19 Jul 2021Strategy and Execution of B2B Marketing Campaign – Part 200:27:16

"Only 15% of employees actually know their organizations most import goals - either they have too many, they do not have any, or the goals keep changing."  FranklinCovey

Imagine the difference you could make in your company if you implemented just one of the strategies we talked about in the previous podcast.

One of the biggest challenges companies have is execution.  So many companies have great ideas, strategies, and goals - but then are unable to get them properly implemented.

In this episode, I talked about some steps to take to make sure you execute the strategy needed to reach your one VITAL GOAL.

In order to Execute, you must know -

1) One Vital Goal that will move your business to the next level.
2) Why that goal is so important for your company.
3) What role each individual plays in achieving the goal.
4) Does your entire team understand and agree why the goal is so important.
5) Scorecard/Scoreboard to keep track of the progress.
6) Regular meetings to discuss the progress.

I know we are all busy with our day-to-day work, but if you do not set and execute new goals your company will never get to the next level.

I hope this episode gives you some ideas on how you can start Executing your goals.

If you need assistance, I have a course that will soon be available to help you with Implementing a B2B Marketing Strategy, contact me at 860-210-8088 or inquiry@worldinnovators.com.

13 Apr 2023The Importance of Authenticity in Industrial Branding00:25:14

In this episode of the B2B Marketing Excellence Podcast, I had the opportunity to speak with Doug Glenn, an experienced publisher with over 30 years of experience in the heat-treating industry. Doug is the owner of Heat Treat Today, a leading publication that provides heat-treating information to readers across multiple channels.

During our conversation, we discussed the importance of industrial brands consistently being on multiple channels with their authentic voice. Doug shared how Heat Treat Today's family-owned business has set them apart from other industrial publishers, fostering longer working relationships with non-family employees, heat treaters, and suppliers. We also discussed how Heat Treat Today's mission to empower its readers with accurate and timely information has helped them build a loyal following.

We delved into the various channels that they use to deliver heat-treating information, including their digital and print magazine, industry-specific newsletters, Heat Treat Radio, Heat Treat Daily, Heat Treat Boot Camp, and Heat Treat Shop. In addition, Doug shared how they've recently launched Heat Treat Classified for Equipment and Jobs to provide an additional resource for their readers.

Finally, we discussed Heat Treat Today's commitment to sustainability and the launch of their Green Technologies in Heat Treat and Heat Treat Green Newsletter initiatives. Doug emphasized that their focus on green technologies is driven by their belief in protecting the environment and ensuring the industry's future rather than just checking a box or trying to make money from ESG initiatives.

Here are some key takeaways from our conversation with Doug:

  • Being a family-owned business can set an industrial brand apart from others because they are so vested in the brand and each other.
  • A mission to empower readers with accurate and timely information can help build a loyal following for a publication.
  • Multiple channels, including digital and print media, can effectively deliver industry-specific information to readers when needed.
  • Be creative and always find ways to add value for your customers. Such as Heat Treat Classified for Equipment and Job Listings.
  • Be honest about what initiatives your brand is passionate about. Example: Why HTT is committed to sustainability and is now offering Green Technologies in Heat Treat and Heat Treat Green Newsletter to help protect the environment and ensure the industry's future.

21 Nov 2024Buy a Jet? Know Your Audience.00:11:39

In this episode of the B2B Marketing Excellence Podcast, we explore why misdirected email marketing campaigns fail to reach the right audience. Using the example of being mistakenly targeted as a potential jet buyer, Donna Peterson outlines six crucial steps to improve direct marketing effectiveness – What to Do, Why it Matters.. The six steps

1. Clean Up Your House File

  • What to Do: Remove outdated or inactive contacts, ensuring your database is current and accurate.
  • Why It Matters: A clutter-free file allows you to focus on engaging the right audience without wasted effort.

2. Analyze Who Really Buys From You

  • What to Do: Segment your database to identify your most frequent and profitable buyers. Look at purchase history, industry, job titles, and company size.
  • Why It Matters: Knowing your core customer base ensures your efforts are focused on people most likely to convert.

