09 Jun 2022 | 2: Why Choose Refinished Furniture Over New? | 00:20:19
In Episode #2 of Busybee Refinishing with MelDidItHerself, I wanted to talk more high level about the concept of upcycling furniture instead of purchasing new, manufactured furniture. We'll talk about the F word (no, not that F word-- F-waste!), just how much furniture ends up in the landfill every year, and how choosing refinished will help to sustain the environment and be more sustainable. We'll discuss how vintage furniture is often more well-built, and carries a history with it that tells a story. I'll also walk you through the intentionality that goes behind every sale of a piece of refinished or painted furniture, which will make you feel even better about supporting a local business in your community, while getting an amazing furniture piece for your home. Let me know over on Instagram (@MelDidItHerself) on the Episode 2: Why Choose Refinished Over New? post why you love choosing upcycled furniture instead of buying new, and the benefits of doing so... 05 Jan 2023 | 32: Setting Expectations For You & Your Business | 00:15:09
In Episode #32 of Busybee Refinishing with MelDidItHerself, I discuss something I hope everyone is doing as we start a new year: setting expectations for themselves & their businesses. Since we have a clean slate to start from, setting up your expectations and checking yourself and your outputs, your perspective, and your thoughts surrounding your goals and intentions is super important. We’ll discuss being ambitious but not shaming ourselves, setting up simple systems to help us, avoiding the pesky comparison game and revisiting these expectations and goals often. Let’s make 2023 the best year yet! Links mentioned in this episode:

08 Dec 2022 | 28: Setting Goals For The New Year- Part 2 | 00:34:15
In Episode #28 of BusyBee Refinishing with MelDidItHerself, I dive into part 2 of my approach to goal setting– in your personal life, business, or wherever else you want to set some intentions and see some improvement for 2023. I don’t necessarily set “new year’s resolutions”, rather I intentionally set goals and plan for the new year in order to break habits that are no longer serving me, maintain things that have been working for me, and set up new systems in my life in order to grow and improve. These approaches to goal setting will ensure you avoid mistakes made in the past, help you get clear on your vision for the year, and keep these goals top of mind so you don’t fall off after a month into the new year. I hope it helps!! Links mentioned in this episode:
