As timely as ever we enter another year of this podcast with a spoiler review of a film which has been out for almost 2 months now, 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'. 

We go into what worked for us, what didn't, character reveals and inciting incidents. We talk in depth about all aspects of the film so we do sound the spoiler porg pretty early on, but chances are you will have seen the film by this point if you're interested in watching it. 

It's been a little while but News & Reviews finally returns with a solid crop of reviews of the latest in films and TV series. We also round up some recent trailers and the Oscar nominations that were announced last week. 

We talk about noir thriller 'Nightmare Alley', video game adaptation adventure 'Uncharted', quiet drama 'Mass', recent George Clooney directed coming of age memoir 'The Tender Bar' and puritanical horror 'The Last Thing Mary Saw'. Andy also rounds up season 1 of both 'Reacher' and 'The Book Of Boba Fett'.

To celebrate the release of heartwarming man and dog road trip movie 'Dog' this week, we take time to pitch our own versions of one word animal escapades. We imagine the hijinks and scrapes we'd have along the way and flesh out some pretty predictable story beats that you find in all of these sorts of films. 

This week we find a news & reviews episode which sees large scale disaster movies colliding with small budget movies about witchy women living their wiccan way in the woods. Nothing new here then.

We talk big budget nonsense in 'Moonfall', horror reboot garbage in 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre', a couple of Shudder originals and Oscar nominated Spanish film 'Parallel Mothers'.

After a fallow week of no podcasting from us we return with a bunch of reviews for you all. It's a big week for new releases including Jordan Peele's 'Us', new DC superhero film 'Shazam!' and Maggie Gyllenhaal starring 'The Kindergarten Teacher'. 

With this weekend seeing the release of the latest film in the ongoing stories of the caped crusader in 'The Batman', we thought we'd see how Alex would survive being Batman with none of the training.

How many of the villains will Alex defeat? Will Gotham fear or praise him? Has anyone ever asked The Joker his name? Andy guides you through it all here.

In a relatively sparse episode of news and reviews we still somehow find time to prattle on for a while about nonsense, mainly Alex being upset with the movie industry if we're being totally honest.

We sum up the biggest and best in news stories, we try to work out who will actually watch 'Avatar 2', why they would try to make a 'Deadpool 3' and whether there are more than 2 types of films. 

On the review front we discuss 'Red Rocket', the new film from Sean Baker and one of Alex's most anticipated films of the year. Andy also covers Netflix's new Ryan Reynolds starring sci-fi film 'The Adam Project'.

This is it, the final chapter in an epic which has spanned years of podcasting, the final edition of Dinosaur Man does Harry Potter. 

Alex and Andy return to Hogwarts following the camping trip that took place last year for the final showdown with Voldemort, there will of course be more misuse of magical creatures, destruction of school property and key characters dying at a rate of knots. 

Who will make it through? Will there be a happy ending for Keith the Dementor? Will Harry fulfill his destiny?

Our semi regular video game episode returns with a bang, Andy has been playing more video games than usual, Alex has actually been consistently playing a game for longer than he was forced to. 

We round up both the good and bad in video games that we've been playing, whether Andy likes or hates a game he's put over 70 hours into and whether Alex will win the championship with Williams, exciting stuff!

It's Hollywood's biggest night! Unfortunately it's a departure from our usual experience with the Oscars as Alex is away so we can't do our annual watch along torture. Instead we bring you our alternative nominations and predict who or what should win and will win in some of the prestige categories. 

Will normal service be resumed next year? We pray that we never have to do another all nighter for this podcast.

Hey guys and welcome to a spooky week here at Dinosaur Man HQ. We've seen Pet Sematary and now we're spooky cats so that's fun, in addition to this Alex caught up with Netflix film 'Unicorn Store'. We also discuss the trailers for 'Joker' and 'My Spy' as well as assorted other nonsense.

Alex and Andy return for a midweek treat with a rare spoiler special episode on the new DC movie 'Shazam!' starring Zachary Levi. As usual with these episodes this is spoiler filled so if you are planning on seeing the film come back to this episode afterwards and enjoy the debate. 

