spring 2020:

They are appearing at The Vaults Festival, London on March 8th for IWD ( all proceeds go to child.org)

17 Feb 2021126 Erika Ehler & The Village of The Damned00:58:30

Welcome to another episode of Drunk Women Solving Crime, where the wonders of technology allow us to connect with Canadian-based comedian, Erika Ehler! Although Erika usually resides in the UK, lockdown has seen her back with her parents in Toronto, but luckily the time difference didn't stop her from cracking open a can and cracking some key details in a case where a whole village feels the effects of wrongdoing, with some living in fear as a result. But, before that Erika recounts an incident that taught her an early lesson about the realities of human nature. The team then hears from a listener who has clearly landed on her feet!

14 Jul 2021148 Grace Petrie & The Good Sport00:56:38

Thank goodness for Wednesdays, as that means our favorite crime-solving sleuths drop into our podcast feeds bringing with them another recruit to the force, this week it's singer, songwriter Grace Petrie!

Grace starts off proceedings with some stories that prove her credentials as a reluctant crime fighter after police seemingly mistake her as a law enforcer in her own right. We then get to hear about a prolific criminal who in their own way just wanted to make the world a better place ... could this be the most adorable villain ever?

And this week's listener crime is an education for all of us and only goes to prove, that teachers are sometimes a law onto themselves.

03 Jul 201946 Jo Middleton, Cuthbert & A Lesson In Metric vs Imperial00:49:46

Fabulous blogger, Jo Middleton - otherwise known as 'Slummy Single Mummy' came armed with a thirst for gin and an inquiring mind as she helps the Drunk Women get to the bottom of a war time spy story, in which one of the characters gives a rather wooden performance.

We also hear that Jo - despite her efforts - has, thankfully avoided most crimes, but is however the continual victim of a very 21st century phenomenon. And this week's listener crime had a very colourful perpetrator.

23 Oct 201962 Martina Cole, Father-Son Murder & Stolen Nail Varnish00:40:27

This episode sees the Drunk Women back in the studio, with a crate of prosecco and a crime to solve, so they decided to call on a lady who creates crime in her brain for the entertainment of others - best selling crime writer, Martina Cole!

Martina kicks things off with a petty crime committed in her youth, which lead to a VERY public punishment and then lends her considerable crime smarts to help get to the bottom of a case in which was possibly caused by religious fervour, or just an extremely bad father/ship.

Come and see The Drunk Women LIVE!

18 Mar 202081 Margaret Cabourn-Smith & Boop Boop Be Doop01:02:39

Back in the days when everyone could shake-hands and sit in the same room as each other, lovely actor, podcaster and comedian Margret Caborn-Smith dropped into Drunk Women Towers and told some disturbing tales of 'crime-negging' which have befallen her AND some of her friends.

The team then look into a case of plagiarism which implicates one of the pioneering characters of the silver screen, whist along the way, we hear about some strange crushes held by our drunk detectives, including a fictional anthropomorphised car ...

The gang then attempt to solve a crime from a listener, who needs help after someone taught their son some rather inappropriate language...

28 Nov 201815 Lou Sanders, The Mother Of All Criminals & Stolen Bermuda Shorts00:41:47

Comedian and fun-time cop Lou Sanders dropped by to help get to the bottom of the case of Fredericka Mandelbaum - a maternal criminal mastermind who opened her very own school for criminals! In this episode there are life lessons galore ... horses CAN wear trousers, DON'T buy weed in Paris and NEVER leave your Bermuda shorts unattended at a Pontins.

As always pop your true crime stories in an iTunes review and the half-cut-heroes will get them solved.

23 Jan 201923 Wendy Wason, The Red Wallet & Charles Manson's Forgotten Victim00:39:13

For the Drunk Women, this episode provides a whiff of nostalgia, as it was recorded in the heady days of Summer '18; when temperatures were high, the beer was tepid and guest Wendy Wason wafted-in like a breath of fresh air to get to the bottom of one of the most notorious criminals of the 20th century - Charles Manson.

Everyone knows that the Manson 'Family' embarked on a gruesome killing spree, which shook Tinsel Town to its very core - but, fewer know about a previous victim of Manson's which gave some vital clues about his psychopathic tendencies.

We also learn there's a time and a place for posting pictures of an intimate nature - and the PTA Whatsapp group isn't it apparently.

AND although we don't usually let men in - Tom Cruise has a cameo in this episode, so enjoy!

28 Jul 2021150 Jackie Weaver Wins Cluedo01:15:11

This week we are joined by the lady with ALL the authority, Jackie Weaver!

It won't come as a surprise to those of you familiar with Jackie's oeuvre to hear that not only is she whip-smart at solving other people's crimes, but also managed to facedown the person who was behind a criminal act she fell victim to... I'll bet they were shaking in their boots.

