20 Sep 2021 | 69: The Ultimate Guide to Finding a Financial Advisor with Matt Kweller (Part 2 of 2) | 00:59:51
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional Matt Kweller discusses what a financial planner is and does, how to determine if and when you should enlist one, and what you can do to prepare yourself for meeting with an advisor. We also discuss what a financial plan is, as well as what the fees and minimums are to work with a planner long term or meeting with them one time to create a custom financial plan. Part 2 of 2.
The goal with this two-part series is to create the best resource available for anyone wondering if they should get a financial planner. This can be a guide you can refer back to time and time again. I’ve already re-listened to this interview twice and I’ll likely refer back to it many times.
Matt and I chatted for over two hours. Instead of having one long two-hour episode, I decided to make it a two-part series.
Matt Kweller is a Senior Private Client Advisor at People’s United Advisors, formerly Gerstein Fisher in Midtown Manhattan. After graduating Penn State University, he spent four years at Vanguard working to launch their hybrid digital advice solution, Personal Advisor Services. Matt is an active volunteer with Family Reach, providing pro bono financial planning services to Cancer Patients and a member of the Financial Planning Association of New York metro chapter.

Jordan Gilliam started his career in 2008 at Chung King Studios and subsequently Quad Studios in New York City. He went on to tour as a DJ and traveling recording and mixing engineer for some of the biggest Hip-Hop artists allowing him to share stages and space with artists ranging from Kendrick Lamar to The Chicks to Paul McCarntney. During his travels he also learned videography and started building curriculum for educational institutes in Pittsburgh, PA. In typical audio fashion he found himself learning live sound as a house engineer and helped open a multi-level entertainment complex, landing him on a regional tour circuit with some of Pittsburgh's top bands. The culmination of these experiences are the fabric for Tech25, a non-profit educational institution which provides workforce development programming, teen camps and K-8 in-school programming throughout Pittsburgh Public and regional Charter Schools. From apprenticeships to partnerships with local universities, unions and production companies, Tech25 is paving the way for new pathways for entering the industry and creating a replicable model for cities across the United States

07 Dec 2020 | 32: John Lee Beatty - Set Designer | 00:59:59
Set designer John Lee Beatty discusses the business of design, intricacies of retirement planning, and the importance of talking about finances.
A titan of American theatre, John Lee Beatty designed his first Broadway show in 1976. It was the play Knock, Knock. 44 years later, his most recent design is Plaza Suite, which hasn’t officially opened because of the COVID 19 shutdown.
The total count of his Broadway designs is 115. He has won two Tony Awards, one for Tally’s Folly in 1980 and the second for The Nance in 2013. He has received an additional 13 Tony nominations, has won 5 Drama Desk awards, and has been nominated for 10 more.
Some of those Broadway credits are Ain’t Misbehavin’, The Odd Couple, Other Desert Cities, The Color Purple, and the 1996 revival of Chicago, which is the second longest running Broadway musical of all time, only behind The Phantom of the Opera.
John Lee has also designed more than 70 shows at Manhattan Theatre Club and more than 66 productions of Encores! at City Center. Additionally he has designed for tours, West End, and regional productions. He has also made a reputation of working on new plays, which constitutes the bulk of his portfolio and given way to what he is known for: house interiors and exteriors and their attached gardens.

13 Sep 2021 | 68: The Ultimate Guide to Finding a Financial Advisor with Matt Kweller (Part 1 of 2) | 00:59:51
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional Matt Kweller discusses what a financial planner is and does, how to determine if and when you should enlist one, and what you can do to prepare yourself for meeting with an advisor. We also discuss what a financial plan is, as well as what the fees and minimums are to work with a planner long term or meeting with them one time to create a custom financial plan. Part 1 of 2.