3. Identify Common Demographics

  • What to Do: Pinpoint shared traits among your audience, such as location, industry, job level, and company size.
  • Why It Matters: Demographics help create clearer buyer personas for precise targeting.

4. Uncover Behavioral Insights

  • What to Do: Investigate behaviors like events they attend, publications they read, or industry trends they follow.
  • Why It Matters: Behavioral insights reveal where and how to reach your audience effectively.

5. Evaluate Relationship Dynamics

  • What to Do: Analyze which clients or roles prefer working with you and why. Look for patterns in communication style, preferences, or feedback.
  • Why It Matters: Understanding these dynamics helps you tailor your sales and marketing approaches to strengthen relationships.

6. Align Sales & Marketing Feedback

  • What to Do: Gather insights from your sales team about customer objections, preferences, and buying triggers. Match these with marketing data to fill in any gaps.
  • Why It Matters: Collaboration ensures a seamless experience for prospects and increases conversion opportunities.

Conclusion: If you’re ready to refine your marketing and connect with the right audience, don’t wait. Download our Target Audience Worksheet and start crafting a precise description of your ideal buyer.

02 Dec 2021Grow Your Marketing Through Emotion and Strategy00:32:30

In this episode, Donna Peterson interviewed Janet Granger, founder of Marketing Career Mentor & author of OK Boomer.

We discussed why people buy. Did you know there is a proven connection between emotion, neuroscience, and B2B buying? While many insist they make choices only on facts and data, final decisions are always emotionally based.

We also spoke about how relationship building should be the main objective for all B2B brands. In order to do that, your marketing teams need to have a clear strategy. To make sure you are working in the right direction, everyone in the company must know the company’s Mission Statement, and make sure their strategies are aligned. This gives you the guardrails to stay on the right course to reach your target audience and obtain your goals.

We also covered:

1) Do businesses buy based on emotion or just consumers?

2) What do you see as the biggest marketing challenges in both the B2C and B2B companies?

3) How the Marketing Career Mentor platform creates a collaborative environment where individuals in marketing can share ideas, tactics, and trends.

4) The biggest marketing trends in 2022

Gone are the day of sending out broad marketing promotions that promote your product. To stay ahead of your competition, you have to be thinking about your target audience and how the product benefits them. Then make sure your promotion is delivered in a way they will resonate with.

25 Aug 2021Marketing Mistakes All Businesses Make - Part 100:25:30

In this two-part podcast, Donna Peterson and her guest Doug Glenn, Publisher of Heat Treat Today, talk about various marketing mistakes their companies made and what they learned from them. They then outline marketing tactics you should implement to be more effective.

They also discuss marketing philosophies that will help you build a relationship with your prospects that will instill trust, including:

  • Stop talking about yourself and talk about your customer’s needs and challenges.
  • You cannot help everyone - Specializing is scary but can be more profitable while you offer a better service.
  • There is so much more to marketing that cannot be reported by the number of leads or the ROI
  • Everyone is different and likes to consume different types of content
  • Don’t rush to get marketing materials out if you do not have a cohesive plan in place.

Running a business can be exciting and exhausting at the same time. If you implement some of these basic marketing tactics, it will help you be a bit more relaxed so you can set up a strategy that will help your company grow year after year.

Overall, Tony is optimistic about the industry's future and stressed the importance of strategy and consistency in marketing efforts to build relationships that instill trust.

31 Jan 2023Keeping Up with Warp Speed: Navigating the Used Pharmaceutical Equipment Market00:39:19

Pharmaceutical Project Warp Speed, launched by the U.S. government in 2020, aimed to accelerate the development, manufacturing, and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics. One of the most significant changes that the industry has seen as a result of Warp Speed is the increased focus on building up domestic manufacturing capabilities. This has led to an all-time high demand for pharmaceutical machinery, as manufacturers hold onto older equipment longer and look for used machinery as a first option.

In this episode, Adam Covitt, Federal Equipment Company, tells us what to look for when considering purchasing used equipment to fill the demand for pharmaceutical equipment.

