Knowing how much to charge for each project can be a minefield, especially if you’re just starting out. The temptation to undercut or offer ‘beginner’ rates comes with consequences, so it’s important to educate yourself, clients and other VOs on the implications of usage and how it affects the fees we charge for Voiceover.

We’ve not seen many other podcasts discussing the less glamorous or exciting side of running a VO business, for example, what do you do when illness, family matters and other things happen in life but you still need to continue recording and carry on with your work commitments. 

This week, Lizzie and I are discussing how difficult it is to record when you are going through a tough time (whatever the reason may be), and how sometimes its best to stop and look after yourself, whereas others it might be to carry on working. 

During this episode we also touch on voice notes, travel kits and working while on holiday.
