Harlow Robinson is an accomplished mountain runner and the founding member of the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame. Since 2006, he worked as direct care staff and board member with Healthy Futures, a statewide program that helps thousands of at risk youth around Alaska build self-esteem and life skills.

He grew up living a subsistence lifestyle in remote Alaska until third grade and in 1973 his family was the subject of the Alaska Family Robinson article in National Geographic. He and his Kiwi wife Gina spend a substantial amount of time in New Zealand and both of their fathers are renowned mountain climbers.

He's raced dozens of Alaskan mountain races and wilderness races and won several, including both the winter and summer Alaska Wilderness Races, an unsupported 100-200 mile point-to-point race through the Alaskan wilderness. Hd also did the Transalpine stage race in Europe, which is about 200 miles over a span of eight days through and over the European Alps.

Additionally, after many years and many attempts, Harlow completed the 12 peak challenge, a 24 hour race that links the twelve 5,000-foot mountains in the Chugach range overlooking Anchorage, Alaska.

In the past five years, Harlow has experienced life passing by quickly, and so in that time, he's changed some of his personal paradigms. This effort required acceptance, commitment, a new level of honesty with yourself, personal vulnerability and has revealed wonderful and surprising layers.

Colin Daring, is a world renown kettle bell instructor. He fell in love with fitness during his military service and has now been in the fitness industry for over 20 years. Though he teaches a simple at-home workout series, he also has perfected and refined a series of advanced kettle bell sequences. He believes in eating well, smiling more, varying one’s training, investing in oneself, that all you need is less, and in upholding the well being and longevity of the pack.

Jo Luehmann, is a public speaker and writer who teaches about dismantling systems of oppression, restorative justice, the effects of trauma, and centering the needs of marginalized communities.

She is Colombian born and raised, and moved to the US to get her master's degree in ministry and theology. After 10 years working inside of churches, developing curriculum, and teaching classes on theology and doctrine, she stopped working in the church and started The Living Room, a non-profit that helps faith spaces consider and evaluate issues of racial literacy and equity.

In the summer of 2020, inspired by a group of victims and survivors of church abuse, she started doBetterChurch, an online space for victims of religious mistreatment. The platform invites churches to improve how they conduct themselves, seeks to ensure the safety of marginalized communities, and offers it’s more than 10,000 participants peer support, tools for healing, and a safe space to communicate and be seen.

The Venerable Robina Courtin has been A Buddhist nun since the late 70s. She was born in Melbourne, Australia, where she was educated by Catholic nuns, and studied classical singing. In 1976, she met some Tibetan lamas, and received ordination as a monastic eighteen months later, in Kathmandu. She has worked since then with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, the worldwide network of the Tibetan Buddhist teachers, Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche. She has also served as editorial director of Wisdom Publications, editor of Mandala magazine, and executive director of Liberation Prison Project, which she founded in 1997 and which helped prisoners with buddhist practices.

Robina's life and work was featured in the documentary film Key to Freedom and the award winning film, Chasing Buddha. Additionally, a recording of her singing prayers and mantras, entitled Devotion, was produced in 2018.

Robina believes in action, in doing things that help one know one’s mind deeply and well, that we need to unpack the mind, to unravel its contents, deconstructing layers of thoughts and feelings, emotions and assumptions, and thereby beginning to reconstruct the cognitive processes at the basis of our emotions. The way to do this is through the, in her own words, brilliant, marvelous, sophisticated psychological techniques that we call meditation.

And of meditation she said, "It is not a relaxation technique, but a training…why? So in our daily life we can see what the hell is going on in this mind of ours. Some people can sit for 30 minutes, very comfortably. They’re just spacing out, feeling good. That ain’t meditation baby.”

Dr. Robert Glover is the author of No More Mr. Nice Guy, and Dating Essentials for Men, as well as the director of TPI University, a series of courses that helps people become totally integrated individuals.

For much of his early life he considered himself one of the nicest guy’s one could meet. He wanted to treat people well and be liked. But in his early 30’s, his found yourself frustrated, resentful, confused and, to the people closest to him, not so nice. He had an agenda, no boundaries, was indirect, passive-aggressive and not so honest with himself or others. He heard the same thing from many men around him as well and noticed the road map of these passively pleasing men unconsciously influenced every area of their lives. In the early 90’s he started his first “No More Mr. Nice Guy” group for these men and published the book in 2003.

Robert believes in intention into action, safe spaces to break free from habits, and the transformation from passive, resentful victimhood to empowered, integrated adults.

Jade Oates, is a writer, poet and the editor in chief of The Mandarin, an online literary magazine based in California. Ron Cecil and Daniel Penner Cline introduce themselves as hosts. Ron is a masculine wholeness coach, writer and podcaster based out of Portland, Oregon. Daniel an artist, writer and podcaster based out of California. 

Ron was born in rural New Mexico, where he fell in love with the Divine, rock climbing, and smoking cigarettes in secret. He has degrees in New Testament Literature and psychology, and though he seemed destined to become either a cowboy or preacher, spent years running large businesses domestically and abroad.