The team then joins forces to crack a case that will leave you with a weird craving for American fast food, then, this week's listener crime gets no sympathy from Jackie as their life choices come under some scrutiny... you can't blame her for being harsh, she does have the authority after-all.

The DWSC residency at The Museum of Comedy in London continues with tickets selling fast for 31st August 2021, joining Taylor, Catie and Hannah are guests Ania Magliano and Sarah Kendall - for info, tickets, and other dates, go to museumofcomedy.com.

11 Mar 202080 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Andi Osho00:53:36

The Drunk Women love being able to spend International Women's Day together and so decided to do a live show as part of the Vaults Festival, also raising money for child.org and joining them to do all of this was actor, comedian and writer, Andi Osho!

Andi's own crime story could have easily been a plot in a James Bond novel and showed that most villains would have to get up early to have one over on her, which she also went on to demonstrate when Hannah presented a case involving a woman who inspired celebrity status for her confidence tricks - which are truly awe inspiring.

The evening was rounded-off nicely by an audience member sharing a mystery of a missing engagement ring.... which actually could still be in her bag to be fair.

28 Aug 201954 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Sukh Ojla00:51:03

The Edinburgh Fringe may have just finished for another year, but the Drunk Women are reliving those heady days through this very podcast!

You can join them in their reverie of the time they were joined by comedian, actor & writer Sukh Ojla in front of a packed-out crowd, to solve a crime involving another badass woman that history forgot.

Sukh tells us about the date which was a crime against romance and this week's audience crime shows that some villains have real staying power.

03 Jun 202092 Fern Britton & The Family Feud01:06:05

In today's episode, Catie, Hannah and Taylor welcome a very special detective to the force, who turned up in her dressing gown, notebook in hand and rocked the investigation - it's presenter and author, Fern Britton!

As well as having the grey matter to solve the case and proving time and again that she's a step ahead of the game, she also spills the beans about the time she was duped by tricksters LIVE on TV!

We then get to investigate a crime with a myriad of suspects - all from the same tight-knit family, which also includes some dubious medical advice .... should you be prescribed whisky for a liver complaint? Unless you're taking notes a la Fern, you're not taking this seriously enough!

The gang also make light work of cracking this week's listener crime ...who says alcohol dulls the senses

21 Aug 201953 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Alice Fraser00:50:15

As the Drunk Women carry on through their sloshed-sleuthing odyssey of the Edinburgh Fringe, they brought in comic, podcaster and ex-lawyer Alice Fraser to bring her legal experience to proceedings.

Alice shares the time sheer bravado let her escape being mugged in New York, the gang get to the bottom of a case which is the very definition of 'cold' (it happened in the snow), and a member of the sold-out audience was brave enough to come up and earn his 'Drunk Women' umbrella by sharing his own crime story - although you could argue that the gentleman’s brother ended up the real victim.

30 Jun 2021146 Isy Suttie and The Culture War By Proxy01:05:56

The Drunk Women welcome another note-taker to the force this week in the form of writer, comedian, and actor, Isy Suttie!

Isy starts things off with a harrowing tale, which only goes to prove that you can't even trust a virgin - something Madonna should have warned us of in that song.

The team then put their heads together to crack a case that throws up subjects from HG Wells NOT being the inventor of science fiction and if Woody Woodpecker was ever President of the United States.

This week's listener crime is a whodunnit, which has an epic cast of suspects and in this week's Patreon shout-outs, Taylor rectifies a crime perpetrated against our very own members, to cinematic effect.

08 Apr 202084 Monica Heisey & Spring-Heeled Jack01:03:38

In the final 'throwback' edition, the Drunk Women were joined by Canadian writer and comic, Monica Heisey. Monica bookends this episode beautifully with two occasions she was the victim of a crime - and she's probably the MOST empathetic 'victim' to have ever featured on the show.

The gang then explore the murky world of 'Spring-Heeled Jack' whose baffling method of abusing his victims prompts many an interesting theory from the drunken detectives.

We also find out that Hannah's family opt for a rather unorthodox parlour game on Christmas Day...

Although the Drunk Women won't be together for a little while, episodes will be continuing and some fantastic guests have agreed to join-in on the drunkest, most crimey video conferencing to occur during the time of self-isolation.

Stay safe and see you next week! X

02 Jun 2021142 Alexis Strum & The Escape From Down Under01:08:24

In this week's episode of Drunk Women Solving Crime, Hannah, Catie, and Taylor are delighted to welcome to the force a lady who can sniff out a criminal and solve a case even if she's stuck on the other side of a locked door, it's actor and presenter, Alexis Strum!

Alexis opens the show with a bizarre tale that will have you taking notes on how such a situation should be dealt with. The team then discusses a case which could lead to the finding out that John Lennon and Paul McCartney were part of an audacious plot ....or it could just be two other fellas called John and Paul.

