19 Feb 2025 | Our Craziest Story Yet Living Abroad | 00:37:15 | |
In this episode of the "Away We Go We Go" podcast, I share a story about a big challenge Jordan and I faced while living in France: getting our French driver’s licenses. It's a very long process and we waited so much to exchange our American licenses for French ones, which led to a series of problems—our car got towed, and we found out our insurance had expired without us knowing! For three stressful weeks, I dealt with French bureaucracy, trying to get our car back. It wasn’t easy, but with help from our amazing friends, I finally got my French license just in time for a trip to Switzerland. We almost canceled the trip, but I’m so glad we didn’t. We enjoyed stunning views, delicious food, and some much-needed time together that really lifted our spirits. If you’re living abroad or thinking about moving, this episode is packed with lessons and relatable moments. Tune in for tips on avoiding our mistakes and to hear the story of our Swiss adventure. We had some laughs at our own expense, and I hope it’ll help make your journey smoother. You can find the France driver's license exchange here: https://ants.gouv.fr/