In 2016, he committed to his calling as a Masculine Wholeness coach and now guides men through the journey of resetting their nervous systems and disrupting patterns that have kept them from creating mental, physical and emotional health. Lasting romantic love has also been a vital aspect of Ron's story. His parents were married 13 times, and this has created in him a devotion to understanding what makes a healthy marriage. He has been vibrantly partnered since 2009 and is now father to a daughter and adopted son.

In 2020, Ron completed a lifelong goal by speed-climbing Yosemite's Half Dome. Later that year, he co-founded the podcast, Cutting for Sign and at the same time, doubled down on his lifelong pursuit of writing. He iscurrently working on a modern western inspired by the works of Cormac McCarthy and set in the high desert where he grew up.

Daniel was born in southern Mexico and raised in Northern California by his adoptive parents. He was a collegiate athlete, studied in Australia and Alaska, and earned a degree in journalism. He is now a painter, writer and co-host of the podcast Cutting For Sign, which explores the emotional, physical and cognitive potential expressed through human lives.

He is currently working on a book chronicling the experience of witnessing his mother's murder when he was four and the subsequent confrontation decades later with the emotional effects on himself and others involved. Daniel spends most days painting. To wind down, he partner dances and plays blues piano. He is currently based out of Northern California and keeps an art studio in Portland, Oregon.

Morgan Day Cecil has spent two decades training in mind-body-spirit methodologies including trauma-release, breathwork, hypnotherapy, deep feminine psychology, and tantra. Brianna Noble is an equestrian, and founder of the Humble project, a program based out of Martinez California for underserved, inner city, and BiPOC youth. The Humble curriculum supports youth who would normally not have access to the life-changing magic of horses due to socioeconomic reasons.

Noble achieved global fame recently when she rode her 17 hand high Appaloosa Gelding, Dapper Dan, at a protest in Oakland, California. Dapper wore a Black Lives Matter sign in honor of George Floyd and this action was featured in major newspapers and news channels around the world.

Noble believes that horses are mirrors of our souls that allow us to view ourselves in a forgiving, non-judgmental way. When she's on a horse’s back she is the closest she comes to being one with nature. And while she aspires to become the first black woman to compete in horse jumping at the Olympics, the most important thing to her is the kids in her Humble project and the lasting impact they will bring in the community.

Allan Amato is a Zimbabwe born, L.A. based photographer. He discovered his love for photography after Hurricane Katrina forced him to re-examine life. Since then, he has worked with a variety of clientele including Nick Nolte, Terry Gilliam, Neil Gaiman and director Kevin Smith who said of him, “I can’t stand to look at myself unless I’ve been photographed by Allan Amato.”

Allan also directed a feature-length documentary with creative partner Olga Nunes called Temple of Art, but his lifelong dream is to become an honorary member of Monty Python

Nick Hurndon, is the subject of the short film A Childhood On Fire, which chronicles how he and his two brothers were set on fire by theirstepfather when they were children. It also explores the effects that childhood abuse had on him as an adult, and his purpose of interrupting cycles of violence through generations. The film was an official selection at several film festivals including San Francisco Film Festival, DOC NYC, and Aesthetica. In 2019 he became the World Masters Weightlifting Champion of his division. Hurndon is the owner of Magnus Strength and Conditioning, as well as a certified Hardstyle Kettlebell Instructor, Marine veteran, competitive Judoka and CrossFitter. He is the father of two sons, and believe that transcendental stoicism is the key to a better life.

John Silvestri is a musician and painter. His artistic ability was noticed at the age of eight when he had his first public showing in the St. Louis Art Museum. After studying art in college, he apprenticed in Italy under modern painter and sculptor, Salvatore Leto. His art has been reviewed on international art talk radio as well as in several editorials, including the Herald Tribune, USF Oracle, and The Oregonian. At the age of 12, John began to discover a musical talent as well and in 2011, his original music scored the movie Prime of Your Life which was selected to Cannes Film Festival. Currently, his rock band Audio Orchid is based in Sarasota Florida.

For many years, he drew on the synergy, and at times conflict, between his life as an artist and his devotion to music. The two passions have come to fuel each other and at times harmonize. Ideally, he plays music like he paints, and when he paints, he uses realizations arrived at through music.

John values laughing his ass off, enjoying life every day, and at the same time, not delaying, procrastinating, or beating around the bush of one’s dreams. He believes in doing what he is passionate about, doing it now, as much as possible, as well as he can, and not bullshiting himself along the way.

Shoshana Berger, is an author, founder, as well as executive editor at Ideo. Her book on facing Mortality, A beginner’s Guide to the End, which you co-authored with Dr. BJ Miller, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2019. In support of the book, she also published op-eds and essays in the New York Times, TIME, Fast Company, and other publications.