And then, as always, we hear from a listener who has a crime itch that needs scratching, and this week, it looks like they actually get the mystery solved for them!

23 Jun 2021145 Rachel Creeger & The Boo Box01:20:47

The Drunk Women are here again and joining them this week is writer and podcaster, Rachel Creeger!

Rachel starts things off with a story of fraudulent doings, which were perpetrated by a criminal so inept, they didn't even bother with a cursory google!

We then have a smorgasbord of true crime delicacies served up by Hannah, including a tale of workhouse woe, a lesson in piracy protocol and finally, find out how to pronounce depot.

We also get a visit to a spoken word club in this week's patron shout outs and finally, the team helps a listener get to the bottom of a mucky misdemeanor.

07 Apr 2021134 Sara Pascoe & The Initiation Ceremony01:06:42

The Drunk Women were filled with glee when the brilliant comedian Sara Pascoe agreed to join the force and proved to be in the elite group of those who make notes, this lady means business.

Sara starts things off with a personal story that proves you should never trust a man called 'Kavin' and that no crime is worth ruining a holiday for.

The gang then makes us all an offer we can't refuse by letting us all play along and solve a case which should be a film script...but not one Sara would watch.

And then, as always we hear from a listener, who gets some tough love from the newly ordained Detective Pascoe.

25 Aug 2021154 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Kirsten O'Brien00:48:27

What's this? The Drunk Women LIVE and unleashed? With an audience???

Hell yeah, the gang are back in the wild and were greeted by a full crowd at the first of their London residencies at The Museum of Comedy!

The first guest to take to the stage was presenter and podcaster, Kirsten O'Brien, who although still damp from being caught in a summer flash storm on her way in, still managed to wow the crowd with her tales of crime-fighting and skills in sleuthing.

The team crack-into a story about a swindler with more ambition than the average grifter, AND we hear from a member of the audience, whose dad probably should feature during DWSC men's month.

It was a great night and you can join in the fun too - just go to museumofcomedy.com for info and tickets.

01 Sep 2021DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Janine Harouni 00:57:03

In this riotous episode, we see Taylor, Hannah, and Catie back in front of an audience at The Museum of Comedy in London, where comedian Janine Harouni joined them for gin and tonics a-plenty with some pretty adept crime-solving chops!

Janine starts things off by teaching us that ordering French onion soup on a blind date is something we should NEVER do. The team (and the audience) then pick-apart a gem of a case, which introduces us to some pretty elaborate characters. And finally, it's the turn of a member of the audience to present their case and to be honest, you'll NEVER hear of a crime more quintessentially English than this...

08 Sep 2021DWSC LIVE: With Sarah Kendall 00:56:57

The gals are live and unleashed again, as the residency at The Museum of Comedy continues into its second month, and joining Hannah, Catie, and Taylor in front of a lively crowd is writer, actor and comedian, Sarah Kendall!

Sarah gets things going with some stories which link together a family trait that will have you opting for public transport over a chance meeting with one of them on a highway.

The team then really get their teeth into a case which will either make you weirdly hungry or a vegetarian for life and we hear from a member of the audience about something which happened to them on their honeymoon and fun fact guys, the person you hear is none other than our Catie's pen pal!

If you missed out on tickets to this show, you can catch the team at the Underbelly Festival 2021, in London's Cavendish Square on 17th September - for full info and tickets go to: underbellyfestival.com

15 Sep 2021DWSC LIVE: With Ania Magliano 01:05:47

The Drunk Women are live again at The Museum of Comedy in London and as well as being joined by an audience of amateur detectives, they also brought comedian Ania Magliano along for the ride, who as it turns out wasn't too shabby as crime-solving herself!

Ania, tells us about the time is desperately wanted in on a crime wave in her school and then the team pulls apart a story from the 16th Century which details are grainy, to say the least!

We then hear from a member of the wonderful audience, who uses the opportunity to clear her name ... or maybe she just WANTS us to think she's innocent? You decide...

Come and see the DWSC LIVE at The Underbelly on Friday 17th Sept 2021 and at The Museum of Comedy on 28th October and 23rd November 2021.

22 Sep 2021Dinner In The Clink, With Hannah Cunningham 01:04:24

Much fun was had in the making of this episode and a big part of that was this week's crime-solving guest, make-up artist, TV presenter, and star of BBC's Glow-Up, it's Hannah Cunningham AKA Empty Alien, or 'cool' Hannah as she shall now be known, although nothing was cool about the crime she shares at the start of the show, thanks to the creepy man in slacks.

The team then digs deep into a historical crime, which could almost be referred to as highbrow, especially after Taylor displays a latent talent, which although has no use at all, is impressive, to say the least!

We then of course hear from a listener who needs our help in getting to the bottom of a most puzzling display of road rage.

Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE during 2021.

Their London residency continues at The Museum of Comedy on 28th Sept, 28th Oct, and 23rd Nov - for tickets and info go to museumofcomedy.com

29 Sep 2021159 Good Heavens, It's Susie Dent!00:57:59

The 'countdown' is almost over, as the DWSC team finally welcomes etymologist and star of one of the UK's longest-running shows 'Countdown' (you can see the brilliant gag we made there) and its comedy, sister show, 'Cats Does Countdown', it is, of course, the one and only, Susie Dent!

As well as giving us some pretty cool word origins, Susie also proved to be a pretty savvy crime solver and hits the nail on the head several times in this episode's stratospheric case, as well as starting us off with a crime that also has more than a hint of nostalgia attached.

The team then debates a listener story which could also have the hallmarks of a more innocent time ... or something far more sinister might have been at play.

Come and see Taylor, Catie, and Hannah LIVE throughout the Autumn and Winter of 2021, as they continue their residency at The Museum of Comedy: museumofcomedy.com

Well, what a night this was! Hannah, Catie, and Taylor burst onto the stage during London's Underbelly Festival for a night of drunk-solving mayhem in front of 300 fabulous fans AND had a very special guest in comedian and writer, Grace Campbell!

Grace starts us off with a crime that could be considered more a crime against sex than anything else and the tone is then set when the team (and audience) dig into a case in which the word 'cream' is definitely overused. We then round things off with a very eager audience member, who desperately needed the help of our amateur sleuths and by jove, I think they solved it ... or at least didn't make things worse!

13 Oct 2021161 DWSC LIVE with Mary O'Connell00:49:46

This week's episode is another riotous recording at the DWSC London residency at The Museum of Comedy! Joining Taylor, Catie and Hannah is the brilliant comedian Mary O'Connell who sets the crime-solving scene with a story of under 18s raving which will melt the coldest heart. We then dive into a true crime that starts off debating the role and efficiency of using a muff... much to everyone's delight. We then hear from an audience member who has been stewing on a wrongdoing for 25 years until she finally gets the closure she deserves.

20 Oct 2021162 Izzy Mant's Indecent Proposal 01:04:39

The Drunk Women are here again and joining them to solve a case whilst imbibing a G&T is comedian and writer, Izzy Mant! Izzy starts us off with a story that heralds from a night out at one of the second-best venues in a UK seaside town.

The team then pulls apart a crime-ridden tale that is reminiscent of a past case ... perhaps it's a coincidence, or maybe it's the work of an incompetent copycat? We then hear from a listener who wants to end the speculation of a series of events - period!

27 Oct 2021163 Feeling 'Seen' with Sarah Mills 01:00:00

Joining the Drunk Women hijinx this week is a last whose personal crime story is either a tale of dole queue drudgery or one of validation (we'll let you decide), it's writer and comedian, Sarah Mills!

Sarah's show opener is a story of first and grit, which can also be said of the woman featured in this week's true crime case - it'll probably have you rushing out to get a cat AND make you want to put the heating on full pelt - did you know pelt can mean an animal skin, as well as in the context of putting the heating on full? That knowledge will stand you in good stead for this week's ep, so you're welcome!

As always we hear from a listener to round off the show and today is no different, although there were a few shocks to uncover in this person's family tree .... WHAAAT?!

03 Nov 2021164 MEN'S MONTH LIVE: With Kiell Smith Bynoe01:00:22

It's November, which can only mean one thing... nope, not Guy Fawks night... Thanks Giving? More like No Thanks (Giving), because at Drunk Women Towers the only thing the team will celebrate for four weeks straight is International Men's Day on 19th November, which means it raining MEN all month long!

Men's Month 2021 is a particularly special affair, as at least one of our guests has been recorded at a live show and this fantastic episode welcomes actor Kiell Smith Bynoe as our very first audience-friendly guy - it's the role of his life and he embraced it as tightly as the bottle of tequila he brought to the stage.

Kiell kicks-off the show with a story that will invoke nostalgia for your first mobile phone, whilst also making you wonder why he went to school with people who had names like Brian and Leslie.

The team then collectively crushes a case that could very much be described as bad cop / worst cop and then we hear from a member of the audience whose crime to solve is worthy of Toy Story.

10 Nov 2021165 MEN'S MONTH: With Al Murray 01:09:07

The DWSC Men's Month continues in style, as the ladies welcome a comedian whose character The Pub Landlord wouldn't approve of their drunken antics, but luckily, Al Murray is here as himself and is fully immersed in the fun and hijinx!

Al starts us off with a crime story with some high and mighty perpetrators and the team then gets into a case that is audacious in many ways, as well as having a pretty impressive celebrity connection!

And this week's listener crime gets solved at lightning speed ... although perhaps not in a helpful way.

Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE in 2021.

