Matthew Pfister Matthew joined the Navy at 19 years old. He was deployed to my home country, Liberia, on a ship that my family and I were on doing the war in Liberia, USS Saipan (LHA-2) The ship got there in early June.

Their job was to track ships and aircraft going by. They were on an ample space about 50 miles off the coast of Liberia, In the middle of August, they evacuated the embassy of Liberia 🇱🇷 and evacuated civilians as needed.

They evacuated about 1600 people from Liberia and flew them on the ship, and most of the people were moved to Freeport in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱

I was a little girl and did not know this unique human being was a critical part of my life during the war in Liberia.

Thirty-five years later, I met him at Church.

What a confirmation from God that I am in the right place at the right time.

This Tuesday, we begin Part 1 of an awe inspiring two part series featuring Melanie Rogers’ incredible story of faith, divine promise, and miraculous fulfillment. Despite her husband’s vasectomy God gave Melanie a clear vision of a little boy destined to come into her life. Against all odds, His promise was fulfilled in ways only God could orchestrate.

As we reflect on her testimony, we are reminded of Luke 1:41: “And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” Just as John the Baptist responded to the presence of Jesus even before birth, Melanie experienced a spiritual confirmation that only God could give a supernatural assurance that His promises were already set in motion.Her story reminds us that God still speaks today, often in unexpected ways.

Sometimes, His direction comes with such clarity that our hearts “leap” in recognition of His divine presence, much like Elizabeth experienced when she encountered Mary.Have you ever felt God confirming a path for you, even when it seemed impossible? In a recent podcast episode, I had the profound honor of hosting Annie Zhao and her son, Ethan. Hailing from China, where Christians constitute approximately 2% of the population  , their unwavering commitment to their faith stands as a remarkable testament to resilience and devotion.

Meeting Annie at school was a transformative experience. Her radiant spirit and steadfast love for God are truly inspiring. Annie’s dedication to serving the Lord, even at great personal cost, exemplifies a profound trust and faith. She often encourages her students to turn to prayer in times of need, embodying the belief that sincere supplication, coupled with unwavering faith, can lead to divine intervention.

Ethan, her young son, mirrors this deep-seated faith. His intelligence and early devotion to God are commendable, especially considering the challenges faced by Christians in a country where they are a minority. Annie’s narrative of her parents’ conversion to Christianity underscores the profound impact of faith across generations. Without their spiritual journey, Annie’s own path to Christ might have been different.
