Mia shares her personal experiences with being a gun dealer as a trans woman, and her place in advancing the understanding of firearms in the liberal landscape. She also talks about navigating the aftermath of the recent school shooting in Nashville, TN, after which, her images were published by the Daily Mail in an attempt to fog up the story while simultaneously harming the very cause she is working toward. We also delve into the hypocrisy of right-wing rhetoric when it comes to the Second Amendment, and the importance of responsible gun ownership and training. Calpernia takes us on a journey from her upbringing in the South to serving in the military and eventually becoming a Nashville showgirl in the 90s. The trajectory of her life took a tragic turn with the murder of her boyfriend Barry Winchell, which led her to move to Chicago and eventually meet Andrea James, with whom she started Deep Stealth Productions.