Here are a few key factors to consider:

  • Equipment condition: It's important to thoroughly inspect the equipment and ensure it is in good working condition before making a purchase.
  • Equipment history: Research the equipment's history to understand its previous usage and maintenance. This information can help you determine if the equipment has been well-maintained and if it has any known issues.
  • Equipment compatibility: Make sure that the equipment you are purchasing is compatible with your existing equipment and processes. This will help ensure smooth integration and reduce downtime during the installation process.
  • Equipment age: Consider the age of the equipment and how it may affect its performance and longevity. Older equipment may require more maintenance and may be less energy efficient.
  • Equipment certification: Check if the equipment is certified and compliant with relevant industry standards such as FDA and GMP. This will ensure the equipment meets the necessary safety, sanitation, and quality requirements.
  • Equipment vendor: Consider the reputation and reliability of the vendor you are purchasing from. This will help ensure that you receive quality equipment and have a positive experience with the vendor.
  • Equipment cost: Compare the cost of purchasing used equipment to the cost of purchasing new equipment to determine if it is a cost-effective option.

By considering these factors, you can make a more informed decision when purchasing used equipment for your pharmaceutical operations and ensure that the equipment you are buying will meet your needs and requirements.

If you need assistance in doing thorough research of equipment to make sure it is the right fit for your facility, reach out to:

07 Sep 2021Marketing Mistakes All Businesses Make – Part 200:26:14

In the second half of their conversation, Donna Peterson and her guest Doug Glenn, Publisher of Heat Treat Today, continue to discuss marketing tactics your company should implement to be more effective.

29 Nov 20223 Ways Industrial Brands Can Increase Customer Loyalty00:25:47

True or False? When it comes to marketing, industrial brands only need to describe their products or service. They don’t have to think about building relationships.

In this episode of the B2B Marketing Excellence Podcast, I spoke with Zahra Awan, Editor of Furnaces International and Aluminium International Today. She will tell us why building relationships is vital to the growth of industrial brands.

Zahra spoke about why people have to think about relationships differently. Then she gave us three ways industrial brands can use relationship building to increase customer loyalty.

These are the topics we discussed -

1) Why do you think everyone is now talking about relationship building?

2) How can relationship building make an industrial brand stand out?

3) Does a specific niche publication like Furnaces International have to work on brand awareness?

13 May 2021How Harvard Law Executive Education Pivoted When COVID Hit00:30:22

Since the pandemic started, several brands have had to pivot on how they do business.  Today, I spoke with Stephanie Gordon, the Market Outreach and Projects Manager of Harvard Law School Executive Education (HLSEE) on how they had to switch direction from in-person classes to virtual.

Learn how they got creative to ensure the experience offered the same value, and how quality brands like HLSEE use quality sources to educate and promote their programs.

I also asked her:

  • When COVID first started, what did HLSEE do with its programs?
  • How did HLSEE use video to show registrants the experience they would receive?
  • I believe that marketing needs to concentrate on building relationships. How does HLSEE build relationships with prospects so they can decide to register for one of the programs?
  • One of the biggest complaints I hear from people who attend conferences or take classes is that they never implement what they learn.  What does HLSEE do to make sure attendees utilize what they have learned?
  • What do you do to energize yourself, and do you feel it parlays into your success at Harvard?

18 May 2023How To Choose the Right Marketing Technology00:30:52

There are 9932 marketing technology (martech) options currently available - one thousand more than last year. Marketing is changing at warp speed. No wonder it’s hard for companies to make the best decisions on what to use.

Today on the B2B Marketing Excellence Podcast, my guest is Dan Radu, President of Macro. Dan is going to tell us how companies can choose what to use and to make sure they utilize them fully. He equates shopping for technology to be similar to buying a car.

