Then in this special Friday episode, Clark plays an interview he had with Karlos Diego (aka Sluggers55) live in person in Hyung's studio where he brought some monster cards to show and tell including the Michael Jordan 1984 Star Rookie Card as well as the 1986 Fleer Rookie Card of MJ (and which one he considers the true rookie.) He also brought some amazing vintage cards and shares stories of how he acquired all of them and what he looks for when buying vintage at shows as well as the value of some of these cards. One announcement is that PSA no longer requires a “declared value” for any item submitted to PSA with each item now automatically max insured up to the highest amount for the service level you picked. If the offer is accepted, the card goes to a network of dealers and buyers behind these offers looking to fill their specific inventory requests. EPISODE 52 - Clark, Hyung and John start the show with their thoughts on the recent sale of the Wander Franco 2022 Topps Series 1 Platinum one-of-one card, and the fact that it was found in a pack sold at Walgreens. The guys then discuss things that only make sense in the hobby, which they call "Hobby Logic" and try to make sense of it. For instance, why do the non-numbered Silver Prizm cards still sell for more than a numbered, more rare parallel of the same card? Or why do PSA 9 "Mint" condition cards sell for the same cost as a raw card (and sometimes less). Or why are some parallel cards like the Orange Wave which is numbered to 25 significantly less valuable than a True Orange Refractor also numbered to 25. They also play "Match Game" again this week where they tried to decide which of the three cards or sets they would buy, sell, or hold without repeating any of the categories. The first example was deciding where to slot the following three choices: Precious Metal Gem (PMG) cards vs. Color Blast cards vs. Kaboom inserts. Lastly, the guys get into their weekly Pick One segment (the Hot Takes edition) with each of them presenting two hobby hot takes and then deciding which one is more likely to happen.
