Louisa Whitney founded LKW Family Mediation in 2013.  After working as a family lawyer for 11 years, Louisa shifted her focus to family mediation. About Léa Cléret:

I am the CEO for the Leadership Trust, an international company specialised in high quality experiential Leadership Development.

I have a Ph.D in philosophy, and focused most of my higher education on asking myself questions about “what is the right thing to do?”, specialising in ethics, in particular in the field of sport. This led me to spend a decade working with athletes on large scale behaviour change programmes, trying to understand how they engaged in prohibited behaviours and setting up evidence based prevention programmes. In order to sharpen my skills to understand some of the individuals targeted, I studied criminology to gain insights to the criminal mind. What struck me was the high prevalence of mental health issues with convicted criminals, and many crimes could be prevented by ensuring that the basic needs of human development are provided.

With a passion, I believe that personal development is what will allow the world to change for the better, so when I was offered to join the Leadership Trust, I jumped in head first. Day to day, I work with my colleagues to ensure management best practice is applied, and I look at the best way to provide access to all those who are ready for life-changing and business-changing experiences.

I am passionate about creating conditions for positive human interaction, and in my spare time I manage teams to high performance in equestrian sports. My language skills allow me to communicate in both Olympic official languages, and in Spanish.

I am interested in meeting business owners/managers who genuinely wish to see a change within their organisation, to reach high-performance through happy and fulfilled employees.

How are we supporting other small businesses? Do the actions we take towards other businesses truly support them or is there a silent unintentional sabotage that is happening? We all know that inner critic—the one that chips away at our confidence, whispering doubts and negativity. I've struggled with it myself, letting it hold me back for too long. But I’ve learned that we can rewrite that internal dialogue. Recognising those harsh thoughts and actively challenging them has been a game-changer for me.

I’ve also come to understand how things like sugar and simple carbs can mess with our mood and energy, impacting how we feel about ourselves. By making small, mindful changes in how we nourish ourselves, we can improve our mental resilience too.

And then there’s the fear of what others think—a powerful barrier that often stops us from showing up as our authentic selves. Learning to let go of that fear and advocate for myself has been incredibly freeing. Self-acceptance and self-advocacy are essential in both our personal and professional lives, and they’re key to building the confidence to pursue what we truly want. When we choose to quiet that inner critic, we create space for growth, joy, and genuine fulfilment.

But here’s the real kicker: standing up for what’s right? It’s not always easy or consequence-free. Even so, I firmly believe it’s worth it. Fairness and justice aren’t just ideas to me, they’re non-negotiables.

That said, being wired to care so deeply about injustice can take its toll, especially if you’re pouring your energy into battles that feel never-ending. That’s why I also talked about learning to detach emotionally, not in a way that makes you stop caring, but in a way that keeps your mental health intact. It’s a delicate balance, but one worth striving for.

Let’s talk about something that’s been on my mind lately... Zelensky’s visit to America and the absolute masterclass he gave in composure, dignity, and handling difficult situations. Politics aside, his response to being confronted by Donald Trump and JD Vance was a lesson in self-control that we could all learn from, especially those of us navigating the chaos of business, leadership, and, well, life in general.

I’ll be honest, global events like this always have an impact on how I create content. I can’t just ignore what’s happening in the world and pretend it doesn’t affect us, because it does. The way people handle stress, criticism, and confrontation matters, whether you’re a world leader or an entrepreneur trying to build something meaningful. And watching Zelensky hold his ground with such quiet confidence was a reminder that strength doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

I’ve had my fair share of moments where I’ve had to bite my tongue, breathe through the frustration, and choose my response carefully, whether it’s dealing with difficult clients, online critics, or just the pressures of running a business. It’s not always easy, but it’s necessary. Respectful interactions and emotional intelligence go a long way, not just in politics, but in every part of life.

This isn’t just about leadership on a global scale, it’s about how we show up in our own spaces. It’s about building a community where we lift each other up rather than tearing each other down.