With the biggest event in comic book movie history just around the corner we thought that our beloved listeners may benefit from a recap on the events in the MCU up until this point. Unfortunately Andy left it up to Alex to remember the key moments and this may have been an unwise choice. Alex and Andy return with a review of the most hotly anticipated comic book film of the year, Hellboy! The David Harbour starring reboot has just hit the cinemas and (Hell) Boy oh boy is it a film. Also discussed is all the news from Star Wars Celebration including the trailer for 'Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker'

After a few weeks off from News & Reviews it returns with a vengeance, Andy's been a busy boy and caught up with a bunch of 2021 and 2022 releases. Alex has seen one film. 

On top of reviews of Pixar's 'Turning Red', Poirot outing 'Death on the Nile', 'Jackass Forever' and much more in the world of recent films, Andy has also got three series to talk about. 'Peacemaker' starring John Cena, dystopian Sci Fi 'Severance' and the MCU's latest installment 'Moon Knight'. It truly is a monstrous week of reviews, normal service may be resumed soon.

To tie in with Easter, this year the boys look at notable resurrections in mostly cinema history, from long dormant horror franchise reboots, transforming robots and secret agents we cover a range of examples that show the best and worst of what can happen when a franchise rises from the dead. 

Much like with Jesus, some of these franchise will spawn a religion that lasts over 2000 years. Churches devoted to Vin Diesel? I can imagine it.

We're back with the conclusion of our MCU recap in anticipation of the impending release of Avengers: Endgame. This episode takes us right up to the events of the most recent entry 'Captain Marvel', time will tell how important a role Carol Danvers will play in the events of this era-ending film but we'll be back to discuss that in full next week. 

This week it's Alex's turn to have watched too many things and try to fit them into one regularly sized episode. Andy has seen box office juggernaut 'The Batman' and reveals whether he found this installment in the franchise managed to work its magic on him. 

Alex has a real feast of horror to review, with 'Amulet', 'A Banquet' and 'Master' all coming from female filmmakers. 

With a $90m budget, 'The Northman' represents a departure for Robert Eggers on a financial level, does that apply on a creative side too? 

In anticipation of this week's release of 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness', we take a look at another alternate reality in the world of the sorcerer supreme, 1992's 'Doctor Mordrid'.

This Full Moon project originally started life as an official Doctor Strange film but rights lapsed and rewrites were hastily done, resulting in this odd concoction of not quite right replacements for many of the elements of the superhero property, whilst also retaining a sense of fun and shlockiness that's hard to come by in the 21st century offerings in the same genre. 

We resume our news and reviews service this week with a mix of our latest watches. Ranging from a ghost story from Laos in the form of 'The Long Walk' to a documentary about the highest profile skateboarder of all time, all while taking in a couple of horror offerings available online. 

We also discuss high profile directors leaving anticipated projects for different reasons, the video game hall of fame and trailers that reveal too much. 

We return to provide you with reviews of two hot and fresh box office smash hits as well as your weekly helping of entertainment news to get you through the week. First of all we talk about James Bond 25, X Men in space and The Defenders before going on to discuss our big review of the most hotly anticipated film event of the year, 'Avengers: Endgame'. Natalie Portman plays a pop star born out of tragedy in Brady Corbet's 'Vox Lux', a film that takes aim at the media and it's obsession with knocking down figures that they themselves have set up. This tangentially relates to the focus of 'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile' a film which follows the trial of Ted Bundy (played by Zac Efron here).

Well after last weekend having a false start, here comes that batch of news and reviews you were all promised by the Sidecast.

This week we talk Jordan Peele's third directorial feature 'Nope', action franchise sequel 'Prey', wine tasting documentary 'Blind Ambition' & bizarre sprawling Indonesian action romance drama 'Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash'. A real grab bag this week for you all guys so enjoy the variety while it's there.

Well if you were thinking, "Oh yeah news and reviews is all well and good but will you ever just make an episode which is purely a man reading numbers from a spreadsheet?" then you're in luck!