17 Nov 2021166 MEN'S MONTH: With Nick Mohammed 01:04:01

At the time of release, it's the 3rd Wednesday in November, which means Taylor, Catie, and Hannah welcome the 3rd (and penultimate) man for Men's Month 2021 and it's only the wonderful actor and comedian, Nick Mohammed, who recorded this whilst filming in New Mexico no less!

Nick starts us off with a trio of crimes that he has fallen victim to, one of which proves the grass really isn't greener on the other side.

The team then gets their heads around a crime that throws up important questions like, how micro is microfilm? Are paper boys over 18? And was this week's listener crime actually solved?

24 Nov 2021167 MEN'S MONTH LIVE: With Ed Gamble 00:48:01

It's the FINAL men's month episode of 2021, and taking us out with a bang is the fantastic Ed Gamble, who wowed the crowd on stage at the sold-out DWSC residency at The Museum of Comedy!

Ed starts us off with a crime story that leaves you wondering how many teenaged boys have citrus fruit in their pockets and then sparks a competition for tales of middle-class injuries.

The team then roll out the barrel for the main story of the episode and you WILL have a barrel of fun and finally, this week's audience member provides a crime mystery which is basically just some EXCELLENT gossip about someone in her friendship circle ... we won't tell a soul, promise.

01 Dec 2021168 DWSC LIVE: With Jocelyn Jee Esien00:52:52

Pinch, punch for the first of the month, this episode was released on 1st December 2020, which means just like that, Men's Month is over for another year and we welcome back the all-female line-up, with a woman who was pursued so much to appear on the show, that she could have used that as her opening crime, it's the fabulous comedian Jocelyn Jee Esien - AKA Little Miss Jocelyn!

As well as wowing the live audience with some epic gymnastics she also started off proceedings with a crime that could have only happened in the early 2000s.

The team then gets into a case that involves some of the worst children's names in the book and this week's audience crime had our guest believing in witchcraft!

08 Dec 2021169 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Luisa Omielan00:53:16

It's been a long time coming, but the Drunk Women finally made it back to Manchester for another fantastic live show at The Salford Lowry!

The crowd obviously missed Taylor, Catie, and Hannah as much as our drunk detectives missed them, and bringing her own brand of cheer was this week's wonderful guest, comedian Luisa Omelian!

Luisa started things off with a crime in which several suspects are up for discussion - but is the real crime the cost of a beef fillet?

As the gang hasn't seen their Manchester friends in a while, it seemed only right that this week's crime should have something of a local flavor... although it's probably not something that great city should only be known for!

And to finish things off, this week's listener crime is brought to us by not one, but TWO members of the audience - it's a doubleheader ladies and gentlemen!

15 Dec 2021170 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Felicity Ward 00:51:22

The Drunk Women are here again and this episode is hot off the press of their double show at The Leicester Square theatre only last week (at the time of release - obvs). As this was recorded at the start of December, the vibe is very much that of an office Christmas party, mainly because of Hannah's outfit. Someone who didn't get the Christmas memo though was the first guest of the evening, the wonderful comedian, writer, and actor, Felicity Ward!

Felicity's outfit AND crime take us back to beachside Australia of the 1990s - a welcome break for us all before our main case brings on the debate of when the Bikini was invented** and this week's audience crime will have us all wondering if the perp had a gun in his pocket, or was he just pleased to see her?

Check out the DWSC Patreon for extra content, ad-free eps, videos, and more! patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime

**FYI, the heckler was WRONG... they did exist as a two-piece in the 1930s, but they weren't referred to as Bikinis until 1946 when the name was used to commemorate the nuclear tests carried out on the Pacific island of Bikini Atoll.

22 Dec 2021171 DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Eleanor Morton 00:50:30

It's the final episode of 2021 and what better way to being some festive cheer to proceedings than recording in front of a packed out crowd AND inviting the hilarious comedian Eleanor Morton along as special guest?!

Yes, even though this happened to be recorded at Christmas, like a bottle of Baileys, it can be enjoyed any time of the year and if you celebrate Yuletide or not.

It's always the season to listen to Eleanor share a tale in which a combination of naivety and creepiness are both at play and to hear a story which originates in the mountains of North Carolina ...which either is or isn't classed as an Appalachian ... perhaps the fact we don't know is an abomination.... what isn't an abomination though is this week's audience crime, but in fact a load of pants...

Keep watching @drunkwomenpod (Twitter) / @drunkwomensolvingcrime (insta) & drunkwomensolvingcrime.com for details of announcements for 2022 - Taylor, Hannah &, Catie have lots of fun stuff planned, so hope to see you soon!

The Drunk Women have some extra content for you lovely listeners and even let a MAN in on the fun - and it's not even Men's Month!

Taylor, Catie, and Hannah are here to talk about the Channel 4 prison comedy-drama, Screw, with the show's creator Rob Williams.

The series is available to watch now on All 4 and as you'll hear from this chat, has a brilliant cast including Nina Sosanya, Jamie Lee O'Donnell, and Laura Checkley.

