06 Dec 2021S1 E1: Anti-Racism In English Cricket w/Tom Brown & Dr Thomas Fletcher00:51:44

With Azeem Rafiq’s testimony ringing in their ears, the ECB launched a 12 point anti-racism plan. But is it the right plan, will it work, and what more must be done?

On Cricket: Inside The Story, journalist and broadcaster Nakul Pande seeks expert help to take you beyond the headlines and deeper than the news cycle on the sport’s most important stories.

Assessing the ECB’s new anti-racism response are:
Tom Brown from Birmingham City University, whose PhD research revealed that South Asian players and coaches are disproportionately blocked from progression in professional cricket;
Dr Thomas Fletcher from Leeds Beckett University, a sociologist who was lead author of an unjustly ignored 2014 report for the ECB on barriers to South Asian players and coaches, which Azeem Rafiq cited at the DCMS committee and formed an important part of his employment tribunal.

15 Dec 2021S1 E2: Social Justice And Nation Building In South Africa w/Firdose Moonda00:52:46

On the day that South Africa’s landmark Social Justice & Nation Building report found that the nation’s cricket board and some of its most famous cricketers had discriminated against players of colour, it’s worth looking at how we got here.

How did a report with this scope come to be in a nation barely emerged from the shadow of apartheid? What went into it? And what more could it still do?

On Cricket: Inside The Story, journalist and broadcaster Nakul Pande seeks expert help to take you beyond the headlines and deeper than the news cycle on the sport’s most important stories.

Going deep into the stories heard and the lessons learned from the SJN is:
Firdose Moonda, whose reporting as South Africa correspondent for ESPNCricinfo has been the essential source from the very beginning of the process.

19 Jan 2022S1 E3: Cricket Scotland's Racism Inquiry w/Qasim Sheikh00:35:12

Inspired by Azeem Rafiq’s bravery, Scottish cricketers who in previous years had shared their experiences of racism only to have them fall on deaf ears, thought it was time to try again.

And Cricket Scotland chair Sue Strachan listened. As did Sport Scotland, who launched an independent inquiry. But change cannot be forced through by one person alone, so can a sustainable difference be made north of the border?

On Cricket: Inside The Story, journalist and broadcaster Nakul Pande seeks expert help to take you beyond the headlines and deeper than the news cycle on the sport’s most important stories.

Giving us the inside track on Scottish cricket’s racism inquiry is:
Qasim Sheikh, anti-racism campaigner affiliated with Running Out Racism, and former Scotland men’s international cricketer

08 Jun 2023Special: A Gentleman Always Dies Twice w/Jarrod Kimber01:07:54

Co-released on Red Inker.

Jarrod Kimber and Sam Collins' award winning 2015 film Death of a Gentleman exposed the governance vacuum at the heart of the ICC, and how big money and power politics were moving in to fill it.

8 years to the day since the film's release, we examine where the franchise revolution and the latest BCCI power grab leaves the future of international cricket as we know it, and why the gentleman, in all senses of the word, simply refuses to die.

On Cricket: Inside The Story, journalist and broadcaster Nakul Pande seeks expert help to take you beyond the headlines and deeper than the news cycle on the sport’s most important stories.

Exploring why the film he made 8 years ago was more right than he realised is:

Jarrod Kimber, broadcaster, writer, author, filmmaker, Youtuber, podcaster, and all-round one-man cricketing cottage industry.