During this interview, we discussed the following questions –

  • How can businesses strike the right balance between using automation to save time and avoiding becoming overly reliant on technology?
  • In what ways can companies measure the ROI of their martech investments, and what strategies can they use to maximize the value they get from these tools?
  • Why do companies invest in martech that is often underutilized or not used correctly, and what can be done to prevent this from happening?
  • What are some common pitfalls that companies encounter when implementing martech, and how can these be avoided?
  • This week at the IAB Newfronts Conference – Scott Brinker was quoted saying “AI as your co-pilot is real and it’s going to change the relationship between buyers and sellers because buyers will have AI too.” Do you have any suggestions on how companies can decide which AI tool is best to use with their existing martech stack?

After you listen to this interview, you will be able to put together a checklist to make sure you choose the right technology for your specific type of company and that it offers the features you need and will use.

“If people like you they will listen to you, but if they trust you, they’ll do business with you.”
Quote by Zig Ziglar

In order to grow their businesses, companies need to be thinking about the kind of relationship building that instills trust.

Podcasting has become another way to create those relationships. When you watch or listen to a podcast, you almost feel as though you are there having the conversation, asking the questions, and getting to know someone on a personal level. Podcasts not only show the personal side of a business but build relationships with the guests and the listeners.

Today I had a fantastic conversation with Casey Cheshire, Founder & Chief Evangelist at Ringmaster Conversational Marketing

  • How the role of B2B Marketing is evolving to drive business growth and how you can adapt this in your own marketing strategy.
  • The key strategies that are most effective in building lasting relationships and instilling trust with B2B customers.

  • Casey shares an example of a successful initiative he’s executed that significantly contributed to a business’s growth and how the role of relationship building played a role in its success.
  • The trends and shifts anticipated in the B2B landscape and ways businesses should adapt by building trust with their customers.

Casey’s insights on the benefits of company podcasts will help pinpoint ways to establish better communication with potential customers that will lead to lasting relationships.

14 Jan 2022What is Data Governance and Why is it Important?00:29:44

Every company has to put guidelines in place to make sure they are handling the data they have in-house correctly.  They also need to make sure the data is cleaned and updated so the marketing and sales teams can use it in the most appropriate way to attract appropriate leads that will turn into repeat customers.

Kim Palmbush, an expert in the Data Governance space, can give companies some great ideas on how to get started.  Here are some of the questions we discussed.

  • Why is it important for companies to make sure their in-house databases are cleaned, updated, and compliant?
  • I constantly have clients telling me they got a list and can they add it to their own database? What do they have to do first before they put those records in their database?
  • Data Governance is a collection of processes, roles, policies, standards, and metrics that ensure the effective and efficient use of information.  That all sounds quite overwhelming. Do you have some steps a company can take to get started?

02 Mar 2023Learn How Industry Magazines Can Help You Form Relationships With Your Audience00:38:16

In the episode, we will hear from Ken Spaeth, the CFO at Cutting Tool Engineering magazine, on why it is crucial NOT to cut your marketing and advertising to save costs. This is very interesting because, as we all know, CFOs are usually very interested in reducing expenses to make a more attractive bottom line.

Instead of cutting your budgets, look for channels that can give you the reporting and analysis you need to ensure that your marketing dollars give you the best ROI.

Like most CFOs, Ken talked about leads and the importance of getting good leads, but Donna had to push him on his views about brand awareness. Ken swallowed deeply and then jumped in to confirm that branding is essential to complement all their marketing efforts.

We spoke about the importance of showing the prospects that it is the right place for them because it offers the value they need to grow as a company. We covered the importance of web reporting showing traffic, engagement, and performance metrics which can help advertisers make the right decision for their advertising budgets.

Cutting Tool Engineering is seeing an increase in social media engagement, so the conversation went into videos and how to leverage their content.

Marketing is constantly evolving, and as a reputable brand, you have to talk directly to your prospects with content they find valuable.

Listen in to see how this publisher offers their subscribers and advertisers the information they need to succeed.

If you have any questions about Cutting Tools Engineering, please contact:  Ken Spaeth at kspaeth@ctemedia.com

If you would like to discuss the best marketing strategy for you to achieve your goals quickly, please feel free to contact me, Donna Peterson, at dpeterson@worldinnovators.

07 Apr 2022Why Your Sales Team Must Concentrate on Relationship Building00:15:41

I believe that relationship building is the new marketing. Brands must build a relationship that instills trust so that a prospect will become a lead.