In this chat, we hear how and why Rob felt so compelled to write the series and what the standout moments were for our gals when they watched episode one.

They all managed to do this one sober ... it's a miracle ... at least they SAID they hadn't been drinking.

19 Jan 2022DWSC LIVE: With Ayesha Hazarika 00:59:44

HELLOOOOO! It's been a minute, but the Drunk Women are back after recharging their livers and drinking their body weight in spinach smoothies, so they can get right on it again, all in the name of entertainment!

Having said all that, this episode was actually recorded a few weeks ago, at one of their sell-out residency shows, and joining them in the hijinks is the brilliantly funny comedian and political commentator, Ayesha Hazarika!

This show is typical of the anarchic atmosphere of a DWSC residency show and our guest and her crime story is much to blame for that anarchic vibe - most of it made to air... some did not, sometimes you really have to be there!

The team then gets their gears into a case involving the mysterious 'Madam X' - listen to find out who SHE is.

We then round things off with a listener crime which a bag of missing mini-eggs leaves many questions.

It's good to be back!

26 Jan 2022173 Joanne Lau's Most Unusual Father's Day Package01:08:57

Much like a vintage wine, you have to wait until the best moment to pop its cork, much like this episode, which was recorded during the summer months of 2020 and is now ready to release to the world.

Writer Joanne Lau provides a fruity note, with a story that leaves you wondering if the perp had good intentions at heart... otherwise, they are definitely NOT a good egg.

The team then cracks into a case which has more twists than a helter-skelter AND a real whirlwind of a listener crime!

02 Feb 2022174 Parm Sandhu's Detective School 01:10:37

This week on Drunk Women Solving Crime, we have someone who is not only an asset to THIS force but has been an asset to the ACTUAL force, serving 30 years in the British Police, becoming the first non-white woman to be promoted through the ranks to chief superintendent.

Parm Sandhu has also recently starred in a Channel 4 reality show Murder Island, where she advises real-life amateur detectives to solve a re-enacted murder, so stands to reason that we HAD to have her as an honourary 4th member of DWSC!

As you would expect Parm is not faint-hearted in the face of crime and so bravely tells the tale of when she was personally caught up in a local crime wave, before putting her 30 years of experience into a cold case involving gums ... we didn't say it would be easy Parm.

AND this week's listener crime will have you thinking twice about dog ownership.

Cast your mind back to November 2021.... what were you doing in those halcyon days? Well the Drunk Women tool to the stage at one of their favorite places to do their live shows, at The Salford Lowry, Manchester in front of a 'lively' crowd, who had just taken full advantage of the half-hour interval.

Adding to the merrymaking for this night of nights was fantastic comedian, Hayley Ellis who came prepped with a story comprising of nine lives, which is followed by the team digging into a crime which may not even have happened yet.

Rounding things off we hear from a member of the audience who should definitely be sent a pair of trainers from Nike...

16 Feb 2022176 Alison Spittle et Le Scandale de Royal01:06:13

Yes, those who have signed up to the DWSC Patreon were treated to this warts-and-all episode in which Alison reveals a trilogy of crimes that just show her whimsey is made of strong stuff and a case which rocked 'polite' society, reaching even the House of Windsor.

Then at the end, we then hear a crime from one of the fantastic Patreons watching all the mayhem from the safety of a Zoom webinar.

23 Feb 2022177 DWSC LIVE: With Elf Lyons 01:03:10

The scent of November 2021 wafts in like the nose on a fine wine, as the Drunk Women release their final residency show of that year, and helping them with the wafting is comedian and guinea pig enthusiast, Elf Lyons!

Elf starts us off with a crime which she really nails for us before the team gets involved with a story involving a locked called Filipo Lipo... Feleble Lable... Felippe Lido? However his name is pronounced, it's a ripping yarn!

Then before everyone surged the bar, an audience member tells us about a crime which they couldn't possibly have done themselves...they checked!

All this AND you'll never think of Guinea Pigs in the same way again!

02 Mar 2022DWSC LIVE: With Nat Luurtsema01:03:38

This episode was recorded at the start of 2022, so fresh into the year in fact, that Hannah broke dry January for it!

BUT, it was a bittersweet time, as although the team was thrilled to be back on stage at The Covent Garden Studios with a fantastic crowd, one of the gang had finally succumbed to Covid. Yes, unfortunately, there is around 60% less sass than usual in this episode, as detective Sasshole Catie was locked away in quarantine.

At least our fantastic guest comedian and writer, Nat Luurtsema was on-hand not only to relay a most audacious criminal encounter but also to lend some sauce to a meaty case, which made Hannah's mouth water.

We also get to hear from an audience member whose story got the crowd 'buzzing' with excitement.