She was a senior editor at WIRED, and co-founded the DIY design magazine, ReadyMade, which was a finalist for a National Magazine award. In 2006 she turned this into a book, Ready Made: How to Make (Almost) Everything. Through her early work in journalism, starting her own business and a lap in the corporate world, she began to develop what has become a Swiss Army Knife of experience including guiding innovation sprints, helping global organizations use the tools of storytelling to generate ideas, shaping the voice of a brand, and even projects that have helped reimagine Judaism, death, and school lunch. And for those of us didn’t know, she also wrote a book about William Butler Yeats living in New York in the year 2029.

David Robles is a Program Supervisor at the largest therapeutic residential non-profit in Oregon. For the last nine years he has worked with programs in California and Oregon where he has provided moment to moment support and therapeutic intervention to youth in need.

He is also a second degree black belt in American Kenpo, dabbles in Brazilian Jiu-jitzu, is an esteemed member of Fort Liberty, and invests a disproportionate amount of his life in the valued pastimes of meal prep and personal grooming.

David is one of Daniel's closest friends. They have traveled distant lands together–and one trip, it would not be hyperbole to say–was a true quest. They have bled together through both the creation of stories and more so through the living of our own.

He has stood by Daniel during the most difficult moments of Daniel's life, embodying his values of safety, consistency, and not too much nor too little predictability. Sabrina Ward Harrison published her first book, Spilling Open: The Art of Becoming Yourself, at 23. This piece was an intimate and moving picture of the contradictions young women face as they are forced into societal norms. She has since published four more books, Brave on the Rocks, Messy Thrilling Life, the true and the questions, and The story is happening.

Sabrina taught creativity worldwide for two decades with a belief that her fellow humans must create what they most need to find. David Haward is an artist and writer who supports LGBTQ+ people and groups, Black Indigenous People of Color, and women artists, creatives and journalists. He earned a degree in Biblical Studies and received his Masters in New Testament Studies. Being raised Christian, David believed that the Bible was inspired and infallible. However, as life continued, a gradual, painful and radical change in his beliefs began, and he lost a sense of purpose and destiny. Despite this, he served as a pastor for 30 years. During this time, the structure of his faith continued to crumble. He asked himself if he could believe in a compassionate God when billions of people were seemingly excluded from this love. 

In 2010, he left the church to pursue art. He created NakedPastor, a platform that uses words and images to create conversations, push boundaries, challenge the status quo and deconstruct dogma. His art acts as a catalyst for critical thinking, questions the confines of religion, and expresses the struggles of spiritual refugees and independent thinkers. David believe everybody deserves to express doubts, and explore their spiritualty, that language seems to divide us, and that we are all deeply connected.

Johnny Boyd, Ron and Daniel talk about how an artist's body of work evolves over time, to what extent and the nuance around choices one makes on what to create, how, when and with whom. Johnny is a singer, songwriter, aka crooner, composer as well as a cocktailier, and deep-dish vintage 1940’s bellywarmer necktie collector, 9,700 pieces and counting.

He began singing and performing at the age of eight in the Phoenix Boys Choir and later signed as a major label recording artist. He has recorded dozens of original songs and has licensed many for use in motion pictures, television and gaming.

He is most acclaimed for massive public art installations at places such as the Boom Festival in Portugal, Afrikaburn in the Tankwa Karoo in South Africa, the human nature exhibition at the Morton Arboretum in Chicago, and the Venala Luz sculpture in Talum, He builds both temporary and permanent pieces, including a commission for a sculpture that now stands as a defining feature for the Nelson Mandela School of Science and Technology. Dr. Tracey Hunter, is a clinical psychologist and relationship coach based on the Gold Coast of Australia. She received her PhD in Clinical psychology at Griffith University, Gold Coast in 2005 and made the Academic Excellence List for her thesis work. Dr. Hunter is the author or co-author of several publications that dissect the relationships between topics such as child development, depression, peer relationships and many others.

In 2011, she traveled to New York to undergo advanced training and certification in Schema Therapy. Tina Alexis Allen is an actor. In this episode, she plays the character of her father, who she also plays in her one-person play Secrets of a Holy Father.

Sir John was born in England, lied about his age to join the Merchant Marines, was an officer in the British Army stationed in Palestine, moved to the states, and started a Catholic Travel Agency. He also was knighted by the Pope, had a Vatican passport, traveled about 500,000 miles a year from the late 50s through the 70s, and lived most of his adult life in Chevy Chase, Maryland. He also had 13 children and lived at least one double life.

Tina Alexis Allen is also a playwright and author. She grew up the youngest of 13 in a Catholic family in Chevy Chase Maryland. After accepting a basketball scholarship to the University of Maryland, she earned an MBA in marketing and moved to New York, where she spent weekends at Broadway shows and after some soul searching started to pursue acting.

Her break out role was in the 2016 WGN hit series Outsiders, a clash-of-cultures drama rooted in coal mining Kentucky. Now, she is known for playing a diversity of roles, and were nominated for a GLAAD award for her work in The Break-Up Notebook. Celebrated acting coach Susan Batson called her “a true chameleon.” She wrote and performed the critically acclaimed solo show, Secrets of a Holy Father in which she played her own father, Sir John, an Englishman who had been knighted by the Pope. The play explores betrayal, redemption and forgiveness through her father’s secretive double life.

