Sometimes being a chief has its challenges. Peter (afollygood) took time to relax and enjoy his hobby and build some beautiful gothic style buildings. He wanted to travel back in time and enjoy the medieval times of building and construction houses the look right out a story book. His dedication to just doing what he loves combines with his diverse styles of building. "You can make one burger but the next burger might just be a little bit different, same with a LEGO build."
It's that time of the week again! (No, not wine o'clock... yet) It's Friday so it's time for the Bricking News! This week's news ties in some brand new sets, rumors, and brand new physical LEGO locations. Star Wars rumors look to be huge this summer, some classic for the anniversary and some new ones that will hook you into stopping by your nearest LEGO store. So I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want =) MORE LEGO! We will be offline for 2 weeks as my wife and I travel to the UK! If anyone is there and would like to meet up let us know! This week LEGO Billund campus got an upgrade. They finally finished their brand new headquarters building and it's awesome! Can't wait to work there ha! But really. This week was my 30th Birthday and it was awesome! Loved spending time with my wife, building some LEGO, and watching Stranger Things! Had some money to spend on LEGO but... too many new ones to choose from! LEGO Kenobi sets, new roller coaster, and Doctor Strange on the way, how can you choose!
The LEGO Group's 90 Years of Play is getting into full swing. We have LEGOLAND New York starting their celebration, a new gift with purchase, and LEGO CON happening this weekend! SIMs becomes a partner with LEGO and help with the house designing. Finally, Bond makes his... minifigure entrance!
I can't say enough good things about this year's LEGO Con (which I keep wanting to call it Brick Con). It was extremely well directed as a Live show and the sets revealed were awesome! Some known and some surprises! I couldn't be happier to spend my money on LEGO. The LEGO brand is moving to a better future without oil but it'll come at a cost. This week is packed with news. We talk about The LEGO Group's decision to leave Russia, their latest muscle car to enter the lineup, and some fun videogame you can get on the cheap!
LEGO is raising their prices for the first time. I can understand it to some degree, but it's going to have a huge impact on the LEGO community. People are not going to be able to get the sets they want. If they do get it, that will eliminate a few of the other sets they want. LEGO is becoming a luxury brand more than ever and kids (and adults) are paying the price for it. I just wanted to share a few of my thoughts and how LEGO is backing themselves into a corner.