09 Mar 2022179 Maisie Adam is NOT a catfish 01:08:52

In this episode, recorded in front of our wonderful Patreons over zoom, Maisie Adam came prepared with a criminal tale from her school days, which will either make you feel really old, or long to play a game of snake ... or both and our Patreons certainly got an eyeful, when Hannah waggled her old brick at them (see below how to join, so you don't miss out on gold such a this!

The team then clock-on for work to solve a crime, which is tragic and illuminating in equal parts, and then, as always, we get to hear from a listener and this time one of the loyal audience members supplied the tawdry tale for the guys to crack and it's safe to say, they had this one in the bag!

13 Mar 2022180 Drunk Women Solving Richard Herring 01:06:16

The Drunk Women have done the unthinkable and invited a guy on the show when it's not even Men's Month, but that's OK because the man is the one and only Richard Herring!

This is what happens when two great formats collide, but just HOW does true crime comedy mesh with the unmistakable sound of RHLSTP? Listen to find out, if Richard can match the detective skills of Catie, Hannah, and Taylor, which emergency questions will our trio be posed during this epic meeting of podcast royalty and if anyone can really solve Richard Herring.

16 Mar 2022181 Lily Phillips' Best of Three 00:56:06

This week's episode harks back to when Taylor and Hannah were holding the fort at their London residency as Catie recovered from Covid, but fear not sass-fans, as our very own detective sasshole makes an appearance to help solve a listener crime of Uber proportions in the final part of the pod!

Joining Taylor and Hannah on stage though is the brilliant comedian Lily Phillips, whose day of encountering crime in The Big Apple was the true tourist experience the guidebooks don't tell you about. And this week's main crime story is pretty adorable, except if your name happened to be Mary Johnson!

23 Mar 2022182: DWSC LIVE: With Angela Barnes 01:03:49

The Drunk Women have gone INTERNATIONAL - yes, they crossed water in A PLANE to the beautiful island of Guernsey to record this show in front of a fantastic audience of Sarnians (you'll find out what that means as you listen to the ep), BUT this episode has 60% less sass than usual, as Catie was unable to join the team, thanks to a horribly times bought of Covid, so Taylor and Hannah have no one to keep them in check, apart from the amazing Angela Barnes, who also hopped across to do a fantastic job at being the guest.

As Angela has been on the show before, she dug deep and found another crime to talk about at the top of the show, and this time she opted to 'keep it light' we'll leave it up to you to decide if she managed that!

The team then cracks into a case which will have struck a chord with many of the people in the live audience, not that crime is something on the forefront of their minds, as it turns out there isn't much need for a locksmith on that island!

We then hear from an audience member, whose story WILL make you feel old...but don't worry she was old enough to accept the prize for telling her tale.

30 Mar 2022183 DWSC LIVE: With Holly Burn 00:49:06

This episode was recorded at the DWSC London residency in front of a fantastic live audience, who weren't backward with coming forwards with their opinions on a story which involves yet another badass woman the history books forgot!

Joining the team on stage is the hilarious comedian Holly Burn, who told some tales of criminal woe, which in some respects involved most of the Drunk Women, AND the other guest who was on the bill that night, comedian Grainne Maguire! It's a small world.

As usual, a member of the audience is invited on stage, so the team can solve their crime mystery, the main one being, why do people in the US have MASSIVE holes in their front doors?

06 Apr 2022184 DWSC LIVE: With Gráinne Maguire00:52:06

Recorded at their London residency in February 2022, the whole team is back together, and joining them is not only a room packed to the rafters of fellow drunk detectives but also returned to the force, comedian, and right-wing political pundit** Gráinne Maguire!

** This might be a lie (it definitely IS a lie)

Gráinne is back to treat us to another crime story from her life, this time it looks as though she may also be the perpetrator, due to inaction rather than malicious intent.

The team then crack into a case that would have even Miss Marple and Poirot scratching their heads for answers.

We then hear from a member of the audience whose Roman holiday had her returning to the UK with a suspect list that reads like the beginning of a joke.

13 Apr 2022185 Lauren Layfield & Mean Girls X5 01:03:08

The Drunk Women are giddy to be welcoming this week's guest IRL, as they enter the studio for the first time in 2 years!

Joining them for this momentous occasion is TV & Radio presenter Lauren Layfield, who told the team about the most expensive taxi fare in history, which left her feeling a bit of a 'Dong'.

The team then pops some corks, whilst they look into a case, which was a rather sober affair on the outside, and also reveals that gang culture is really just an amped-up version of 'Mean Girls.'

Lastly, the team hears from a listener who was Dancin' in the Dark with her crime...until now....

20 Apr 2022No episode this week, here's why...00:05:31

Normally today we would be putting out another cracking DWSC episode; unfortunately this week we will not be releasing an episode.