She is also co-founder of Gina Raphaela Jewelry, which turns deconstructed bullets into daring necklaces, rings and bracelets. The company donates proceeds to non-profit organizations that stand for peace.

Lastly, her book, Hiding Out: A Memoir of Drugs, Deception and Double Lives, builds on the story of her play, and further unravels the relationship with her formidable father, this time from her point of view. The book hinges on a moment in which a secret she'd harbored for years is revealed to her father; that she liked girls. But, instead of dragging her to a priest, her father shockingly says that he too, is gay. Through wild, clandestine escapades, her discover that this is not Sir John’s only significant deception.

The Washington Post said of the book, that she packaged grit and grime into glistening prose and that her twisted mystery is a ‘can’t-put-down’ read. And of the book, Tina herself said, “there is no shame in telling the truth.”

Ted Alexandro is a comedian. He has made multiple appearances on David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Ferguson and The View and have had two half-hour specials on Comedy Central. He also active in several social justice movements and are a co-founder of the New York Comedians Coalition, which raised the pay for comedians in NYC comedy clubs.

Ted also co-created the award-winning comedy web series “Teachers Lounge” with Hollis James. He stars as a music teacher in a NYC elementary school. Each episode stars a different comedian as a faculty member. Teachers Lounge won two Cynopsis Digital Media Awards. He has appeared regularly at the iconic Comedy Cellar in NYC. and is said to be a New York comedy fixture as “firm as bedrock."

Dennis Aydemir is a songwriter and front man in the indie art rock genre band Deniz of The Beez, and director and producer of the three-part documentary trilogy, Time Travels Through Sound. Dennis was born in California and grew up in Istanbul. At two-and-a-half years old, he had favorite artists--REM and Eric Clapton. He started playing keyboard at seven, piano at 11 and when he received a guitar on his twelfth birthday, he decided his music career had begun.

By the age of 15 he was a go-to guitarist, bassist and vocalist in several Istanbul music scenes, and in 2015, graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He had the honor of subbing for one of Turkey’s most influential jazz bassists, and had the pleasure to open for Nick Cave, who he lists as one of his musical influences. He also worked as lyricist and translator for the award-winning band Women of the World in a project discussing the socio-political issues surrounding the 2011 Fukushima power plant disaster.

Aydemir is fluent in Japanese, Spanish, Turkish and English and his current creative impulsions are rooted in his belief that when a language dies, humanity loses wisdom, but also that there is hope, so long as music is still sung. His non-narrative documentary trilogy, Time Travels Through Sound explores music that faces extinction due to language death. The first film of this trilogy, The Elements, was shot over two years in communities throughout Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, Turkey, Vietnam and Russia. His films are not stories to be told, but stories to behold. They are not about grasping, or necessarily finding resolution but about letting go and losing oneself in one’s own depths through sound.

Scott Stabile is an author of Big Love: The Power of Living With a Wide Open Heart.

He gives workshops throughout the country about connecting to ourselves through writing and also works one on one as a coach with people committed to looking at their lives honestly. Milena Sidorova, is an award-winning Ukrainian-Dutch choreographer, Young Creative Associate at the renowned Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam and in December 2020 became the first dancer in the history of the Dutch National to officially hold positions as both dancer and choreographer.

She has created more than 25 choreographies and has been celebrated for her consistency, originality of voice, playfulness, and “Skin-tingling work.” Some of her recent accomplishments include directing the ballet film Rose, which explores love, and hope through the portrayal of shadows of previous relationships. She's had her work selected by the Royal Opera House in London and the creation of her newest production Regnum, was described as “Brave, and unforgettable”

Her video Hold On, inspired by the lock down and filmed by dancers in their homes, went viral and was adapted by the Dutch rock band Di-rect. Her work Tickle, also known as Kriebel, won an international Young Audience Music award and her choreography The Spider has been performed all over the globe. Milena also played the creepy human spider in the Oscar-winning movie Dune.

Tina Alexis Allen is an actor, playwright and author. She grew up the youngest of 13 in a Catholic family in Chevy Chase Maryland. After accepting a basketball scholarship to the University of Maryland, she earned an MBA in marketing and moved to New York, where she spent weekends at Broadway shows and after some soul searching started to pursue acting.

Her break out role was in the 2016 WGN hit series Outsiders, a clash-of-cultures drama rooted in coal mining Kentucky. Now, she is known for playing a diversity of roles, and were nominated for a GLAAD award for her work in The Break-Up Notebook. Celebrated acting coach Susan Batson called her “a true chameleon.” She wrote and performed the critically acclaimed solo show, Secrets of a Holy Father in which she played her own father, Sir John, an Englishman who had been knighted by the Pope. The play explores betrayal, redemption and forgiveness through her father’s secretive double life.