This is truly the darkest timeline, Alex spends an hour trying to work out if 'Batgirl' should have been cancelled by reading out budgets and grosses for Warner Bros DC comics properties since the turn of the century. What answer does he come to? Does Andy regret not doing research? Does Andy realise this would be the podcast if he wasn't on it?

After the exciting snake pit action of last week, Alex has fought his way free to take part in this week’s news & reviews episode. Thank goodness he has as he’s got a backlog of things to talk about in an already news heavy week so this one’s going to be a marathon episode. 

There’s new David Cronenberg body horror ‘Crimes of the Future’, Bowie documentary ‘Moonage Daydream’, Idris Elba turns lion puncher in ‘Beast’, ‘Scream’ is another of 2022’s myriad legacy sequels, ‘Young Plato’ is an uplifting documentary regarding one headmasters efforts to reshape the culture of aggression in schoolchildren, ‘Saloum’ is a Senegalese supernatural action thriller comedy that feels like a blend you won’t often see and finally ‘Hatching’ is a Finnish coming of age horror.

And with that scare we kick off 2022's Shocktober episodes with a bang. We've got a packed month ahead of us so why don't we just get straight into it? 

This week, Alex talks us through the current trend of horror legacy sequels and what they mean for the genre. We discuss a few examples and talk through what works about the successful ones and what doesn't work for the misses, what lessons can we take from this and what does this mean going forward?

A 64 seed single elimination bracket tournament where classic movie monsters go up against each other the see who is truly the king on the monsters. 

There are aome shocks and surprises along the was a we work through the full bracket in this episode, with the remaining rounds to be covered in Part 2 so keep tuned in for that coming your way in the coming weeks.

Reviews this week include DC superhero fare Black Adam. The finale of the Michael Myers saga in Halloween Ends. The reboot (maybe) of pinhead and the gang in Hellraiser and plenty more. Andy also finally wraps up his thoughts on House of the Dragon.

News features trailers for Ant Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Creed 3. There is talk about the Gran Turismo movie and Alex ranks all the Spice Girls in order of which ones he'd like to hang out with.

Nothing happens in the middle of the recording and the episode definitely wasn't recorded in two halves with the second making us unreasonably sadder for some reason. Don't worry about it.

It's another solo episode today as Andy has been struck down by a virus, so in this shorter mini episode Alex discusses the film 'United Passions' from 2014. A largely self funded FIFA propaganda film, what better way is there to commemorate the start of the 2022 World Cup? 

I mean, thank goodness this is only a short episode as there probably isn't 90 minutes worth of discussion to be had about this film it's that misguided. Anyway, Alex watched it so you don't have to. 

Another minisode this week as Andy's currently indisposed, Alex takes time to review recent horror releases 'V/H/S/99' and 'Deadstream' (both available on Shudder now) while Andy's off. Normal service hopefully resumes next week. 

Due to popular demand this week sees Andy return to the podcast after his covid enforced break. Thankfully he's seen a film in the interim so at least he's pulling his weight when it comes to reviews.

'The Noel Diary', 'Christmas With You' and 'Falling for Christmas' are the subjects this year. Unfortunately none of them are musicals but we live and learn, however there are always Christmas songs to be sung and Eggnog to be drunk, not to mention morals to impart!

Ho ho ho! Welcome to this year's Dinosaur Man holiday special, our most extravagant and low effort special yet. It's a commentary track for a now beloved Christmas classic, 2021's 'Love Hard'. We've wanted to honour this film ever since last year's Netflix Christmas episode got ruined by gremlins (not the film), this was a fitting way for us to do that without having to rewatch two garbage Netflix films alongside it.

Awards season has begun to pull into view and so we kick off our fortnight of awards episodes with a newer ceremony in the form of Game of the Year awards for games played in 2022 (although released in some cases 25 years ago). Andy doles out awards to a bunch of big and small names in the world of video games, mustachioed plumbers, Miltanks and Marvel's avengers all feature. Alex talks about the handful of games he played this year and once again has to reckon with the horniness of game developers.