Once you have a quality lead it is time for sales to continue building the relationship.  You will not deepen a relationship by sending out general sales messages that are more concerned about quantity over quality.

In this episode, I had the opportunity to talk with Dan Englander, CEO & Founder of Sales Schema.

During our conversation we discussed:

1) Why do salespeople need to rethink what they are doing in order to stand out from the noise?

2) How do you find the right balance between personalization and scale in sales?

3) What is the best strategy for going outside of referrals and personal networks to find new business?

And then at the end, we heard exciting news about a NEW book Dan has coming out:  Relationship Sales at Scale.

Can’t wait?  Lucky for you here is a sneak peek - https://www.salesschema.com/a-sneak-peek-at-relationship-sales-at-scale-the-book/

I cannot stress it enough - brands must STOP drowning their prospects with broad general marketing and sales messages.

20 May 2022The Power of Building Relationships with Employees, Prospects, and Customers00:43:03

Today I had the pleasure of talking with Sharyn Combs, Founder of Knowledge or Nonsense, and Speaker/Instructor at UCDI Leadership Training. She is also a CRCST certified sterile processing technician.

Our conversation started with understanding the sterilization process when it comes to surgical tools and equipment, and all the steps that have to take place to ensure everything is completely clean.

Then we dove into leadership and how companies can inspire their employees to do great things. When an individual feels fulfilled at work, it’s been proven that they will be happier and more productive.

Here are some topics we discussed:

  • What changed in the Sterile Processing industry when Covid hit? (I think you will be surprised by her answer!)
  • Relationship building is the new marketing. If leaders want their employees to build relationships with prospects and customers, they must first build relationships with their employees. Have you seen Leaders change how they interact with their employees?
  • When I talk with different companies, I always hear about a battle between departments. First, how do you get the various department leaders to work together? Then how do they encourage their staff to understand and work with other departments?
  • I advocate for professionals to get a mentor or a coach to inspire them to implement steps to achieve professional and personal goals. Have you seen companies add this as a benefit for working for their company?

Listen to the full episode to hear why leaders need a strong WHY for their team. Your team must believe in your WHY - which will give them the purpose of their job and the knowledge that they are making a difference.

16 Sep 2022Worried About Your Data? Here’s How to Make Sure You’re Compliant!00:16:49

Which category are you in?

A) You are so worried about your data that you are paralyzed and don't do anything.

or

B) You feel you are invincible and have nothing to worry about.

Both scenarios are bad for brands that want to grow into the future.

Today, I spoke with Pauline Murphy from 1 Stop Data. We spoke about the importance of having and using only clean, compliant data. This push must come from the board level. Therefore, train and assign specific team members in data protection and security (GDPR, PECR).

Start with an Information audit:

  • What data do you hold?
  • Where do you keep the data?
  • What do you do with the data?

Then do a Data Protection Impact Assessment, which is very important to manage your company's data protection risk. If you do not do an assessment, you will find yourself all over the place.

Key Elements to consider:

  • Data Security
  • Data Accuracy
  • SARS
  • Audit Trail
  • DPO Officer
  • Legal Basis

Ensuring everyone in the data chain is compliant

Analyzing your in-house data is a great way to pinpoint your ideal customers, so you must ensure the information you review is current, updated, and compliant.

If you would like the Data Protection and Key Element Reference Links, please send an email to Pauline or Donna.:

17 Dec 2021What Food and Beverage Manufacturers Need to Know About Industrial Auctions00:32:07

Today, I had the pleasure of talking with Eric Weiler, President of New Mill Capital. Eric was able to shed light on the industrial auction process and how food and beverage companies can take advantage of the benefits. Here are the topics we discussed:

1)    Why should companies consider used equipment vs new

2)    What does the current supply chain look like and how has that affected the used marketplace

3)    What should people expect when buying at auction

4)    When should companies sell their used equipment

5)    Why did you decide to specialize in the food and beverage industry

Right now, is the perfect time to utilize the auction setting to buy equipment, get into your facility quickly and at a discount.