She is also co-founder of Gina Raphaela Jewelry, which turns deconstructed bullets into daring necklaces, rings and bracelets. The company donates proceeds to non-profit organizations that stand for peace.

Lastly, her book, Hiding Out: A Memoir of Drugs, Deception and Double Lives, builds on the story of her play, and further unravels the relationship with her formidable father, this time from her point of view. The book hinges on a moment in which a secret she'd harbored for years is revealed to her father; that she liked girls. But, instead of dragging her to a priest, her father shockingly says that he too, is gay. Through wild, clandestine escapades, her discover that this is not Sir John’s only significant deception.

The Washington Post said of the book, that she packaged grit and grime into glistening prose and that her twisted mystery is a ‘can’t-put-down’ read. And of the book, Tina herself said, “there is no shame in telling the truth.”

Megan Febuary, is the author of For Women Who Roar as well as a Trauma-Informed Book Coach. She invites new and experienced women who know they have a story, to write and publish it, find their voice and heal in the process.

She received her M.A. from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology with an emphasis on The Body Is A Storyteller. Megan is the creator of Book Year and Founder of For Women Who Roar, through which she has taught embodiment, and helped publish over a 1000 works of women.

Megan's passion for narrative focused trauma care and embodied storytelling began at a young age when through her own creative journey you found that it wasn’t about the end product, but the process of creating as a form of healing trauma. Tom O’Leary, is an actor and owner and operator of the popular Alberta District Irish pub T.C. O’Leary’s in Portland, Oregon. In the early 2000s, O'Leary played Dr. Brendan Daly on Ireland’s popular television show, Fair City, which has been on air since 1989. This is a role that he has continued to play in recent years on a part-time basis while living here in Portland.

After working as an actor in several theaters in Dublin he moved to New York where he was an award-winning stage actor and then to Los Angeles where he continued acting for several years. Katrin Berndt is a coach and host of the Grumpy Girlfriend Podcast. She always thought that she would be an independent, confident, secure girlfriend, and that she wanted an independent, confident, secure boyfriend. But within relationship, Katrin experienced jealousy, anxiousness, neediness and that to some extent, she wasn't ready for an independent partner. The advice she received was, “work on self-love,” so she asked herself what that meant.

She was relentless in her pursuit of answers to this question and remedies to the emotional issues she was suffering. She believed in logical, not vague, or “woo,” in change herself, not her partner and in her own ability to execute lasting change.

She realized that she used to think that a person was either born relaxed, happy, and easy-going, or that, if they weren't, then their parents didn't raise them right. But she discovered that being that kind of person is a skill, not a talent. It's something anyone can learn at any stage of life.

David Haines is a British/Dutch artist based in Amsterdam. He studied in London and Amsterdam and his work spans drawing, painting, moving image, text and music. His work was recently shown at the British Museum, in London and in the past has shown in Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Estonia, Istanbul, HongKong, and New York.

David, believes that drawing and painting are media that liberate the image from the dehumanized abstraction of its digital reproducibility, that there are deeply psychological reasons why we return time and again to singular images in our digitally drenched society, and that it is the handmade image, in all its materiality, that offers us the closeness we desire.

Dennis Aydemir is a songwriter and front man in the indie art rock genre band Deniz of The Beez, and director and producer of the three-part documentary trilogy, Time Travels Through Sound. Dennis was born in California and grew up in Istanbul. At two-and-a-half years old, he had favorite artists--REM and Eric Clapton. He started playing keyboard at seven, piano at 11 and when he received a guitar on his twelfth birthday, he decided his music career had begun.

By the age of 15 he was a go-to guitarist, bassist and vocalist in several Istanbul music scenes, and in 2015, graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He had the honor of subbing for one of Turkey’s most influential jazz bassists, and had the pleasure to open for Nick Cave, who he lists as one of his musical influences. He also worked as lyricist and translator for the award-winning band Women of the World in a project discussing the socio-political issues surrounding the 2011 Fukushima power plant disaster.

Aydemir is fluent in Japanese, Spanish, Turkish and English and his current creative impulsions are rooted in his belief that when a language dies, humanity loses wisdom, but also that there is hope, so long as music is still sung. His non-narrative documentary trilogy, Time Travels Through Sound explores music that faces extinction due to language death. The first film of this trilogy, The Elements, was shot over two years in communities throughout Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, Turkey, Vietnam and Russia. His films are not stories to be told, but stories to behold. They are not about grasping, or necessarily finding resolution but about letting go and losing oneself in one’s own depths through sound.

Andy Hung is a 3rd Degree Judo Black Belt, First Degree Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, owner of the martial arts apparel shop Dojo Outfitters and Head Sensei and Professor of Portland Judo and PDXBJJ. Joe Gilford is an award-nominated screenwriter, screenwriting professor at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and author of the screenwriting book Why Does The Screenwriter Cross The Road?.  He has been a filmmaker for the last 50 years. He writes screenplays, TV scripts and stage plays. He is also the winner of a New York Emmy, and has received two Alfred P. Sloan Foundation grants. Joe earned his BFA at NYU's Institute of Film & TV and spent a decade as a stage director in New York in the 1980s & '90s.