This is because our dear producer Amanda came home this weekend to discover her flat had been burgled (I know, life imitating art, right?) Along with the devastation and sense of violation that brings, the intruder stole her laptop and all of her's jewellery, including this peacock brooch (pictured).

It is a precious family heirloom, which Amanda's Great Grandfather had made for his wife, out of gems which a wartime evacuee they were housing gave as a thank-you gift to them (the evacuee's family owned a jewellery business).

We are posting it here as a long-shot that anyone might spot this piece out in the world - on eBay, in a pawn shop in London, on Facebook marketplace - wherever. It is truly one of a kind and irreplaceable and would mean the world to our Amanda if it was some how, some way, returned to her.

The good news is that we're a tight-knit female workplace and we will help Amanda regroup and will be back in action by next week!

Lotsa love,

DWSC

04 May 2022187 DWSC LIVE: With Abigail Burdess 00:53:36

Recorded at their rockin' London Residency, the Drunk Women appeared before a sold-out audience to bring their unique brand of tipsy traversing through crimes past, and joining them in this endeavour is comedian and writer, Abigail Burdess!

Abigail's story of injustice from her school days will have the militants amongst you rising-up, to match our guest's beaming example of morality.

The group then get involved with a crime which features an overachiever, who probably should have either stuck to his first career, or had some therapy, or maybe done both of these things... but then, we wouldn't have had this BRILLIANT story to look into, so swings n' roundabouts...

We then hear from a lovely audience member who retells the story of an absolute wrong'un who hacked into and then blocked her from her Insta accounts, seemingly with no reason other than to cause distress ... leaving the Drunk Women Thirsty for justice (and prosecco).

11 May 2022188 DWSC LIVE: With Stevie Martin 00:56:41

It's another rockin' DWSC London residency, and joining Taylor, Hannah & Catie in the mayhem is comedian, writer, and podcaster, Stevie Martin!

Stevie begins by telling the sold-out audience about a crime that illustrates how much she wants to see the good in people, or just one person in particular, who she's never met and hopefully never will!

The team then gets involved in a case that proves that support is indeed key, even if your mother curses you!

We then hear from a member of the audience who recounts a story in which they flip flop from victim to perp back to victim again, and with whom Taylor finds some unusual similarities, it's a lot of fun!

18 May 2022189 Gina Lyons' Bludgeoning Actually 00:52:01

This week on Drunk Women Solving Crime, the gang are joined by comedy producer and enthusiastic detective, Gina Lyons!

Gina gets the ball rolling with a crime, which is a cautionary tale for anyone who decides to buy a hotel, whilst drunk on honeymoon - something which many people will have had experience with, we're sure.

The team then get involved with solving a crime which starts with a bludgeoning and soon gives way to a whole new direction for Richard Curtis... Richard, if you're listening (which he surely is), you're welcome!

We then hear from a listener who has a crime that inspires a whole thread of nostalgia for our detectives, which probably didn't help to solve the case, but definitely didn't make things worse.

You can see the Drunk Women LIVE in 2022 either over Zoom on 18th May and 8th June (Free to Patreons, £5 otherwise), they also have another London Residency at The Covent Garden Studios on Friday 17th June AND will be at this year's Edinburgh Fringe in August - for details and tickets for all of these events, go to : drunkwomensolvingcrime.com

25 May 2022190 Rosalind Blessed Will Wait For You 01:06:31

Joining the Drunk Women for much merriment and mirth is the incredible actor, writer & podcaster, Rosalind Blessed!

In what turns-out to be a very 'second record', we start by hearing from Rosalind about a crime for which she gives us the naked-facts and which also allows her to display a pretty good background in sleuthing - welcome to the force!

The whole gang then looks at a case, which not only inspired one of the greatest stories in literature, but also one could argue (if you're Catie), the plot of Jaws!

We then hear from a listener about a mystery which could win those involved an Oscar - although probably more worthy of a TV Quick Award if properly examined, either way, it's a proper drama!

Join the Drunk Women for a record LIVE over Zoom on Wednesday 8th June 2022 - £3 to Patreons, or £5 per ticket!

You can also come to their final London Residency of 2022, on Friday (or FriYAY) 17th June .

01 Jun 2022191: DWSC LIVE: With Sikisa00:51:37

It's another night at the DWSC London residency, where a packed-audience gathered to hear first hand of a crime inflicted on this week's guest just moments before she appeared on stage!

Yes, comedian and writer Sikisa joins the team with a true crime story still hot off the press and with a fantastic sense for sleuthing out some cut price Edinburgh accommodation when the opportunity arises.

Taylor then takes the team stateside for a crime so New York it practically arrives in a yellow taxi!

We then hear from audience member David, who aside from being a friend of the show, is also a friend to people selling pretty much anything on EBay!

Come to the final DWSC London residency of 2022 at The Covent Garden Studios on June 17th!

You can also join the team from the comfort of your own home at their next zoom record on 8th June 2022.