Also, if you have surplus assets, you should sell them now so you can get top dollar and create an additional revenue stream for your company.

All food and beverage manufacturers should be looking into auctions.

04 May 2021How to Successfully Market to Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industries00:43:33

Last week I was doing research in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology space and came across these two statistics that blew me out of the water:

1)   Global Market Insights reports that the global biotechnology market size is projected to surpass USD $775 billion by 2025.

2)   Global Newswire reports that the global pharmaceutical manufacturing market is to grow from USD $357 billion to $1173 billion by 2030.

This expected growth will increase the demand for various biotechnology & pharmaceutical manufacturing products. Companies working in this Bio/Pharm space have to find quality Direct Marketing options that can reach their target audience by Title, Industry, Interest, Technologies Used, etc…

This is why I asked my guest Amy Miller to come back on The World Innovators Podcast to specifically talk about the Bio/Pharma area. Here are some of the topics we discussed:

  • The importance of reaching a specific audience that would be interested in the product or service being promoted.  For example - reaching people involved in Gene Regulation Therapy, Clinical Trials, Assay, etc.…
  • Direct marketing is a great way to get your message in front of the right people interested in buying.
  • Set up your marketing strategy so that you concentrate on building partnerships/relationships and the sales will come.
  • How to protect your company from being blacklisted and your company's online promotions from being shut down.
18 Nov 2022How Industrial Auctions Can Help Grow Your Manufacturing Company00:37:00

In the news, we have all heard companies talk about supply chain issues, the long lag time to get equipment into their facilities, and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) initiatives.

Industrial auctions can help manufacturing companies with these issues, allowing them to plan for future growth.

I have been helping industrial auction companies with their marketing for over 20 years, but I can always learn something new. To be a great marketer, you must dive into the specific industry to learn and understand as much as possible.

During this episode of the B2B Marketing Excellence Podcast, I interviewed John Magnuson, President of Integra Asset Solutions.

Listen in to learn:

  • What are the benefits of selling equipment in an auction?
  • How easy it is to buy equipment at an auction
  • How to calculate the cost savings of purchasing equipment at auction
  • Understand how industrial auctions can help with your ESG initiatives
  • Why relationship building is even essential in such an industrial space

I do these interviews to show you how to begin researching your specific customer space, allowing you to do quality specialized marketing campaigns that increase your ROI.

Be authentic with your messaging and show your customers how much you care. If you form a relationship that instills trust, you will develop a loyal group of customers, and your company will thrive.

26 Apr 2021Using Personalized Video in Your Social Media Campaigns00:45:38

Today I spoke with Tina Silver, a digital & social media consultant.

I had the great opportunity of getting specific details on how Tina helps reinforce the brands of her clients, such as the Le Mas Candille & Spa Candille a (5-star hotel with Michelin star restaurant based out of Mougins, France) and the Beckwith Health Club in the UK.

With her inbound marketing initiatives, Tina skillfully builds relationships with targeted leads, encouraging them on each step of the way to becoming customers. When Le Mas Candille temporarily closed due to the pandemic, she had to think of creative ways to keep the brand top of mind so that when things opened up again, people would be ready to start booking reservations. One of these ways has been the use of personalized videos.

In our conversation, we discussed:

  • Importance of branding to build trust
  • Posting videos that are entertaining vs. sales oriented
  • Ease and efficiency of video as opposed to written content
  • Letting your personality come out to show you truly care
  • How Covid pushed her Le Mas Candille posts to be more personal
  • When it comes to posts, quality over quantity is important
14 Jun 2021Don’t Waste Your B2B Marketing Dollars00:37:10

Joanne Persico, President of OneCount talks about how companies need to take the time to really understand who and why people are visiting their website and responding to their different marketing campaigns. With this knowledge, companies will be able to save time and money by only reaching the people who are most interested in what they have to offer.