He is the son of actors Jack Gilford and Madeline Lee and In 2013, adapted their experiences as blacklisted actors in the 1950s into the critically acclaimed stage play Finks. It was nominated for two Drama Desk Awards and Best New Play by the Off-Broadway Alliance, and is currently in development as a feature film.

His latest feature screenplay Mob Town, released in theaters in 2019 and stars David Arquette. In 2005 he started StoryRescue.com which helps writers and storytellers at every level in screenwriting, playwriting, TV and fiction. He started working in theater and film at a young age and has stayed in that world for a long time. Tim Albaugh is a writer and producer. He has taught screenwriting at UCLA, UC Irvine, Hollins University, Pixar Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Feature Animation.

Richard Hubbard is a men’s group leader, Zen practitioner, martial artist, writer and independent educator. In 2017, Richard began a journey into men’s work through Inside Circle, a therapeutic men’s group in San Francisco that is led by and attended by incarcerated men, but which is also open to the public. He is a survivor of physical and sexual childhood abuse and struggled with substance abuse through the 1990s. Several turbulent years culminated in a near-death experience that led him to a Zen monastery, where he took up formal practice. He spent 5 years in conservatory theater programs and has applied this training, and training in other modalities to facilitate healing for others. Richard now works with several other organizations based in California, New York, and Massachusetts that assist men and women with empowerment and growth.

Jordan Jonas is a Wilderness Living & Self-Reliance Expert and winner of season six of the show, Alone.

He spent his formative years in the vast nature that is Idaho country. Then as a young adult he spent countless days and nights navigating both rural and urban environments while riding freight trains across the US.

Soon after that adventure, Jordan spent the better part of the next ten years living in Siberian villages in Russia, with fur trappers, and traditional nomadic reindeer herders. There, day in and day out, he learned the art of survival from people whose existence depended on those skills.

These abilities proved effective in helping him win season six of the History Channel's show, Alone. To do so, you spent 77 days in the Arctic. He successfully hunted a bull moose, a wolverine, dozens of rabbits, squirrels, grouse and numerous fish.

Throughout his life, Jordan has learned to hunt, trap, fish, survive, and even thrive in abundant times and lean. He has obviously learned to deal with tremendous adversity but more important than this, has been the development of character and love.

Jordan values ingenuity, adaptability, resilience, gratitude, his heritage, and becoming someone worthy of the incredible sacrifices made by those who came before him.

Brynn Saito is a fourth generation Japanese American and Korean American author of two books of poetry, Power Made Us Swoon and The Palace of Contemplating Departure.

She is also the winner of the Benjamin Saltman Award and a finalist for the Northern California Book Award. She holds degrees in creative writing, religious studies and philosophy and has been a visiting writer in the MFA programs at several universities.

She co-founded the Yonsei Memory Project, an endeavor which awakens the archives of Japanese American history through arts-based, intergenerational, and intercultural public programming. Brynn's work has appeared in the New York Times, Vogue, and the American Poetry Review and she is a two-time recipient of the California State Library’s Civil Liberties Public Education grant.

Her work was recently featured in the opening ceremony for The People’s Inauguration, a 10-day event inspiring collective action led by activist Valarie Kaur. Her third book of poetry will be published in the fall of 2023.

Maggie Doyne, is founder of the BlinkNow Foundation in Surkhet, Nepal. The story of that organization began in 2005, in northern India. While there and during a cease-fire in the Nepalese Civil War, she met a six year old girl who was barely surviving. She helped pay for her school, and then, using $5,000 she'd saved from babysitting expanded your efforts. Soon funds came from supporters worldwide, she purchased land in Nepal, and in 2007, started The BlinkNow Foundation. This nonprofit now includes a women's center, health clinic, girls' safe house, a Children’s Home that is the legal guardian to more than 45 children, and a 400-student school that is the ‘greenest’ school in Nepal,

In 2013, this school's students took Nepal's District Level Examination for the first time. All students scored within the top 10% nationwide, 50% scored in the top 1% nationwide and the school was ranked first in its region.

Maggie has been a Speaker at the Forbes 400 Summit on Philanthropy, and the Forbes Women's Summit and have received many awards, including the CNN Hero of the Year, as well as the Unsung Hero of Compassion award, presented by the Dalai Lama. But more importantly, in March 2022, she shared your personal story in your book "Between the Mountain and the Sky, A Mother's Story of Love, Loss, Healing and Hope.”

Maggie believes in operating at the grassroots level of community, in focusing and promoting sustainability and self-reliance within community, and not least of all, getting down with the truth.

To celebrate our 100th episode, we invited three of our listeners to be guests and talk about how they are meeting the physical, cognitive and emotional challenges of life.

David Robles is a program supervisor at the largest therapeutic residential non-profit in Oregon where he provides support to youth in need. He and Daniel have traveled distant lands together, have bled together through both the creation of stories and the living of our own. He has stood by Daniel during the most difficult moments of his life embodying his values of safety, consistency, emotional awareness and abiding presence. David values articulation, heightened cognitive and physical performance, solution based thinking, nuanced and effective trauma therapy, the light, the dark, the shadows between, and that the cat is but isn’t necessarily always both in and not in the box.

Parker Denae is on a journey of growth that is currently both at its beginnings, and has been happening for many years. The journey is one of learning to love and care for herself, including giving her younger self what she didn't have growing up, and at the same time fostering your overall growth into a strong and stable woman that little girl can rely on. She also plays roller derby, works hard, and plays harder. She is one of the most lively and unexpectedly raucous and at the same time intentional and perfectly genuine people we have known. She values speaking what she believes, questioning those beliefs, and in yeses to adventure, whether it be of the body, the mind, or the heart. 

Mike Lepis' professional life has been helping large companies connect with their employees. He is an entrepreneur and married to an entrepreneur. He considers himself a work in progress and have recently been processing and recovering from challenging life events via embracing therapy, self-reflection, and movement. You have two children and to help with your parenting challenges, you lead a group for dad’s of neurodiverse kids. Mike, you believe in creating space to support others, in process, togetherness in collaboration and co-creation, insight driven strategy and actionable plans both personally and professionally.

Ron Cecil was born in New Mexico, where he fell in love with rock climbing, the divine, and smoking cigarettes in secret. He has degrees in Biblical Literature and psychology, and though destined to be a cowboy, or preacher, he instead ran large companies both domestically and abroad until in 2015, he started guiding men toward mental, physical and emotional health. Ron's parents were married 13 times, creating in him a devotion to understanding what might make a healthy marriage. He's been partnered since 2009 and father to a daughter and adopted son. In 2020, you completed his dream of speed-climbing Yosemite's Half Dome. Later that year, he co-founded the podcast, Cutting for Sign and doubled down on his passion for writing via a modern western called Midland set in the high desert where he grew up. Ron believes in authenticity, in almost pulling that heist he's been scheming but instead writing it into his book, in caring for our sometimes skittish nervous systems, in long cold showers along warm beaches, in friendship, in bucking shame, in leaning on the world so it can lean back, and in relaxing into the surprising discomfort of living his future now.

Ross Pino is a Brooklyn based artist. Having grown up with alcohol and drug addicted parents, his main objective in life has become to set people free from destructive mindsets. He is an advocate for mental health awareness through arts and entertainment.

In 2018, Pino began his journey as an artist by painting skulls. His daughter would paint with him. Her free creative spirit began to affect his paintings, eventually combining with his own edginess and skill.

Pino describes his art as shining light into the darkness. His work combines human anatomy, “End of Days” theories, numerical synchronicities and emotionally driven poetry. While at times his work is dark, there is a heavy spiritual underling throughout.

Eddie Colla attended the School of Visual Arts in New York and graduated from the California College of Arts with a BFA in photography and interdisciplinary fine arts. He began your artistic career as a photographer, working first for the New York Times and later, several magazines, record labels and ad agencies. However, over time, he has morphed into an opponent of what he terms, “the all-pervasive nature of commercialism” ie, the advertisements that overwhelm many of our public spaces.

Eddie's street art first garnered national recognition when he began incorporating images of Barack Obama in 2008. His designs have been transformed into stickers, and album and magazine covers and have been featured alongside Hush, Blek Le Rat, Banksy, and Shepard Fairey as well as at art festivals, shows, and public spaces in Miami, Paris, Los Angeles, Thailand and Mexico. In August of 2011, he completed an 80 ft mural in Little Saigon San Francisco chronicling the Vietnamese diaspora. In 2012, he became the curator at LOAKal gallery in Oakland California, and then the Ian Ross Gallery in San Francisco where he guest-curated "Made in China" a group exhibition where contemporary artists had their work hung side by side with counterfeits produced in an oil painting factory in China.

Eddie values death awareness, holding the opposites of personal expression and anonymity, not asking for permission, imperfection, the unordinary, in producing shit, if one has to, to get to something real…and of his work states,  “Some people view what I do as vandalism. I assume that their objection is that I alter the landscape without permission. Advertising perpetually alters our environment without the permission of its inhabitants. The only difference is that advertisers pay for the privilege to do so and I don’t. So if you’re going to call me anything…call me a thief.”

Vasilisa Lukyanenka arrived to Emotional Intelligence coaching through Zen Buddhism, and the teachings of Eckhart Tolle and John Kabat-Zinn. She is currently exploring Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology and existential psychology, specifically logotherapy, which was created by Viktor Frankl. She believes at the core of most people's problems is the lack of meaning in their life and that each person is 100% in charge of their well-being and happiness.