Here are few questions we discussed during the interview:

  • Why is it essential for companies to stop keeping their data in separate silos and platforms?
  • Marketing has changed, and companies need to enhance their brand, which will instill trust that builds relationships. How can knowing who is engaging with a brand, on what channel help develop the right marketing path for a company?
  • Recently, I was talking to a client about offering ungated content. Do you feel there are benefits to providing ungated content?
  • Last week, you mentioned you were talking with an association that did not separate its students from professional members. Why is segmentation so important?

12 May 2022Stop the Great Resignation00:40:03

Today I had the pleasure of talking with Renee Johnson, founder of Third Coast Learning. We talked about several areas where businesses and individuals should consider making some changes. If employers and employees can share a common purpose, everyone will be happier.

  • During Covid, some company's personnel problems got amplified.
  • You have to show everyone around you that you truly care.
  • Without a defined direction, companies and individuals won’t know when goals are achieved.
  • Mentors need to listen first to understand how they can help.
  • Organizations need to look inward on how to get better.
  • It’s so important for women to find their voice and speak up.
  • Check with employees on a quarterly basis to see how they are.
  • Use exit interviews to learn and give employees the option to come back.

24 Sep 2021Death of the Open Rate and iOS1500:27:56

Everyone is talking about Apple’s new iOS15, the new Mail Privacy Protection option, and how it is going to affect open rates for email campaigns sent to Apple Mail users. Wanting to learn more, I thought Dennis Hecht, Chief Intelligence Officer, of Rooster Strategic Solutions, could give us some insight on the topic and how to proceed in the future.

Listen in to see how iOS15 and Mail Privacy Protection could be a good thing. It will push brands to concentrate on relationship building, and that will improve the response they receive from highly qualified marketing leads.

Here are the questions we discussed:

  • What is iOS15?
  • Why are people saying it is the death of the open rate?
  • Since companies will not have tracking that reports actual mail open results, will marketers turn to other channels?
  • Can companies figure out their percentage of Apple Mail users, then calculate a more accurate open rate?
  • With this change, what will be companies’ top priority for email marketing in the future?

13 Dec 2022Fixing the Disconnect Between C-Level and Marketing & Sales00:32:02

One of the biggest challenges in B2B companies today is dealing with the disconnect between the decisions of upper-level management and the realities of those doing the work.

My guest today will tell us how he closed that gap between his C-Suite and his marketing and sales teams.

Ken Spaeth, the CFO at Cutting Tool Engineering magazine, stepped out of his office and joined his teams in the field.  He wanted to get hands-on experience and learn who their clients were and how his team could help.

His big takeaway? Everyone, from the CEO to the receptionist, MUST be on the same page.

1) Everyone must know and embrace the company's mission

2) Everyone needs to be aware of the company's goals and understand why they are important

3) Everyone, from C-level to sales and marketing, must work as a unified team

Do all three steps, and watch the magic happen. Each individual in the company will be on the same straight path to reach the goals that will fulfill the company’s mission.

We also spoke about:

1) How do you attract new subscribers and keep them interested year after year?

2) What are the biggest challenges for your readers?

3) What marketing channels respond the best?

4) Industrial brands are usually run by an older demographic and say that podcasting and social media are inappropriate channels for them. Do you agree with that statement?

If you have any questions about Cutting Tools Engineering, please contact:  Ken Spaeth at kspaeth@ctemedia.com

If you would like to discuss the best marketing strategy for you to achieve your goals quickly, please feel free to contact me, Donna Peterson, at dpeterson@worldinnovators.

11 Aug 2021Why is it important to use quality compliant marketing lists?00:31:06

This podcast will explain why you need to stop and truly understand where your marketing list or data is coming from. Why it is imperative you use only quality data that is targeted, updated, and compliant.

You have to be careful not to use marketing lists that will tarnish your reputation, get you blacklisted, or assessed large penalties.

My good friend Pauline Murphy from 1 Stop Data is an expert in her field. Today, we spoke about:

1) What type of data does 1 Stop Data have?

2) Why is it so important that companies use only quality data?

3) How can Brands stand out from the crowd & demonstrate value?

4) What type of campaigns have you seen get the best engagement?

5) What do you see as the biggest marketing trend in 2021 and how do you see us proceeding into 2022?