Babsi Zangerl is widely regarded as the best female climber in the world, as well as National Geographic’s 2019 Adventurer of the Year. She found climbing as a teenager and soon completed an ascent of Pura Vida, the hardest boulder climbed by a woman at the time.

At age 19, she herniated a disc in her back. A doctor said she's never climb again. However, she quit bouldering and switched her focus to rope climbing. Since then she has become the first woman to complete the famed Alpine Trilogy, and completed five of El Capitan’s hardest big-wall free climbs, including just the second free ascent of Magic Mushroom. On top of that, to balance her life, she works a part-time job as a radiology assistant. Her contemporaries describe her as relentless and tenacious but also humble, low-key and unassuming. Alex Honnold, the famed free soloist said of her “She’s so mellow that it’s hard to think of her as ‘the best.”

Babsi believes in genuinely embracing process and adversity, in holding herself to strict climbing ethics, that it’s more memorable when one has to work extra for a route, and just diving into adventure because people might not know what they’re capable of.

David McRaney, is a science journalist and creator of the blog, podcast and internationally best selling book, You Are Not So Smart.

Leila de Bruyne is co-founder and U.S. Executive Director of Flying Kites, an organization based out of Kenya, that supports schools as they help raise the level of education and basic services available to children living in poverty.

In 2004, she traveled to Kenya to volunteer to teach economically-disadvantaged students in the capital city of Nairobi. She soon realized that unqualified, short-term volunteer-teachers were part of the problem. Inspired by a growing movement to ignite community-led development, she cofounded Flying Kites, at the center of which is her Teacher Training Center & Academy - an innovation hub for her community of teachers, and a model for her network of schools.

Flying Kites focusses on girls and her approach ensures that every girl has the opportunity to access critical information and resources related to her health as well as how to use any of their new-found skills in a way that is most relevant to her. De Bruyne works in partnership with Kenya’s Ministry of Education, to address critical barriers to learning, by launching School Meals Programs and investing in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene infrastructure.

Alexis Stephens aka Bust, has dedicated much of his life to dance in the Parisian hip hop scene, and has evolved into a painter, having asked himself, “How can I transfer multi-dimentional dance energy into a 2D image?”

Scott Tatum is the founder of UcanOutdoors, a platform through which he delivers daily “Friendly Reminders,” about self-care, taking accountability, and healing.

He is also a nomad, explorer, and outdoor enthusiast who advocates for public lands. Scott utilizes the outdoors for his own healing and while traveling these open spaces, offer the reminders that he also calls “Self-Care Savage Ups.” His message is inclusive and clearly expresses his belief that we could all use more guidance, compassion and heartfelt story. He knows what it’s like to be stuck in a cycle, to self-sabotage and to be close to giving up. Joe Gilford, has been a filmmaker for the last 50 years. He writes screenplays, TV scripts and stage plays. He is also the winner of a New York Emmy, and has received two Alfred P. Sloan Foundation grants. Joe earned his BFA at NYU's Institute of Film & TV and spent a decade as a stage director in New York in the 1980s & '90s.

He is the son of actors Jack Gilford and Madeline Lee and In 2013, adapted their experiences as blacklisted actors in the 1950s into the critically acclaimed stage play Finks. It was nominated for two Drama Desk Awards and Best New Play by the Off-Broadway Alliance, and is currently in development as a feature film. Jay Bakker is an author, speaker and founder of Revolution Gathering, a community for a more liberal form of Christianity. He was also son of televangelists Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye Bakker Messner, but in his young adulthood became disillusioned with the mainstream Church.

In 2001, he wrote the book Son of a Preacher Man: My Search for Grace in the Shadows which details his youth, relationship with his parents, and the founding of Revolution Church. Bakker has endorsed gay marriage, advocated for the church’s acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community, and is a proponent of an open, inclusive Christianity that embraces alternative lifestyles.

Fraya Mortensen created the “Free To Be You” coaching platform and describes herself as a “human behavior expert and transformational mindset coach."

She started her journey of experiencing compassion and acceptance toward all beings when she worked as a probation officer in Canada.

She has now helped transform thousands of people’s lives over a 20 year career.

Dr. Tracey Hunter is a clinical psychologist, relationship coach and Schema Therapy practitioner based on the Gold Coast of Australia. 

She received your PhD in clinical psychology at Griffith University, Gold Coast in 2005 and made the Academic Excellence List for her thesis work. She is also author of several publications that dissect the relationships between child development, depression, and peer relationships.

Tracey's aim is to help people get in touch with disconnected parts of the self so that they can create inner harmony and thrive in intimate relationships. Through the experiential techniques of Schema Therapy, her clients are able to bring unconscious patterns and wounds into awareness, to heal, and to gain clarity about core emotional needs and values. She also focuses on women ready to step into their feminine power and create loving and energizing relationships.

Tracey believes humans are fascinating and resilient, that underneath our protective layers, we seek a more satisfying experience of life, and that one of the most important journeys we can take as humans is the exploration of the effects on our lives of the messages we received in childhood about love, connection, self-expression, and worthiness.
